I went there a few years ago with my family. It was the worst restaurant experience in Europe. The waiters were looking down on us the whole time, totally hostile towards us, it is even ridiculous and ironic given where they are from! On our way out a waiter who was not even waiting on our table blocked the exit and told us we could not leave unless we show him the receipt! Never experienced such treatment.I would not recommend to anyone! I hope karma has caught up with them by now!

Very tasty sushi buffet and optional a la carte. There are up to three sushi bands, and these are small boats on a small waterway. Even spontaneously, we always got a seat, although it can happen that you have to wait a few minutes at peak times. The food itself is great. There is all kinds of sushi: warm, cold, vegetarian, fish, meat, sweet. The prices are not cheap but doable. There are several price levels depending on how many plates you have, although the color of the plate is not important. If you wish, you can also get sushi plates that are not currently on the boats.

The fried noodles were extremely oily and not tasty at all. Also not very seasoned and not authentic Mie noodles, but rather spaghetti. The jasmine tea was okay, as were the vegetarian spring rolls. Price-performance was okay.

I used to come here regularly, now again after a while. We found the selection at the all you can eat buffet a bit poor and there were no longer 'big' drinks like before. The fortune cookies tasted strange too… The staff was friendly.

Food was okay. There isn't that much vegetarian food on the line, so you have to ask first. But there is a large selection of seafood, so oysters were also added to the line. But there was ice cream, which was brought to the table, which was a nice surprise

We have enjoyed going to Kim Phat for years and yesterday we went there again for a long time. We were a bit "cautious" because we had read the reviews recently and sometimes they weren't that good. However, we were not disappointed. The quality was still great, everything was fresh and delicious. The selection was good as usual. There were also oysters, which we particularly like to eat. The fried foods were hot and kept being placed on the boats. We haven't noticed any deterioration compared to last year, except that the price increase is huge. The maximum is 11-14 plates for the plate offers for €24.90. In addition, each plate costs €2. Of course you'll get full, but there's no talk of All You Can Eat anymore. The friendliness of the service could be better, but that was the case years ago. We would always go to Kim Phat as it is the sushi shop with the most selection in Giessen. The selection clearly sets it apart from other stores.

Food was ok, the view of the weekly market was very interesting.

The food was good but there were hundreds of flies in the interior and when you point this out, people don't react at all and just look at you angrily. When paying, I was treated unkindly. Everything somehow without rhyme or reason. The air conditioning is running and the door is open and it's 28 degrees outside. No wonder there are so many flies. That's not particularly exciting for the fish on the treadmill. So, this is my second negative experience in the store. They won't see me anymore!

You couldn't put together the plates yourself, the most expensive option was charged, otherwise good sushi, thick slices, good service, so I'll come back

The breaded dishes were all cold, the selection was small and the taste was generally not very convincing. The sushi was OK. At the beginning you get a card with reduced prices if you manage a certain number of plates. This was placed on the table without comment and it was only when I was paying that I was told that I should have said beforehand how many plates I wanted to eat. As a result, I had to pay the full price even though I ate two more plates to get a reduced price. When asked, the service wasn't particularly friendly either. Never again. I'd rather get sushi at a conventional Rewe, it's also made fresh and, in my opinion, tastes even better than in this restaurant.

Unfortunately it's getting worse and worse. The service is now a disaster. We took a seat outside and waited for someone to clear away our predecessors' glasses and at least say hello. After a while I called the waiter to let him know that we would like to order something. 5 minutes later the cards arrived. After that nothing happened for another quarter of an hour. It was indicated that they would be taken care of immediately. But again nothing happened. We left 10 minutes later, thirsty and hungry. So we spent about half an hour there without being seriously served. It doesn't work at all! I have 30 years of catering experience and can assess this quite well, especially because there was hardly anything going on inside due to the good weather. The rest of the store and the sushi have also gone way down. We only live a 3 minute walk away, but Kim Phat is dead to me. I don't have to leave any money abroad for something like that.

It was my first time eating sushi. Everything was very tasty and fresh. It was possible to try things out in a relaxed atmosphere ☺️....

So I like going here. And the food, especially the sushi and chicken, is always great. But the last time I was there before 4 p.m. Unfortunately, the assembly line was hardly used. And some of the plates had been moving around for a while. If you're in the mood for sushi. Better come around 7 p.m.

UPDATE: 07/13/2024 I was there again today. Unfortunately, there has been a price increase of between €2-3 on the plate offerings in the last few weeks. There is now less sushi for almost the same price. Apparently nothing has changed in terms of quality. ORIGINAL REVIEW: One of my favorite places for running sushi in the area. In principle, you have to be careful with this running sushi, as it is NOT an all-you-can-eat but is charged based on the number of plates - the so-called “plate offer”. It's best to ask for the “sushi menu” at the counter or from one of the waiters. I actually recommend coming here just before peak times (around 5:00 or 5:30 p.m.), as the selection or variations will be ramped up when there's more going on. I've always been there on Saturday evenings and haven't been disappointed yet. There was also flambéed salmon nigiri. I was also able to observe how the people sitting next to me were happy to bring a lot more wasabi and/or ginger to their seats upon request. Most sushi is prepared in advance and then served when required. But it seems that only as much is prepared as is estimated to be needed, so that it doesn't sit or lie down for too long. A sushi robot or machine is also used as an additional aid for this, which I think is fine as it makes the quality more consistent. It should be noted that it wasn't my best sushi so far. Rice is okay, taste is too and the fish is unremarkable and mostly good. Portions are OK. Here and there something fried or kimchi rounds everything off. But that's all fine, because for me the focus here is on the large selection, the ambience and price-performance. For my €27-28 (14 plates + 1 coke + tip) I get my money's worth here. Finally, it should be noted that you shouldn't be shy here, as you'll be sitting right next to strangers at Running Sushi. Oh yes, when you offer a plate, don't forget to ask for ice cream, which is part of the offer. Since I'm Asian, I also like to grab a fried sesame ball, which is also part of the offer. I have never tried the other dishes. I'm just here for the sushi.

It's been a long time since I've been here and I have to say it was a big disappointment. There is a very limited selection and hardly any choice of vegetarian options. The plates have become very expensive. FYI - there is no longer an all you can eat option.

Every second plate was an average role cut into 6. The place is short staffed as well

The service was a bit overloaded and the very, very nice tables are a bit inconvenient, but the crispy duck with vegetables was - as always - really tasty. I like to come back again and again.

I usually eat there often but today what I got was terrible, the meat was old, the noodles were too dry, the staff was really really unfriendly, he said that we didn't get any sauce because it wasn't that bad, it couldn't be. Not suitable for vegetarians. When I order online I always get sushi with fish. Even when you pick it up, if you notice the mistake, they don't correct it properly & get mushy. Yes, sorry, you read that right! We used to like to order it, but now we'll let it go.

Overall ok, very loud. Schiffchen Street ok, could be longer, some savings are made with baked dishes, sushi variations could have more pizzazz, be made more exceptionally, not just zero eight fifteen I imagined it to be much more valuable than the sushi stations in the supermarket, but unfortunately it's similar.

Unfortunately, it has diminished greatly. The sushi on the boats sometimes rotates for hours and is sometimes definitely no longer edible. A serious question, when was the last time these yellow boats were cleaned? Or were they ever cleaned??? They are absolutely filthy and need to be replaced, ideally immediately!!!

We were there today with 7 people. Sushi was very tasty off the line. Lots of choice, everything freshly prepared. Nice service. Clear recommendation 👍 We would love to come back.

It was super crowded on Saturday lunchtime, the waitress was irritated when we asked her that we wanted something to drink. For me it was very fussy and I felt like I had to eat quickly. After 30 minutes we were told to please leave.

I really like the sushi bar. This is the ideal place to recharge your batteries after a strenuous day at work.

We have been going here for decades and pick up often. The sushi is simply excellent. The older man who is always there (boss?) is so terrible. Unfriendly, unpleasant and unpleasant. The other conditions are friendly and usually try hard.

Not particularly suitable for families with children. For example, if you eat with a child on the line and there are 20 plates, a separate bill will be raised for the 3-year-old child. e.g. An adult alone pays almost 30 EUR for 20 plates, if the 3-year-old daughter eats a few spring rolls and you eat 20 plates together, it is divided and the bill is 30-40% larger for the same amount. My dish that I order again and again is the 121; Fried vegetables with Thai curry. Delicious, inexpensive, simply great! The service is usually very friendly. I just like it.

I was there with my wife and 2 children without a reservation. The food was great, everything was fresh and delicious 😋 At some point it became very crowded and loud, which wasn't so nice I ate here again on Saturday January 3rd, 2024. Price-performance is great, fresh sushi is great prices. Always happy😋😉

Food was totally oily. Hardly any taste. The vegetables had a fishy aftertaste. The peanut sauce permanently separated again after 30 seconds.

Leider nicht mehr das was es mal war. Kaum Abwechslung und die Speisen drehen zt Stunden ihre Runden. Alles wirkt sehr unhygienisch und veraltet. Zudem sind die Preise mittlerweile völlig überzogen !

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von fünf Personen dort. Zwei Personen bestellten eine Sushi-Platte für zwei, welche erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen vollständig serviert wurde. Ein weitere Bestellung wurde auch erst nach zweimaligem Fragen serviert. Uns wurde dann ein “großer Rabatt” versprochen, der dann erst das Erlassen der Geränke sein sollte, sich aber nach Nachrechen als das Erlassen von einem einzigen Getränk herausstellte. Insgesamt kein schönes Erlebnis.

Das Essen ist einfach klasse, die Sushi Theke eine Wucht, der Service könnte etwas besser Organisiert sein. Das Ambiente ist schlicht und einfach gehalten.

Wir sind Stammgäste, aber die letzten Monaten wird das Sushi immer schlechter, die Auswahl ist kleiner geworden, fast nur noch Lachs. Dafür geht der Preis regelmäßig hoch. Der Service wird auch immer schlechter, 1 Getränk und dann siehst du keinen Kellner mehr, man muss Zeichen geben, wenn man etwas will. Zum Glück gibt es noch weiter Sushi Läden in GI, MR oder FFM. 01.12.2023 Update, der Chef und seine Jungs sind wieder im Laden, die Qualität und Auswahl ist wieder gut. Dafür gibt es einen Stern mehr.

Beste Sushi-Bar in Gießen meiner Meinung nach. Das Sushi schmeckt sehr gut und man wird definitiv satt. Mir gefällt sehr gut, dass die Boote im Kreis umher fahren. Der Service hat mir ebenso gefallen und ich komme gerne wieder.

Esse hier sehr gerne zu Mittag an langen Arbeitstagen, Portionen sind groß, die Preise sind gut, es geht schnell und schmeckt dann auch noch.

Essen war völlig okay, würde ich sagen. Der Restaurant war leider sehr voll, man hat dann Schwierigkeiten miteinander zu reden. Trotzdem war der Service Tip-Top und super freundlich. Gerne wieder.

Naja.. also geschmacklich ist es eher so ein okay, der Reis ist recht geschmacklos und somit schmeckt der Sushi nicht wirklich gut. Die Preise sind an Teller gebunden, also kein echtes All you can eat. Eigentlich gut, denn so lässt sich bisschen Geld sparen, aber ist kein schönes Gefühl ständig die Teller zählen zu müssen und abwägen, ob 5€ aufpreis noch für den einen oder anderen Teller angemessen sind. Immerhin gibt's gratis Eis und Sesambällchen am Ende dazu. Ambiente ist schön. Insgesamt aber kann ich den Laden nicht empfehlen. Ist halt nur ein "ganz okay" und somit maximal 3 Sterne

Geschmacklich gut aber die Auswahl lässt zu Wünschen übrig. Auch Teller, die man definitiv vom Band nehmen müsste(zu alt und qualitativ nicht mehr verkaufbar) , kreisen hier ewig umher. Bewertung hierfür 3.5 Sterne. Hier war es früher definitiv mal besser.

Das Personal war absolut freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Auswahl am Sushi Band war abwechslungsreich. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Der Service muss besser werden, habe über 10 min gewartet und mir dann selbst eine Karte geholt. Essen war lecker und Preis-Leistung gut.

Gehen hier seit Jahren hin. Sind immer an der Sushibahn. Essen ist immer spitze!

Das Essen war schon mal besser, wir waren Donnerstags um 17 Uhr da, vielleicht lag es am Tag oder Uhrzeit aber es gab an Fisch fast nur Lachs, außer 2, 3 Stückchen eingelegter Makrele und den Dosen Thunfisch als Füllung, leider kein Vergleich mehr zu früher. Der Service ist wie immer etwas, na ja, nicht sehr aufmerksam gewesen. Gibt aber in Gießen leider keine guten alternativen.

Ich und mein Mann waren gut hungrig nach der Arbeit, also ging's los! Ich 14 Schälchen und er 21 Schälchen Sushi 🍣. Satt und glücklich kugelten wir zum Auto. Das Essen ist lecker im Laden.

Trotz Reservierung hatte man erstmal keinen Platz für uns. Nach circa 7 Minuten hat man uns dann doch einfach an das Band gesetzt. Mir hat etwas Auswahl am Sushi gefehlt. Viel Lachs , etwas Thunfisch, ein paar Vegetarische Sachen. Sushi an sich ist ok, nicht mehr - nicht weniger. Die Kellner haben sich ein Mal während des Aufenthaltes nach uns erkundigt. Ich finde die Sitze nicht wirklich bequem und das Ambiente hat mir auch nicht so sehr zugesagt. Man konnte sich nicht so gut unterhalten. Ich würde das nächste Mal woanders hingehen.

Essen ist gut aber Service ist leider vereinzelt sehr unfreundlich. Man wir in einem Ton angesprochen als wenn man nicht gewünscht wäre. Das gibt Abzug in den Sternen. Die Köche wissen was Sie tun. Das macht wieder etwas gut. Update: Heute war dazu noch das Band leer und es gab nur warmes Sushi. Wird leider nicht besser Schade Nach 2 Jahren und mal wieder dagewesen, wurde noch schlimmer, jetzt lässt auch noch die Sauberkeit extrem nach. DIE Schiffchen kleben vor Dreck, am Boden klebt alles und in die Ecken will man nicht schauen. Ich werde sicher nicht mehr kommen.

Wir waren vor wenigen Tagen dort und haben Gerichte von der Karte bestellt. Eine Sushi Platte und ein Nudelgericht. Die Nudeln und das Gemüse hatten ohne die erdnusssoße gar keinen Geschmack und das sushi war auch eher lieblos. Der Service hat sich fast ausschließlich um die Leute gekümmert die am fahrenden Buffet saßen wodurch die sesambällchen die wir bestellt hatten gänzlich untergegangen sind. Ich denke nicht, dass wir nochmal kommen.

Zum Sushi essen da gewesen, war halt ziemlich voll. Man sitzt in der Hauptzeit etwas beengt und muss mit mehr als 2 Personen besser reservieren. Macht man aber generell in welcher Gastro. Die Teller fahren auf Schiffchen vor einem vorbei und man nimmt sich was man möchte. Zahlen tut man die Anzahl der Teller wobei es einige angebots Stafflungen gibt. Die frittierten Teile sind meines Erachtens nach sehr lecker. Alles in andere auch aber das ist ja jedermanns eigener Geschmack.

Super leckeres Sushi! Das essen wird ganz frisch zubereitet, auf Extrawünsche wurde direkt eingegangen. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen, ist ein Besuch wert!
