Öz Urfa in Aachen

We happened to pass by the restaurant and stopped in. A very friendly welcome, a great atmosphere, and the food was delicious and good. Perfectly seasoned, the meat on our skewers was very juicy. We started with the appetizer platter, which was very tasty and plentiful. If we come back to Aachen, we'll definitely eat there again. Then we'll try the "grill platter," I promise 😉

We passed by the restaurant by chance and immediately fell in love with it. After our tour of Aachen, we decided to eat here. The food further reinforced our first impression. Fresh, delicious, simply good. A great end to the day. Many thanks to the team at Öz Urfa.

I ate at Öz Urfa in Aachen in 1988, and I have to say: it was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply authentic. The meat was tender and juicy, and the rice and flatbread were a perfect match. You can tell the quality here is top notch. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant itself is comfortably furnished and you immediately feel at home. For me, this is one of the best Turkish restaurants in Aachen. I'll definitely be back.

What a disgrace! I arrived long before the customer next to me, and their orders were placed before they could even begin their appetizers. My order was forgotten, and on top of that, the plate I requested didn't even arrive. I wish the lady had given us the same attention as she gives to the empty tables...

Very tasty food and excellent service

They brought us a menu, we wanted something Berlin döner style, I don't remember the name now, first he said they didn't have any bread but he said he would get it from a neighbor for you and took our order. The Berlin döner style product that came was not good at all, the döner inside was ice cold as if they put it in the fridge to prevent the meat from getting rotten and then brought it to us. The interesting thing is that the bread outside was between lukewarm and warm, I didn't like it that much, I won't go again. 2 stars because of their friendly attitude.

We had dinner 2 hours ago. So, we ordered a Beyti kebab and an Iskender kebab once. Both menus weren't up to scratch and (charged €4 more) I won't be back.

Unfortunately, although the food was delicious, the young, black-haired male waiter with glasses (I don't know his name) didn't serve us for minutes. He didn't bring us the drinks, the treats, or the menus we ordered. He was particularly attentive to other tables, bringing the food to the tables that arrived after us first. I particularly noted this. If you weren't going to serve, why did you take our order? Or why did you take the order of a table you'd never visit again? We sat at the table, and when no one came after fifteen minutes, we called this guy over and asked for the menu. He brought us the menu like that "then he says, in a cocky way, 'This kind of thing shouldn't be said to a customer. Finally, when the food hadn't arrived, we told the cheerful old gentleman "Yes, your food is late. He said he'll take care of it right away. That's how I knew he was deliberately delaying it. He brought all the food of the other tables he was attending to. He never came to our table. He directed another male waiter to his friend. Apart from him, the other waiters are very polite, have strong public relations, are attentive and hardworking, and try to serve multiple tables efficiently at the same time. The young waitress is the same way. She's cheerful and moves quickly. She's versatile and sensitive.

A spotlessly clean, elite, and affordable Turkish restaurant in Aachen. Look no further. Delicious food, pita bread, and kebabs await you. Our waiter, Şaban, from Bafra, is incredibly friendly and personable. And, surprisingly, the restroom is Turkish-style.

Feels like home! Lovely people, great food! We loved everything we had here. Lahmacun and doner are the best! I wish I had more space to try everything as they were all brilliant🤩 everyone was sooo friendly! If I come to Aachen again, this place will be the first spot I’ll visit 💜 thank you for everything.

Update: We've eaten here several times. Each time, the head waiter served us very friendly and courteous. The food was as good as ever. Only when the head waiter was off duty and not in the restaurant, the music was so loud that the waiter had to ask "huh?" twice every time we communicated, such as ordering, etc., and we had to say it twice. Definitely recommended. Fast service, everything was delicious. The mixed kebab was a 10. Experienced and friendly staff... recommended for those who crave kindness and quality food. My only advice to the restaurant is to diversify its appetizers a bit more and maintain quality despite the limited availability, becoming a true 5-star kebab restaurant.

The website says it's open at 10:00. We specifically came for breakfast, but unfortunately, it closed at 10:03 a.m. The employee inside said it would open at 11:30 a.m. You need to change the opening hours online in Google.

The service was disastrous! I was served by an older member of staff who asked me if I wanted some soup to go; I've never experienced anything like that in a restaurant. The man offered me a small table even though the place was almost empty! Then a young man asked me: would you JUST like some soup?! Would you like something to drink? Why do I have to drink something?! He then gave me the memory card, I washed my hands in the restroom and when I came back, the older man had taken the card away. I didn't have time to look at anything. After that I ONLY HAD TO PAY IN CASH, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NOTHING WRITTEN ON THE DOOR!!! There wasn't enough lentil soup! I HAD TO EXPERIENCE SO MUCH STRESS, CATASTROPHE! INCOMPETENCE! YOU'VE LOST A CUSTOMER!

Disappointed... after waiting 40min for the order. The dish is way too small for that price. Its overpriced... the waiters are rude and don't care about you at all.

The price for the kunefe was very high. €8 per portion. Unfortunately, there was hardly any mozzarella in it. The main flavor angel hair and syrup are additives. It had almost only angel hair and syrup. It's not appropriate to serve it for the price. Instead, inform the customer that there's either no mozzarella or charge less.

Definitely recommended, the owner was very friendly and took great care of us. They brought a plate full of hazelnut lahmacun as an apology for bringing 1 less lahmacun in the order. Adana kebab was very very delicious, nothing like the ordinary Adanas we have eaten in Europe. 10/10 restaurant ⭐️

The food was good and served quickly. However, the three waiters seemed more focused on talking to each other than paying attention to the customers. You had to wait or call them over whenever you wanted to order a drink. After the meal, you’re immediately offered a cup of Turkish tea, which is a nice touch — but apparently, wiping down the table didn’t cross their minds. It’s not that they were busy; they just seemed more interested in playing on their phones.

Leider war unser Besuch enttäuschend. Wir wurden nicht gut betreut und mussten sehr lange warten, um die Rechnung zu bezahlen. Trotz mehrmaliger Versuche, die Aufmerksamkeit des Personals zu bekommen, kam niemand zu uns. Das war sehr frustrierend und hat den Gesamteindruck des Restaurants stark beeinträchtigt.

We were here with my family last week. The folk song that the waiter sang loudly was nice, but it was out of place. We ordered a plate and he brought a wrap. There were too many small bone pieces in the meat soup. (I made a small mound on the edge of the plate from the bone pieces) The taste was okay. We assuaged our hunger as soon as possible and continued on our way.

I was there with my family for Iftar (breaking the fast). Unfortunately the food was catastrophic. Döner plate: You could hardly tell whether it was chicken or veal. The pieces were too big. Adana skewers: The meat was still raw and therefore inedible. The menu stated that baklava was also included. However, that never came. When we paid, we mentioned that the food wasn't good and were just told off with "Happened". This store used to be great. Unfortunately I don't know what happened.

We went as a family. A real disappointment we took durum for the children. Very little meat. Paper that sticks to the durum. For those who had it with salad, the durum was composed of 80% salad and 20% meat. The wait was long for ordering and service. We are disappointed 😞

The service is very slow. We went for iftar and there were no products included in the menu on our table. We had to ask for them all one by one. The staff was friendly and we should not take credit for it. Maybe it was because of the intensity, I don't know, that's why we did not get full service. I am thinking of going again. The restaurant “Öz Urfa 1988” in Aachen completely convinced me! The service and friendliness of the employees are outstanding - everyone was super nice, helpful and offered fast and friendly service. The food was simply great: large portions, very tasty, warm and quickly prepared. There are also fair prices, which makes the experience even better. A small point of criticism would be the ambience - although nice and modern, but unfortunately no longer as authentic as before the renovation. Still, it's worth a visit and I'll definitely be back!

We actually like going there, but now the quality has simply deteriorated. The food was just cold. The grill has to arrive really hot. I go there thinking everything will be fine but I always come out disappointed. Maybe I won't come anymore, but it's a shame.

I ate at Öz Urfa in the evening with my family, daughter, son-in-law and 2 small grandchildren. We received a very friendly and warm welcome and felt very comfortable and welcome. To start we were treated to 4 different appetizer bowls and delicious bread, all on the house. Really very amazing and grateful. I ordered lamb in flatbread and said: I have never eaten such delicately seasoned and deliciously fried lamb. Compliment the chef. At the end we were treated to a caj. I would like to thank you very much for the hospitality and the great service. All the best and see you next time. We'll be back.

We ordered (Mix Grill Platter×3) for six people. There wasn't enough meat for three people and instead of meat the plates were filled with rice, fries and bulgur. That was the first visit and the last

This restaurant doesn't even deserve one star. Service - you wait 15 minutes to get a card, then another 15 minutes for someone to come and eat. Food - if you were very hungry you could just about eat it. So overall the cutlery was very good 👍🏽

We have been eating there for a long time and can say that the food still tastes very good. Service needs improvement and could be a little more attentive. We made ourselves known several times with hand signals and apparently they didn't want/couldn't see us...

They have tasteless and very bad food. If you say service, it's terrible. The service upstairs is even worse. There were two waiters, neither of them knew anything about being a waiter, we asked for tea but it didn't come, I asked for soup and it came with the meal?? They do things that have nothing to do with the restaurant. We bought the mixed grill and it came on a very stingy plate, filled with chicken doner. In short, a very amateur and tasteless place. It is not very convincing that they have been doing this job since 1988. My advice to the owner of the place is to take a look at the place, stand by it and examine the situation. Prices are higher than the food.

Today there was supposed to be a cozy meal among colleagues. Nothing came of it. The entire restaurant staff was unable to coordinate the order for 8 guests. Soups ordered were not served, grill plates were served cold. Ordered side dishes were exchanged due to unavailability... etc. That was the first visit and also the last.

Normally I don't write reviews about a place, but I definitely have to point this out. Our food arrived late, one of us arrived, the other one didn't, it was cold, the service was terrible, they literally threw the basket of bread in front of us, the employees do not understand Turkish, we are from Belgium and we did not get a good service at all. In short, we did not like it even though it was our first time.
