PAPA Umi in Neuwied seems to have seen better days. The food is still good, the service fast, but somehow everything seems lackluster. It's not working anymore. You used to have to wait in line, but now we could choose our seats on Saturday nights. It was pretty empty; we noticed this last summer. The laminated notices about the mask requirement were still hanging in the restroom, but the prices have gone up considerably. Two people, €100 for a fast-food experience. I'll reconsider...

We ordered sushi to go. Unfortunately, the sushi was very poorly and sloppily packaged. It was also annoying that when we got home, we realized that the salmon in the maki was missing and only avocado was in it. We went there because of the many good reviews. But we definitely won't buy food there again. It was disappointing.

Great food at very fair prices! Today I especially recommend the salad with fresh air-raised mango and scallops! Delicious!

Unfortunately, it wasn't so nice outside. The food was fantastic! Minus points for the generic soy sauce. You can find it at every snack bar and it doesn't taste good at all.

We ate here for the first time (4 people). While tastes are certainly debatable, they always differ, the quality of the ingredients is not. We all enjoyed everything. The salads and vegetables were very fresh. I've never seen or eaten such a perfectly pink roasted duck breast at an Asian restaurant, and the fish also looked great. The kitchen is open, so you can watch everything. Drinks, appetizers, and main courses arrived quickly. The service was friendly. The ambiance isn't amazing, but it's perfectly fine. We will definitely eat here again.

The food is very good. But unfortunately, none of the staff members seem to be in charge of the outdoor area. You often end up waiting 10-15 minutes before you see someone.

We had dinner at Papa Umi. The service was good and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a starter, a main course, and dessert. The value for money was excellent, and we were all satisfied. We'd be happy to go back!

Three of us stopped there today for something delicious to eat. I have to say, we were all very, very satisfied. The quality of the food was excellent, and there was also something delicious for our vegan companion. The food arrived quickly after we ordered, and while we waited, we could watch the chef prepare it. And in my opinion, this man does a fantastic job. They also served a cold, quick Asian beer. No one went thirsty. I can say I would go back anytime, because the food was amazing. Thanks for this little culinary journey.

I was in Koblenz for business and tried this restaurant. The starter was a curry coconut chicken soup, and the main course was coconut chicken with a fresh salad. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious.

The food was very tasty - as I know it. But the service was absolutely bad, there was no motivation at all to serve us. The toilets also looked a bit neglected and the Corona rules are still hanging there. It's a shame it's no longer what it used to be.

Don't you want to write down what is ordered? ...No, I remember that. Result: pineapple on the plate, even though it was said that it wasn't wanted. Soup small, to be clear...Question: small, or large?...Scallop scallops soft and bitter, with lettuce leaves soaked in sauce, two halves of mini mushrooms, four small. Melon pieces, PINEAPPLE, ....Almost 30€....Soup overloaded with coriander....Christmas lights, or Advent lights?....Dark in the restaurant...Why? ...to distract from the black, I don't know what, in the corner of the toilet? ....NEVER AGAIN!

I find the seating uncomfortable.

Diverse and tasty Asian cuisine

Really great Asia mix food in the area. Fresh salat and tasty Pho soup. Dining environment and atmosphere are good.

The food was super tasty and I had a lunch menu with a drink included :). I also found the atmosphere very pleasant since we were there at lunchtime. However, I found the service to be okay. Apparently she didn't want a tip for a little more effort.

Potitive: Food: Salad was fresh and dressing was delicious. Salmon super juicy. Service: Very friendly! Neutral: Drinks: were ok. Just the warm sake...I don't want to say it was watered down, but the first bowl tasted like water. Only further down in the carafe did you start to taste the sake. That was quite strange. Negative: Toilets: They were really dirty. Paper on the floor, the floor splattered, soap empty, puddle next to the sink.

The food usually arrives super quickly, is extremely tasty, and beautifully presented. I only deduct one star because I don't find it very comfortable to sit on those benches without backrests. Unfortunately, it's very crowded on Valentine's Day, and you have to wait significantly longer for everything!

The first time sushi after 9 months of pregnancy and then such a failure! Both the sushi itself and the soy sauce that came with it were simply completely tasteless. The rice was not seasoned and the avocado and mango were completely unripe. The ebi breading tasted like old frying fat, so a large part of the €60 order ended up in the trash can. The size of the portions also left a lot to be desired and the sushi was very carelessly “prepared” - i.e. pressed into two small plastic boxes without any decoration, so that the individual rolls stuck together and completely fell apart into their individual parts when I tried to eat them.

We've been eating there often for years, it always tastes the same, it's really good, and we feel good there too Quality is also great. But the prices are getting higher and higher, which is of course also due to the costs. But a tea for €5.40 with around 200ml is steep. We would also like to see new dishes or weekly offers for various NEW sushi creations.

All in all a well-rounded restaurant

We were given a voucher and went to eat there. The food was quite good but unfortunately only lukewarm, it was lightly seasoned but far too spicy for us, even with 2 small children. We asked beforehand whether this food could be eaten without any problems, which they answered yes, unfortunately it wasn't possible at all. At the end, when we wanted to pay with our voucher, we were informed that the voucher was not complete (the voucher was present, there was a receipt where the voucher was written on it, but a carbon copy was probably missing). We never received this carbon copy. We can't tell whether it was handed over to the buyer say. According to the waitress, they don't make any mistakes. The receipt was attached to the voucher with stapler needles and the waitress suddenly remembered that such stapler needles were not used and asked her what she wanted to accuse me of!!! I find this behavior really cheeky. I have to say, no accommodation was possible on their part and it would all be our fault. I drove away pretty horrified and had to pay for everything and Papaumi has an 80 € voucher + our meal of 70 € as a profit in the till. Unfortunately, customer friendliness is unheard of here, which is a shame.

Delicious Far Eastern cuisine, from sushi to Thai. The dishes are picture-perfect, absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. The service is very accommodating. The ambience is a bit too dark for me personally. The benches without backrests take some getting used to. Price performance is good. The homemade lemonades are very tasty. We always enjoy coming back there.

Lunch menus 1x Terriyaki with chicken Except for the broccoli and the beans, everything was cooked well. 1x Terriyaki with crispy duck Broccoli and beans as usual, almost raw food. The duck neither crispy nor juicy. Unfortunately that was nothing. Let's hope for improvement.

I'll try to remain as objective as possible with my review. Unfortunately the atmosphere is rather unpleasant. We sat inside the restaurant for a while and after a while the light was even turned on. Since there are only a few seats in the restaurant with backrests and it was also very warm, we moved our seats outside. The view of the construction fence isn't particularly pretty, but the restaurant can't help it. However, the tables and benches, the screen and the cabling could certainly be influenced by the operator. And well, it all seems a bit run down. Now about the food: the starter was okay. The lettuce under the summer rolls was very sparse and absolutely lackluster. The sauce, however, was great. The main course was okay, but here too the presentation was rather uninspiring. At least there were two chunks of avocado and two pieces of pineapple in my curry. The iceberg lettuce, on the other hand, was very generous. All in all, I understand “Fine Asian Dining” to be something different, but that could also be due to my expectations...

I used to enjoy eating here often. Unfortunately, the restaurant lets down more and more each time. This time the take-away lunch menu was missing soup, the sushi was completely tattered and the salad in the summer rolls looked ancient - at least from the day before. There was hardly anything going on... It didn't have to be that way. Very unfortunate.

We ate there several years ago and it was delicious. However, what we experienced yesterday was very cheeky. I was delighted with the good food and ordered a salad with duck breast (No. 51). To make it easier for the waitress, I told her the number of my dish and also pointed to it on the menu. After writing down our dishes, she repeated our order and simply said “the salad, so number 55” for my dish. I agreed because I assumed she had written it down correctly and my attention was also focused on my son at that moment. When the food came, there was a mango salad with tuna in front of me. This was obviously NOT what I ordered. I then told the waitress that too. She turned to her colleague, who was already on her way to us (as if she knew exactly that she had done something wrong) and told me in a cheeky tone that she had even repeated the order again and I had agreed to her . She also said that this dish is very expensive and that's exactly why she asked again. But if she knew that the dish was very expensive, why didn't she mention that it was the tuna when repeating it? The error would have been noticed immediately. At first there was no idea on their part as to how we could solve the problem. Instead, because they talked to me so much, they both made me feel so uncomfortable that I didn't know what to do or say at first. After a short break, they told me I could pack the fish, my husband could eat it and I should order an alternative. I then decided on the chicken breast so that the meal wouldn't be even more expensive than it already was. When I got the bill, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. €29.50 for the salad that I didn't order and €7! Additionally for the chicken breast. 🙄 I never received an apology and I was always very friendly. We will not visit this restaurant again.

The best Asian Fusion restaurant I know. Great dishes, fresh produce, beautifully presented. The only thing I personally don't like is the seating.

Few seats with backrests. Tables and chairs (or benches) have a kind of station clearance. The food tasted very, very good and was really inexpensive with a drink (lunch menu). So absolutely recommended!!!!!!! So I definitely have to stop by again for more food!!!!!!

We had date night and I wanted something other than burgers, pizza and the like. Mega nice restaurant with a small play area for children. We had the summer rolls with baked shrimp and various sushi as a starter, which came very quickly and was gone very quickly. The main course (name too complicated to remember) tasted really good, unfortunately a bit too spicy for my taste. The prawns were on point and my husband's duck was super tender. The salad was also right on the plate, i.e. on the hot sauce. It took some getting used to, but it worked. Price/performance ratio is great here! We'd love to come back.

Six of us sat on the terrace. It can be a bit noisy due to the playground right next door, but otherwise it was very comfortable. Both starters and main courses arrived very quickly and tasted excellent. When it comes to drinks, I can particularly recommend the Mango Calpico.

A wonderful taste experience in a cozy atmosphere. The dishes are appetizingly prepared with crisp salad and good quality products... a feast for the eyes as soon as they are served. The fruit drinks taste fantastic and go great with food. The service was really friendly and helpful, but seemed a little reserved or tense. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back soon to test Papa UMI's variety.

The best sushi restaurant far and wide! Every dish is artfully and lovingly decorated, there is no skimping on fish, and the taste is a highlight. It's an experience!

We ate there, unfortunately not again, it smelled strange at the table, there was a lot of salad on the plate. !!! (meat dish). There were three hairs in the food and there was hardly any reaction from the staff when we complained. Paid the bill, no oh we're sorry or anything. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a meal, I'll avoid these local places in the future. We wanted a different reaction when paying.

We visited for a “business lunch” (between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.) and were pleasantly surprised: the food stood out from the many Asian restaurants in terms of taste and appearance. The teas are also above average and tasty. The nice service and the very elaborate and successful design of the restaurant (with a lot of real wood) were fitting - a lot of work was clearly put into this. The illumination may be a bit too low for some, but I personally liked it. If we are in the area again, we would be happy to come back.

Wir sind jetzt seit mehreren Jahren Stammgäste. Die hier gebotene Qualität vor allem des Fischs (Thunfisch, Aal, Garnele, etc.) steht außer Frage. Herausragende Produkte. Das in Verbindung mit den aussergewöhnlichen Fähigkeiten des Sushi Chef ist wirklich top. Beste Küche zwischen Koblenz und Köln. Sehr zu empfehlen !

Das Essen war fad und eckelhaft, der Service war katastrophal, von insgesamt 10 Menschen um mich herum haben 3 das bestellte Essen bekommen. Ich hatte Hühnchen bestellt und Tofu bekommen was nicht schlimm gewesen wäre, wenn der Tofu nicht die Konsistenz von Wackelpudding gehabt hätte. Die Bedienung wollte das ich gleich nach der Bestellung zahle, obwohl noch keine Diensleistung entstanden war. Das Essen hat 65 Minuten auf sich warten lassen und war dann auch noch falsch, es wurde keine Entschuldigung ausgesprochen nur ein Achselzucken und der Kommentar "Hab ich Frau andere Tisch gegeben". Ich haber für vieles Verständnis aber ein solches Verhalten geht garnicht, schon garnicht wenn ich über 50€ bezahle.

Papa Umi war früher DIE Adresse im Umkreis Neuwied, wenn es um gute, thailändische Küche geht. Heute scheint mir das Restaurant nur noch als Notlösung, wenn man Heißhunger auf Sushi bekommt (was sie wirklich gut machen). Nettes Ambiente und toll geschmückte Teller sind jedoch nicht alles. Der Laden durchlebte über die Jahre zahlreiche Mitarbeiterwechsel. Nicht, dass dies grundlegend etwas schlechtes sei, jedoch wirkte es bislang so, als wäre jede neue Besetzung inkompetenter als die vorige. Bestellungen werden falsch aufgenommen, inkorrekt serviert und fehlerhafte Abrechnungen sind in unseren letzten Aufenthalten leider auch keine Seltenheit gewesen. Trotz mehrmaliger Chancen werden die vergangenen Besuche wahrscheinlich auch die letzten bleiben.

Das Papa Umi war lange einer unser Lieblingsrestaurants. Mittlerweile hat die Qualität und der Service stark nachgelassen. Das Restaurant ist auch nicht mehr stark besucht. Wir mussten trotzdem ewig auf die Bedienung und das Essen warten. Getränke nachzubestellen war nur möglich wenn man zur Theke gegangen ist. Zum Essen: Die Qualität war früher deutlich höher. Die Kokos Suppe war geschmacklich nur noch aufgewärmte Kokosmilch. Das Sushi war wie immer in Ordnung. Die Vorspeisenplatte war auch nicht das gelbe vom Ei. Die Sommerrollen waren mit den Krabbenchips zu einer Masse verklebt. etc. Das Kinderessen kam als letztes, Minuten nach dem letzen Hauptgericht, war die Entspannung der Eltern nicht gerade fördert. Wir werden uns ein neues Sushi Restaurant in der Gegend suchen.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Papa Umi. Asiatische Küche, Hauptsächlich Sushi. Das Lokal liegt in der Stadt. Draußen Rollstuhlgerecht, drinnen nur über eine Treppe erreichbar. Wir hatten als Vorspeise eine Kokossuppe und Fruhlingsrollen. Beides sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Dann gab es Tempura mit Avocado und Thunfisch. (SUSHI IM KNUSPERTEIG) auch sehr lecker. Es waren pro Portion 10 Stück. Das Ambiente ist eigentlich sehr schön, nur würden uns persönlich einzelne Tische besser gefallen. Hier sind es lange Bänke an denen mehrere Personen ihren Platz finden. Hat ein wenig Cantinencharakter. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich. Unser Sushi hat 15.50 euro pro Person gekostet. Preise sind etwas teurer gegenüber anderen, aber sehr lecker und hochwertig😊

Absolute Empfehlung! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne , ist unser Lieblingsrestaurant . Die Gerichte sind immer super frisch zubereitet und man sieht und schmeckt das sehr viel wert auf gute Qualität der Lebensmittel gelegt wird. Für mich das beste Sushi was ich bisher gegessen habe, haben schon viel ausprobiert aber in Neuwied bei Papa umi schmeckt es einfach immer am besten, da kommt sonst einfach keiner ran . Wir hoffen das dieser Standard noch ganz lange so anhält ♥️

Sehr lecker, Essen kam schnell und die Preise sind okay. Draußen sitzen ist schön und man wird dort auch nicht vergessen. Würde mir allerdings mehr Vegane Optionen wünschen vor allem Bei Vor- und Nachspeisen.
