The chilli wasn't spicy or not spicy at all...

Cocktails without alcohol very sweet

Actually our favorite restaurant in Neumarkt. The food is super tasty, whether it's enchiladas, tortillas or even the tapas, so far we've never had any reason to complain. The cocktails and homemade lemonades are great! The only drawback: after the main course we were always so full that there was never enough for dessert - even though it will certainly taste just as good. The staff is nice and on the ball, you never have to wait long. The ambience inside is great, the rooms are designed with care and taste. When there's a lot going on, it's quite loud, but it's bearable. You sit outside on the market square in Neumarkt, which is not unusual but okay. We always enjoy coming back and always look forward to good food!

The service should work on itself, it takes a really long time to be served, even if there are only a few people there.

We weren't happy the last two times here. In my opinion, the food contains a good portion of convenience products, is ok, but doesn't meet the expectations I have of a restaurant, even at these prices. The service also seemed a little overwhelmed on our last visits. The atmosphere is quite nice. You can go there, but I don't think the price/performance ratio is right.

It's a shame, Pepe used to be really good. Since the takeover, the quality of the food has declined significantly. I don't understand why the paella consists entirely of frozen vegetables and frozen seafood, then you don't have to offer "Spanish paella". It's more than questionable why a restaurant uses frozen vegetables anyway. Well, we were there for the last time on Sunday, luckily there are a lot of good alternatives in Neumarkt.

Food components seem to come from system catering and the taste is therefore neither particularly bad nor good. However, I expected more. The nachos were tasty. When the waitress asked me if the tapas were good, I said they weren't that good and the pulled pork was still cold inside. She didn't react to that and continued to clear the table.

There is a nice indoor and outdoor area where you can sit well. The drinks order was taken after a while. On the menu you will find burritos, tapas, salads, etc. We chose tapas mushrooms, calamari, bullet pork balls and shrimp, as well as a meat plate with different steaks. The Coconat Kiss Cocktail without alcohol tasted wonderful and was very tasty. So if you really want to go out and drink cocktails, long drinks, shots or anything else, there's a huge selection of different types, whether you're drinking alcohol or not. And the food was okay too. My husband liked it. Some say too greasy too oily for me, which is why it was a bit soggy. I also found the tapas a little expensive for this quality. But otherwise tasty and ok. What was also very nice was that the waitresses asked every now and then if everything was okay.

Unfortunately the quality of the tapas didn't match the price. I would give 1 star for that. But since the service was very nice, the ambience was okay and the homemade lemonade and iced tea were delicious, it still gets 3 stars. Conclusion: Good for drinking, but unfortunately the tapas are not recommended.

The menu offers an interesting mix of tapas, Mexican dishes, burgers and cocktails. The service team is very friendly and we enjoyed the food. The portions could possibly be a little larger. The main courses are reasonably priced, but the tapas are not exactly cheap. The homemade lemonade was also very tasty.

The service was quick but very brisk and arrogant and pressured us to order, which was completely inappropriate because there was hardly anything going on anyway, and then the food was quite poorly seasoned and, above all, mega overpriced for the mini portions That was the first time I left a restaurant hungry. I'd rather take a longer route and go to the Mexican restaurant in Roth, for example, where you get something for your money I definitely can't recommend Pepe

Been coming to Pepe for a very long time. We now live near Schlüsselfeld and are happy to make the journey. As always, the food was delicious.

The Pepe restaurant is disappointing in terms of cuisine quality. The dishes are mostly made from convenience products, which unfortunately affects the taste and freshness. The selection is limited and offers little variety. Overall, Pepe is not a place to expect culinary highlights.

Pepe Restaurant impressed me with its exquisite Mexican cuisine. The quesadillas are particularly recommended - a real culinary delight! The service and atmosphere contribute to an all-round successful dining experience. Five stars without a doubt!

Nice atmosphere and centrally located with good parking. Service quick and friendly. Unfortunately my food wasn't quite to my taste, I know it better from other Mexican restaurants but that's a matter of taste. A big complaint is that I was given a glass (juice spritzer) which was completely blind and scratched and I don't mean a few scratches but completely scratched. It had probably already had more than enough rinses. Something like that no longer belongs on the table. After complaining, I received a slightly less worn glass. After I pointed it out again, I was kindly informed that the glass was worn but definitely clean. Sorry for the guest, it's still unappetizing. I can't remember ever being served a glass like that in a restaurant. When serving the juice spritzer, the waitress had a mishap - that can happen - but unfortunately the new napkins were not brought. There is still room for improvement in service here. We are all human, no one is perfect, but as guests we didn't feel taken seriously. We won't be coming back.

We had lunch here a few weeks ago, which unfortunately was a mistake. The burger my father ordered was completely cold and looked like it came from the day before. In my opinion, something like that isn't even possible... When we pointed out that the food was cold, they just offered to warm it up a little again. And then charge 20€ for it.... We won't be seen here anymore. A huge disgrace!!!

We were here for the second time and would love to come back. The burgers are excellent. We can also recommend the salads. We found the chili to be a bit thick and it could have been a little more seasoned. Basically, everything is always recommended, especially the lemonade without sugar (sweetened with honey): very tasty!

Süßes Restaurant, was durch die Raumaufteilung bisschen Privatsphäre schafft. Die Lautstärke ist recht angenehm. Die Mädels sind richtig schnell und haben immer ein offenes Wort gehabt. Da übernehme ich gerne das Trinkgeld. Essen flott und toll angerichtet. Geschmacklich top. Die Vorspeisen sind ein Muss. Da hat man irgendwie vergessen, dass ein Hauptgericht noch kommt und schafft das natürlich nicht ganz. Dog bag nachhaltig im Papierkarton. Ja, rundum gelungenes Konzept. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Volle Punktzahl redlich verdient.

Eine Reservierung am Telefon mit einem Mitarbeiter der aus NRW kam. Er war sehr freundlich und hat alles umgesetzt was wir haben wollten. Der Tisch wurde für uns vorher Weihnachtlich gedeckt. Meine Familie und mir hat das Essen sehr gut geschmeckt.

Wir waren heute Nachmittag/Abend zu. Essen hier. Wir warteten vorne an der Tür und als der Kellner meinen Sohn sah machte er direkt die Tür auf obwohl noch nicht ganz 16 Uhr war. Er begrüßte uns sehr herzlich und war den ganzen Aufenthalt sehr aufmerksam und sehr sehr freundlich. Dass Essen war super bin immer noch sehr gesättigt. Sehr zu empfehlen der selbstgemachte Eistee. Das Ambiete ist wahnsinnig gemütlich und einfach zum wohlfühlen.. wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne mal wieder :)

Das Essen war sehr gut,wie immer. Ich besuche diese Lokalität des öfteren und bin bei jedem Besuch sehr zufrieden.

Habe eigentlich immer sehr gerne dort gegessen. Wurden allerdings beim letzten Mal so enttäuscht das wir wütend und immer noch hungrig mit 50€ weniger aus dem Laden gegangen sind.

Wir waren mit Freunden in einer größeren Gruppe nach einer Stadtführung zum Essen dort. Von außen ein umgebautes Ladengeschäft mit großen Schaufensterscheiben. Innen: nettes, aber nicht umwerfendes Ambiente. Junges, meist freundliches Servicepersonal. Reichhaltige Speisekarte aber für die Oberpfalz happige Preisgestaltung, auch bei den Getränken. Die Speisen kamen zügig und handwerklich gut umgesetzt, geschmacklich aber recht fad und einfallslos, insbesondere wenn man spanische / mexikanische Küche erwartet. Ich war, was den Geschmack betrifft - auch vor dem preislichen Hintergrund wirklich enttäuscht. Man gönnt sich ja so etwas nicht täglich.

Pepe Café macht hervorragendes essen und hat sehr freundliches Personal. Als wir da waren war es auch sehr voll und wir haben trotzdem noch einen Tisch bekommen.

Reichhaltige Speisekarte mit vielen veggie und veganen Gerichten. Das vegane Burrito war frisch und lecker, hätte aber für meinen Geschmack etwas mehr Würze vertragen können. Und mich interessiert immer noch welches Rotbier ausgeschenkt wird...

Tapas am Montag sind immer gut. Ansonsten ist es leider ziemlich teuer geworden und die Qualität eher schlechter, wenn dann geh ich nur noch am Tapas Montag hin, da lohnt es sich.

Wieder mal wunderbar. Tolles Essen, nette Bedienung, keine überlangen, sondern normale Wartezeiten sowohl bei Bestellung, Essen und Kassiervorgang. Preise meines Erachtens in Ordnung für das Essen und Getränke. Wir sind mit den Portionsgrößen sehr gut satt geworden. Verstehe andere Rezensionen gut, denn jeder hat nun mal andere Erwartungen von Preis/Leistung. Das ist einfach mal so. Es gibt sicherlich alternativen. Mit All-you-can-eat ist man bei Pepe nicht an der richtigen Adresse.

sehr schöner Tapas - Abend mit Freunden

Food was okay, not bad but not great. I had a steak with salad, sweet potato, and a side of corn. The corn was the best part. The salad had too much dressing. The steak was meh. I don't like sweet potatoes but it needed cooked a little longer. The margarita and lemonade were alright. Decent size.

1. The service was horrible. We sat there so long I finally asked for a menu. The waiter gestured impatiently to the area where the menus were as if he expected us to get them ourselves. I must’ve looked surprised because he then gave up and said, “Yeah okay. I’ll get them for you.” Then we waited a much longer time and a confused waitress came up and was like, “Ummmmm… have you ordered yet?” 2. The food. Not even remotely authentic Mexican food. I’m American. Been to Mexico a number of times and have many Mexican friends. The chicken enchilada tasted distinctly like a German and an Italian got together to try and create something that could possibly resemble Mexican food. It didn’t. It was awful. The Carne Asada Quesadilla was actually VERY yummy but not really Mexican either. It had a distinct flavor of balsamic vinegar. Yet another funny indication that there’s an Italian behind the scenes trying to Mexicanize Italian food. 3. The price - HORRENDOUS! More than 6€ for a bottle of water! It’s not a cocktail! It’s WATER! Almost 19€ per plate for mediocre food. For two people, the cost was a jaw-dropping 47€. No appetizers, no desserts, no coffee. Just two entrees and 2 drinks total (one per person). While the quesadilla was quite good, I would never go back. This is way overpriced and I can make far better Mexican food at home.

Habe einen Double-Chrispy-Chicken gegessen für 18€. Hört sich ja alles gut an mit na Portion Pommes dazu aber wenn die Burgerpattys dann die gleichen sind wie bei Burgerking kommt man sich schon ein bisschen verarscht vor.

Die Speisen sind zwar lecker, allerdings nicht wirklich original mexikanisch, sonder an den deutschen Geschmack angepasst. Sonst ist das Lokal schön eingerichtet und die Bedienung ist nett.

Leuk en lekker Mexicaans restaurant met veel keuze op de kaart. Lekkere cocktails ook. Bediening was zeer vriendelijk. Zeker aan te aanraden! Reserveren op een drukke dag is wel aan te bevelen.

Theresa hat einen sehr Professionellen Eindruck gemacht, als Gast fühlt man sich sehr Wertgeschätzt und das Etablissement hat eine hervorragende Küche. Sehr alter Biergarten, der jetzt Vorsichtig renoviert wird. Bitte nicht zu stark modernisieren. Flammkuchen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Nachtrag: Ambiente, Essen und Service ist noch besser geworden. Deshalb volle Punktzahl.

Als tussenstop voor onze vakantie naar Slovenië belandden we in Neumarkt. En toevallig bij dit restaurant. Wat een geluk. Nog 1 tafel vrij voor ons. Lekker bier en lekkere wijn. En heerlijk eten! Aanrader!

Keine Ahnung was mit den Koch ist aber das beste was hier geschmeckt hat war das Wasser weil es nicht selbstgemacht war. Bedienung Trz gut deswegen 1 Stern mehr

Essen ist jedesmal geschmacklich wunderbar, Portionen ok. Wurde auch immer zügig bedient. Jedesmal gerne wieder.

Das Essen war sehr gut und schmeckte auch sehr frisch, es gibt viele tolle Gerichte, leider gab es heute bei der großen Hitze mit über 30 Grad kein Wasser mehr das gekühlt war, weil sie angeblich vergessen haben, das Wasser zu kühlen. Dafür geb ich keinen Punktabzug. Aber hey Leute, das darf bei der Hitze nicht passieren. Was mir auch nicht gut gefällt, daraußen sitzt man nicht schön, der Tisch ist für diese Bänke viel zu hoch und ohne Lehne ist einfach unbequem.

War früher deutlich besser. Sowohl Service als auch Küche haben in letzter Zeit leider spürbar nachgelassen.

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit dort gefeiert und waren mehr als zufrieden! Service top, Essen top und bei der Planung wurden wir hervorragend beraten. All unsere Wünsche konnten umgesetzt werden. Auch außerhalb der Feierlichkeiten gehen wir sehr gern dort essen oder ein paar Cocktails trinken. Wir sind sehr froh , dass das Lokal die schwere Corona-Zeit überstanden hat und freuen uns auch auf weitere tolle und schmackhafte Abende!

Ich war schon sehr oft beim pepe aber scheinbar haben die einen neuen Koch.??. . Jedenfalls die Tapas zur Vorspeise waren fast alle gut, die Enchiladas waren leider leider überhaupt nichts. Die haben da früher sehr gut geschmeckt. Salatbeilage wurde auch geändert - leider nicht zum besseren. Service war nett und freundlich und schnell. Schade!

Wir sind öfter mal in Neumarkt beim „Pepe Mexikaner“ zum Essen. Leider ist es in letzter Zeit immer mehr nur noch ein „durchschnittlicher“ Essensgenuss. Die Salate waren früher besser, es kann schon mal sein, dass das Essen nur lauwarm und das Steak hart ist. Die Pepe-Restaurants sind halt einer Kette zugeordnet und das merkt man. Nichts Individuelles, auf Masse und Durchlauf ausgerichtet. Zwar viele mexikanische Gerichte, aber auch Burger im Angebot. Publikum daher eher jung. Alles in allem ok, aber nichts Besonderes!

After living in Texas for a spell, my standards for Mexican/TexMex food are pretty high. Pepe's was typical of the European Mexican food I have had in the past - no where near spicy enough, small portions, and tortilla chips from a bag. Not terrible, just not very Mexican!

Nachdem ich in Nürnberg mehrmals versucht habe frisches gut gewürztes mexikanisches Essen zu finden und leider nur auf teuere Hipsterlokale gestoßen bin, war ich sehr froh Pepe in Neumarkt zu entdecken. Wir hatten Buritto,Tacos und als Dessert Apfel und Schokokuchen. Alles hat lecker frisch und sehr gut gewürzt geschmeckt,das Essen kam in 15Min und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich aber nicht aufdringlich. Ich habe nur 2Mal in den USA mexikanisch gegessen aber es hat genauso geschmeckt. Vor allem war das Essen richtig schön eingerichtet, was man wirklich schätzt nachdem man mehrmals in Nürnberg in Touristenfallen im Zentrum verarscht wird:)) Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr authentisch eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail und man kann da essen aber auch nur Cocktails trinken. Es ist meistens gut besucht deswegen lieber reservieren. Wenn man spontan kommt geben sich die Leute echt Mühe die Kunden unterzubringen

Super Restaurant. Die Speisen sind großzügig bemessen und für die gute gebotene Qualität nicht überteuert. Generelle Empfehlung: Reservierung!

Wir waren hier kürzlich mit einer Gruppe von Freunden beim Essen. Dabei haben wir eig. alles quer durch die Karte gegessen (fajitas, enchiladas, burger, burrito). Wie man in den meisten anderen Bewertungen erkennen kann war der Burger ganz ok (leider waren hier aber die Pommes nicht gut). Am enttäuschendsten waren leider die enchiladas welche eher nach mit Gemüse gefüllten cannelloni geschmeckt haben (auch viel zu viel Tomaten Soße oben drauf). Die Hühnchen enchiladas (pollo) machten leider auch den Eindruck als würde das Hühnchen nicht frisch sein. Nachdem ich schon sehr oft bei Mexikanern sowohl in Deutschland aber auch in Mexico und vor allem den USA war würde ich mir bessere Qualität wünschen das es viele Menschen auch bei uns gibt welche diese Art von essen gerne mögen. Wir waren schon öfter im Pepe und leider war es diesmal nicht empfehlenswert und wir werden wohl auch so schnell nicht mehr kommen. Vielleicht eine Ausnahme aber ich hoffe es wird wieder besser. Wir werden es in einem Jahr mal wieder probieren.

Das Essen war sehr würzig und lecker. Die Bürger sind zu empfehlen, vor allem wenn man den üblichen Burger durch eine Tortilla ersetzt.

Anlass: Geburtstagsessen mit 5 Leuten(bestehend aus Studenten/Schülern) am Abend Atmosphäre: Das Ambiente ist ziemlich top und ladet zum Essen ein. Generell war die Musik und der Lautstärke Pegel laut deshalb mussten wir am Tisch etwas lauter reden, aber ist kein negativer Faktor für den Sternabzug. Speisen und Getränke: Bestellt wurden Burger mit Kartoffeln/Pommes als Beilage, die sehr lecker waren und satt gemacht haben. Cocktails und Getränke haben der Gruppe geschmeckt und es gab von unserer Gruppe keine Beschwerden zwecks Qualität und Geschmack. Kritikpunkt und deshalb der halber Sternabzug ist das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Eine 0,33 Colaflasche ca. 3€ und ein großer Cocktail für 11€ also allgemein sind die Getränke/Speisen hoch angesetzt. Die Speisepreise sind sehr vielfältig und schnell vergleichbar, also keine versteckten Preise! Gesamtbewertung: Das Pepe in Neumarkt hat sich im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt. Die Speisekarte ist verschlankt worden, was ich als positiv ansehe(mein Besuch war schon paar Jahre her). Speisen(Burger) und Cocktails waren wirklich empfehlenswert und ein besonderes Lob an den Service, der regelmäßig kam und geachtet hat ob wir noch etwas brauchen. Reservierung zur Primetime also ca. 20 Uhr ist dringend notwendig. Wenn man Glück hat, gibt es noch freie Plätze. Für den Besuch im Pepe haben wir pro Person im Schnitt 16€ gezahlt ( Burger und ein Getränk).

I ordered the quesedillas and pollo picante tapas. The quesedillas were cold with cheap, sliced cheese inside that wasn't melted. The chicken also had grissle on it. The servers mixed up vegetarian and meat based dishes and were really unhelpful and unfriendly. I would have sent the food back, but unfortunately we didn't have time before the table was needed for the next guests. We won't be eating there again as the prices are way too expensive for the bad quality.

We were party of 4. Excellent selection. waiter took care of one guest who had some dietary requirements. Burgers were well made. Big portions. Tasty. Excellent sweet-potato chips Long-drinks also decent selection and service was well above average. I would go there again without hesitation. Prices very reasonable.

When I heard there was a "Mexican" restaurant in Neumarkt, I was very excited to try it out. I was very disappointed. I don't have very high expectations for Mexican restaurants in Germany, but I have been to some pretty good ones and this was not one of them. The food wasn't bad, but it just wasn't very good either. It was a pretty good atmosphere for drinks and light meals with friends, but just don't go expecting great Mexican food. The service was good, the portions were pretty large and the prices weren't bad at all. The good just wasn't great. My simple review is that I just won't go back unless I'm with a group that insists, but not if I have a say so.

We (2 couples) went to Pepe for dinner and arrived at 8:30 pm (Saturday). The place was packed and we were seated at the last table that was available. It took about 20 minutes until drinks were served. Another 30 minutes later our starters (tapas) were served, followed by the main course (at about 10pm). Couldn't help but noticed that some orders at the adjacent table got mixed up and got returned to the kitchen. Same happened to us as enchiladas were served but fajitas had been ordered. This led to one guest having to wait another 5-10 minutes for his meal while we were already eating. I would like to point out that despite the hickups we left happy, full and satisfied. Portions are big and food is good. Would go there again and skip starters next time (not because they weren't good but because I was full about one third into the main course).

Seems to be the younger locals' favorite. The restaurant was packed at 19 o clock, and with the restaurant clearly focused on the bar/cafe part they probably will stay long. The food was ok, but was missing the true Mexican touch. Good place to flee to when you have had enough of the traditional German cuisine.

The restaurant has a good location in the city center, tasty food oriented to tex-mex kitchen. I really recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Neumarkt for the money. they have also all kinds of drinks and beer.

Very nice place, great service but not authentic Mexican food. We were very excited when we saw the menus l and saw tortilla soup and fideo. It was not even close. The tortilla soup was basically chicken noodle with flour tortilla strips and the fideo was not even soup it was fajitas with noddles. My wife and I both order enchiladas and it was basically a wet burrito with sweet tomato sauce and melted cheese. I really wanted to believe in this place. I think we will come back but completely rethink our order.

Surprisingly it was open after 9pm on a rainy evening, when all other nearby places were closed down. I've been there already twice. The food is pretty decent, not like you could get in Mexico or States, but ok for Germany. I would say prices are moderate to higher range, especially their drinks and shots are expensive. If you are fed up with Bratwurst and schnitzel, then it could be a goods choice.

Restaurant sits on a square were the breaze softly hits you.... dozing off was not that hard aitring here Food was ok not super or bad waither spoke english which made it easy ordering

On Tuesday night I was invited to dinner at Pepe's Restaurant in Neumarkt in the Oberpfalz. The restaurant is situated in the middle of the old town, with ample parking all around it...a little walk is in fact advisable, not only to see the old town, but also to walk off the meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, the furnishings modern and comfortable. I was starving and on the way to our table I saw a waitress carrying a great looking burger to a table. The menu at Pepe is diverse and interesting. They have a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages on offer. I ordered a cheeseburger with steakhouse fries, my friend ordered a bacon burger with country potatos...the food was delicious and A LOT!!!! I had a Pepe Green cocktail and it was great. The service is outstanding!! A reservation is advisable. Definitely a "keep on my list" restaurant!

Great staff, best Mexican food in Germany, no really. Pleasant atmosphere, large and yummy drink selection as well.

We stopped here to eat some Mexican food and to try to get a little taste of home. My wife ordered the fajitas which they were just ok, I'm sure they came out of a frozen bag sonewhere. I ordered the nachos as appetizer and a "Mexican platter". The platter contained some ribs, chicken wings, some corn, rice and some chips. My ribs where still frozen, the outside was hot but the middle was frozen lol. The wings nasty, rice was ok. The nachos are just chips with a small, minuscule container of salsa and one with sour cream. You can't even dip a chip inside. The most expensive horrible food I have paid so far in Germany. Will never stop here again. Maybe I'm too picky with my food, but if I pay for it at least I want to enjoy it.

We holed up here by chance as there was very little else to choose from in Neumarkt on a Sunday at 9pm suitable for a range of tastes and ages (14 - 59). The restaurant is on the main street in an ancient market town...
