In my opinion it's the best sushi I've eaten so far. Very nice Japanese atmosphere, very friendly service. Gladly again!!

Highly recommended! Very tasty dishes, a large selection of dishes! Lots of things in veggies. The service staff are very friendly, the food comes very quickly and is beautifully prepared! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean!

Never again! Now we have already made a reservation and still have to wait half an hour for our table! Then why do we make reservations at all?!?!? The food was bomb but waiting 1.5 hours for it is simply unacceptable. Never again! Baba, I swear never again! Greetings to the putters...

On February 3rd, 2025 we were here for a business dinner. The restaurant caught our attention because of all the good reviews and also aroused our curiosity with its style. We weren't disappointed. Even the entrance area is reminiscent of Japan. The entrance door has to be pushed open to the side and as soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly and offered a seat. The atmosphere is really chic. Lanterns, characters and flowers everywhere. Very nice. We tried the little things. Starting with a Cozy Cari soup with wild-caught prawns (27) and fresh prawn rolls in rice paper (6). Both very tasty. 😋 Followed by steamed shrimp dim sum (18) and spicy tuna sushi (145). Guys, the presentation of the sushi with a small vase in which dry ice came into contact with water and then triggered a small volcano of smoke - awesome! And it tasted really good too. 👍 The service always has an eye for the guest and is totally friendly and on the ball. Great. 👏🏻 If you're looking for an unusual ambience with excellent food and friendly service, this is the place for you. Please keep it up. Thumbs up for that and thank you. 👍

Recommended, good selection of Asian (Japanese) dishes

The food is always very tasty and fresh, and the prices are unbeatable for the quality you get. Really highly recommended, both to take away and to eat there! There's even 10% on top if you take it with you. Even when there is a lot going on, the service is on point and always very friendly.

I was there for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. The ambience is magical, lovingly decorated down to the smallest detail. The staff are super nice and accommodating (even though it was really busy yesterday, I didn't get the impression that they were stressed). The selection of food is large and incredibly tasty. The eye also enjoys this very well. I think the prices are really good, especially given the great taste. I paid just under 23 euros for a main course, a non-alcoholic drink and an alcoholic cocktail. We hadn't made a reservation and just managed to get a place for the two of us (Friday evening). I would recommend making a reservation.

Have been here again for years. Delicious authentic it's food with a great atmosphere. Far away from the generic Asian/Chinese snack bar.

Excellent food, super friendly service and nice ambience

Overall, the food and drinks were very tasty. The service was also very good and friendly. Unfortunately there is only soy sauce at the table and no hot sauce/chilli sauce. We ordered this separately and was charged €2. For an Asian restaurant, weak and not exactly customer friendly.

ordered to-go, the wait time was only 10 minutes, although the place was jammed. many visitors and to-go orders. stuff is nice and friendly. What I didn’t like is that you have to pay cash if the order is under 20€. Smells fishy :)

Very nice selection of food and drinks. Delicious beer from Greif from Forchheim and the wine is also good. Regardless of whether you want to eat sushi or other Asian dishes, both taste very good. I've had Pho Bo and also Undo here when I didn't feel like sushi. The service is nice and mostly attentive. When there is a lot going on, you sometimes have to wait a while for service, but everything is still within limits. I really enjoy going here because you can only decide once you're there whether you like sushi or not. Also a really nice and cozy atmosphere. It's best to make a reservation on the weekend!

Really delicious food. Two stars deducted from the service because card payment doesn't seem to be welcome. At least you are informed about cash payment with every order. This is really out of date and sometimes annoying.

I order there very often. And have also eaten there one or two times. Delicious. However, I would like you to move to Neunkirchen am Brand. So I don't always have to drive so far!

Unfortunately, double table reservations in the evening do not allow for a cozy evening with friends. You have to constantly look at the clock to see what time it is. In the evening, a business idea like this is a no-go. Therefore, there are no longer any reservations and you go wherever a cozy evening is possible.

Nice place and delicious sushi. But be careful when ordering. The waitress didn't hear me and brought me 106 instead of 160. The sushi was good, but I was expecting shrimp not spicy tuna. The waitress was nice but not very responsive to my surprise about the wrong order. My mood was a little bit spoiled. Also the miso soup was too salty.

Super friendly staff. Food was very tasty (rice in terjaki sauce with fried vegetables). The sushi from the neighboring tables also looked very good and was beautifully presented. Everything really good!

There is nothing to criticize here. I got my water in 4 seconds and my starter in 2 minutes. World record lol! I can recommend both the sushi and the Vietnamese main courses. Very nicely decorated

An experience for the youngest who is an absolute sushi fan. Super nice and courteous service, very good food. It's just a shame that the repeated reference to the time slot of 2 hours max was a shame. We understood that the first time. But also understandable, because the place was packed and the ladies had their hands full. Lots of walk-in customers too. But it was very tasty and appealing.

We had dinner here with my partner's family in the evening. The ambience is really nicely done. The service was also very nice. We were 6 people in total. The drinks and appetizers came quite quickly. Unfortunately, these were definitely frozen and some of them were also cold. My partner and I chose a sushi platter for two people. This was really beautifully presented and there was also plenty of sushi. These were very good. The drinks were good too. I had a summer ice tea. If the starters hadn't been frozen, I would clearly recommend Okonomi.

4/5 because it's partially possible to sit outside when it's raining. The food was bomb, but after the main course we had to wait forever for service. Maybe we would have ordered something else, but in the end we decided to pay the bill. My husband had to go in to get the waiter. The waitress then came to cash after about 5 minutes. We'll come again, the food is just too good :)

We sat inside. The furnishings are extremely lovingly designed and create a pleasant atmosphere in which you quickly feel at home. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is attentive, polite and friendly, remaining discreetly in the background and not intrusive. Overall a very pleasant experience. I was pleasantly surprised by such an excellent service, as I was neither used to nor would have expected something like that in Germany.

The menu is not clearly marked with the allergens for each dish, but only summarized in the categories. If you ask, you won't get a meaningful answer because the question wasn't even understood due to your lack of knowledge of German. If there is an intolerance or allergy, I would give this place a wide berth. In addition, the quality of the food has declined significantly.

Dog-friendly restaurant (dogs get a free water bowl). We arrived on Friday at 8:15 p.m., despite the high number of people, we got our reserved table after a few minutes. Food came immediately after 10 minutes and tasted really excellent! Nothing is left to be desired here, everything is tip top and very well organized! I recommend making a reservation because the shop is very popular and we would have had to wait without a reservation.

Okonomi is hands down the best sushi restaurant I have ever visited. From the moment I walked in I was impressed by the elegant yet cozy atmosphere. The attention to detail is remarkable - from the stylish decor to the artful presentation of each dish. The service was exceptional. Not only was our server friendly and attentive, but he was also extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make excellent recommendations. But the absolute highlight was of course the food. Each piece of sushi was a masterpiece in itself. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were second to none. The rice was perfectly cooked and the fish selection was varied and of the highest quality. I was particularly impressed by the creativity of the rolls, which combined traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative twists. The price-performance ratio is more than fair given the exceptional quality. A visit to Okonomi is more than just a meal, it is an unforgettable dining experience that I highly recommend to any sushi lover. I can't wait to come back!

Okonomi is truly a fantastic restaurant! The team is super nice and always very accommodating. The food is incredibly tasty and always freshly prepared. I haven't had any problems there yet. I recently had an order where there was a tiny problem (for the first time), which was quickly solved immediately by the super helpful team. As an “apology” we even got something extra on top of our order. I am really very satisfied and will definitely come back again and again. Many thanks to the entire Okonomi team for the great service!

I had sashimi and hadn't eaten something so fresh and delicious for a long time and it melted and sushi, also very tasty. My husband had duck which was very soft and tasty. Delicious food, staff and organization mediocre We were very disappointed on our last visit. We actually go there often and order very often. However, the staff is very different! We reserved a table and when we made the reservation it wasn't mentioned in a word that we could stay for a maximum of 1.5 hours. Basically, I would understand it if it was pointed out BEFORE. Then we would have made reservations somewhere else for this special evening. We were then very rudely asked to leave even though drinks had been brought 10 minutes before, some of which were then left standing. Impossible! This is how you scare away regular guests 🤷🏻‍♀️

Okonomi is by far the best shop in Forchheim when it comes to Asian cuisine. Very clean and fresh food is served, I can only recommend it.

Food was good. The sushi in particular tasted very fresh. Our wakame salad came without wakame, but when we pinpointed it, we got a separate portion of it. The decoration is nice but the sound absorption has to improve. in the smaller room on the right it can get pretty loud and it's difficult to hear your own party.

Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, the feeling was that you should eat and leave as quickly as possible. Apparently the table was still needed. The next room isn't very comfortable and is also cold; we weren't the only ones sitting at the table wearing our coats. Sushi maximally OK, main course with teriyaki sauce, not edible because extremely sweet. So we decided not to order more. Unfortunately, at the end, no one asked whether it was tasty or wished them a nice evening.

Unfortunately, it can no longer be fully recommended. Sometimes complete overwhelm until the system collapses. Orders are now usually no longer processed within the specified time. As a take-away guest, you often end up standing around in the dining room for a relatively long time despite the times being adhered to - together with other people waiting. The processing of those waiting has been slow very often lately. This also disrupts the ambience when you eat in the restaurant as a guest - who wants to eat their food between a number of people waiting to pick up their food. Despite the impending collapse of the system, take-away orders with short pick-up times are still being accepted. As a result, the disaster sometimes lasts the entire evening. Meanwhile, the highest possible throughput seems to be more important than quality. The food often seems more carelessly prepared than in the early days. Card payments are now categorically rejected and only accepted with enormous emphasis. All in all, you have the feeling that you just have to make as much profit as possible, both as a guest on site and as a person collecting the goods. This may be acceptable for regular guests for a while in order to get the usual taste, but I would advise new guests against Okonomi. Unfortunately, the golden years are over here.
