Authentic Italian, sit down and feel good, friendly team, delicious food, very good wine, for us the best Italian restaurant in town!

As a family (2 adults, 2 children), we had to wait over an hour for three of our four ordered dishes to arrive. We canceled the last one after 1 hour and 15 minutes. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but with the exception of drinks, orders generally seem to take a very long time. The restaurant was only half full (only outside seating plus 2 tables inside). Unfortunately, the food isn't very tasty. The pinsa is hot and crispy, but the pinsa pane needs a bit more salt, and the salad is a lackluster mix of tiny shreds of lettuce and whole, large lettuce leaves in a dressing that was mostly water. The beetroot carpaccio consists of a few slices of pickled beetroot from a jar. A glass of milk is spicier than the penne all'arrabiata.

Unfortunately, the staff constantly smoking cigarettes at the table next to you while you're eating is a real turn-off. It's a shame... The food was a German version of Italian cuisine. A 6/10. Lots of salt.

Watery bruschetta, tasteless pinsa. Quite expensive for the quality. Felt pressured to finish eating the starter as the server practically came and took my plate the second I had started my last bite. Immediately afterwards the main course was there. The salt and pepper box was simply removed from our table arbitrarily in the middle of our dinner. No napkins on the table. Quite dated and run down decor in general (think scuffed surfaces, missing colour on table and chairs).

Very tasty and reasonably priced.

First of all, the male waiter was very enthusiastic and cheerful, which is a rare high-quality service in Germany, which is worthy of praise. Then, for the food, I ordered thin-sliced beef tenderloin with Italian bread. The bread was cold, and it would be more fragrant and delicious if it was cold, but overall it was still very delicious; the pizza base was full of fragrance, chewy but not crispy, and the combination of tomatoes, cheese and ham was very harmonious, very delicious! Recommended!

Absolutely pathetic and average Italian food - our Gnocchi barely had any flavour, the Bruschetta just had tomato and balsamic vinegar and the Pizza we ordered was supposed to have Pistachio (as per the menu), but there was barely any - as if they were trying to increase margins and cut costs. You’ll find many better Italian places in Bamberg. I don’t know how they have high ratings here

The quality of the pasta and pinsa romana was excellent and the house-made fresh garlic oil and basil oil were heavenly. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

This is the best authentic carbonara I've had in Bamberg! It's without cream. If you want it with cream, you're definitely out of place. Super delicious pasta!

The atmosphere was good, the service okay. But the food was really good. The best pinsa we've eaten so far. The dough was nice and crispy, but also soft. There was just the right amount of topping: not too much, but not too little. Both pinsas were very flavorful, and a lot of effort was put into the ingredients. Unfortunately, there was no option to order them with vegan cheese. That's the only thing that could be improved. Conclusion: Highly recommended for anyone who loves pinsas.

Everything was delicious and the prices were reasonable! I could have eaten all the delicious ravioli!

I don't know what to think about it. I really had to force myself to eat the pizza. I ate it there, and it was fresh from the oven, but by the time I got to the table, it was already cold and the base was soggy. It was impossible to eat a slice with my hands. The sauce and toppings didn't taste good, and they weren't fresh either. It's not acceptable as an Italian pizza.

Great meal in a wonderful location. The staff was incredibly welcoming. The fig and goat cheese ravioli was out of this world!

The food was very good, some of the pasta shapes (all homemade) were already sold out, but that's a sign that everything is fresh.

The food was truly delicious. We had two pinsa pastas, a large salad, and the ravioli with spinach and ricotta. Highly recommended!

*Update 06.2026: Pizzas as such are no longer available, only pinsa. These are still very tasty. Unfortunately, during our visit, the coffee machine was turned off at 8:30 PM. We were offered an espresso beforehand, but that wasn't an option for us before the food arrived. Dessert, including the espresso, was therefore skipped for us. Otherwise, good quality, delicious food. There are also vegetarian dishes and the popular three different oils for finishing (be sure to ask). ----- Original review Awesome pizza, great salads, and you can sit comfortably outside. Positive: Pinsa quattro formaggi Service and ambiance Negative: My pasta carbonara...very bland pasta, lacking seasoning. The processed Parmesan also had no flavor. Unfortunately, the only flavor that came from the well-cooked bacon was overpriced. €16 per dish for the pasta is too expensive, considering the taste.

The best carbonara I've ever eaten. I could only get a table outside. The restaurant was fully booked.

I was very disappointed. 6 out of 8 people at our table didn't get what they ordered. The menu called for fresh pasta in a special shape, but we got fusilli from a packet, which would have been okay if it hadn't tasted so bland. The waiter didn't show up again. He wanted a lot, but he couldn't deliver.

Nice little osteria with a variety of dishes. My pinsa was a bit bland, though. My wife's beetroot pasta, however, was very good.

The food was very good quality, but the only downside was the price of the salad: for a salad that costs €14, you'd expect more than just a small slice of goat cheese. Above all, the service was beyond subpar. From ordering our first drinks to paying. The wait for our first drink was 30 minutes, and that was probably only because we asked the waiter directly if we wanted to order. There was no question about whether we wanted any more drinks.

Had reserved a table, but this reservation was then lost. We were still allocated a table. It took almost 2 hours for the food to arrive. One had to throw up immediately after the first bite, all the others had stomach pains in the evening. Overall not good, we were hoping for more because the vibe was actually pretty cool.

We chose Cuatro Gatos for a birthday dinner. The food was very tasty and the service was great. Our waiter Maxime, who was very friendly and charming, was particularly attentive. We felt very comfortable and would love to go back again and again.

The pasta was average - the price was above average. The pasta was al dente, the filling could be expanded, and you could sense the Gorgonzola flavor in the sauce. The pinsa was also average - but the price wasn't quite as lavish. Unfortunately, the red house wine didn't reconcile me with the rest either. So the double was given at home as a precaution The ambience was fine. The service was rather unfriendly. When we, a larger group, laughed heartily, we were reprimanded by guests and the service.

Stopped by here spontaneously for lunch. We absolutely loved the food and service! Great selection of pasta and very good quality. The star deduction is solely because of the small amount of space the restaurant offers. But still an absolute recommendation! Will definitely stop by again!

We recently visited this place and were absolutely delighted! The cuisine here is simply excellent - every dish is prepared with love and attention to detail. The pasta was al dente and the sauces were rich and flavorful. Pizza is just a dream, it’s amazing that in the heart of Germany I was able to eat real Italian pizza. The staff also deserves special praise: friendly, welcoming and professional young waiters were always ready to help and recommend dishes. The spirit of life and youth is present here. The atmosphere of the restaurant creates an amazing mood - and makes the evening unforgettable. We will definitely return again to enjoy the excellent cuisine and warm welcome. We ordered three dishes. Lasagna which was subpar. Ravioli good. But the worst was the carbonara. They weren't creamy at all. When we told the attendant, he didn't even apologize. He just said he wasn't faking it and he can call the cook. Then he mentioned the possibility of free coffee. And still we sat with one empty plate and folded cutlery unnoticed. And the price vs quality absolutely not matching

Incredible! Avoid this place, you are just a money machine there, not a welcome guest!!! Just don't stay there for long, then it will be outrageous! It's already been described here several times. The sound makes the music. Something like this has NEVER happened to me: during the meal you are told - probably by the boss himself??? - that you have been there for far too long, that this is taking far too long and that the table is suddenly reserved! Mind you, without a reserved sign. And after 1/2 hour - I checked the time on Google - you can do anything these days. He suddenly claimed that we had been sitting here for two hours. And even if we did? It was a very hot day, after hours of touring Bamberg, we first had something to drink and after half an hour we ordered something to eat. While we started eating!!! we were barked at, really in such an impudent tone, you could put it another way. For example, if you would please move around, we would help you (and you would also get an espresso or a Prosecco on the house), I would definitely have understood. There were only tables for 4, so there wasn't much going on yet. Only later were additional tables and chairs set up. We had to move all of our equipment to another table ourselves during the meal because we were so perplexed by what was happening to us and how we were being treated. The other guests were already looking. A suddenly very unpleasant situation! So suddenly such a wonderful day was ruined for us! Unbelievable and NEVER there again!!! I won't put up with that anywhere else!

The flavors were very good, the service was fast. As pasta, TAGLIATELLE AL RAGÙ was very good. I liked it so much that I went the next day and tried the pizza. My choice was BUFALINA. Bamberg was a delicious stop on my trip

I recently visited this wonderful pizza restaurant and had an amazing experience. I tried both the pizza and pasta, and they both exceeded my expectations. The pizza crust was thin and crispy, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very pleasant, offering a cozy and comfortable setting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service quality was excellent. Nice service and delicious food

Ate there twice and the price/performance ratio doesn't match at all. Mediocre to bad pizza with cheap ingredients is sold here at an exorbitant price. Pizza Salsiccia had a handful of champions and a few pieces of tasteless salsiccia and all for 17€! Anyone who knows Salsiccia from Italy knows what it can taste like and will be disappointed! Experienced the same with the Pinsa. The price here does not match the product delivered and borders on being cheeky. Unfortunately, when we asked about the products used, the service was unable to provide any information.

I recommend it - but only if you like disrespectful behavior! Food is very good, price is okay for the location and quality. The service staff were also very accommodating - in contrast to their superiors. We had made a reservation the day before - for 4:30 p.m., with the information that there would be a closed party at 6 p.m., but we could easily eat before the event. No sooner said than done - at 4:40 p.m. the undeserving boss in question arrives and begins to discuss with his staff in a manner in which one searches in vain for decency - they should start setting up for HIS birthday party and should invite the guests (with reservations! !) thrown out. In order to lower the level a little, these demands towards the staff became louder and more intrusive - until, after resisting, they asked whether it would be a problem if we sat outside. How nice it is to have staff to whom you can delegate such tasks if you don't have the courage to do them yourself. When asked about his excellent behavior towards guests, the nice gentleman couldn't help himself, became abusive and complimented us with a polite “Sneak out”. The service staff were more than embarrassed by the whole situation and apologized several times for their boss's behavior. All in all, as the manager of this restaurant in a city like Bamberg where there is more than enough competition, I would think carefully about how I should behave towards guests and perhaps take some etiquette courses - courage and polite manners are taught here! Personally, I wouldn't wish any service worker to have a boss like that and would like to point out again that there is enough competition in Bamberg, which is certainly always looking for nice service employees ;)

The food was great and the staff were more than accommodating. The boss, however, made a fool of himself - threw us out of the restaurant, not with a polite request but in a disrespectful manner. Due to his hopefully sparsely attended birthday party, he threw us out of the restaurant about an hour before it started because the set-up was finally supposed to start - and that during the meal and despite a reservation!!! However, he didn't have the courage to tell us this himself, but rather asked his employees, who were visibly uncomfortable, to do so loudly in the middle of the restaurant: "Just throw them out!"... I feel sorry for all the nice waiters there who have to work for a boss like that - they definitely deserve better!

Food very good, but the way you are treated is more than disappointing! We had to watch as an older lady at the next table was repeatedly and increasingly rudely asked by the head of the Osteria to move to the bar table in the interior to eat so that the table for two could be occupied by two people. The lady was visibly uncomfortable and asked to stay outside in the nice weather. Then the boss actually started mimicking the lady and gossiping about her within earshot. It's a shame about the good food, the quality is very good, but we will no longer support disgusting your guests in the future.

Unfortunately very disappointing treatment of guests! We have been to this restaurant several times and have always been very impressed with the food. Unfortunately, after today's experience, the restaurant won't see us again! When we asked whether the buffalo mozzarella was pasteurized (which it isn't always) because otherwise I'm unfortunately not allowed to eat it and therefore need a reliable statement (otherwise I would of course have simply chosen something else from the menu), we were told answered in a shameless and extremely unfriendly manner: “You have to know for yourself what you can eat. Why are you confusing us with your question?” But that wasn't enough, people continued to talk to us in an unfriendly manner, so we left the restaurant. Dealing with intolerances like this is unacceptable for a restaurant! Regardless of the matter, the way we were spoken to was completely unprofessional and we didn't feel welcome! But how the owner deals with questions from guests is impressively evident from his answers to the reviews here. What a shame!

I spent a few days in Bamberg with my girlfriend and had dinner here in the evening. The small restaurant is decorated in a minimalist and modern way and is reminiscent of a small tavern in Italy. Our food and drinks tasted excellent: fresh and high-quality ingredients and components! :) The service was attentive, friendly and accommodating! I can only recommend this restaurant!

I had arranged to meet my friends there for dinner. The dining room is cozy, the service is friendly and quick. Everyone at the table really enjoyed the pizza. There was a bit of confusion when making the reservation, but everything worked out in the end. Always my pleasure!
