Pitaya in Berlin

The food was mediocre. The teriyaki was too salty, the rice noodles a bit bland. The apple spritzer was barely carbonated. The decor is very nice and authentically Vietnamese. The food is not authentically Vietnamese at all—everything is a mix of Japanese, Thai, and a few Vietnamese dishes.

Highly recommended. The value for money in this selection truly blew us away. Delicious drinks and unique dishes at very reasonable prices for a city like Berlin. We'll definitely be back!

Amazing atmosphere and food, 10/10.

The sushi, especially the fried ones, were delicious. My favorite sushi so far. The restaurant is also very nicely decorated, and I'm surprised that not many people eat there. The service is neutral and sometimes treats customers well. Absolutely fantastic, my favorite place.

Food tastes great, great service and nice ambience

Tasty food, generous portion, and decent price. This place is a mixture of Vietnamese food, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese. (A.k.a European Asian restaurants. But the food was good!

Unfortunately, I had very bad nausea from eating that evening and threw up shortly after going to the restaurant. I'm really sorry to write, but I can't recommend the food. I was there because I was starving after work and needed something quick to eat. But later I noticed the poor big fish in the aquarium that was way too small. Very sad and not ok. One service tried hard, the other less so. I would have even ordered a papaya salad if she hadn't left so quickly. I had the peanut chicken. The chicken was much more fatty than expected and reminded me more of duck. The peanut sauce was very tasty, but I found it a bit small for so many noodles and there were no vegetables. Unfortunately it wasn't really my thing at all, even though it looked good at first glance.

This is one of my favorite spots for red curry and baked makis in berlin. Try the ebi roll and the wildberry sour! Its not that expensive and the service is super kind :)

I like to eat here when I'm around, normally by lunch. It's always fresh and tasty. I just find some options expensive. But never disappointed me.

I had udon noodles and they were really good served with Salad, all my friends too enjoyed vegetarian options with Tofu! Also loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and Japanese themes!

I've been here quite often because the sushi prices were unbeatable and the food was delicious. However, I would like to draw attention to the fish keeping in the aquariums. They cram large fish and far too many into tiny tanks, and some have hygiene problems. Since I first noticed this, I no longer go there because I don't want to support it.

Cozy and beautifully decorated Thai restaurant. We came at lunchtime and it was busy. Service is friendly. My menu lacked the nuts and holiday memories in the taste. A little sophisticated sauce would have been good with the punch. Portions are large.

Kind of generic Chinese food. Too sweet; too little nuances; over cooked noodles. Using German and English; we were lost in translation multiple times; was very frustrating. Asked me to pay first; than told me my leftlovers were thrown away instead of packed as a doggy bag; that was the final straw.

We are not from Berlin and still come here regularly. It's always delicious.. I can only recommend it to everyone.🤌🏼

The portions are quite large and correspond to the price. The staff was friendly to us and didn't rush us while we spent a long time choosing our order. Our order was prepared quite quickly. If you haven't finished eating yet, the rest will be packed up for you to take away. I will come here again

Me and my friends were at this restaurant. My two friends came earlier and ordered food, we joined them later and wanted to order something and sat down to their table. Waitress came to us and instead of giving us menu or at least telling politely that the kitchen is already closed, she just pointed finger at us and told us „you two go”. I’ve never met such an arrogant and rude waiter before. The place looks nice though, my friends said the food was good too. But this behaviour was unacceptable, I don’t recommend.

A very good shop and very open. Only the aquarium has a negative impact. The food was amazing there. The sushi was a 10/10 no matter which one you ordered. We were in Berlin for 6 days and ate there 3 times because it was so delicious. All four enjoyed it. The duck is also recommended because it is very crispy and not too dry. What I can recommend is the mango shake. What was tasty but not that convincing was the beef. (bit of a toe but still tasty) The service is super friendly, nice and polite. It is also very inexpensive and you can pay by card. We would love to come back on our next trip.

Yesterday I went there the staff was too rude don't have any manner to talk with customer anyhow I ordered food while waiting I went inside because of sunshine and hot weather the waitress bring to me sushi but the way she was coming to me food fell down she pick it up and went back and she bring back same food I fel dust parts in my mouth when I complained they became rude and said I have to pay for food even I didn't ate

Personally, I didn't find the food tasty. There was something in the sousse that made me feel sick. Addendum: I probably got food poisoning from the food!

The food is fresh and tasty (try Pad Thai), the staff are friendly, the vibe is cozy, and they accept card payments. Try pairing your food with an Asahi beer or a Kirin beer and you’ll thank me later 😋😇

Ordered there and it was below average. Unfortunately it's not worth recommending - I've had much better food at the snack bar. We ordered soup and sushi as main courses. The delivery went smoothly and quickly

I've been a regular customer there for about 2 years but never again!!!!! There is no greeting, always in a bad mood, no service nixxx. I paid more for the wrong food. On the next visit, they asked about it and there was no response, no apology, just nothing. And when it came to paying, I wasn't asked about it, which I would have expected. Instead, they just radiated a bad mood. Ciaooo and NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

The restaurant offers delicious food and friendly and attentive service in a cozy atmosphere. The selection of dishes, especially the vegetarian options, is diverse. The service can also give very good advice on the dishes. Unfortunately, there can be a cold draft when the door is opened, affecting comfort. I had the mango curry with tofu and Tom Kha soup with tofu. Both recommended. Overall a recommendation, but better on warmer days :) Thank you!

Great place with vegan duck options!

First what I didn't find so suitable: Nicely furnished but the cables from the aquarium are hanging around messily. Unfortunately the music was also terrible and too loud. I ordered something from the lunch special, outside of "lunch time", that was possible and I thought it was nice. I chose avocado-coconut-green curry sauce, which wasn't described as spicy on the menu. Unfortunately it came out pretty spicy. I had to let it go back. The food was then brought back to me milder without any problem. I thought that was great. The baked chicken was crispy. I'll come back, but then I'll have to ask first which dish is spicy or not. Prices are also great and not overpriced.

This evening we were in Pitaya for the first time, spontaneously as a group of five without a reservation and were given a very friendly welcome. Nice atmosphere, very friendly hosts. The food came quickly and was very tasty, actually without glutamate. Very good value for money. You have achieved your goal: customers go home satisfied! We can recommend the restaurant without hesitation!

It was our first time at Pitaya and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice ambience. Nice, friendly service. Very good food. Inexpensive and very tasty. We weren't here for the last time. I can highly recommend it.

The food was great. Service minus. I've been there many times, if you just want to eat then you can order. The next day I was heavily pregnant and asked if I could use the toilet, everyone looked at me and said NO, that's not possible, our toilet is only for guests. I argued with them but no. I wanted to pay worry. I find it mean and inhumane. Me, my friends and family will never come here again. !!! Keep your food

Ordered #1 & #34c Normally, the rolls come with a peanut sauce "internationally," and the sweet & sour sauce is not a good match. When it comes to Pho, I specifically asked if it has tripe in it, but when the order came, the sprouts were not fresh, no basil, and no tripe! Service wasn't great as the waiter took the drink before asking if we were dome with it and the music is off at 22:00

Keine gute Adresse für vegan / vegetarisch lebende Menschen In meinem Veganen essen waren mehrere Fleischstücke. Nachdem ich ein Fleischstück gegessen habe, gab ich es zurück. Es wurde direkt angenommen und mir ein neues zubereitet. Nachdem ich das halb gegessen hatte vielen mir wieder ein etwas kleineres Fleischstück auf. Weiter essen wollte ich nicht. Statt 8,5 € musste ich zwar nur 5 € bezahlen. Extrem Ekelig war es trotzdem.

ich hatte gelbes Curry mit Ente. mit vielen Kartoffeln einer halben Zwiebel und ein paar dünnen Schnitzen Möhre. Ananas fehlte. essen war scharf und schmeckte leicht verdorben. Mango Lassi hat nicht lecker geschmeckt. Schade.

Alles was ich dort bisher bestellt habe war sehr lecker. Komme immer wieder gern. Im Gegensatz zu allen anderen Gastros sind sie mit den Preisen noch moderat geblieben. Finde Preis/Leistung exzellent. Das Personal ist auch richtig nett.

If 7 hungry and sometimes picky guys sit down for dinner and none of them have anything bad to say about the food, that’s really something. Tasty, tasty, tasty!

Relativ unscheinbar inmitten einer Reihe zahlloser Imbiss-Restaurants, Bars, Teestuben etc. befindet sich dieser Vietnamese: Schönes Ambiente, außen etwas laut, da direkt an vielbefahrener Straße. Essen qualitativ sehr gut, schön angerichtet, Bedienung mit Berliner Freundlichkeit, einen halben Punkteabzug gibts für die Bilder auf den Toiletten: ich will nicht selbst noch beim Essengehen vom Staat belehrt werden, wann und wie ich meine Hände zu waschen habe (siehe letztes Foto).

Zu versalzen. Schon zum dritten mal. Ich bin da eher anspruchslos und denke es kann immer mal passieren, dass das Essen an einem Tag weniger gut schmeckt. Aber 4.4 Sterne spiegeln definitiv nicht die echte Qualität der Gerichte

Very cozy atmosphere and delicious food

Essen war sehr gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Es gibt für jeden was, Sushi, Thai oder Viet. Einer von wenigen Plätzen in Berlin, wo man noch Abendessen unter 10 Euro bekommt. Sie hatten auch eine spezielle Lunch Karte. 1 Stern Abzug bei Service, weil Lachs statt Ente gebracht wurde. Sie haben aber nett gefragt, ob ich das auch nehmen würde oder eben die Ente.

Das Restaurant hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Getränk Limo und Essen haben super gut geschmeckt und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Die Preise sind auch relativ günstig. Ich empfehle es weiter.

Relativ unscheinbare Lokalität, aber uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Netter und schneller Service, sehr leckere Sushi und Suppen. Extrawünsche werden sofort erfüllt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolute TOP!!

Really nice and authentic food. Tried the fried duck special was very nice. We ordered a papaya salad as starter it was also very good but the amount papaya was very very little.

Ich hatte Ngon Bowl (mit Lachs in Noriblättern) und war sehr zufrieden. Gut abgeschmeckt, würde ich wieder bestellen. Und die Bedienung war sehr herzlich.

Absolut Top! Egal ob alleine, zu zweit, ein romantischer Abend oder in der Gruppe. Sehr gutes Essen und gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis, freundliche Bedienung. Achtung: Von außen sieht das Lokal nicht so toll aus, wie es innen ist. Top!

It’s a lot of mediocre-quality food, for the price of a very good dish elsewhere. The pho bo lacks the distinctive aroma, and the beef is fully cooked. The Vietnamese curry has absolutely no fresh veggies, and the duck breading was completely soggy half way through the meal. The curry itself was more like a soup. Come here for quantity > quality.

Ich habe mich aufgrund des Gerichtes „Pad Thai“ am heutigen Tag für dieses Restaurant entschieden. Da es ein klassisches Gericht der thailändisches Küche ist, dachte ich, es würde auch traditionell zubereitet werden. Leider kein Genuss, da es total matschig/ wässrig, in einer unkonventionellen Soße mit Zitrone anstelle von Limetten serviert wird. Auch der Papaya Salat wenig traditionell. Weder der Geschmack noch der Inhalt haben mich überzeugt (ebenfalls sehr matschig) und kleine Scheiben einer Zitrone im Salat sind für meinen Geschmack auch super störend.

Immer wieder sehr lecker. Frische und schnelle Zubereitung, super Gastfreundlichkeit, tolles Ambiente. Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert.

Fantastisches, authentisches Essen. Wir waren in unseren 4 Tagen in Berlin 2 mal hier, obwohl wir laut Tripadvisor oder auch Google einige "bessere" Restaurants in der Nähe hatten. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet, schmeckt fantastisch und kostet vergleichsweise nichts. Einen kleinen Abzug für die Caipirinhas, die waren nicht perfekt aber bei dem Essen drückt man eh alle Augen zu Gerne wieder

Unglaublich leckeres Essen! Die Smoothies sind einfach Klasse. Das Personal sehr bemüht. Einfach mega.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen. Besonders mochte ich den Thai Milk Tea, weil er nicht zu süß war. Die Suppe war super cremig, etwas süß durch die Kokosmilch und sogar vegan. Die Sommerrollen ebenfalls lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und schnell.

Mir war das vietnamesisch thailändische Nachbarrestaurant empfohlen worden, dort wollte ich eigentlich hin und ich hatte nicht mit der Dichte vietnamesisch thailändischer Restaurants in Berlin gerechnet - so kam ich zum Pitaya. Ich freute mich auf der Karte meine Lieblingsspeise krosse geröstete Ente in roter Kokosmilch-Currysauce auf Gemüse zu finden und bestellte diese ebenso wie einen Ingwertee, nachdem ich mich zuvor versicherte, dass er auch mit frischem Ingwer hergestellt wird. Nach auffällig kurzer Zeit wurde mir das Gericht gebracht - getrennt die Ente mit der Soße und dem Gemüse und einem kleinen Kegel Reis auf einem extra Teller - die Soße war vorzüglich abgeschmeckt, allerdings fiel mir sogleich auf, dass extrem spärlich Gemüse unter der Ente lag, bei der Ente fiel aus, dass die Scheiben zwar schön dünn geschnitten waren, allerdings war die Haut in keiner Weise als kross oder knusprig zu bezeichnen, an einigen Stellen war das Fleisch auch zäh, ließ sich jedoch gerade noch kauen. Das Gericht war warm, die Reismenge begrenzt (am Nachbar Tisch wurde Reis nachbestellt, da er auch dort zu knapp besessen war). Der Ingwertee wurde in einem Glas ohne jeden Henkel oder Wärmeschutz serviert, so dass es über nahezu das gesamte Essen der Ente nicht möglich war dazu etwas zu trinken, da das Glas nicht anzufassen war aufgrund der Hitze. Ansonsten war der Ingwertee in Ordnung, es wurde auch Honig in einer Plastikflasche gereicht um ihn gegebenenfalls etwas zu süßen. Extrem unangenehm war allerdings, dass nur etwa 3 m von mir entfernt und mit dem Gesicht mir zugewandt ein vom äußeren Aspekt her älterer Chinese über Minimum 10 Minuten extrem laut über die Freisprechanlage seines Mobiltelefons telefonierte und überhaupt keinerlei Respekt gegenüber den dort speisenden Gästen zeigte. Dieser Mann gehörte auch noch ganz offensichtlich zum Restaurant, da er später auch teils hinter dem Tresen stand - ob es sich dabei um den Besitzer, den Vater der Bedienung oder sonst wen gehandelt hat ist eigentlich dabei völlig belanglos, weil ein solches Verhalten in einem Speiselokal während dort Gäste unmittelbar daneben essen wollen völlig inakzeptabel ist. Von dem Essen bleibt der gute Geschmack der Soße mit zu wenig Gemüse, einer teilweise zähen, nicht krossen Ente, einem Ingwertee, den man zum Essen praktisch nicht trinken konnte und einem extrem respektlosen Mitarbeiter des Restaurants, so dass ich dieses definitiv Keinem weiterempfehlen kann. Sehr schade.

können Sie mal bitte die Fische im Aquarium füttern und überhaupt ist das Aquarium viel zu klein für die Fische, die sahen echt hungrig aus und haben nach Essen gesucht, wie kann man Lebewesen so halten ?

Gemütlich und typisch asiatische Einrichtung. Das vornehmlich thailändische Essen wird hier noch traditionell und sehr gut hergestellt. PREIS/LEISTUNGSVERHÄLTNIS ist hervorragend, von daher eine klare Empfehlung!

One of the best sushi places in Berlin. You must order the Pitaya Roll, this is a deep-fried sushi roll with salmon inside, it's amazing.

Bin hier regelmäßig und es gab noch nicht eine einzige Speise die mir nicht gefallen hat. Das Ambiente ist total schön und mit viel Holz gearbeitet. Ich liebe es hier!

I like it because you can get deep-fried sushi (tempura) here and that's not super Common in Berlin and is tasty and the service is good. I would not recommend the sashimi since mine was frozen in the middle still. But for the price and where we are you can't really expect a recent catch either.
