My favorite sushi bar in Giessen. The sushi is delicious and there are many different varieties. The waiters are very friendly and helpful.

Too overpriced, and they rip off customers by only giving them a menu when you ask. Before that, you'd dig in to the running sushi without knowing you were paying per plate. Very clever.

Prices are OK. Portions could be larger ;-) You have to ask for chopsticks and wasabi, but you get them. Friendly staff.

We ordered bubble tea with no added sugar and ice. Neither was delivered. At least the taste was otherwise fine.

My parents and I have been going there regularly for about 10 years, and we love eating there every time. The food is simply delicious and ALWAYS freshly prepared. You can even watch the woman or man placing the freshly prepared food on the boats. I always find it nice and quiet there; it's never too loud, and the atmosphere is lovely. The staff are all really friendly. Highly recommended for people who haven't tried sushi yet; you absolutely have to go; it's worth it!

Unfortunately, not good... The sushi wasn't very fresh. It was basically just salmon or avocado, with little variety. The waiters were talking loudly. It was kind of unpleasant.

Totally unhygienic preparation. When I was there, I had hair and wire in my food, while a friend was served raw chicken, which clearly violates the hygiene regulations.

We went there for the second time today and were truly disappointed with the quality of the food and service this time. We actually wanted to order fried noodles with breaded chicken. However, this wasn't available on the menu; it only came with extra vegetables. We didn't like the vegetables last time either. So we tried to explain to the server that we wanted the fried noodles, but with breaded chicken. That would have been possible, but it would have cost an extra €2. The price he then quoted was €3 more. The dish with vegetables and breaded meat costs only €1.50 more than the standard fried noodles with chicken. Since the language barrier prevented us from ordering what we wanted, we simply ordered the "regular" fried noodles. When we opened them later, we were again surprised. The vegetables that were supposed to be there were missing; instead, there was a thick layer of fried onions on top. Furthermore, it seemed to us as if the chef had dropped the salt and pepper while seasoning. Instead of a pinch of pepper, we got black-dotted noodles full of pepper. The service in general was unsatisfactory. When we tried to explain what we wanted to eat, we were initially misunderstood. The staff occasionally conversed in their language, which seemed odd to us. Afterward, they were very unfriendly. It was the last time we went there. The service, the taste, and the subsequent stomachache left a lasting impression on us.

With an outside temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, the temperature in the restaurant must have been over 30 degrees Celsius, making it very unpleasant. The service was completely disorganized and first served our drinks incorrectly, then completely forgot our order. My meal (see photo) had an irritating sauce that wasn't particularly tasty. The peanut sauce, on the other hand, was good. Why did I get both? A mistake? We complained at the checkout, but that didn't help either. We also had to remember what we ordered, even though they had filled out the order form. Overall, very poor; we won't be back.

If you're looking for good service and delicious food, this is the wrong place. Sushi sat for ages next to the conveyor belt in the high temperatures; no one pays attention to the cold chain. It was busy and staffed, but our order was still forgotten—we had to wait an hour. The sushi and rice were dried out and warm. We spoke to the person who prepared the sushi, and he said he wouldn't be working there starting tomorrow anyway. The menu was dirty and sticky. When we paid, we expressed our displeasure and were met with complete incomprehension. We definitely won't be back!

I almost exclusively order, but the food is very tasty and large portions for a fair price

Absolute disappointment, the food was a disaster. The tofu smelled and tasted like plastic. The duck was sweet and soft instead of crispy and savory. Everything was unseasoned and simply not tasty. Gypsies playing football didn't improve the experience.

Delicious as always – but a questionable price I've been going to Kim Phat regularly for years and have always been very satisfied. The food is fresh, delicious, and the staff friendly – ​​that's exactly why I'm happy to come back. Today, however, I was a bit confused: I ordered my food on site and picked it up about 30 minutes later. The total price of €42.80 was clearly visible on my bag, including all the items I ordered: 71, 78, 33 (2x), 41B (3x), 41C, and 42. When I paid, however, I was quoted a price of €46 without further explanation. The original amount on the slip was crossed out and replaced with the new one. I paid without questioning it – but now, in retrospect, I'm wondering where the surcharge came from. The food was good as usual, but I would like to see more transparency in the billing process in the future.

I had the beef chop suey yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic! I'm ordering it again today to go. Really delicious.

I love the restaurant. I feel very comfortable. Not too fancy. It's just right for sensible people who value value for money and a friendly atmosphere. I'm there during peak hours. I think some of the hostile comments are from the competition.

Was there on Mother's Day afternoon. It was empty, hardly anyone was there. The staff still ignored us and preferred to talk to friends outside. Tables were very dirty. We had a bad feeling and left. I think this place is going to cause food poisoning soon. They no longer have anything under control.

I can recommend the bowl with tuna, salmon, avocado and edamame. Delicious and affordable. Good portion. Had a couple of California rolls which were good but nothing extraordinary. Payment in cash only. There’s an ATM nearby so don’t worry if you forgot to bring cash with you.

A pleasant experience and very good food

This restaurant is at the top when it comes to hospitality, fresh food and variety. I took someone out to show them Asian cuisine and was extremely pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, despite the wheelchair, the space was uncomplicated and the price was more than reasonable for the quantity/portion size (I'm a very good eater). We look forward to the next visit to try any overlooked dishes.

I went there a few years ago with my family. It was the worst restaurant experience in Europe. The waiters were looking down on us the whole time, totally hostile towards us, it is even ridiculous and ironic given where they are from! On our way out a waiter who was not even waiting on our table blocked the exit and told us we could not leave unless we show him the receipt! Never experienced such treatment.I would not recommend to anyone! I hope karma has caught up with them by now!

Very tasty sushi buffet and optional a la carte. There are up to three sushi bands, and these are small boats on a small waterway. Even spontaneously, we always got a seat, although it can happen that you have to wait a few minutes at peak times. The food itself is great. There is all kinds of sushi: warm, cold, vegetarian, fish, meat, sweet. The prices are not cheap but doable. There are several price levels depending on how many plates you have, although the color of the plate is not important. If you wish, you can also get sushi plates that are not currently on the boats.

The fried noodles were extremely oily and not tasty at all. Also not very seasoned and not authentic Mie noodles, but rather spaghetti. The jasmine tea was okay, as were the vegetarian spring rolls. Price-performance was okay.

I used to come here regularly, now again after a while. We found the selection at the all you can eat buffet a bit poor and there were no longer 'big' drinks like before. The fortune cookies tasted strange too… The staff was friendly.

We have enjoyed going to Kim Phat for years and yesterday we went there again for a long time. We were a bit "cautious" because we had read the reviews recently and sometimes they weren't that good. However, we were not disappointed. The quality was still great, everything was fresh and delicious. The selection was good as usual. There were also oysters, which we particularly like to eat. The fried foods were hot and kept being placed on the boats. We haven't noticed any deterioration compared to last year, except that the price increase is huge. The maximum is 11-14 plates for the plate offers for €24.90. In addition, each plate costs €2. Of course you'll get full, but there's no talk of All You Can Eat anymore. The friendliness of the service could be better, but that was the case years ago. We would always go to Kim Phat as it is the sushi shop with the most selection in Giessen. The selection clearly sets it apart from other stores.

The food was good but there were hundreds of flies in the interior and when you point this out, people don't react at all and just look at you angrily. When paying, I was treated unkindly. Everything somehow without rhyme or reason. The air conditioning is running and the door is open and it's 28 degrees outside. No wonder there are so many flies. That's not particularly exciting for the fish on the treadmill. So, this is my second negative experience in the store. They won't see me anymore!

Very bad I ordered soups and no sweet and sour position soup

The breaded dishes were all cold, the selection was small and the taste was generally not very convincing. The sushi was OK. At the beginning you get a card with reduced prices if you manage a certain number of plates. This was placed on the table without comment and it was only when I was paying that I was told that I should have said beforehand how many plates I wanted to eat. As a result, I had to pay the full price even though I ate two more plates to get a reduced price. When asked, the service wasn't particularly friendly either. Never again. I'd rather get sushi at a conventional Rewe, it's also made fresh and, in my opinion, tastes even better than in this restaurant.

Unfortunately it's getting worse and worse. The service is now a disaster. We took a seat outside and waited for someone to clear away our predecessors' glasses and at least say hello. After a while I called the waiter to let him know that we would like to order something. 5 minutes later the cards arrived. After that nothing happened for another quarter of an hour. It was indicated that they would be taken care of immediately. But again nothing happened. We left 10 minutes later, thirsty and hungry. So we spent about half an hour there without being seriously served. It doesn't work at all! I have 30 years of catering experience and can assess this quite well, especially because there was hardly anything going on inside due to the good weather. The rest of the store and the sushi have also gone way down. We only live a 3 minute walk away, but Kim Phat is dead to me. I don't have to leave any money abroad for something like that.

So I like going here. And the food, especially the sushi and chicken, is always great. But the last time I was there before 4 p.m. Unfortunately, the assembly line was hardly used. And some of the plates had been moving around for a while. If you're in the mood for sushi. Better come around 7 p.m.

UPDATE: 07/13/2024 I was there again today. Unfortunately, there has been a price increase of between €2-3 on the plate offerings in the last few weeks. There is now less sushi for almost the same price. Apparently nothing has changed in terms of quality. ORIGINAL REVIEW: One of my favorite places for running sushi in the area. In principle, you have to be careful with this running sushi, as it is NOT an all-you-can-eat but is charged based on the number of plates - the so-called “plate offer”. It's best to ask for the “sushi menu” at the counter or from one of the waiters. I actually recommend coming here just before peak times (around 5:00 or 5:30 p.m.), as the selection or variations will be ramped up when there's more going on. I've always been there on Saturday evenings and haven't been disappointed yet. There was also flambéed salmon nigiri. I was also able to observe how the people sitting next to me were happy to bring a lot more wasabi and/or ginger to their seats upon request. Most sushi is prepared in advance and then served when required. But it seems that only as much is prepared as is estimated to be needed, so that it doesn't sit or lie down for too long. A sushi robot or machine is also used as an additional aid for this, which I think is fine as it makes the quality more consistent. It should be noted that it wasn't my best sushi so far. Rice is okay, taste is too and the fish is unremarkable and mostly good. Portions are OK. Here and there something fried or kimchi rounds everything off. But that's all fine, because for me the focus here is on the large selection, the ambience and price-performance. For my €27-28 (14 plates + 1 coke + tip) I get my money's worth here. Finally, it should be noted that you shouldn't be shy here, as you'll be sitting right next to strangers at Running Sushi. Oh yes, when you offer a plate, don't forget to ask for ice cream, which is part of the offer. Since I'm Asian, I also like to grab a fried sesame ball, which is also part of the offer. I have never tried the other dishes. I'm just here for the sushi.

It's been a long time since I've been here and I have to say it was a big disappointment. There is a very limited selection and hardly any choice of vegetarian options. The plates have become very expensive. FYI - there is no longer an all you can eat option.

The service was a bit overloaded and the very, very nice tables are a bit inconvenient, but the crispy duck with vegetables was - as always - really tasty. I like to come back again and again.

Not suitable for vegetarians. When I order online I always get sushi with fish. Even when you pick it up, if you notice the mistake, they don't correct it properly & get mushy. Yes, sorry, you read that right! We used to like to order it, but now we'll let it go.

Unfortunately, it has diminished greatly. The sushi on the boats sometimes rotates for hours and is sometimes definitely no longer edible. A serious question, when was the last time these yellow boats were cleaned? Or were they ever cleaned??? They are absolutely filthy and need to be replaced, ideally immediately!!!

It was super crowded on Saturday lunchtime, the waitress was irritated when we asked her that we wanted something to drink. For me it was very fussy and I felt like I had to eat quickly. After 30 minutes we were told to please leave.

I really like the sushi bar. This is the ideal place to recharge your batteries after a strenuous day at work.

We have been going here for decades and pick up often. The sushi is simply excellent. The older man who is always there (boss?) is so terrible. Unfriendly, unpleasant and unpleasant. The other conditions are friendly and usually try hard.

I was there with my wife and 2 children without a reservation. The food was great, everything was fresh and delicious 😋 At some point it became very crowded and loud, which wasn't so nice I ate here again on Saturday January 3rd, 2024. Price-performance is great, fresh sushi is great prices. Always happy😋😉

Leider nicht mehr das was es mal war. Kaum Abwechslung und die Speisen drehen zt Stunden ihre Runden. Alles wirkt sehr unhygienisch und veraltet. Zudem sind die Preise mittlerweile völlig überzogen !

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von fünf Personen dort. Zwei Personen bestellten eine Sushi-Platte für zwei, welche erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen vollständig serviert wurde. Ein weitere Bestellung wurde auch erst nach zweimaligem Fragen serviert. Uns wurde dann ein “großer Rabatt” versprochen, der dann erst das Erlassen der Geränke sein sollte, sich aber nach Nachrechen als das Erlassen von einem einzigen Getränk herausstellte. Insgesamt kein schönes Erlebnis.

Das Essen ist einfach klasse, die Sushi Theke eine Wucht, der Service könnte etwas besser Organisiert sein. Das Ambiente ist schlicht und einfach gehalten.

Wir sind Stammgäste, aber die letzten Monaten wird das Sushi immer schlechter, die Auswahl ist kleiner geworden, fast nur noch Lachs. Dafür geht der Preis regelmäßig hoch. Der Service wird auch immer schlechter, 1 Getränk und dann siehst du keinen Kellner mehr, man muss Zeichen geben, wenn man etwas will. Zum Glück gibt es noch weiter Sushi Läden in GI, MR oder FFM. 01.12.2023 Update, der Chef und seine Jungs sind wieder im Laden, die Qualität und Auswahl ist wieder gut. Dafür gibt es einen Stern mehr.

Beste Sushi-Bar in Gießen meiner Meinung nach. Das Sushi schmeckt sehr gut und man wird definitiv satt. Mir gefällt sehr gut, dass die Boote im Kreis umher fahren. Der Service hat mir ebenso gefallen und ich komme gerne wieder.

Esse hier sehr gerne zu Mittag an langen Arbeitstagen, Portionen sind groß, die Preise sind gut, es geht schnell und schmeckt dann auch noch.

Essen war völlig okay, würde ich sagen. Der Restaurant war leider sehr voll, man hat dann Schwierigkeiten miteinander zu reden. Trotzdem war der Service Tip-Top und super freundlich. Gerne wieder.
