Oliver Börner Landgasthaus-Hotel Maien in Rheinfelden (Baden)

A wonderfully quiet country inn high above the Rhine Valley. We were there for a family celebration and spent two nights. Beautiful rooms and a delicious breakfast buffet with something for everyone. The dinner was also very, very delicious. We would love to come back again.

Delicious food... Reservations recommended, but parking spaces fill up quickly...

Very friendly staff. This is a rather older hotel, which is evident in the rooms. Carpeted floors, a small bathroom, and no air conditioning. The beds are very soft. Unfortunately, the balcony and the plastic chair were very dirty, and the ashtray was still full from the previous occupant. The soap in the bathroom was empty and the soap dispenser was also broken. The shower is very, very cramped! There's something for everyone at breakfast, but there isn't a huge selection. At just under €100 a night, it's a hefty price. Okay for a guest passing through, but probably not for a multi-night stay.

Everything from 2013/2014 is still correct, only now, like in 2013, I had dinner at the hotel again, and it was delicious again. 2014: On the way to the Maritime Alps, I was allowed to park my BMW next to the boss's again. Unfortunately, or fortunately, there was no dinner at the hotel in the evening (the kitchen is closed on Fridays), and I had to go to "Elke's" next door. The rest was just as good. 2013: Clean, large room. Comfortable bed. Delicious dinner, as well as a large breakfast buffet. A lovely hotel. I was also able to park my motorcycle in the owner's garage (next to his BMW :-) )

The room was a bit dated. The thermostat was yellowed, but otherwise it was okay. There was plenty of parking. The breakfast was good.

The food was good, with large portions and delicious fries. The lady serving outside was very friendly. What was absolutely unacceptable was the Aperol Spritz! €7.90 for a glass that was only a third full! The explanation was that they put more ice in the glass at the bar... that's not acceptable for me... and the ketchup was also rather sparse. Otherwise, a cozy garden and a nice atmosphere.

A very pleasant hotel if you're traveling and looking for a quiet place to relax after a long day at work. You'll receive a friendly welcome; I didn't experience any hectic activity, but the food was good, and the room also offered the desired comfort. The next morning began with a fantastic breakfast. All in all, highly recommended.

The food was ok, good quality but not really tasty. Charging almost 30 euros for a cordon bleu with a side salad is too expensive. Why you are then sat at a table where you are splashed wet by the fountain is incomprehensible. The original review was deleted because it was reported as libel. However, this is about freedom of expression and subjective perception. The incident with the fountain happened in front of witnesses, and the service was overwhelmed by the situation - the fountain couldn't be turned off and we weren't moved to another table. I'm deducting two stars for reporting it as defamation, and I'm no longer giving the previously fair three-star rating. Sorry, that's not possible and I'll take the recession online again and again.

I've been here a few times and it was very good. Over time the service became worse and worse. The service staff and finally the landlord became very rude. You felt unwanted. You could wait a long time before you could pay. This is not good customer service. The food was put on the table without comment, without wishing “a good one”. I do not recommend this inn. The last time we wanted a table inside. We couldn't choose it because apparently all the tables were reserved. The innkeeper wanted to let us sit at the regulars' table. No, not like that!!

My honest and non-discriminatory and factual review (with 3 stars) from 2018 was reported by the operator as defamation to Google in 2024. As a guest who previously enjoyed eating there 3-4 times every year, I feel absolutely not taken seriously in this situation! I would have liked to have been contacted personally by the operator. I would have gladly accepted an apology and thus had every reason to visit the inn again and gain new trust! Nevertheless, thank you for the many years in which I was entertained to my utmost satisfaction.

Small, outdated country hotel. Furnishings, carpets etc. from the 80s. Breakfast buffet with the usual suspects like everywhere else. The proximity to the Swiss border is clearly noticeable in the prices (menu). Unfortunately we couldn't test the dishes because the restaurant was closed on Christmas evening.

Ich bin jetzt wiederholt hier und fühle mich wie zu Hause. Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit . Das Essen ist eine Wucht . Ich liebe es hier zu essen. Alles sehr lecker und frisch gekocht.

Wir waren mehrfach zum Essen im Maien. Waren bisher immer sehr zufrieden mit der Qualität, Preis Leistung und Service. Wir haben sie noch bei uns die tollen Restaurants mit badischer Küche. 😉

Wir haben auf unserer 2ten Begehung der Westweg Ostroute erneut das Maien zum Etappenziel erkoren und waren erneut begeistert.

Nettes Personal, Zimmer etwas Old school aber sauber.Kann man machen.

Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber und gemütlich. Ein Bett ohne Holzumrandung ist besonders für Personen über 1.90 cm wünschenswert. Super nette Gastgeber bei denen man merkt, daß Ihnen das Wohl der Gäste sehr am Herzen liegt. Preis/Leistung toll. Wenn wir in Rheinfelden sind, dann immer dort.

Auf der Heimreise auf Empfehlung gegessen. Gut besuchter Landgasthof. Es gab ein großes Metzgete Buffet. Ich hatte nur Blut und Leberwurst zu einem sehr fairen Preis. WLAN vorhanden. Sehr netter Service. Komme wieder wenn ich mal in der Nähe bin.

Auf dem Weg in den Süden haben wir Übernachtet und am Abend gegessen. Bei der Ankunft haben wir einen Tisch reservieren lassen in der Hoffnung, als Hotelgäste ein schönen Tisch zu bekommen. Im Gegenteil: Der kleinste Tisch im hintersten teil des restaurants war für uns vorgesehen. Der Tisch war nicht eingedeckt. Nach der Bestellung geschah zunächst nichts. Auch der Verweis auf fehlender Besteck, Gläser usw. hatte keine Reaktion zur Folge. Kurz um: Wir haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet - die Servietten fehlten immer noch. Wir haben einen Nachtisch bestellt - wie unser Tischnachbar. Nach lange Wartezeit wurde serviert - der Nachbar wurde vergessen und vlerliess wütend das Lokal. Das Essen war gar nicht schlecht.

Restaurante Alemán acogedor con un ambiente fantástico y la comida buena. Mi pareja realmente disfruté de su comida vegetariana (que normalmente es una buena prueba de lo bueno que es el cocinero). Tenía una fantástica pieza de ternera con espárragos y salsa holandesa. Se supone que vienen con patatas duquesa, pero cambiado para patatas fritas (patatas fritas) para satisfacer mi necesidad de una comida sin gluten; esto fue hecho sin problema. Si estás en o cerca de Todtmoos, visita!

Wir waren eine grosse Gruppe und ich hatte am Anfang bedenken, ob das so gut klappt wenn wir a la carte bestellen. Das Essen kam jedoch nach kurzer Zeit und die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und hat einem jeden Wunsch von den Lippen gelesen. Ich hatte ein Wildgericht und konnte nicht klagen!

August 2016. Wir hatten einen kleinen Hunger. Das geräucherte Forellenfilet war sehr gut. Die Spaghetti Napoli verdienen eine gute Note. Die Bedienung ist ungenügend. Der deutsch und portugiesisch sprechende Mann hat keinen Anstand. Die Rechnung war EUR 27.50. Ich zahlte mit EUR 30 in Noten. Das Wechselgeld hat er mir in kleinen Münzen auf den Tisch geworfen...er hat natürlich erwartet, dass ich ihm das Wechselgeld überlasse und er nicht mühsam in seiner Geldbörse rumsuchen muss. Wo ist der Chef, der dies ungenügende Bedienung korrigiert?

Wir waren als Teil einer Gesellschaft hier. Und - es gab frische Pfifferlinge in Hülle und Fülle. Nach einer Cremesuppe, natürlich von Pfifferlingen, wurden Medallions serviert, mit viel Pfifferlingen drauf. Das Dessert war zwar ohne Pfifferlinge, mundete aber vorzüglich. Dazu gab es heimische Weine, es war natürlich auch Bier und weiteres zu erhalten. Der Restaurantservice war sehr aufmerksam, der Gesamteindruck hat uns sehr gefallen! Eine schöne Möglichkeit, gut und badisch essen zu gehen.

Super Lage direkt in Eichseln. Gemütlich eingerichtet und sehr schön. Für geschäftsessen sehr zu empfehlen da verschiedene Räumlichkeiten vorhanden.Lecker deutsche Küche und Saison Angebote wie Wild.Spargel usw. Im Winter sehr schön beleuchtet. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Man kann den Maien sehr gut empfehlen für jeder Art Feier. Eigener Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür.

Ein großes Restaurant mit Hotel, dass Gesellschaften verschiedener Größen bewirten kann. Wir haben dort ein Familienfest gefeiert. Das Essen war gut und sehr viel. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend gewesen. Wir haben einen sehr großzügigen Raum für eine kleine Gesellschaft gehabt, in dem genug Platz war, dass die Kinder auch spielen konnten. Im Außenbereich befindet sich ein Spielplatz.

Wir sind regelmässig Gäste in diesem tollen Gasthaus. Seit unserem ersten Besuch vor mehr als 5 Jahren wurden wir bei keinem unserer schönen Abende hinsichtlich Qualität von Service und Küche enttäuscht. Ein authentisches und sehr gut geführtes Gasthaus in Südbaden.

Wir waren über viele Jahre schon häufig privat und geschäftlich zu Gast im Maien und schätzten die dort gebotene badische Küche. Beim letzten Besuch jedoch bestellten wir ein Bier der Kleinbrauerei Mühlhaupt und stellten einen sehr merkwürdigen Geschmack fest. Als wir dies bemängelten, bekamen wir eine neue Flasche serviert ( diesmal wurde die Flasche an den Tisch gebracht ) - auch hie war das Haltbarkeitsdauer schon Monate abgelaufen !? Eine eher routiniert wirkende Entschuldigung folgte. Die beiden Biere wurden voll berechnet ! Das war unser letzter Besuch dort.

Schöner Biergarten vor einem renovierten Gasthaus. Innen sehr luftige Athmosphäre mit viel Gals und Holz im Neubau Die Speisekarte bietet keine Überraschungen, geschmacklich konnte man einige Fertigprodukte wiedererkennen, war aber soweit OK für den Preis. Die Mengen sind ordentlich und der Service sehr bemüht aber leider nicht immer professionell.

Wir habe im maien unsere hochzeit gefeiert...chef ist sehr flexibel unf geht wirklich suf alle wuensche ein.wir hatten mit 80 Personen ei e tolle Feier und ein tolles Menü. ...jederzeit wieder! !!!!

Karte nicht regional, Schnitzel u. Co, wenn ein Gericht aus ist, wird nicht dafür gesorgt, daß man es dann am nächsten Tag bestellen kann.
