Perhaps one thing to note beforehand: at Umberto's, you're not just a guest at a pizzeria, but at an Italian restaurant. Classic Italian hits play in the background, and the owner often sings along loudly. The touch of chaos you'd expect in the heart of Naples comes free of charge. You won't find a more authentic experience anywhere else in the area. The pizzas and salads are always delicious, but beer is only available in bottles.

I haven't had such good pizza in a long time! There's absolutely nothing to complain about at this restaurant. Great service, cozy atmosphere, perfect food! If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely come back!

In the small town of Geldern, where standards are apparently not so high, this pizzeria is an insider's tip. We've eaten there twice now, and the pizzas are simply inedible. Hard on the outside and wobbly in the middle, almost slurpable. The underside is partially black. The pizzeria is a rather uninviting little building, but maybe that's what the people in rural Geldern like so much. There are even kebab shops there that make better pizzas. Unfortunately!

In Geldern, this is certainly one of the most authentic pizzerias in the entire area. With charm and character like in Naples 🇮🇹, and a great host in Umberto. While he's busy, he occasionally forgets a customer, but he resolves the situation with charm. We love going there and let ourselves be pampered with pizza 🍕 and pasta 🍝. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. We had called about 30 minutes in advance to see if anything was available, and we arrived at 5 p.m. with a table reservation outside. We waited an hour for two pizzas and two pasta dishes. That's unacceptable. Customers who had picked up three to ten pizzas kept coming. I understand that when there are a lot of pickups, it might take longer, but then, as good customer service, you can let them know that it's taking a bit longer "today." But I found it rude to let them sit there for an hour without comment. My expectations for the food were accordingly high, but I was unfortunately disappointed again. The pizza looked good, but nothing special. The pasta dishes were okay to good. The men's restroom couldn't be locked; the key was missing—probably stolen, as they said. The card payment didn't work, only after a restart. Maybe we were unlucky, but we won't be going back anytime soon. Umberto's little jokes didn't save it. Too bad, despite the recommendation.

You're greeted warmly right away, and the service was also very friendly and polite. The food was delicious; I highly recommend it 👍

I waited an hour for my pizza. The pizza itself was great. But waiting in a loud, crowded restaurant was torture. Order something by phone in advance and then sit down. Then it's worth it.

Went to Holländer See with the motorhome. My son came to visit with his partner on Sunday. We got hungry and drove to the pizzeria. 2 pizzas and two pasta. It tasted excellent and is second to none. We will always visit soon. Top.

The Pizzeria Umberto is a piece of Italy in the middle of Geldern. Very cozy but simple atmosphere, nice staff and pizza like you know from Italy. We'll definitely be back!

Pizza and pasta to eat, I have rarely eaten such good pizza outside of Italy. Reservations make sense, this pizzeria is therefore very busy.

Finally a pizzeria that knows how to make pizza properly. Good dough, which feels like it has been left to rise for a long time, well-topped, a great leopard print and, as it should be, fresh tomatoes on top at the very end. Great, others should take a leaf out of their book!

It was a great surprise to spontaneously stop by here after a short hike and get the best pizza ever. Incredibly delicious dough and great toppings. Inconspicuous from the outside, nice atmosphere and nice people, I can only recommend a visit.

The pizza was too black. And you shouldn't mind if the boss asks you to move to another table while eating your pizza to rearrange tables. Everything for his turnover!! 😏

Stopped here for the first time and sat outside for lunch in the beautiful weather. The boss greeted us very friendly and we ordered two pizzas. What can I say, these were very large, consisted of a dream of pizza dough, juicy toppings and tasted absolutely GREAT. Rarely have I eaten such a top pizza. The atmosphere outside and inside is a bit "rustic", but the food is great, which is why we're happy to come back!

In this warm family business there is no one-size-fits-all pizza, just handcraft. Very digestible pizza dough because it can rest for 24 hours. Finally, you should definitely treat yourself to a (very good) espresso or the excellent grappa! Children are of course welcome and dogs are welcome. Dachshunds are particularly valued 😉

Buongiorno, very friendly welcome and if Umberto isn't too stressed, he likes to sing a song or two for the guests, pizza is very good, really like in Naples. After the renovation and conversion, the "inside" has become a lot nicer and you feel comfortable. Please get the right glasses for Hefeweizen, then everything will be fine. We love to come . Bacio

Wir waren auf Empfehlung an einem Samstagabend da, das es dann voll sein würde war uns klar, zumal Umberto auch noch Außerhausbestellungen abarbeitet. Er hat nur eine kleine Auswahl aber Speisen sind top. Also Teil 1, die von Umberto hergestellten Gerichte sind super, Pizzen oder Calzone super lockerer Boden mit tollen Belag. Da gibt es nicht zu bemäkeln und würde eine glatte Note 2 bekommen. Aber Teil 2, der Service der war grotten schlecht, hier kippt das Ganze. Vom Platz nehmen bis die letzte Person der Gruppe ihr bestelltes Essen bekam dauerte geschlagene 120 Minuten und verdarb unser Gruppe fast den schönen Abend. Der junge Mann der an den Tischen bediente war hoffnungslos überfordert, hatte keine Struktur im Bedienen, wusste nicht wo er schon war und wo nicht, unsere Getränke nahm er erst nach 45 Minuten auf mehrfaches Drängen auf, die Essensbestellungen erst nach 80 Minuten. Als die Speisen dann kamen und es fehlte für alle noch das Besteck was nicht kam und was wir uns selber dann holen mussten, bevor das Essen auf den Tellern kalt wurde. Resümee, am schlechten Service an den Tischen muss Umberto dringend arbeiten!

By far the tastiest pizza in Geldern and the surrounding area. The Umberto pizza is unbeatable! Since the son no longer works there, the service has been great.

Umberto is a family-run Italian restaurant. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're part of the family. You will always receive a friendly welcome and get to know Umberto himself as a very open and funny owner. The food is authentic Italian, every dish tastes fabulous. There is a tiny minus point because you always have to go to the checkout to pay. Personally, I find it more pleasant at the table. I have been coming here regularly for almost 4 years and enjoying the delicious food and I will continue to do so.

Ordered 2 family pizzas + pizza rolls for a family celebration and were extremely satisfied. The two giant pizzas were crispy and only topped with fresh ingredients. All family members were super satisfied and also full. We would order from Umberto again at any time. Thank you...see you next time

The atmosphere is inviting, warm and perfect for a cozy evening with friends or family. The quality of the food is impressive. The pizzas are excellently prepared - the dough is crispy, the toppings are fresh and tasty. Every ingredient seems to have been chosen with care, which is reflected in every bite. The diverse range of pizzas, from classic variants to creative own creations, leaves nothing to be desired. The service is also outstanding. The staff is always friendly, attentive and professional. They manage to find a pleasant balance between politeness and warmth, which makes the visit even more pleasant. Finally, I can fully recommend your pizzeria. Here, attention is paid not only to the excellent quality of the food and drinks, but also to excellent customer service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We have been loyal regular guests at Umberto's for many years. The pizzeria could easily be 1:1 in Naples, you really feel like you're in Italy. Umberto and his whole family (especially Maria) are very warm and hospitable people. Yes, sometimes you need a little patience when it's very busy, but the nice ambience and good pizza make up for it. It's nice that the next generation is in the starting blocks with Michele 💪🏻.

I have bought pizza there several times now. In general they were satisfied. Nice interaction, ambience is ok and not the run-of-the-mill pizzas like everywhere else. But lately there are way too many charred spots on the pizza and the pizza is as thin as a slice of sausage, if that! The edge is really fat with dough and everything gets ruined when cutting the pieces because the base is as thin as a turkey sausage. That is not how it works. You almost slurp the pizza because everything melts when you lift it and the base can't hold the cheese! I would like to post the photos, but unfortunately you can't do that here. Apparently on display.

Despite the hut being full on Saturday evening, we ate deliciously and briefly felt like we were on a short stay in southern Italy. The ambience is super authentic and the service was excellent. The pizza is simply the best in the area (along with that of son/brother Salvatore 😃). Grace!

Way too small restaurant. After years in Germany, he doesn't speak any real German. If you want to park there to pick something up, you'll be immediately shouted away. That's not how you treat customers. I'll definitely never eat there again.

Lovely, authentic Italian restaurant. Bring plenty of time if you plan to have dinner here. Authentic also means that good pizza takes its time. Umberto and Maria are two lovely Neapolitan people who’s heart is into their little, lovely restaurant. The food is really good, especially the pizza is definitely recommended. We visit the restaurant since forever now and every time we leave, it feels like we had a little vacation in Neapel.

Eine der besten Pizzerien in der Gegend. Der Pizzateig ist kross, leicht, bekömmlich. Sehr nettes, lockeres Personal. Die gute Laune von Umberto steckt an. Vino della Casa rosso auch gut.

Waren ganz zufällig kurz nach 17 Uhr da, es waren noch keine Gäste da, dafür wurden wir mit perfektem italienischen lauten Gesang vom Chef ? begrüßt ☺️ Die Pizza war perfekt, das Lokal erinnerte an frühere Zeiten- man fühlte sich sehr wohl. Die Dame die uns bedient hat war ebenfalls super.

Maria und Umberto Esposito sind super und wenn man gute italienische Pizza essen möchte, kommt man um die Beiden nicht herum. Auch die al Forno Gerichte sind klasse. Schöner traditioneller Familienbetrieb. Nettes Ambiente toller Service und immer gute Laune bei italienischer Musik. 😉

Service top. Pizza leider nicht wirklich gut. Zwiebelstücke waren viel zu groß und die Pizza war durch den Belag absolut wabbelig. Bin ich leider anders gewohnt.

Sehr authentische neapolitanische Küche! Unglaublich leckere traditionelle Pizza und ein Kurzurlaub nach Neapel. Man merkt dass der pizzaiolo etwas von seinem Fach versteht und auch die Pasta und Antipasti sind von Herzen zu empfehlen. Immer wieder gerne !

Sehr leckere Pizza . Wir wurden freundlich und schnell bedient . Unsere Hunde bekamen ohne Nachfrage sofort einen Napf mit Wasser hingestellt. Selten wird man als Gast so freundlich behandelt .
