Osteria Cuatro Gatos in Bamberg

Wir haben uns zu zweit eine Pizza Capricciosa und Penne con Pollo geteilt und konnten uns beide nicht entscheiden was davon besser schmeckte. Es war beides wirklich überragend gut. Sehr sehr lecker und wirklich zu empfehlen.

Die Pizzen waren in Ordnung. Das selbstgebraute Bier zum Radler schmeckte sehr gut.

Ich wollte telefonisch etwas bestellen und wurde sofort aggressiv/konfrontativ angesprochen. Auf die Art was mir einfällt dort zu bestellen. Weiter musste ich mir dann Aussagen wie "was wollen Sie eigentlich, Sie halten mich von der Arbeit ab..." anhören.

Sehr gemütliche und großzügige Tapas Bar. Die Tapas sind alle frisch zubereitet und wirklich lecker. Schneller und freundlicher Service mit guter Beratung (..slieber nachbestellen als dass es zu viel wird...). Die Preise sind gut und angemessen für die Leistung.

Wir haben hier wirklich wunderbar gegessen. Der Service war hervorragend und wir bekamen nach dem Essen einen Limoncello. Sehr empfehlenswert für einen Besuch in Bamberg.

Eine kleine Pizzeria mit Holzofen und sehr frischen Zutaten. Ist nicht nur Take a Way. Läuft italienische Musik und Ambiente sehr familiär.

0 Sterne. Ich habe für 5 Personen reserviert. Unsere Reservierung war nur für 4 Personen. Der Besitzer ist mega unfreundlich und hat uns schon vor dem Eingang angeschnauzt mit „ist eh alles ausgebucht“. Außerdem wurden wir dann des Restaurants verwiesen, weil wir einen Hund dabei hatten. Die Aussagen wir hätten den Hund ankündigen müssen und Hunde sind in Restaurants allgemein nicht erlaubt widersprechen sich meiner Meinung nach. Sowas unfreundliches habe ich noch nie erlebt. Sind dann gegangen.

Pizza kann ich nur empfehlen. PS: Eure Messer sind extrem Stumpf. Habe ich bei jedem Gast der Pizza geschnitten hatte festgestellt. Bittet dem Gast doch bitte an, dass die Pizza schon vorgeschnitten ist.

Das Essen war okay bis gut. Doch das Service war total planlos und überfordert.

Super lecker gegessen. Am Service kann noch etwas gearbeitet werden. Hätten wir unsere Getränke zügiger bekommen und hätten wir nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass wir nach den Vorspeisen noch unsere Hauptgerichte bestellen müssen, wären wir sehr gut mit unserem Zeitslot von 2 Stunden hingekommen

Die Osteria Cuatro Gatos ist für mich klein, aber sehr gemütlich – genau das macht den Charme aus. Die Pizza war für mich super und schmeckt schön authentisch italienisch. Auch die Bedienung war freundlich und hat den Besuch angenehm abgerundet. Für mich ein schöner Ort, ich komme gerne wieder.

Toller kleiner Italiener mit mega gutem Essen. Leider hat es immer ziemlich lange gedauert, bis Essen oder Getränke kamen...was eigentlich nicht schlimm ist, aber dadurch konnten wir unseren Zeitslot von 2 Stunden nicht einhalten und wurden am Ende etwas unfreundlich mehr oder weniger hinauskomplimentiert

Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Service sehr freundlich und sie geben sich viel Mühe. Daher sehe ich von der Wartezeit ab.

Nettes Restaurant. Nicht zu viele Tische, und von Italienern geführt. Leise italienische Musik im Hintergrund. Ich hatte während einer Geschäftsreise nach Bamberg eine Pizza (Mortadella Burrata). Sehr lecker, guter Boden und reichlich mit frischen Zutaten belegt. Auch die Pasta an den anderen Tischen sah sehr gut aus.

Absolute Empfehlung in Bamberg! Die Osteria Cuatro Gatos ist ein echtes kleines Juwel. Das Essen ist einfach hervorragend – besonders die Steinofenpizza ist absolut spitze: knusprig, frisch belegt und geschmacklich einfach top. Auch die Salate sind richtig lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Dazu kommt ein super Service, bei dem man sich vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlt. Das Lokal selbst ist zwar eher klein, hat aber gerade dadurch einen ganz besonderen Charme und eine super gemütliche Atmosphäre. Und bei gutem Wetter ist die Sitzmöglichkeit in der Austraße einfach perfekt, um entspannt draußen zu genießen. Alles in allem ein rundum gelungener Besuch – 5 Sterne und eine klare Empfehlung!

Sehr hübsch eingerichtet, hochwertige Qualität, stilvoll. 🍶🍇 Nur 1 Servicekraft für ca. 10 Tische und knapp 30 Gäste inkl. Bar. Ich war zweimal dort, beide Male unter der Woche, es war komplett voll, jeder Tisch besetzt und der Mitarbeitende musste zusätzlich zum Bedienen, Bezahlen, Abräumen und Essen servieren auch noch alle Getränke an der Theke selbst vorbereiten. Naturgemäß hat ein Mensch allein keine 8 Arme und kann nicht überall gleichzeitig sein, sodass es nicht ausbleibt dass man etwas länger warten muss. Für diese herausfordernde Aufgabe haben die beiden unterschiedlichen Kollegen, (jeweils einer) an beiden Abenden dies bestmöglich bewältigt. Ich fand sie für den Stress freundlich, der Nachbartisch reagierte auf die Wartezeit eher ungehalten. Die Tische stehen zusätzlich sehr eng beisammen, sodass man kaum durch kommt. Dies hat ebenfalls etwas Zeit gekostet, da man nicht ohne weiteres die Tische abräumen kann, ohne Gäste anzurempeln. Wer Platzangst hat ist hier meiner Meinung nach fehl am Platze. 📝 Die Tische wurden am Abend mehrfach besetzt und es wurden auch während unserer Zeit teils Gäste weggeschickt, weil gerade nichts frei war. Eine Reservierung ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen! 👨‍🍳🌱 Das Essen war bodenständig, wir hatten am einen Abend Pizza und am anderen die Ravioli probiert. Beides hat gut geschmeckt. Manches von der Karte war aus. 🛋️🏮Das Interieur ist chick, gemütlich teils mit Bank, die Qualität ist hochwertig aber man darf es wirklich nicht eilig haben. Wer sich darauf einstellt bekommt einen netten Abend, mit guten Getränken und kuscheliger Atmosphäre. Eine zweite Servicekraft fände ich persönlich eine gute Idee, aber wir fanden es auch so unterhaltsam (wir wissen jetzt, dass man besser gleich zwei Getränke bestellt) und kommen sehr gerne wieder 👍

Auch kleine Hunde sind leider nicht erlaubt.

Waren heute zum Essen hier. Spaghetti Mare waren ausgezeichnet mit sehr vielen Scampis. Meine Frau hatte Insalato Pesce mit Lachs und Scampis. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Hallo zusammen, ich bin einer der vier Italiener von letzter Woche. Wir sehen uns nächstes Jahr! 🔝

Das Essen war absolut köstlich! Der Service war hervorragend und die Angestellten sehr freundlich. Die drei verschiedenen Soßen zur Auswahl für meine Pizza fand ich besonders nett.

Das Essen war furchtbar! Die Salate waren okay, aber das Brot war altbacken und beide Hauptgerichte waren so schlecht, dass keiner von uns etwas aufessen konnte. Der Prosecco war schal, und als wir Wasser bestellten, bekamen wir statt einer Flasche stillem und einer Flasche mit Kohlensäure zwei Gläser Wasser. Mein „kohlensäurehaltiges“ Wasser war fast schal. Hier ist ein Foto meiner Carbonara. Man sieht, dass die Eier mit den Nudeln verkocht sind. Sie sollte cremig sein, nicht wie Rührei aussehen. Ich hatte Caprese-Salat bestellt, bekam aber statt Büffelmozzarella einen Burrata-Käseball mit ein paar Salatblättern.

Klare 6 von 5 ⭐! Was ein tolles Restaurant, hier passt einfach alles und das Essen ist ein Traum! Aussagen wie "Ich hab lang nicht mehr so gut gegessen..." sind an unserem Tisch mehrfach gefallen! Tut euch den Gefallen und geht hier Essen, die Preise sind absolut okay und das Personal der Wahnsinn, so freundlich und mit ganz viel Liebe zum Detail, um uns den Aufenthalt noch zu versüßen!

The "Pastrami" pizza is delicious. It's topped with plenty of pastrami, cherry tomatoes, and avocado. A delicious combination that I've never seen or enjoyed anywhere else. Thank you for this culinary delight!

Everything is simply fantastic! Yes, it's a small space. And yes, it's quite loud in there when all the tables are occupied. But isn't that exactly what creates the atmosphere there!? We were very satisfied with the service, taste, portions, and price. We recommend making a reservation in advance. Simply amazing!

A very pleasant restaurant, small but cozy, and the food is always excellent. The pizzas, pinsas, and pasta are perfect every time. The daily specials always feature something new. Prices are reasonable, and service is always quick and attentive. They always find a spot for us, even when we knock on the door. Highly recommended.

Good quality Italiano food. The Carbonara was true to the taste, excellent quality ingrediences. The bruschetta was a classic bmno nonse version. It would have been nice to have an Sangiovese or even better Nero d'avola wine, but the Merlot was nice.

We had a relaxing meal here today. Unfortunately, despite the online information, they didn't serve pizza, only pinsa. My ordered portion of tortellini was a bit of a flop. For a mere €13, I didn't feel full (see photo). The pinsa dough was very tasty, but unfortunately, the toppings were less so. The staff were very friendly. You can sit outside here. Conclusion: Great location, food relatively expensive for small portions.

Very delicious food! The pasta with shrimp and cherry tomatoes and the gnocchi with Gorgonzola were very creamy and moist; I've never tasted such delicious gnocchi. The portions were very generous, so you could pack a takeaway. Blankets were provided for outside because it was chilly. The tea was organic. The lunch specials made it particularly good value.

very nice osteria in the city center. The service was impeccable - the lady Margerita from Sardinia🤌🇮🇹 was very friendly, agile & nice. The beer was flawless, fresh, the food too. The atmosphere inside was very clean also toilets. I definitely recommend it and we will definitely visit this place again when we visit Bamberg again.

Authentic Italian, sit down and feel good, friendly team, delicious food, very good wine, for us the best Italian restaurant in town!

As a family (2 adults, 2 children), we had to wait over an hour for three of our four ordered dishes to arrive. We canceled the last one after 1 hour and 15 minutes. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but with the exception of drinks, orders generally seem to take a very long time. The restaurant was only half full (only outside seating plus 2 tables inside). Unfortunately, the food isn't very tasty. The pinsa is hot and crispy, but the pinsa pane needs a bit more salt, and the salad is a lackluster mix of tiny shreds of lettuce and whole, large lettuce leaves in a dressing that was mostly water. The beetroot carpaccio consists of a few slices of pickled beetroot from a jar. A glass of milk is spicier than the penne all'arrabiata.

Unfortunately, the staff constantly smoking cigarettes at the table next to you while you're eating is a real turn-off. It's a shame... The food was a German version of Italian cuisine. A 6/10. Lots of salt.

Watery bruschetta, tasteless pinsa. Quite expensive for the quality. Felt pressured to finish eating the starter as the server practically came and took my plate the second I had started my last bite. Immediately afterwards the main course was there. The salt and pepper box was simply removed from our table arbitrarily in the middle of our dinner. No napkins on the table. Quite dated and run down decor in general (think scuffed surfaces, missing colour on table and chairs).

First of all, the male waiter was very enthusiastic and cheerful, which is a rare high-quality service in Germany, which is worthy of praise. Then, for the food, I ordered thin-sliced beef tenderloin with Italian bread. The bread was cold, and it would be more fragrant and delicious if it was cold, but overall it was still very delicious; the pizza base was full of fragrance, chewy but not crispy, and the combination of tomatoes, cheese and ham was very harmonious, very delicious! Recommended!

Absolutely pathetic and average Italian food - our Gnocchi barely had any flavour, the Bruschetta just had tomato and balsamic vinegar and the Pizza we ordered was supposed to have Pistachio (as per the menu), but there was barely any - as if they were trying to increase margins and cut costs. You’ll find many better Italian places in Bamberg. I don’t know how they have high ratings here

The quality of the pasta and pinsa romana was excellent and the house-made fresh garlic oil and basil oil were heavenly. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

This is the best authentic carbonara I've had in Bamberg! It's without cream. If you want it with cream, you're definitely out of place. Super delicious pasta!

The atmosphere was good, the service okay. But the food was really good. The best pinsa we've eaten so far. The dough was nice and crispy, but also soft. There was just the right amount of topping: not too much, but not too little. Both pinsas were very flavorful, and a lot of effort was put into the ingredients. Unfortunately, there was no option to order them with vegan cheese. That's the only thing that could be improved. Conclusion: Highly recommended for anyone who loves pinsas.

I don't know what to think about it. I really had to force myself to eat the pizza. I ate it there, and it was fresh from the oven, but by the time I got to the table, it was already cold and the base was soggy. It was impossible to eat a slice with my hands. The sauce and toppings didn't taste good, and they weren't fresh either. It's not acceptable as an Italian pizza.

Great meal in a wonderful location. The staff was incredibly welcoming. The fig and goat cheese ravioli was out of this world!

The food was very good, some of the pasta shapes (all homemade) were already sold out, but that's a sign that everything is fresh.

The food was truly delicious. We had two pinsa pastas, a large salad, and the ravioli with spinach and ricotta. Highly recommended!

*Update 06.2026: Pizzas as such are no longer available, only pinsa. These are still very tasty. Unfortunately, during our visit, the coffee machine was turned off at 8:30 PM. We were offered an espresso beforehand, but that wasn't an option for us before the food arrived. Dessert, including the espresso, was therefore skipped for us. Otherwise, good quality, delicious food. There are also vegetarian dishes and the popular three different oils for finishing (be sure to ask). ----- Original review Awesome pizza, great salads, and you can sit comfortably outside. Positive: Pinsa quattro formaggi Service and ambiance Negative: My pasta carbonara...very bland pasta, lacking seasoning. The processed Parmesan also had no flavor. Unfortunately, the only flavor that came from the well-cooked bacon was overpriced. €16 per dish for the pasta is too expensive, considering the taste.

The best carbonara I've ever eaten. I could only get a table outside. The restaurant was fully booked.

I was very disappointed. 6 out of 8 people at our table didn't get what they ordered. The menu called for fresh pasta in a special shape, but we got fusilli from a packet, which would have been okay if it hadn't tasted so bland. The waiter didn't show up again. He wanted a lot, but he couldn't deliver.

What a shame. We had to wait a long time and didn't get the fresh pasta that was advertised on the menu!
