For me the best kebab in the area, a recommendation for everyone. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, you always feel welcome and in good hands. The meat is my favorite, which is why I usually get it separately. The kebab is always packed with meat and the side dishes and sauces are also of the best quality. I can 100% recommend this kebab shop to everyone who comes here!

Best kebab I know. Quality and price absolutely in harmony. Been coming for years and have never been disappointed. Update 10/2022: seems to be a new owner. Prices increased (I can live with that) Portions now significantly smaller. Seems to be different meat now too. Due to the poorer quality and smaller portions, it is no longer a good price-performance ratio. I won't go there anymore. Too bad. Update 11/2024: tried again. Tastes good. Still small, little salad and expensive. Too bad.

The taste of the kebab is okay. I found it much better a few years ago. The price is official, way too expensive.. For the price you get a children's kebab, the ingredients seem to have been counted out. Unfortunately, I think the business only survives because of the location and its good reputation at the time by being named the best/one of the best kebabs in Essen. The lahmacun tasted disgusting - but of course that can be a matter of taste. Location is good, there are plenty of seats. But I don't understand why so many employees are behind the counter. Addition: I ordered tavuk sis. I don't know what I expected. The seasoning of the meat skewer was quite good, but the skewers were fried in the pan and the consistency wasn't the best. Already on the chewy side. If you compare that with an ocakbasi, there is a world of difference (also in terms of quality). If you compare it in terms of price, where somewhere else you have two thin flatbreads with you and everything including vegetables comes from the charcoal grill.. The skewers were also on top of the fries, which were already mostly soaked like currywurst sauce. So Orkide has potential, but people just don't think about it? Certainly different in the restaurant. But if deliveries are offered, at least put some thought into the composition in the food bowl. Too bad. The overall experience just doesn't fit here.

My friend and I went for dinner and ordered a chicken kebab pocket and a large veal kebab pocket. I was disappointed with the chicken kebab. The meat was not on the kebab machine, but was prepared in the kitchen and served that way. It was said that the chicken kebab is freshly cut every morning, kept indoors and served when ordered. It didn't seem fresh to me, but I tried it anyway. Unfortunately the meat was completely burnt. The veal was also tough and tasteless. The “large” size was misleading; The bread was bigger, but there were hardly any more ingredients. The regular pocket bread was tasty, and the salad was fresh. The young man at the checkout was friendly and attentive to the customer. In total we paid around €20 without drinks, but we weren't really satisfied.

Food was ok. The vegetable kebab could be better seasoned - especially the vegetables. But people, EIGHT EURO for 5 small sarma (stuffed grape leaves), which you don't even make yourself, but come ready-made from a can from the supermarket, is already steep. More expensive than my kebab 🤦‍♂️

One of the best döner I've tried so far. Plates are huge, so better take one to share. It would be good even without any sauces, becouse meat is fresh and juicy. Great seasoning and lots of different veggies. What to want more? :)

First of all: definitely one of the best kebabs in Essen. The bread is great, the sauces are really tasty, the meat is well seasoned but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. I find the ratio of meat and salad in the kebab to be optimal. The staff has always been friendly to me so far. But I think 8€ for a kebab & 9€ for a Dürum is really too much. This cannot be justified with increased costs. 2 small kebabs including drinks €21. I think it would at least be appropriate to offer a menu price (e.g. kebab + drink) that would make the whole thing a little cheaper.

So sorry, paying 11 euros for a kebab with a can of cola is absolutely too much. Service borderline, not a nice atmosphere. Doner was ok so far - but not for the price!

During my visit to the Germany/Düsseldorf fair, we came to eat doner kebab in Essen upon recommendation. I can say that I have never experienced such attention and taste. The business has been doing this business for two generations. I can really recommend it not only for eating but also for tasting. It's a clean place.

We have eaten at Orkide several times and have always been happy with everything! Today we as a family ordered food for a buffet for a celebration! The service and offer were 1A! Very satisfied...the boss who organized the whole thing was super accommodating and did everything he promised! Price-performance ratio just as great!! Thanks to the whole team ♥️

Sorry, but I can't quite understand the consistently good reviews. The service is great and the guys are nice. But that's not what it's supposed to be about. The large kebab is really expensive at €11, but the size is okay. However, it's just sliced ​​flatbread. The kebab itself, it couldn't be more standard. Meat absolutely 0815 and the sauces bought from wholesalers like you can get on every corner. Sorry but you really can't give this more than 2 stars. If that's the standard in food, I really feel sorry for people.

Today, after a long time, I drove from Stolberg to my hometown in Essen and visited my good friend at Orkide and had a delicious meal there with my older son. It was very nice with you and we were warmly welcomed and greeted. The kebab was very tasty and we would love to come back to you!

We have lived in Rüttenscheid for 30 years and have enjoyed going to Orkide for many years. In our opinion, the quality and service have declined massively. It used to be a small team, everyone knew each other and had a nice chat. Today it's still friendly, but nothing personal anymore, just mass processing. That would still be manageable if the food hadn't become extremely more expensive but increasingly "loving". The meat is completely over-seasoned ready-made meat. The sauce that made this kebab stand out from the rest is now only mass-produced (there is now cocktail sauce!!! to choose from). It seems to me that it's all about commerce. It's a shame, the competition is unfortunately far too great and there is no longer any reason to choose Orkide over the other stores.

The taste of the chicken meat differs positively from the usual. Tomato and cucumber came in large, bite-sized slices. Yoghurt, spicy, tzatziki and cocktail sauces are available, but you only get tzatziki and spicy if you order “complete”. The price of €8 for a small kebab and €11 for a large kebab is debatable, but it is justified by the freshness of the ingredients. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they weren't particularly friendly either.

My last visit!!! My eyes almost popped out of my head. The price of a small kebab has almost doubled. From €4.30 to €7.00 for a kebab! ⚡️My wishes were not taken into account either. It's become very expensive now but that's the case everywhere, the problem is that when it's colder the shop seems very small because you can't eat outside, the food tastes good and is definitely the top 3 kebab in all of Essen.

Viel zu hohe Preise. Das steht bei der Qualität des Essens in keiner Relation.

Heute war ich das letzte Mal dort. Ein Dürüm für 9 EUR !!!! Wenn ich richtig gerechnet habe, und ich mich richtig erinnere, dass der Dürüm vor 4 Jahren noch 5,50 EUR kostete, dann wäre das eine Inflation von rund 13% in jedem der 4 Jahre. Und das stimmt nun wirklich nicht. Und soooooooo lecker und außergewöhnlich ist es dort auch wieder nicht. Schade. Wir sind viele Jahre dort hingegangen.

Ich war zufällig in der Nähe und hatte Hunger. Aufgrund der positiven Rezensionen habe ich den Laden aufgesucht. Ich habe einen Dürüm bestellt und wenig später einen erhalten. Geschmacklich gehört dieser zu den besten die ich jemals gegessen habe und zu meiner Belustigung wurde das Fleisch von der Gerät geschnitten. Salat und Soßen Auswahl mehr als reichlich. Einzig was mich stört ist der Preis von 8€ für einen Dürüm, daher nur 4Sterne.

Bestellung ging sehr schnell und war sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeiter sind auch alle sehr nett gewesen. Kann man gerne weiterempfehlen

Beste Döner ? Mit fertig Fleisch ? Wie soll das gehen. Es schmeckt nur etwas anderes als die anderen schlechten fertig Döner. Weniger gewürzt das war es aber auch. Ich verstehe die Bewertung hier nicht, es hat auch nichts zu tun „Geschmacksache“ ne fertig Industrie Döner ist das schlechteste was es gibt ! Punkt Ende aus.
