We celebrated with 20 people at Pazza on Rüttenscheider Straße 182 in Essen and were thrilled. The service was excellent and very attentive. The appetizers were sophisticated, the main course delicious, and the dessert simply superb. A thoroughly enjoyable evening – we'll definitely be back!

Today we ate at Pazza Italian Kitchen and were absolutely delighted. The food was exceptionally delicious and completely won us over. It was something new, something special – an experience rarely found in Rüttenscheid. Even upon entering the restaurant, the pleasant, friendly service was immediately noticeable. The staff was attentive, warm, and professional without being intrusive. You feel welcome and well taken care of. The chef deserves special mention: very young, but with remarkable finesse and an excellent sense of flavor. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with passion and skill. Among other dishes, we ordered Linguine al Fif, Risotto al Tartufo, and a beetroot risotto. Every single dish was outstanding. My wife's risotto was cooked to perfection, creamy, and very well-balanced in flavor. The pear – finely diced and delicately caramelized – was a real highlight and gave the dish a wonderful, elegant touch. Everything was perfect: the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, the presentation, and the service. We were completely satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We're certain of one thing: we'll definitely be back. Pazza Italian Kitchen is a real asset to Rüttenscheid and highly recommended.

Initially, the service seemed very friendly. The food, however, was a complete disaster. The melanzane with burrata was a liquid oven-baked dish consisting of eggplant, raw tomatoes, smothered in cream, and topped with burrata. The risotto, if you could even call it that, was just hard rice with a bit of sauce mixed in. In terms of taste and quality, it had nothing to do with Italian cuisine. When we asked for the bill and our server saw that we hadn't finished a single dish, our plates weren't cleared, nor were we asked if we hadn't enjoyed our meal. When she brought the bill, we told her that we had expected something different. She responded with a smug shrug and went into the kitchen to make fun of us with the chef. We weren't even given our change; we had to actively ask for it on our way out. When we asked for the bill, it was a complete disaster. We were shocked by both the inedible food and the restaurant's outrageous manner, and we absolutely cannot recommend it!

The service was extremely unfriendly. The food was not only a culinary disaster, but also visually very unappetizing. What was served there had absolutely nothing to do with Italian cuisine. Don't be fooled by the appealing ambiance; look for something else! 0/5 stars.

Pazza used to have a good reputation. Absolutely nothing of that remains! The service—that word is so utterly misplaced—is beyond any semblance of a proper restaurant. Completely overwhelmed, coupled with a culinary incompetence that is unparalleled. The food itself is just as bad. A truly awful evening.

My teenager ordered steak. Unfortunately, they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, which I think is essential. It arrived medium-rare, which I personally wouldn't have liked, but my teenager loved it. The linguine al pfiff could have used a bit more seasoning – I'm quite sensitive to salt, but even for me, it could have used a little more. I think we'll come back and see if they take the feedback to heart. 😉 The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are very friendly and attentive.

We ordered from Pazza via Lieferando today, Sunday, even though the restaurant is normally closed on Sundays. The order arrived after a wait of over 1.5 hours – and even then, it was incomplete. Of the five dishes we ordered, only four were delivered. The Wiener Schnitzel was missing entirely and arrived 30 minutes later. The food was of very poor quality, and the portions were extremely small for the price. Overall, we are very disappointed and dissatisfied – a long wait, missing food, poor quality, and no communication whatsoever. This is not how a delivery service should operate. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Pazza in its current state.

The first impression was absolutely positive: good location, lovely ambiance, and tastefully decorated. The first disappointment came when tiny flies started buzzing around us from the moment we had our first drink... certainly not mosquitoes in October. Very annoying and impossible to get rid of, even during the entire meal. It makes you wonder where they're coming from. The appetizers (beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese for €14.50 and beef carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan for €18.90) looked fantastic (see photos), but the disappointment quickly followed. The goat cheese was drowned in honey, making everything taste overly sweet (I didn't want a dessert), and the beef carpaccio was completely inedible and had to be sent back... it was still partially frozen, making it anything but tender, just tough and unpalatable. Simply unacceptable! As "compensation," we were offered a complimentary grappa... speechless! I didn't take any more pictures of the main course, but again, the presentation was better than the taste. The Scaloppine al Limone were okay, but the cutlets were very small and there was far too little sauce. The Linguine al Pfiff was also alright, but nothing special, which is what you'd expect for the price. They seem to prioritize presentation over the quality of the food. And for that, it's simply too expensive (both main courses were almost 30 euros). We won't be returning to this restaurant. So we'll continue our search for a more upscale, even if it means paying more, Italian food that offers more than just pizza and pasta... What a shame.

Big disappointment in this bakery despite the staff doing everything to try to help us, unfortunately the electricity was out when we came and it was therefore difficult to find the dishes and products we wanted, plus a particularly complex color-coded and price system that really caused problems with our choices. I beg you to simplify things.

It was a wonderful evening with a meal from the restaurant carousel. The food was very good and the service perfect. We felt extremely comfortable. Highly recommended. We would be happy to come back.

There were four of us at the menu carousel. The food was good overall, but only adequate in terms of quantity. A shame. 3 wines, 1 beer. The beer was forgotten several times, and the wine for the main course only came upon request. Overall, it was too expensive for what was served; we've had much better food at the menu carousel. I think it's good for a snack, but not for a full dinner.

I have to say, I don't understand the good reviews. It's very loud, the service takes a long time, the table is wobbly, the food took forever to arrive, and the advertised dish didn't arrive. Still, it was tasty, but a bit lacking in seasoning.

Pleasant ambience, very creative cuisine

It's a shame – our drinks weren't brought for 40 minutes, our appetizer was forgotten, and we waited forever for service. The tables next to us weren't cleared for over an hour, so homeless people ended up picking up their food. The descriptions of the dishes weren't very accurate, and the salmon was dry. Overall, it could have been good, but the lack of service ruined the rest, which was okay. Unfortunately, we also had to wait forever to pay, which is also a no-go. The value for money isn't right.

The two of us came here for the first time because the restaurant's exterior piqued our interest. The interior design is actually very nice and inviting, but they play Spotify ads. I find that completely inappropriate. It's only acceptable in a chip shop... but in a restaurant with prices like these (pasta costs between €17.50 and €27.90; prices on Google aren't up-to-date), it's completely unacceptable. The service was nice, but unfortunately inattentive. After we'd finished our meals and our drinks were gone, we weren't asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. We would have been happy to do that ;) The food tasted okay, but nothing special. I don't think we'll be back. What a shame :(

WOW! I've been wanting to come here for a while and I'm glad I did. We had the whole sea bass with pasta in a Parmesan nest and this fish was a completely pleasant surprise for the first time in a long time. Truly excellently seasoned. The pasta with mushrooms and Parma ham was also good, though a bit salty. It's not cheap here, but the dishes justify it. We'll definitely be back ☺️

Although it's been a while since I visited this restaurant, I still want to share my personal experience. Unfortunately the visit didn't convince me. I had made a long journey because the menu – especially the fried carbonara – had made me very curious. The restaurant itself looks quite attractive, but the tables are extremely close together, so there is no privacy at all. For me personally, this is a crucial negative point when it comes to a relaxed visit to a restaurant. The service was friendly and the price of the dish was okay, even if the portion wasn't too big. Unfortunately, the taste of the fried carbonara didn't convince me. Although the casing was nice and crispy, it was far too thick and had a rather neutral taste. The contents of the fried ball were very dry and almost tasteless. There was also a very large amount of extremely thick sauce on the plate, which was far too heavy for my taste. It tasted like it was made almost entirely of cream, bacon and a huge amount of parmesan. A raw egg was served with it, without any explanation as to how to use it. I mixed it in based on my feeling, but I didn't really understand the point since raw eggs are already part of a carbonara. I eat carbonara extremely often and have tried many original recipes in Italy. Of course, the dish is always filling and nutritious, but a good carbonara still has a certain lightness to it. The sauce should wrap smoothly around the pasta and not seem so massive. In this case, however, it was far too heavy and too dominant for me. In terms of taste, the dish reminded me more of the German version with a lot of cream, which doesn't correspond to my personal understanding of a carbonara. Overall, it was too greasy for me, with too much bacon and too much sauce, but still not enough flavor. Of course, taste sensations are subjective and other guests may perceive this completely differently - but for me personally it was a disappointment.

I've been there a few times with my partner. Top service and food can be enjoyed in a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant can only be recommended and we are happy to have discovered it.

Been there for the first and last time. Waited over an hour for our antipasta. Lasagna served on a plate, not in a baking dish as it should be. Lukewarm, carelessly prepared. Sea bream frozen food, not fresh produce.

A visit we were looking forward to unfortunately turned into a disappointment. Drinks were forgotten, as was the starter plate and it was also very disappointing because there wasn't much of an antipasti to be seen on it. Since we had already waited 70 minutes for it, the lasagne for my husband arrived carelessly arranged on a plate - you would expect a casserole to be served in a terrine.... I was looking forward to sea bream and that was unfortunately disappointing too. The sea bream was not fresh fish, but frozen food. The price of almost €28 is not justified for me. Unfortunately we will not recommend this restaurant and hope that the criticism can make a difference...

We were very impressed on our first visit and came back a year later. Unfortunately, a lot has changed. The small and fine menu has disappeared and has been replaced by a larger menu with some different dishes. The food was good, no question, but not what we expected. The price is now a bit too high for what is on offer, and the tables are very close together. You can hear what is being said at the next table – and vice versa. Atmosphere otherwise very nice.

I actually wanted to eat the carbonara in the breaded ball here, but I came from Gladbeck especially for that. Unfortunately, unfortunately, that was already over 😮‍💨 I thought that was a shame... Well - then I ordered Tagliatelle al Salmone. Really fantastic! You can tell the good quality of the salmon, which was on point. A light sauce that was perfectly paired with it - and the pasta was on point! The service is also great! I still hope I get this carbonara scoop next time I come. 🙂🙃🫠

Food wasnt really good. "Wildkräuter with Burrata" was just ordinary shredded salad. Disappointing.

The food tasted okay, service was subpar: wordless waitress, no question as to whether everything was OK. A salad was ordered and our “complaint” about the size of the dish was answered very rudely: “It’s an appetizer”. When there was no tip, the EC machine was slammed on the table. It might be good if you also behaved decently towards young guests. Also a hit for the tax office: billing as an interim document... We won't be coming back.

Yesterday we were excited to visit this restaurant that had piqued our curiosity based on its reviews. But unfortunately our expectations were not met - on the contrary, we were disappointed at the end of the evening. We would like to emphasize that we are aware that mistakes can happen - no one is perfect. Maybe my husband and I were just unlucky that evening? However, there are a few points that struck us negatively: • Wrong orders: We were served both the wrong drink and the wrong food. • Presentation: The food was presented carelessly, almost as if we were in a university canteen. • Taste: Unfortunately, the taste of the food wasn't convincing either. We tried to make the most of the evening, but there are aspects that are essential to a restaurant visit - after all, you pay with hard-earned money. Here the price-performance ratio was not right at all. It's a shame, because we were really looking forward to a nice evening.

We have gone to Pazza several times and have always loved it. When we saw that there was a new map with many changes, we were initially skeptical. Last week we ventured another visit and are relieved to say we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The ravioli with sage butter sauce were removed from the permanent menu, but were offered on the daily menu (please continue to offer them!) and tasted delicious as always. The fettuccine with salmon and lobster sauce (a new dish) also impressed us. The service was also friendly and accommodating, so Pazza remains one of our favorite restaurants.

Good Italian in the middle of Rüttenscheid. The menu changes regularly but there is always a selection of pasta and other Italian dishes. It's worth making a reservation as the restaurant is not that big.

Maybe the empty restaurant on a Thursday evening should have given us something to think about... Ordered 0.1 wine, got 0.2, you can still ignore it. The starter: fried prawns on warm lentils, parmesan, chilli and lemon butter - the prawns were oversalted, no trace of parmesan or chilli, and a salad that was already past its prime. We received no response from the service staff when we were informed about the over-salted prawns. Main courses: Spaghetti in crema di lime - it couldn't be more sour. Even after three forks it didn't get any better... My friend chose the homemade ravioli filled with potatoes, pecorino and some mint with sage butter - there were actually five lumps of dough! that were swimming in butter and cheap parmesan; No trace of sage or mint, carelessly decorated with a sprig of parsley! We recommend the cook to take a herbal course!!! The many five star reviews must have been cooked by another chef. What a shame!

The waiter spoke very poor German and the sea bream from the grill that we ordered was never available there!? We ate these here recently. The employee is hearing this for the first time. I was with a large group of international colleagues in the wonderful Pazza on the Rü. We were thoroughly pampered by the owner and her super-friendly team. After ordering in advance, we decided on a menu consisting of various starters and main courses, each of which was distributed on large plates to share. The four starters and five main courses were all great in taste. The way we enjoyed the ever-new, ever-tasty specialties together thrilled everyone present. Do you know how a meal together develops a special magic and makes everyone present really happy? That was definitely the case here. Not only the great food, but also the family cuisine and the hospitable team contributed to this! The menu was of course rounded off with espresso and dolce. Finally, a big compliment: one of the participants flew in from Italy and praised the food highly. 😋 Thanks for a great evening!

Sad service I entered the store to get something to eat after greeting from my side and no response. I tried to sit down from the waiters. I was then asked if I was alone I was then told that this was a restaurant and you couldn't just sit down Not a single guest was sitting in the shop And none of the seated waiters made you feel wanted I then left the store straight away

Delicious food. Haven't experienced anything like this from an Italian before. Ambience only 3 stars because it is located on Essen's most popular street with a lot of poser traffic (we sat outside).

The store itself is nicely done, the staff is attentive. Unfortunately, when you look at the map, there is no highlight! Neither the starters nor the main course were convincing. The fish was unfortunately bathed in oil, the milanesse was very dry and the taste was rather below average. Unfortunately, the dessert (panna cotta) couldn't pull it off, on the contrary, it's a shame! The prices are really high! Price/performance is clearly too expensive for what you get! Payment with credit card is then not possible, we didn't see any mention of this!

The three of us ate at Pazza last Tuesday. The welcome was warm, the table at the entrance was a bit tight. We ordered an aperitif with limoncello, which was drinkable and delicious! Unfortunately, this good impression didn't last...we ordered an antipasti platter for 2 people for €18. What we got was a middle plate with leaf spinach, 3 asparagus spears, 3 slices of eggplant that were still frozen, the zucchini were cold but no longer frozen and 4 pieces of artichoke... that was it🤷🏻‍♀️, there were also 3 slices of bread! The menu promised something completely different, Italian specialties with fish or meat...we didn't find them! For the main course, my husband ordered Piccata Milanese and I ordered salmon fillet on wild herb salad with walnuts and cranberries! I got, again, leaf spinach, with three tiny pieces of salmon (not 80g), sprinkled with a few unroasted walnuts and dry cranberries, you had to look for the dressing🙄 When I asked where the wild herbs were, the boss (I assume) called out from the kitchen: “It’s my fault, sorry!” What that meant was not explained in more detail🤷🏻‍♀️… and for 17€…cheap😏 I was offered a grappa, I explained that I didn't like it, and then the matter was settled for the owners... My husband, who likes to add salt to everything, left some of his meat because it was totally over salted! There was also no side dish, only a few noodles kept the deep fryer meat company!! The price/performance ratio is definitely not right here or we had a stupid day?🧐 But since it's closed on Mondays, everything should actually be fresh and available on Tuesdays... In addition, the noise level was so high that conversation was hardly possible! We were disappointed!! I actually have to comment on her reaction again! I think calling myself a coward is more than unjustified, I complained and their reaction was shouting from the kitchen, they didn't even come to the table! The very nice waitress offered me grappa or coffee, neither of which I drink... but I would have been happy about a dessert, but it wasn't offered!!! We didn't want to embarrass the young lady with whom they exchanged a few words while we were putting on our jackets with further discussions because she had recommended the restaurant! That settles the matter for me, even if her reaction is strange to me🤷🏻‍♀️
