Bestes Essen und bester Service in München!

Der Kellner war furchtbar und arrogant. Als wir nach der Speisekarte fragten, meinte er, sie stünde auf einem Schild auf der Straße. Nachdem ich mehrmals nachgefragt hatte, holte er das Schild und stellte es auf den Stuhl neben mich (damit ich es sehen musste). Schließlich riet mir der Restaurantbesitzer, in ein portugiesisches Restaurant zu gehen (da ich Portugiesisch spreche).

Ein altmodisches Restaurant mit erstklassigem Service und exzellenter Küche.

Das ist vielleicht so authentisch italienisch, wie man es in München nur bekommen kann!

Sehr aufmerksame und professionelle Bedienung. Essen gut bis sehr gut (Fisch!). Ambiente uneindeutig zw Touristengeprägt und etwas Innenstadt-Schickimicki. Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht ganz.

Der Abend mit Ihnen war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Jedes Gericht zeugte von Leidenschaft und Tradition, und Ihre Gastfreundschaft machte alles noch besonderer. Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, wiederzukommen und diese Eindrücke erneut zu erleben.

Ein exquisites italienisches Speiseerlebnis mit einer umfangreichen Weinkarte, die einige seltene Schätze umfasst.

Ich hatte große Erwartungen an dieses Restaurant in München, wurde jedoch leider enttäuscht. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier überhaupt nicht. Für die aufgerufenen Preise erwarte ich eine deutlich höhere Qualität – sowohl bei den Zutaten als auch bei der Zubereitung. Schon beim Brot beginnt es: Statt hausgemachtem Brot wurde ein einfaches Baguette serviert, wie man es aus dem Discounter kennt. Für ein Restaurant dieser Kategorie ist das schlicht unpassend. Auch die Gerichte selbst konnten nicht überzeugen. Die Pasta mit Vongole war ein gutes Beispiel dafür: Auf dem Teller befanden sich nur wenige vongole , die Pasta geschmacklich dominierte lediglich die Tomatensauce. Das feine Aroma der Vongole, das man eigentlich erwartet, ging komplett unter – gerade bei einem italienischen Restaurant sehr enttäuschend. Noch unverständlicher war das Fiorentina-Steak. Statt eines saftigen, warm servierten Steaks kam lediglich lauwarmes, dünn geschnittenes Fleisch auf den Teller, das eher an eine Tagliata erinnerte – jedoch ohne dies entsprechend auszuweisen. Das entspricht einfach nicht dem, was man bei einem „Steak“ erwartet. Insgesamt wirkt vieles lieblos und eher wie Imbissqualität, was in keiner Weise zu den gehobenen Preisen passt. Sehr schade – hier zahlt man viel Geld, ohne die entsprechende Qualität zu bekommen.

Wer Hunger hat, sollte das Lokal meiden. Die Portionen sind so klein, da wird vielleicht ein kleines Kind satt, aber kein Erwachsener, wobei die Qualität in Ordnung ist. Wer nicht lesen kann, ist in diesem Lokal allerdings richtig. Der Keller liest die ganze Karte vor, extrem nervig. Wer langsam isst, sollte vorsichtig sein, ansonsten kommt irgendein Kellner um die Ecke und nimmt den Teller einfach mit. Es gab einen Gruss aus der Küche, geschmacklich nicht definierbar. Zusammenfassend, das Lokal ist nicht zu empfehlen, schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, woher die ganzen guten Bewertungen kommen, keine Ahnung.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolute Empfehlung! Von Anfang bis Ende ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis im Herzen von München! Die Atmosphäre ist warm, einladend und perfekt für ein romantisches Dinner oder einen besonderen Abend mit Freunden. Die mediterran-italienische Küche ist einfach auf den Punkt: wunderbare, frische Zutaten, liebevoll zubereitet und fantastisch präsentiert – jedes Gericht ein Genuss für Gaumen und Auge. Der Service ist aufmerksam, freundlich und sehr professionell, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Besonders beeindruckt haben uns die hausgemachten Pasta-Varianten und die kreativen Interpretationen klassischer mediterraner Gerichte (man schmeckt wirklich die Liebe zum Detail!). Auch die Auswahl an Weinen und Aperitifs passt perfekt zum Menü und rundet den Abend ideal ab. Ein Restaurant, das ich ohne zu zögern wieder besuchen würde – absolute 5 ⭐️! 🍷🍝🇮🇹

Wir haben hier am Valentinstag gegessen und waren sehr positiv überrascht, so ein gutes Restaurant zu finden. Wir haben das Menü des Küchenchefs gewählt und es war köstlich. Auch der Service war hervorragend, alle waren sehr freundlich.

Update 05.02.2026: Ein rotes Wintermärchen – CocoRadicchio im Katzlmacher 🤩 Wir waren gestern zum CocoRadicchio-Event im Katzlmacher zu Gast und sind erneut tief beeindruckt, wie innovativ man den edlen Radicchio Tardivo inszenieren kann. Das Menü war eine Offenbarung: Von der luftigen Radicchio-Mousse auf Pan de Cristal als Einstieg bis hin zum mutigen, aber genialen Radicchioeis zur Schokoladentarte. Mein persönliches Highlight waren die Strozzapreti mit Kalbs-Genovese – die bittere Note des Radicchio harmonierte perfekt mit der Tiefe des Fleisches. Eine wunderbare Geste war die Hauptspeise: Die Lammschulter, eine Hommage an 'Shane vom Asam Schlössl', serviert mit einem süffigen Augustiner aus dem Holzfass. Die Gastfreundschaft von Herrn Cherubini und seinem Team bleibt unerreicht. Man merkt bei jedem Gang und jeder Weinbegleitung (besonders der Etna Bianco war fantastisch), dass hier mit absoluter Hingabe gearbeitet wird. Ein großes Lob auch für die wunderschöne Tischdeko mit der Radicchio-Blume. Wir zählen schon die Tage bis zum CocoFungo im Herbst! Meine Frau und ich durften am 15.10.2025 beim diesjährigen „CocoFungo: Convivio – 4 Hände Dinner“ im „Der Katzlmacher“ zu Gast sein und sind restlos begeistert! Der Empfang – Wie nach Hause kommen: Obwohl wir keine Stammgäste sind, wurden wir von Geschäftsführer Herrn Giorgio Cherubini und dem gesamten Team empfangen, als wären wir „alte Freunde“. Dieses Gefühl von herzlicher, familiärer Gastfreundschaft ist im „Katzlmacher“ allgegenwärtig und macht den Aufenthalt so besonders. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, wie im eigenen Wohnzimmer. Hier lebt man die Philosophie „Vergiss die Liebe nicht...“ bis ins kleinste Detail der Zutaten. Die Atmosphäre – Ein Genuss für alle Sinne: Die musikalische Untermalung durch den Tenor Giuseppe Del Duca und Antonio war die perfekte Ergänzung. Be ready for the best food of your life! Italian family fine dining restaurant! Everything was on point! Coming back!

I remember Katzlmacher from when they were located at the English Garden. I've always had fond memories of it. Two years ago, I visited the Hofbräuhaus location for the first time and was very satisfied. The service is impeccable, and it's nice that you still recognize the waiters (there are no waitresses) even after all these years. This time (2025), however, the food left much to be desired. The appetizer still showed the ingenuity of creating refined delicacies from Italian cuisine (marinated sturgeon in apple sauce), but the main course (venison with Brussels sprouts and chestnuts) was far too small for the price and much too overcooked without any finesse. At €55, it was outrageous! I think the location at the Hofbräuhaus has corrupted their standards... the clientele was 90% male – I suspect businessmen who don't care about the price since the company is paying. Prices can be high, even if it means the chef's motivation is dwindling. I hope Katzlmacher sticks to their concept of cooking wonderful Italian food, even if the clientele there isn't so discerning and is willing to pay any price. I know they're talented, but this way they're headed for becoming a tourist trap! That would be a real shame!

This was the last meal of my trip, and it was the best one! My waiter, Antonio, made my experience very special by making fantastic food suggestions, delicious wine pairings, and educational information about dishes and wine with some history. As a solo traveler, I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere so much. The pasta was al dente—perfectly cooked. The selection of wines is excellent. Hands down, this is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. If I'm back in Munich at some point, I would love to return for another meal and the experience that comes with it. Thank you!

Update 2025-07-21: someone of the restaurant tried to get rid off the negative Evaluation via Google. Doesn‘t Work. My recommendation: try to delivered high Quality and Not to claim against negative evaluations. My original Version, still unchanged: Poor Performance. Expensive wines, menu not printed, only on mobile boards . Pasta served too hot and tasteless. I can‘t recommend this Restaurant.

The food is very good. Still grossly overpriced. No real menu. Just a table with a few dishes. Things are charged twice. The portions have been significantly larger over the years. For me, the recent experience was the last time. I can understand the other comments.

Top food, service and a special wine list.

It's my favorite restaurant in Munich. They are very consistent on the quality and service. My family and friends love to go there everytime that we are in town.

Italian restaurant located in the upper area. You have to expect around 90 euros per person for three courses without wine. We needed the three courses to fill us up. That worked too. Each of us had different things. For the main course I had beef, obviously a preparation with ox cheeks. That was good. In a Gault Millau rating the dishes would be given 12 out of 20. You sit nicely, the tables are set in white and the dishes follow at the right distance. So far everything is fine. What is also very nice is the service, always friendly, always ready, not intrusive but appropriate. Overall, I liked it here. There is no such great price-performance ratio at the restaurant. If you know the boundary conditions, that's okay.

Spontaneously decided on the Katzlmacher with friends; there was also a free table outside. There is one star for the very good quality and taste of the food and another for the original "greetings from the kitchen" (grissini wrapped in ham). But in our opinion the price-performance ratio was not at all good. Pasta dishes for around €27 are the size of a starter. Squid (as a starter) was also too expensive at €33.

This place was great. It would have been excellent if they had offered a proper dinner instead of rushing and limiting the number of courses we could order. Granted it was a little late but I think it had more to do with the party of 40 they were busy fawning over… I had eggplant Parmesan with no pasta and it was still awesome. I made up for it by stealing Chloe’s pasta while she wasn’t looking ^_^

Mediocre dinner for a far too high price. Don't go here because it's definitely not worth the money. When you indicate that you are not satisfied, the waiter indicates that he actually understands this. But he doesn’t seem to care. No attempt whatsoever to solve the problem or compensate for it. A wonderful place for Italian food. We always take the menu and are never disappointed. The wines are great and you enjoy very attentive and courteous service. The whole thing has its price, but you can also enjoy really good Italian food. I wouldn't want to miss this store in Munich because it is a real feel-good place.

Anyone who appreciates high-quality Italian cuisine cannot miss a visit to the Katzlmacher Osteria. Here, culinary art is offered at the highest level in a dignified ambience and with perfect service. This has its price but it is definitely worth it.

It was okay. There were many waiters. You won't get a menu, the waiter explains the Italian menu. I understand this concept, but I prefer a menu in my language and I prefer to have enough time to decide what I want. I would like it more if the waiter explains some of the meals additionally besides the menu. We got a small starter as a "Gruß aus der Küche". The meal was good, the noodles were also good, but a little bit too "al dente". The meals are small and the prices higher than in other restaurants - but all in all still good for what you receive.

I would recommend this place for people who are looking for a descent restaurant with solid food and friendly, quiet (no music) atmosphere. Maybe for family gatherings or business dinner. Very tentative, polite service. Drinks quite overpriced- 8.90 euros for a bottle of water is a bit ridiculous.

Also ich habe kein Problem mit hochpreisigen Restaurants wenn die Leistung stimmt. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und wir wurden zu einem Menü gedrängt. Zwei Vorspeisen, ein Hauptgang. Wir hatten 2 Flaschen Wasser. Das Essen war nicht schlecht aber auch nicht richtig gut... aber sicher nicht pro Person 120 Euro wert. Also ein Essen für 3 Personen 360 Euro. Ich habe mich zum Essen und zum Preis nicht geäußert, weil ich Gäste hatte. Ein weiteres Mal werde ich nicht dort zum Essen gehen.

Wir haben uns sehr auf den Besuch in diesem Restaurant gefreut. Wir wurden auch freundlich empfangen. Dann hat uns der Kellner allerdings mit Nachdruck dazu überredet wir sollen doch das drei Gänge Menü nehmen, dann macht uns die Küche etwas als Überraschung. Schön und gut dachten wir, dann soll es das Überraschungsmenu sein. Die Vorspeise waren vier kleine Scheiben Kalbfleisch als Vitello Tonnato angemacht und ein Walnuss großer Ziegenkäase im Schinkelmantel gebraten. Portion sehr klein, Geschmack medium, effektiver Kostenpunkt auf der Rechnung 27€! (Es würde kein Menüpreis gemacht sondern einfach nur die effektiven Preise der Einzelspeisen von der Karte berechnet!) Um nicht zu sehr ins Detail zu gehen, der Pasta-Zwischengang war in ebenfalls eher mäßig - Nudeln nicht al dente, was ich für eine Osteria schwach finde und nur lauwarm. Hauptgang geschmacklich gut, aber ebenfalls leider zu kalt. Effektiv haben wir für 3 Personen ( Getränke schlagen mit nur 2 Flaschen Wasser zu Gewicht) 360€ (!!!) Euro bezahlt. Leider ist das Preis Leistungsverhältnis meiner Ansicht nach mehr als schwach und persönlich würde hier nicht nochmal essen. Nicht weil ich nicht bereit bin diese Summe an Geld für Essen auszugeben, sondern weil es im Verhältnis zum Preis leider geschmacklich nicht überzeugend war. Zudem strahlt das Lokal leider kaum Ambiente aus und es ist sehr laut. Schade!

Gehobene italienische Küche in traditionell italienischer, stilvoller Atmosphäre - Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Die Weinkarte ist umfangreich in Rebsorte sowie Qualität. Das Essen ist sehr gut und wird über sehr aufmerksamen und klassischen Service komplettiert.

This is literally one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The menu changes daily and is always fresh. We trusted our server and chef to craft us a multiple course dinner, and every course was amazing. Perfect wine pairing as well. I cannot recommend this place enough

Super Service und super leckere Trüffelpasta

Feels very old-school, can't imagine anyone younger than 45 going there to eat on their own accord. Lunch menu was limited, I don't know what's it like at dinner time and whether it changes according to meal. Redeeming factor was the waiter who was the most patient person, and tiramisu which was very classic, remarkably airy, creamy and delicious.

Keine Speisekarte. Stattdessen wird eine Tafel mit ein paar Fisch, Nudeln und Fleischgerichten vorgehalten. Man muss sich sofort entscheiden. Aufdringliche Bedienung. Vorspeise oder Wein wird einem aufgebunden. Unprofessionelle Kommentare. Ich würde dieses Lokal nicht empfehlen. Die Qualität der Essens ist aber 1A.

Was in Munich for two weeks and needed something other than German fare and wow did they deliver. Incredible food from a changing menu, presentation was Michelin star level, our hysterical waiter was like family by the end of the meal. This is top notch Italian by anyone's standards.

The food was very good, besides the dessert. I enjoyed spaghetti with clams, which was excellent. Also the eggplant tomato and cheese was good.

- Italian Casual Fine Dining: alles richtig gemacht - Durch einen Podcast bin ich auf den Katzlmacher aufmerksam geworden und direkt mal ausprobiert: und fand es absolut hervorragend. Anfangs wirkte der Service bei der Begrüßung etwas steif, das hat sich aber schnell gelegt. Wir wurden hervorragend versorgt und umsorgt und der freundliche Kellner hatte auch stets einen manchmal neckenden, aber stets herzlichen Spruch auf Lager. Der Wein war hervorragend - aus der wirklich sehr umfangreichen Weinkarte aber auch nicht einfach rauszufinden. Eine klassische Speisekarte gibt es nicht wirklich, stattdessen ein Schild, dass die Angestellten von Tisch zu Tisch tragen und gerne Empfehlungen geben. Das fand ich schonmal sehr sympathisch. Amuse-Gueule (Gruss aus der Küche) war ein Focaccia. Fischgeschmack ist da nicht jedermanns Sache, aber es war gut. Als ersten Gang hatten wir dann Wolfsbarsch und gebackene Zucchini-Blüten. Beides war sehr lecker, hätte aber etwas mehr Würze oder Schärfe vertragen können. Als Hauptgang sind wir auf Pasta: Die Pappardelle mit Bison-Ragu war ein Traum. Das Fleisch unheimlich zart und saftig und intensiv im Geschmack - ich kann das Gericht nur wärmstens empfehlen. Unter den Desserts war das Panna Cotta und der warme Schokoladenkuchen sehr ansprechend. Der Kuchen hätte aber etwas „saftiger“ sein können - war wohl etwas zu lange im Ofen. Das Panna Cotta hat dafür nicht enttäuscht: Wie erhofft war es ohne Gelatine sondern wirklich gekochte Sahne. Das ist schon lecker. Zum Abschluss noch einen Marolo Grappa. War ein toller Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder!

Il miglior ristorante italiano a Munchen... da provare il prosciutto...

Wie immer sehr bemüht, fantastisches Essen, gute Weine und super Service. Absolut empfehlenswert und mehr als 5 Sterne sind hier leider nicht möglich.

Erstes mal hier gewesen. Schönes Ambiente. Freundlicher Kellner. Essen auf hohem Niveau, die Preise aber auch.

Beeindruckendes kulinarisches Erlebnis.

Ein gelungener Abend! Das Restaurant konnte in punkto Service, Qualität und Freundlichkeit absolut überzeugen. Wir kamen recht früh und hatten so fast freie Platzwahl. Der gemütliche Tisch in der Ecke kam uns sehr gelegen, vertrauliche berufliche Dinge durchzusprechen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett, aber nicht aufdringlich. Die Weinberatung war exquisite. Die Speisen haben alle durch die Bank hervorragend geschmeckt (Der Polipo war besonders gut meiner Meinung nach) und waren schön drapiert. Gut Dinieren hat hier zwar seinen Preis, aber es lohnt sich. Danke!

8人公务宴请，纯纯的意大利餐厅，但没想到的是居然纯到没有德语和英语菜单，全餐厅只有一个贴在巨大圆形木板上的意大利餐单，这让不懂意大利语的客人，情以何堪！前餐基本无雷，都可以点，水平在4分以上；主菜，牛肉酱汁的宽面已及松露兔肉饺子不太行，其他基本都有4分，提拉米苏可以给到4.5分
