Nice ambiance, but disastrous service – we left disappointed The place is really nice and very dog-friendly – ​​we were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, the service was so poor that we didn't even stay for dinner. Some of our drinks were forgotten, even though our order had been taken digitally – absolutely incomprehensible. After a long wait and no improvement, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Given the prices and the upscale nature of the place, we had expected much more. It's a shame, because the ambiance really had potential.

Very nice sitting outside lots of space inside too but close together. Extensive menu.. the hamburger I had the normal one was disappointing... little taste bun not special... gyros burger was also disappointing little.. a lot of bread.. fries hard.. pizza was tasty

The food was completely cold except for the fries, the cocktail was missing an ingredient, the mayo we ordered came after the meal, and the appetizer was very spicy. We were there with 20 people. This was a previous experience. Great during the week. On the weekend, it seems as if various employees are overwhelmed or overworked.

A restaurant with a view over the water, or at least that's what you expect. Unfortunately we were put in a dark corner with a view of the walls. We were 4 people, 2 had already finished the starter before the 2 others got something. The waiter thought the starter was the main course and wanted to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. The zsl was dry and hard, the vegetables were greasy. The mixed grill was fine but overcooked and the vegetables greasy. The chicken burgers were too greasy. Wederon asked the waiter himself to clear the dishes and for desert. You have to ask yourself before paying. Considering the quality of the food and the view, I didn't like it that much

The location is great and unbeatable in Nordhorn. However, in our opinion it has decreased extremely. We've been there twice now and weren't served either time. We sat outside and quite far to the edge (even in a beach chair), but no one came to serve us. There was no one within reach so you could point it out in a friendly manner. It was busy and very busy, but something like that shouldn't happen. After more than 45 minutes we left again for the last time.

The pizza and schnitzel also came with about 15 minutes - not ideal if you want to eat together. In terms of taste, the pizza was rather average, but the schnitzel unfortunately seemed like a finished product. The waiter was friendly and helpful, but difficult to reach. Overall, unfortunately not a place we would recommend for food - even if the ambience definitely has potential.

Fries, lukewarm, the citizen's meat was almost cold and tough. The food came so quickly as if it had been ready a long time ago. I don't go here anymore. The table, the surroundings and the men's toilet were very dirty.

I'm really sorry for the hard-working service and a negative review here, but... on several evenings in a row you can see that not only are the glasses dirty (yes, you can repeatedly find the remains of the lime from the cocktail beforehand in the glasses for the Chardonnay), but the glasses (in my case) are always poured well below the calibration mark. With a glass of rather cheap wine for 7.50 euros, the "skimping" leaves a strange feeling. If you ordered 0.5 liters of Chardonnay, I ended up with 0.4 liters of Riesling with two incredibly dirty glasses that didn't appear to have been cleaned at all. As hotel guests we really enjoyed the hotel, but at Pier99 I have to admit we only have bad memories of the evening. I actually experienced guests who simply took a crate of beer out of the trunk of their car and sat down by the lake. My very personal and objective opinion: a restaurant where you can guess the cocktails from before in several glasses, where you sell the customer Riesling for Chardonnay and always pour less than what you paid for should be concerned...

I can only recommend it, I had the very tasty Rote Grütze Twister, you have to try it. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Extraordinary ambience directly on Lake Vechte.

I would like to renew my review after a long time (old review at the end) The ambience in Pier99 is still great and the outside terrace has become great, but now the important thing in a restaurant, the food is ok, but now that the prices have risen quite a bit, the portions are now getting smaller or ingredients such as eggs and olives, which were always on the salad and are listed on the menu, are no longer there. Unfortunately, the visit to Pier99 convinces me less and less ' from 2022: "We have always enjoyed eating, drinking and relaxing here. After the break, due to Corona and renovation, we were finally able to enjoy the usual good service and food again. There will be a new menu in the near future, which will also include several vegetarian dishes. I look forward to it."

We were guests here today. The atmosphere was really nice, as was the service. The bowl was visually appealing. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't quite my cup of tea. The one missing point is the cold falafel and the cold chicken breast. For the price of almost 20 euros, I would have expected them to be freshly prepared and hot.

Had dinner with 4 people on Saturday. Ordered a mixed grill for 32 euros, scandalously little meat. But the worst is yet to come. Ordered 1 wine and afterwards there were 2 on the bill. My wife actually had to wait 15 minutes for them to come up with a solution for this. It didn't make any sense, in the end they wanted to charge a coke for this, but we still got our money back. We came here often now never again. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location with a beautiful view directly on Lake Vechte. Friendly & attentive service staff. Reservations are probably recommended in summer or on weekends. Unfortunately, the special fries were already quite cool on the short journey from the kitchen to the table... They would have been better off spending their "waiting time" in the deep fryer; then everyone would have been through. Pizza, salad and Twister couldn't be faulted, so I guess I was just unlucky. There will definitely be repeat visits. Maybe I can give one more star afterwards...

The only nice thing about the place is the view of Lake Vechte. Our table reservation was simply ignored and the staff was unable to find a solution. It took a while until a table was made available. We had to wait 30 minutes for drinks. The food was cold, the order wasn't fully "delivered" even though we asked the staff about it. It was simply ignored. Definitely not recommended!

There were four of us having breakfast on a Sunday. The buffet was overcrowded, long queues, there was hardly any choice after 11 a.m. and it wasn't refilled for a long time. Seating was very uncomfortable, wooden benches with a thin seat cushion. Will not have breakfast here again.

We were hotel guests at the Riverside Hotel and therefore didn't need to make a reservation. As a restaurant guest you should, because it was always well attended.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. Each of us found something we liked and we agreed that every dish was a hit. The service at Pier99 was also top notch. The staff was friendly, attentive and always made sure that we didn't lack anything. You can tell that people work here with heart and passion, which makes the visit even more pleasant. All in all, our evening at Pier99 was a complete success. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to coming back soon. We love walking around the lake and then having something delicious to eat and drink at Pier99.

Not again so soon! Very bad service. Completely overwhelmed! We waited in vain for quite a long time for our order, just coffee and cake. Even after politely asking twice, we received nothing. There was no apology or regret from the staff when we resignedly canceled our order and left the restaurant.

We met there for dinner. Large store and nicely decorated. Only 3 stars for the ambience because of the acoustics. As in many locations, this point is largely neglected. I didn't complain about that because the meat was delicious. Well-done but not dry and with good roasting ingredients. As written, really tasty overall, very tasty sauce. We had a burger at the table and it tasted good too. Plus a cold beer from Veltin on tap and very good cocktails for dessert. Can be done well.

We went to Pier99 for brunch last Sunday as a group of 5 girls. The atmosphere is generally nice, although the walk to the buffet is too long. You could organize this better by setting up the buffet in two different places in the restaurant (e.g. have a coffee machine/cold cuts/rolls available where the egg dishes were). Basically, the breakfast buffet offered was very tasty. There was a lot to try out (4-5 different types of muesli, different types of fresh fruit, lactose-free/vegan milk types, etc.). What was really, really terrible, however, is that between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. the entire buffet was EXTREMELY DOWN and EMPTY, even though we pointed this out to the service staff. How can it take 1.5 hours to add fruit or bacon? It was really a tragedy and totally ruined our mood. You could basically go to the buffet once and then wait over 1.5 hours for the second round. NOT WORKING AT ALL!! Another negative point: the food at the warm buffet was not labeled. No idea what kind of soup was in the pot, and there was hardly any service staff there to ask. As nice as the location is, as long as the organization of the breakfast buffet stays the same, as some others have written in their reviews, we will NOT be coming back. Very, very unfortunate!!

Busy noisy food shed. What a shame we ate here. Food was way too greasy and not tasty. Requested for my daughter to have Gouda cheese on her gnocchi instead of Parmesan cheese. Later it is said that there is no Gouda cheese, while it is standard on many multi-course dishes. So they just didn't feel like it. When we got home we found out that they had paid way too much Never again!

I'm definitely not one to write unpleasant reviews, but this was really disappointing! Although we were registered as a group of 15 people, the breakfast buffet was more than poor. Scrambled eggs were only made in small quantities, which were immediately empty as soon as you made your way there. At first there was no butter. When this was refilled, there were no more rolls for a long time.

Location is great, but not everything. No clean floor in the winter garden, my dog ​​loved it and basically replaced the vacuum cleaner, at least under our table. We were there for breakfast with a larger group. The service is nice and friendly! However, the dishes had not been cleared away in the meantime, so we used a next table to put away the dishes for reasons of space. The ambience was once very nice, but is now in need of renovation. The cutlery was already very worn with scratches etc. Unfortunately it wasn't clean either. The same picture for cups and glasses. Limescale residues or residues stick to cups, glasses and saucers. So there was no follow-up work here after rinsing. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was left to be desired. Everything was refilled as soon as it was empty.

Very friendly staff, quick and helpful. Unfortunately the food wasn't to our liking. In our opinion, the main courses consisted almost exclusively of convenience products and were not even seasoned afterwards, salad without dressing. The pumpkin soup was a bright spot, nicely prepared and the taste was great. Prices are better than the food.

With 30 guests present and around 5 conditions and at least 1 bartender, you can expect a friendly welcome at the entrance, especially since we had reserved. Unfortunately very clumsy. After we had food and drinks we were no longer noticed at all. We would have liked to have treated ourselves to one or two cocktails that could have made up for the bad food. We really don't have high standards, but mistreating a burger like this and designing it carelessly borders on incompetence and disrespect for the product and also the guest. We ate it, which doesn't mean it tasted good, but because it was food. Unfortunately, the starter listed as a tip on the menu was a flop. By braised and grilled vegetables I mean that they are fresh and warm not old and cold and by cold I mean fridge cold. We ate our way through it because we were hungry after 12 hours. I'm sorry but that was a -6. AMBIENCE: The location is awesome and the tables should have a closed top! (leftover food in the cracks) But that didn't bother us! The only problem here again is the staff! Instead of taking care of the guests and perhaps clearing unoccupied tables or clearing other people's tables after the meal or let alone taking further drink orders, chair cushions are collected at 8 p.m. in order to drive home at 10 p.m. There's no nice way to say that. Conclusion: We were VERY looking forward to Pier 99, but were so disappointed that we neither recommend it nor will we ever come back! If these were my employees I would jump in the octagon and do a roundabout flip! I deliberately write this feedback a day later in order to avoid direct influences and to consciously address what the owners cannot and should not like!

Food very tasty! Went there often with the family years ago. This year for my birthday, however, it was a disappointment when it came to service. Food came before drinks. We actually wanted to toast our birthday but were simply no longer served, so we left the restaurant after about an hour...

The food is OK, you have to wait forever for the service, you can hardly order or reorder something to drink, and when the service does come you won't be understood because the service doesn't speak much German. It's very loud , so you can't have a conversation.

Very good breakfast buffet. Huge selection with something for every taste. Around midday also supplemented with extensive warm dishes. The service was friendly at all times. Always there but never intrusive. The premises are large and the restaurant is well attended. At the beginning you have to orient yourself a bit to find everything. Sometimes you have to be a little patient at the buffet, but everything is always there. We will definitely go back.

We ate at Pier 99 for the first time in September 2024. We were served quickly and friendly. We had pizza, Neptune salad (with fish) and pasta. We all really enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely go there again. Thanks again to the whole team.
