Oishi Sushi & Grill in Darmstadt

Ever since the management changed here I find it just awful! I was there once on Valentine's Day and everyone got chocolate at the end. We didn't. When we asked if we could have some too, a box of chocolate was thrown on our table in a VERY rude manner and we looked after it stupidly. I thought I'd give it another chance. Unfortunately they messed it up again. All you can eat and from the menu cannot be eaten together at the same table because the people eating the menu can help themselves to the all you can eat. I've never experienced anything like it before but it's a great way to scare customers away!! WANG's Kitchen at Darmstadt main station is much more open and tastier here.

The food was absolutely average. The service was OK. The location was a matter of taste, but the station hall was far too plush for me.

The food is good and the buffet is also worth it if you dig in. That's why we were happy to come back. Based on my recommendation, we wanted to celebrate a birthday this time with a group of 7 people. But when two of us wanted to order individual dishes while the rest wanted to eat buffet, it was only after the orders had been taken that we were told that that wasn't possible and that the two people should sit at a different table or order the buffet like the others. I have never experienced such impudence! We are now at Khan and have no problems with our buffet/dish combo. It's a shame that our first good impression was so ruined.

Update: After the change of ownership, unfortunately only mediocre. We're not coming anymore. - Very good and delicious food! We'll definitely be back :)

I can only recommend making a reservation in advance. Even if you have done this, you may have to wait at peak times. Price-performance ratio is right and the kitchen and staff are well organized.

I really like the local cuisine and the attitude of the staff towards you. I am glad that there are people who can communicate in my language. The service is also top notch and I really like the tablet system. However, it can be very loud when there are many people.

I think it's great to order food with the tablets, there are no misunderstandings, there are little pictures. It tasted delicious and the waitresses cleared it away very quickly. I can only recommend it!

Maki sushi was okay and the fried sushi wasn't good, at least for us. In general, the fried things tasted like old fried oil. Salads like kimshi or wakame were also okay.

Always a pleasure but it's best to make a reservation on the weekend or come early enough :)

The food is very good. There is a lot of space. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. I can only recommend coming here and having a good meal.

The food was delicious and was served quickly. We had the all-you-can-eat and were there on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was very cutely decorated with balloons and roses, which created a nice atmosphere. The service was friendly and at the end there was a small gift with chocolate, a balloon and a rose. Overall, a very nice evening - can definitely be recommended.

Even though it was full and there was a queue, we didn't wait long. The staff is super fast and polite. Very professional. The food is always great!

A feast of rice and fish so fine, I always come back here. The sushi is fresh, a dream, a treasure, pure shine on every plate. The salmon so tender, the roll round, a masterpiece on my mouth. The rice is perfect, the seasoning is mild, a work of art that satisfies the longing. The service is smiling, quick and kind, Here you immediately feel neat. A place everyone has to love – my sushi temple, pure enjoyment!

If you're going for the "all you can eat," just DON'T It is basically just rice. It has so little fish that it is totally unworthy. The only good dish i could say it is ok was the mushrooms (not even the ice cream was good) To not say that was totally bad, the service was ok and the toilet was clean I really don't understand how the place keeps full because it was the worst sushi I ate in my life. Wasted my time and money there.

Not recommended at all. The somewhat corpulent man is very unfriendly! I would avoid this restaurant, I've heard a lot of bad things, but wanted to have our own experience. Should have listened to our friends. Now we're all in bed with stomach problems. But according to the reviews, food poisoning is probably inevitable... What a shame.

I've always been very happy with everything so far. There are definitely restaurants with better sushi or other dishes but probably also more expensive. With all you can eat you get a tablet from which you can choose your food. You have 2 hours and can order up to 10 times, 5 dishes per person. Sushi arrives within a few minutes, hot dishes take a little longer.

Asian buffet with ordering from the table on a tray...very practical and tasty too

Oishii Darmstadt is an impressive restaurant! The ingredients are extremely fresh, especially the sushi and sashimi, which are prepared with great attention to detail. Whether classic salmon sushi or creative rolls – everything is delicious and high quality. The service is professional, the employees are friendly and warm, which makes the stay particularly pleasant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and inviting, perfect for a date, a meeting with friends or a family dinner. I'll definitely be back!

No recommendation. Hot dishes were quite often lukewarm. Sushi not great either. The best were the battered chicken, seaweed salad and baked banana. Drinks weren't expensive (<5 euros). Otherwise, it was good that the empty plates didn't pile up on the table, as they were cleared away quite quickly. Sometimes, however, a little too quickly while there were still leftovers on the plate.

The Oishii is a typical "Asian palace", offering freshly prepared grilled food, sushi and the usual selection from across the Asian continent. You can order a la carte or an all you can eat option. Ordering is done via a tablet and everything is delivered to the table very quickly - although the service is more mass-produced than individual. The food is good but not outstanding. Priced in the middle range.

!!!Warning!!! Last Saturday there were four of us there. Despite our reservation, we had to wait a long time on site, about 30 minutes, to get a free table.... ultimately we all got severe food poisoning... so I can only advise everyone not to visit the restaurant again.... .

We have always enjoyed going to Oishii and it has become our regular restaurant. But I've never given a review before, so I'd like to do so today. With all you can eat, no wish is left unfulfilled, the selection of delicious food is excellent, ordering via tablet is easy and makes perfect sense given the number of tables. Otherwise I can't complain. Still deducted 1 star because I just don't find the plastic dishes, especially where my favorite soup is in them, appealing, there are certainly practical reasons for that. Oh... and stop using the Christmas lights in disco mode.

Like a few others, we were there on Saturday January 11, 2025, where we had to wait 35 minutes for a table despite having a reservation. We have been there several times and have always been very satisfied. However, I woke up in the night from Sunday to Monday with severe stomach pain and the urge to vomit. I vomited all night and had diarrhea, which is something I've had before with food poisoning. On Monday morning a colleague and his girlfriend wrote to me when we were out to dinner saying that they had the same symptoms at the same time. My girlfriend got it on Monday. So 4 out of 4 people with the same symptoms and now the review from 2 days ago with the same ones can't be a coincidence. A reason for us never to enter the store again.

This time there was severe food poisoning with the all you can eat included. Of the four people we were there with, all of them struggled with severe diarrhea, vomiting and crib symptoms as a result of the visit. In addition, despite making a reservation, we had to wait about 35 minutes for a table. Conclusion: Never again!!!!!!

After eating here with friends over the weekend, 3 out of 4 had food poisoning. The teriyaki chicken was still pink after 8 skewers! Apart from the fact that the all you can eat doesn't even include basic drinks (water etc.)... even though the empty plates were brought out quickly, it really felt like a mass process. The only notable thing is that four of us will have gotten a table quickly, despite it being lunchtime.

Thanks for the severe food poisoning. The food is not the best because the restaurant focuses on quantity and speed when it comes to food and not on taste and quality. The service is good in this store but 3 out of 4 people I was there with had food poisoning afterwards and that's a NO GO! I can therefore only advise against it. If you do want to go there, stay away from the meat dishes

Food is generally okay. The quality gets worse and worse every time. Shortly after our last visit we also had severe stomach pains and had to vomit. The fish didn't really taste fresh either. In addition, the store is overwhelmed with reservations and you have to stand in the aisle for 20 minutes despite having a reservation. Unfortunately disappointing.

After we ate there we vomited all night long! We had food poisoning 😡

The restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The most important thing: The food was really delicious and looked very appetizing. Unfortunately, some dishes were only brought lukewarm. But everything was very freshly prepared. We ordered with the tablet and were able to order several dishes in several rounds. Theoretically, up to 10 rounds would be possible in 2 hours, but we only managed 3 rounds plus a dessert. The portions seem small at first, but you fill up very well and have the opportunity to try a lot of things. We really liked that. After we said that we were there for the first time, everything was explained to us calmly and very nicely. Until then, all great! What we didn't really like was that the dishes we ordered were put down very quickly as we walked past and we sometimes had no idea what it was and which of us ordered it. Sometimes the pictures did not correspond at all to the food delivered 😂 And it was very, very full, even though we had booked a table, we had to wait a good 15 minutes before we were even greeted. I'm happy that the store is doing well, it also speaks for the quality, but it was very crowded, loud, cramped and hectic there. The ambience for eating suffers a little. We'll still come back again, maybe at lunchtime during the week.

I was absolutely thrilled! The concept of ordering dishes via a tablet is simply brilliant. This made operation incredibly quick and uncomplicated. You could browse through the extensive menu at your leisure and your order was always brought to the table fresh and quickly. The quality of the sushi was outstanding – fresh fish, perfectly cooked rice and an impressive selection of creative rolls. I particularly liked that you could also order warm dishes and desserts that were just as delicious as the sushi itself. The modern and comfortable ambience completed the experience, and the staff were friendly and attentive, although the tablet system minimized face-to-face contact. A perfect place for sushi lovers who like to enjoy at their own pace and sample a huge selection. I'll definitely be back!

All you can eat is promised here. This is a blatant lie and rip off. Orders are limited to 10 minutes and you can order a maximum of 10 times. Have you ever seen All You Can Eat where you are only allowed to go to the buffet every 10 minutes? This rip-off has nothing to do with the former good Wus Kitchen

Food for lunch buffet is generally worth a try but not the ones I want to do it twice. You could arrive a little bit earlier to get as more rounds as possible since they close around 14:30. One of the staffs is quite unfriendly even rude! Others are nice.

It was a very nice evening and very good food, it took a while to get the drinks but everything else was great.

Word of mouth told us that the store was good. Unfortunately we had different experiences... Yes, the food was okay, even if it took a relatively long time for something to arrive. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and you felt comfortable. But now come the disadvantages: There were six of us and we all ordered sushi. Two plates were carelessly placed on the table. We first had to find out who had ordered what... Basically everything we ordered twice was simply slapped on one plate. We only received the drinks after we asked again. But then came the best part… clam shells in the salmon… At least there was an apology. It was then said that drinks would be free. But let's be honest, that shouldn't have happened in the first place. There was chaos again when it came to the bill. Suddenly the promised “all drinks from the table are on the house” to only those who had the bowl in their food got it on the house. Then drinks were booked that we didn't get or didn't order. We didn't feel like talking anymore but said that we wanted to pay with cards. And then came no please cash. We looked at the waitress and the card reader in her hand and were visibly confused. She then quickly backtracked and said that if there was no other option, payment by card would also be possible. I would say leave quickly and never go back.

The selection was very poor, the food itself was good, but unfortunately the grilled chicken wasn't quite cooked through.

The All You Can Eat Buffet is the most sensible thing to choose because it allows you to get the best out of it. The food is always fresh and is prepared freshly after ordering. Even if it was very busy, they tried very hard to bring the food quickly and if it took longer we were informed about it. A very clear recommendation in all areas.

Just wow! So far we haven't had such a good experience with all you can eat options in DA and the surrounding area, but we were very surprised at Wu's Kitchen. You get a very warm welcome there. Our son (7) even had his jacket taken off, which we found very sweet, as if it were grandma. TOP. Ordering via tablet was very easy to understand. The food was very tasty and everything was prepared very quickly. We were there on December 31st, 2018 with 9 people and it was quite busy. The atmosphere is very nice and pleasant and the price is right. There are more than enough parking spaces in front of the door, just don't forget your parking disc. We will definitely go back. The restaurant is really not recommended! The staff and the restaurant management try to rip off or cheat the customers in the truest sense of the word. Our children had ordered more than they could eat afterwards (at an "all you can eat" fixed price). We should then pay 50% of the individual prices of the uneaten food in addition to the all you can eat prices (price per person). After I then said that I would force the children's food in and did so, it was assumed that we had disposed of the food in the toilet and/or 'hidden' it in the backpack we had brought with us (contained books and toys as well as changing clothes for the children). . And it was further demanded that we pay for these meals additionally. *This is an absolute disgrace!* We will never go here again! ...even though we were guests here often in the past.

Not much to say. We have been going here as a group 4 times a year for about 4 years. The all you can eat is to order, not from the buffet. This means that the popular things aren't always empty and the less popular things don't sit on the warming plate forever. Of course, it does take a little longer until you get your food, but you rarely have to wait really long. Since switching to Oishii, every guest no longer has their own number, which makes it harder to determine who gets what and orders end up on mixed plates. But otherwise everything is great as usual

Food was above average, we've had worse. Service is very good, all employees were very friendly. The restaurant was nicely decorated with matching decorations and comfortable chairs.

Great restaurant! Clean and very cozy! The ladies who bring the food could show a little more enthusiasm, but the lady who brings us to the table is super, super friendly! The food is all freshly prepared, although the portions are small, there are several courses. We are always super full and have never managed dessert. Highly recommended 👍👍

How unmotivated can staff be? Menno... the food was halfway ok. All you can eat is not a la carte. But putting the food down without saying anything and not responding to questions is great!! Nope, there won't be a second time here for me.

The price-performance ratio is no longer right. Just under EUR 30 per person is too much unless you are a very hungry man. The food is ok, but not outstanding either. The ambience is very loud. There was a terrible smell near the toilets. For us it was the last visit here.

Very good All You Can Eat, within 2 hours you can create a feeling of fullness that is second to none. What particularly appealed to me was the toilet; an indescribably soothing Asian-sounding melody was playing, which turned out to be Dr. Arnd Stein turned out to be a true classic like Mozart. I named the toilet “Oasis of Calm” because of the enthusiasm. I was particularly delighted with the “Lava Orange”, it was very tropical, fresh and crispy, I ordered 15 pieces straight away. Gladly again.

A large restaurant with lots of waitresses. There were a lot of people eating here today so it was very loud. But we were always served very quickly and it was always cleared away quickly. All in all, a very tasty meal that they offer.

The food tastes good and the service was present and always responsive. The selection is large and varied. If you like it a little quieter, I recommend coming at less busy times. Dessert is recommended (lava organs and baked ice cream)

This was our third time at Oishi's for all you can eat lunch. While everything worked great at lunchtime during the week when there wasn't so much going on, on Saturday lunchtime it was complete chaos. Our food was consistently cold. It took forever for the food to arrive. I had to wait up to 45 minutes for my sushi and even then half of it was missing. We were very disappointed and will definitely not eat here again. It's a shame, because the quality of the sushi itself is really solid. But with an all you can eat I don't want to wait 30-45 minutes for the next round.

Absolutely below average food. The sushi in particular was really bad. The sushi from the supermarket around the corner tastes better We had to wait over 50 minutes for the last order and then still nothing came. Under no circumstances should you be blinded by the positive reviews. They have a scam where you get a surprise gift (it was a limo) if you leave a positive review.
