Pier99 in Nordhorn

I'm definitely not one to write unpleasant reviews, but this was really disappointing! Although we were registered as a group of 15 people, the breakfast buffet was more than poor. Scrambled eggs were only made in small quantities, which were immediately empty as soon as you made your way there. At first there was no butter. When this was refilled, there were no more rolls for a long time.

Unfortunately no photo! Food was rather poor and for the prices it's honestly a disappointment! Pizza wasn't anything special and the burger wasn't that great either! Location is great, but not everything. No clean floor in the winter garden, my dog ​​loved it and basically replaced the vacuum cleaner, at least under our table. I'm sorry, but this needs urgent optimization and if I have to pay rather high prices, I also expect a well-kept shop and a decent kitchen with reasonable, fresh food.

Very good food and nice service. The menu includes some vegetarian and some vegan dishes. The view of Lake Vechte is very relaxing. When the temperatures are warm you can also sit outside. Brunch is also highly recommended.

Very overpriced, staff are friendly but never really there when you want them. Overall very disappointed. I have been here before and am very disappointed that they have let their standards fall, have made their portions smaller and have more or less doubled their prices. Won't see me again in a hurry.

The food was super tasty, nothing to complain about! The staff was friendly, but unfortunately our waiter was very easily irritated. He seemed very impatient and annoyed when I had to translate for my non-German speaking friend. Restaurant is a bit too dark for my taste, but it's definitely bearable!

The location was nice and it was easy to park, even though it was a Sunday and quite busy. BUT... at first the menu was thrown on the table indifferently and then the food was only served lukewarm, almost cold. Since we were extremely hungry and didn't have much time, we didn't say anything since everything was taking quite a long time anyway. For the price, the taste didn't really blow us away.

Staff very friendly, but you have to wait a while until someone comes. The food and cocktails are definitely not bad. There's something about having a cocktail in the evening and chatting in a relaxed manner in this ambience!

The breakfast today on Sunday was, to put it simply, very bad. Wasn't worth the money. There was hardly any refilling and the rolls and bread were not baked enough. Bread and rolls still frozen on the inside, etc. I don't want to write more because......

We were there for breakfast with a larger group. The service is nice and friendly! However, the dishes had not been cleared away in the meantime, so we used a next table to put away the dishes for reasons of space. The ambience was once very nice, but is now in need of renovation. The cutlery was already very worn with scratches etc. Unfortunately it wasn't clean either. The same picture for cups and glasses. Limescale residues or residues stick to cups, glasses and saucers. So there was no follow-up work here after rinsing. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was left to be desired. Everything was refilled as soon as it was empty.

Very friendly staff, quick and helpful. Unfortunately the food wasn't to our liking. In our opinion, the main courses consisted almost exclusively of convenience products and were not even seasoned afterwards, salad without dressing. The pumpkin soup was a bright spot, nicely prepared and the taste was great. Prices are better than the food.

Food, service and ambience fantastic

With 30 guests present and around 5 conditions and at least 1 bartender, you can expect a friendly welcome at the entrance, especially since we had reserved. Unfortunately very clumsy. After we had food and drinks we were no longer noticed at all. We would have liked to have treated ourselves to one or two cocktails that could have made up for the bad food. We really don't have high standards, but mistreating a burger like this and designing it carelessly borders on incompetence and disrespect for the product and also the guest. We ate it, which doesn't mean it tasted good, but because it was food. Unfortunately, the starter listed as a tip on the menu was a flop. By braised and grilled vegetables I mean that they are fresh and warm not old and cold and by cold I mean fridge cold. We ate our way through it because we were hungry after 12 hours. I'm sorry but that was a -6. AMBIENCE: The location is awesome and the tables should have a closed top! (leftover food in the cracks) But that didn't bother us! The only problem here again is the staff! Instead of taking care of the guests and perhaps clearing unoccupied tables or clearing other people's tables after the meal or let alone taking further drink orders, chair cushions are collected at 8 p.m. in order to drive home at 10 p.m. There's no nice way to say that. Conclusion: We were VERY looking forward to Pier 99, but were so disappointed that we neither recommend it nor will we ever come back! If these were my employees I would jump in the octagon and do a roundabout flip! I deliberately write this feedback a day later in order to avoid direct influences and to consciously address what the owners cannot and should not like!

Food very tasty! Went there often with the family years ago. This year for my birthday, however, it was a disappointment when it came to service. Food came before drinks. We actually wanted to toast our birthday but were simply no longer served, so we left the restaurant after about an hour...

The food is OK, you have to wait forever for the service, you can hardly order or reorder something to drink, and when the service does come you won't be understood because the service doesn't speak much German. It's very loud , so you can't have a conversation.

Very good breakfast buffet. Huge selection with something for every taste. Around midday also supplemented with extensive warm dishes. The service was friendly at all times. Always there but never intrusive. The premises are large and the restaurant is well attended. At the beginning you have to orient yourself a bit to find everything. Sometimes you have to be a little patient at the buffet, but everything is always there. We will definitely go back.

Price performance is not right, schnitzels are beaten to 2mm and served here. It doesn't work at all. The food tastes good.

Vandaag een mooie en vooral lekkere brunch gehad ter ere van mijn man zijn 75 ste verjaardag. We waren met 50 personen. Iedereen was zeer tevreden.

Wonderful place to eat. Delicious pizzas and pasta, but also burgers and schnitzel. Very beautifully situated on the water.

I had dinner here with friends and it was really nice. The ambience and service were great. Very kind and helpful. We were served very quickly and the selection of drinks in particular is huge. The food was incredibly tasty and a large portion. For dessert we had ice cream, which was very lovingly decorated and also very tasty.

We ate at Pier 99 for the first time in September 2024. We were served quickly and friendly. We had pizza, Neptune salad (with fish) and pasta. We all really enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely go there again. Thanks again to the whole team.

Are you serious? If I could, I would give 0 out of 5 stars. What happened to me and my 14 guests, all of whom came from out of town, last Saturday was underground. I was really ashamed of what was offered to me there. Despite reservations, nothing was prepared. In our presence, the tables were pushed together so that it was still visible what the previous guests had eaten. After that we were left to our fate. We were only able to place an order after I had to intercept a waitress. To sum it up: hot drinks don't deserve their name, if they were brought at all. The waitress couldn't distinguish an apple juice spritzer from an iced tea or assign it to other drinks on the tablet. The cake selection at 2:30 p.m. was limited to two cakes - which were lying very unappetizingly in the display case, along with the empty, crumb-covered and dried cake plates. Someone had probably dared to strike there before us or they simply didn't feel like cleaning up here. By the way, when I made my reservation by phone, I specifically asked whether cake would be offered. This was even really praised. Because this made me so uncomfortable with my guests, I occasionally contacted the service manager and expressed my displeasure. He apologized and said someone would come to us shortly. After that, I waited forever again, nothing changed. I myself ordered tea, which was served lukewarm after 45 minutes in a dirty cup. I brought it back in a rage and loudly expressed my displeasure again. My guests received their drinks by the drizzle. Since the drinks we ordered didn't arrive, one of the guests got up and got his drinks from the outside terrace (self-service). We are still waiting for some dishes and drinks today... My conclusion: We left this place early. How can you mess it up like that...? Is this how you treat guests? You won't see me there again any time soon.

We wanted to have coffee this morning. Unfortunately we were not allowed to do this. Only for the guests of the house. Very disappointing. That was new to us. Then the business meeting had to take place in a café in Klausheide. With top service and great quality. I can recommend it. If Pier99 no longer wants guests in the morning, I have to accept that and go to Klausheide in the future.

Great atmosphere, great shop. Service is poor, you have to fetch someone first so you can place your order. Price wise OK, the schnitzel was beaten to 2mm and breaded. That doesn't work at all. No recommendation to eat there.

This evening we sat on the lower terrace with a beautiful view of Lake Vechte. In addition to the good weather, we also had very nice and very attentive service. Melanie made everything possible!!!! There were 4 of us this evening at Pier 99! The service lady (MELANIE) was very personable, friendly and funny! :) Keep it up! We would be happy to come back with these conditions! However, I have to say that the food was very poor. I could count the tortellini on one hand... kind regards, Jane

“Relaxing on Lake Vechte” is how you would like to describe the house, but there is a lot missing for relaxation. Well furnished house with a good atmosphere thanks to the cozy lighting and lots of wood all around. The location by the lake is beautiful, the artificial fireplace creates atmosphere. The food is good, the staff has a tough time here, but is always friendly. Unfortunately, the house is overly expensive and the constant blast of music is just annoying. According to the reviews, the 4.1 rating I see here today comes primarily from this nice music. If it's someone's birthday, it's turned up even louder (in the ego instead of in common life). It's a bit like birthday parties at McDonald's in the ball pit. From the age of 50 onwards you no longer need it. At the weekend, pseudo-mothers let their children scream and rage while other people want to eat in peace. In addition, on weekends at lunchtime there are always misunderstandings that you won't be served because the staff assumes that everyone wants to go to the buffet. Just avoid it completely on weekends. The male staff (the previous female staff has probably left) repeatedly ignores intolerances, which is why they are devalued today. Opening from September 2024 only from 12 p.m. on weekdays. It's getting worse...

Where do you start, where do you end? Our reserved table was given to another group. It took 15 minutes to set up replacement tables before we could sit down. At no point was anything even remotely available at breakfast: whether it was bread/rolls, drinks or even cold cuts, there was never really anything there. We noticed other guests talking to the staff very angrily. The staff's answer: “they are understaffed and there is no other option”. We actually wanted to have breakfast here on Saturday and brunch here on Sunday, but after this relevant experience we canceled the reservation for Sunday. We won't be coming back. It's a shame because the location is quite nice and the location is great. The price is 0 justified

We came here spontaneously on a Sunday afternoon after visiting Oosterik with four people. There was enough space. The service came quickly to take the order, 3x Vechtelümmel (very large currywurst with fries mayo) and one tortellini casserole. The currywurst tasted very good, as did the fries. However, we thought that the portion of fries should have been larger than just a handful given the price of the dish was 11 euros. According to our daughter, the tortellini taste much better at home.

Unfortunately it's no longer the great pier it once was. We were there for brunch. Breakfast was actually enough for us, but it is no longer offered on Sundays. - The juice machine was broken, so there was warm, watery orange juice from the carafe - Eggs can only be found at the 2nd brunch buffet. Unfortunately they are all cold. Replenishment was not possible. - Rolls, cheap baked rolls. At this price you would at least expect fresh rolls of quality. The service staff is certainly difficult to find, but they should receive some training. A little more friendliness and hygiene must be a given. The rolls were filled into the basket, each one handled by hand. It shouldn't be like that. Otherwise the offer is very extensive. However, we had no appetite or the desire to wait any longer for the warm food. An arrangement might be an idea. In the meantime, with a wristband or token, you could use the time for a walk around the beautiful Vechtesee or a Treetboot tour, for example. Maybe an idea ;) The ambience is nice, but you shouldn't think about what's in the cracks in the wood. The great thing is the e-bike charging station at the entrance. However, there is no pole or stand to properly secure an e-bike.

At the beginning of September, Saturday afternoon, wonderful weather, you're happy to sit comfortably by the water and then the Captain's Deck isn't open.

We had called in advance about a gluten-free diet, it was said that a salad meal was gluten-free, but this turned out to be a non-filling salad with only vegetables and cheese. The menu had a legend (if there was no letter A, it was gluten-free according to the menu) I wanted to order fries with bratwurst because there was no A, but according to the employee this was not gluten-free. So I wanted to choose from a salad and the waiter said he would be back, I signaled to him that we were done with our choices, he walked to another table and then completely ignored us. We left again after 1 hour. NOT recommended for people who need to eat gluten-free

Today was our third time at Pier 99 and we are more and more disappointed every time. At the entrance there are already stacks of dirty glasses on the counter, which doesn't look particularly inviting. Next the waiter came and wanted to collect even though we hadn't eaten anything yet. Many waiters don't know how to serve. Service desert Germany. Sorry, but you can't excuse everything with a lack of skilled workers.

Tuesday, half past five, few tables occupied, but actually enough staff there. I just don't know what they did. I didn't manage to order a second drink during 1 hour after the first. Tables that had been free for half an hour were not cleared. And the food was okay, but you'd be surprised if a schnitzel was on the table within 5 minutes. That somehow went too quickly, but the waiter wasn't seen again after that. I finally paid at the counter... but the young, friendly man barely understood any German, so he only answered my criticism with a shrug of his shoulders. What's great is the location and the restaurant itself, i.e. this ambience. But it was my second attempt, not anymore. It's actually a shame...

We went there twice and it was super bad twice! The high prices are not justified. Not recommended the store!!!

Went there for dinner on two evenings due to an arrangement from the Riverside Hotel. On the first evening we ordered a Vitello Tonnato as a starter, the dish was inedible, completely over salted and over peppered, as well as too much vinegar, you couldn't even taste the high quality meat. Then came a burger, completely dry, actually inedible, on the second evening we ordered a beef rump steak, which we returned immediately, it was tough and still raw on the inside. Due to our bad experiences, we will not be visiting this restaurant again and will not recommend it to others, we have never eaten so badly! The morning breakfast was also completely chaotic, staff completely overwhelmed, queues at the two coffee machines, and both of them were broken down. We waited for over three quarters of an hour to get a coffee. We will never spend our short vacation there again because of the miserable food, which is a shame because the hotel is very good!!!!!!

I like to form my own opinion. We still have a chance against the whole thing, but unfortunately it's a complete disaster for the store. It's a real shame, but that's how it is. After a 2.5 hour drive we just wanted a coffee and a piece of cake. Arrived, free choice of seats. No problem. We sat down at the sunny window. Cards were already on the tables. After speaking to one of the staff for 17 minutes, our order was taken. It took a full 15 minutes to get the coffee. After another 12 minutes we stopped the whole thing because the cake wasn't there by then. After we pointed out to the waitress that we were only paying for the coffee and the cake had to be canceled, she realized that no cake had been booked. Unfortunately not even 1 star!!!

Breakfast (brunch) is available until 1:00 PM. At 12:00 PM, 2 containers were already empty and were no longer replenished. Breakfast included coffee, tea and water. I was charged for this and after a lot of whining I got it back, I won't go there again, too expensive for what you get

We were there after the big "run," lunch. We sat outside because the weather was inviting. The very unfriendly waitress explained that there was no service outside. No problem, we get our coffee ourselves to take it outside. Unfortunately that wasn't allowed either. We won't be visiting Pier 99 anymore and will tell our friends in Lingen about the experience. Wij kwamen met een groep waterfietsen voor en na de de tijd wat gedronken,mijn buurvrouw had de cafe een zak je prut in heet water ,haar mond zat vol koffieprut,mijn koffie was goed,en ander buurvrouw had lauwe koffie,had we ook een 3 kwartier op gewacht voor de koffie kwam.Na de. Fietstocht die leuk was nog wat gedronken ,maar schrokken ook van de prijs.

The couple was asked if they would like to change tables, this was answered in the negative. As a result, we were put in the last unsightly corner and skillfully ignored by the waitress. We had to wait forever for any service and were even given the wrong orders. It really wasn't a nice stay for us.

Unfortunately the waitress spoke absolutely no German. After repeating the order several times, she still didn't understand it and I had to show it to her on the menu. In a German restaurant you can expect a certain basic knowledge of German from the service staff.

Unfortunately it's no longer the way it used to be. Service doesn't even ask if everything is OK. You wait a long time until you are served. Volume too loud in the lower range. We had pizza where the crust was too hard. Everything has become quite expensive, so such a service is no longer acceptable.

Unfortunately the service at Pier 99 is very poor! During our visit we had to wait for over half an hour before a service person even noticed us and took our order, even though we had reserved! The drinks were then served at different times so that not everyone had something to drink. The food was there before the drinks, which wasn't well planned either. We had to keep asking for a new order and no service person came to our table on their own. We won't be coming back any time soon. It's a shame because the atmosphere is great!
