O'FRA PIZZABAR in Aachen

O’fra has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Aachen. That's why we decided to have our family lunch there after our civil wedding ceremony. The arrangements beforehand were incredibly easy, and everything was perfect: fantastic food, a very attentive service team, great drinks, and a really lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended – both for relaxed dinners and for special occasions or events. Until next time! ☺️

Amazing pizza, good authentic service.

Reservations only online and not by phone? That's a deal-breaker for me! My family raved about their food, but under these circumstances, I'll hold off on visiting for now.

We spontaneously decided to eat here today without having known the restaurant before. The chef took the time to recommend something to suit our tastes, and what can I say? It was a culinary delight! We'll be back! ☺️

Despite its modest-sounding name - O'fra Pizzabar serves the most sublime pizzas you will ever have the good fortune to enjoy outside Italy. Our first few bites already had us planning our next visit - the crust alone made our hearts jump for joy. There is a glorious array of hot and cold antipasti, all made à la minute from the freshest ingredients. The same quality and attention to detail are applied to their fabulous range of cocktails. And whatever you do, leave room for dessert, because their tiramisu and chocolate mousse will make you reevaluate all others you thought were good before. O'fra service is warm and excellent and their prices very fair. In warmer weather, there's a lovely terrace with beautifully-tended plants and window boxes. On-street parking on the tree-lined street is easy. We love this place and the O'fra team so much we've become regulars, and we don't even live in Germany.

This is among the best pizza I've ever eaten. And it's not just the exceptional pizzas, but also the appetizers, aperitifs, and so on... Simply superb!

We had dinner at O'Fra and were thoroughly impressed! The pizza was perfect and the appetizers were also delicious. The service was friendly and attentive; we'll definitely be back next time we're in Aachen.

Delicious food and very good service

This pizzeria is simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious – fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared, and absolutely flavorful. I especially want to commend the young man with the center parting in the kitchen – he was so friendly and approachable, and you could tell he was passionate about his job. A truly excellent server and a great team overall. I'll definitely be back! 🍕

The pizza was pretty good. But we waited like 45 minutes for 2 pizza. The salad for the 3rd person was served separately and half an hour sooner than pizzas! But everything else was okay.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the pizza and all the other dishes! Every flavor combination is harmonious and goes far beyond average, solid cooking. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The food can't be praised enough, but unfortunately, I do have two criticisms. The seating is very cramped, both inside and out – and I say that as a rather short person. It can be difficult to have a conversation when you can hear the next table just as clearly as the person sitting across from you. Furthermore, on both of my visits to the restaurant, the staff were very quick to take our orders. However, the menu is quite extensive and includes some unfamiliar ingredients. It can take a little longer to decide (especially since there's no online menu to browse beforehand). All in all, O'Fra is a restaurant with incredibly good food and friendly staff, and I would gladly visit much more often if the experience were a bit more relaxed.

Due to its walking distance from Aachen train station, I had the opportunity to dine at this exceptional pizza bar twice on a weekend in July 2025. I ordered the Virgin Bellini both times, it was so excellent. For dinner, I had the Caesar's Salad with a fantastic dressing, where you could really taste the anchovies. The next day, I had a Pizza Rocco, and this is where the wheat is separated from the chaff. You can certainly get a decent pizza elsewhere in the city, but such a fine balance of ingredients, which don't just end up raw on the pizza, is rare, even in my hometown of Berlin. The pizza is Roman-style, meaning it doesn't have a huge crust and a slightly soggy base, as is customary with Neapolitan pizza. The cocktail and food menu still offer plenty of interesting choices; I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Creative, delicious and high-quality pizzas

In my opinion, this is the best pizza in Aachen if you want a classic, crispy thin pizza! Apart from Napoli 72H, this is the only place I would recommend for good pizza without hesitation. The staff was also super friendly. Prices reflect the quality. It costs about twice as much as many "add your own 3 toppings" pizzas, but it's easily twice as delicious! I'll be back!

The burrata salad is recommended. The panna cotta tastes a bit unusual, primarily of yogurt and granola. Unfortunately, it's difficult in the summer without air conditioning... it's very hot inside. Otherwise, it's quite nice.

Wir waren zu viert an einem Samstag Abend dort. Mein Mann und ich kannten die Lokalität noch nicht. Es gibt wenige Tische draußen und innen im unspektakulären Gastraum sind rund 20-25 Plätze. Das Lokal, eine Pizzeria, war gut besucht. Die Cocktail Karte ist mega kreativ und die Speisekarte ist fantastisch! So viele aussergewöhnliche Pizzakreationen habe ich noch nie gesehen. Die Vorspeisenplatte für vier Personen (36,90€) war fantastisch! Wir hatten die Pizza SANTA TERESA mit: Tomatensauce, Fior di latte, geräucherte Provola, Ventricina, Nduja, Rucola, süßsauer eingelegte rote Zwiebeln, Lakritz Die zweite weiße Pizza war mit Trüffelöl und Ziegenkäse und ebenfalls vorzüglich! Das Tiramesu war lecker! Der Service war auch top! Fazit: lohnt! Preisniveau: Mittel!

After 1 year update: Doesnt matter if you order or eat at the restaurant, the quality is still great! They know how to keep the quality! Love the pizza <3 Great atmosphere and even greater pizza. Very tasty pizza. I wasn't familiar with the place, and the shop was the closest. I walked over, got a seat, and had a delicious pizza with friendly service.

A very disappointing experience. I waited 45 minutes with my hungry 4-year-old daughter for a takeaway pizza. Other customers received free bread and side dishes – we didn't. Only when I asked for it myself did we receive some bread, which was then charged €3.90. I find it absolutely unacceptable to refuse bread to a small, politely requesting four-year-old and then even charge for it later. The service was also extremely slow and indifferent. Never again.

The conditions were super friendly and attentive, the waiting times weren't long, and the food was simply delicious. Clear recommendation!

Really a really great restaurant! o'fra in Aachen completely convinced us. Super nice, modern and yet cozy interior ✨ The team is young, relaxed, friendly and simply pleasantly calm - really likeable! The menu is surprisingly varied and yet absolutely authentic - no frills, just really good Italian cuisine with attention to detail 🇮🇹 We had aperitivo, a starter platter, white wine, three pizzas, desert and espresso - everything was really tasty! 🍕🥂 The service was top: attentive, warm, not intrusive - and the wine was always refilled as a matter of course 🍷 This is how I imagine a perfect evening at an Italian restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

We come here regularly - it's simply our absolute favorite restaurant. The pizzas are great, even the vegan versions! The menu changes seasonally, everything is homemade and prepared with a lot of love. The starters in particular are always a highlight - we often share a pizza and order a few starters because everything is delicious. The drinks are also great – whether with or without alcohol – and the service is warm, attentive and pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately feel comfortable without anything seeming artificial. Overall, a completely coherent concept, great atmosphere and a really nice evening every time. Absolute recommendation!

Everything perfect. The best pizza I've eaten in a long time! Great restaurant and very friendly staff!

+ large selection of very tasty, non-alcoholic aperitifs + Starter with burrata was very tasty and unusual - very loud and bright in the restaurant - we had to wait almost 45 minutes for three pizzas - the red pizza with grilled vegetables (plus extra Fior the latte) was unseasoned and therefore tasted of nothing. Unfortunately, the sauce made the dough very soft and mushy - Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all

Higher price range, but no wonder given the ingredients. From the can nothing comes here. You get fresh mushrooms, Parma ham, very tasty olives and artichokes on the pizza. It can then cost 20 euros. Wafer-thin base, well baked. The three types of bruschetta are also highly recommended.

Unfortunately, a very unfriendly young waitress who consistently refuses any kind of special requests. A salad with tuna is too much work for the kitchen... Too bad, never again!

The pizza itself tastes good and delivery was quick via Wolt. Everything was great and it could have been a great pizza evening with red wine but unfortunately the salami was absolutely inedible (extremely strong smell and taste of pork). The pizza now ends up in the trash. Although I eat salami pizza regularly and really appreciate it, I have never experienced anything like it. I've been here several times now and have been thrilled every time. A large selection of really delicious pizzas. High-quality covering and also unusual things, such as: B. Liquorice! The service was always good. Whether inside in winter or outside in summer - the ambience is great. The selection of drinks is also appropriate: from good vermouth to cocktails. You should make a reservation on the weekend. ;-)

I really liked the store's decor. The pizza was also delicious. However, in my opinion the price-performance ratio was not balanced. The very nice employee also did a great job. Nevertheless, I had the feeling that it was designed to get as much out of the guests as possible. I found that a bit of a shame. I'll probably try again at some point. :-)

We had 3 pizzas, all of them very tasty!

First of all: we were really looking forward to the evening and heard a lot of good things about O Fra. After our experience, we won't go there again. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't enough for us. For such prices we expect more culinary delights. Last week we were at O ​​Fra with a small group. Even though we had reserved a table, we still had to wait 10 minutes until it was free and another 10 minutes until the waitress cleared it and wiped it down. It took a total of half an hour until we had the menus. The menu is quite confusing, only described on one side, the cover is tattered and difficult to leaf through. The prices are sometimes incomprehensible: Margherita €10, mushrooms and parsley €17. Very disproportionate. Drink selection and prices are fine, the house wine was good. We had, among other things, a pizza with buffalo mozzarella and confit tomatoes - disappointing. The dough and tomato sauce were very good, but the mozzarella was spread across the pizza in small shreds, very unappetizing. And there were exactly 3 small confited tomatoes on it. For €16 it's really outrageous. Then we had one with rocket and spicy salami. They were quite good. The desserts were fine, only the pannacotta was unfortunately not good because all the vanilla had settled at the bottom. That's definitely better. Given the price level, it would be fairer to offer guests more, both in terms of cuisine and ambience. Finally, a tip to revise the Italian translations. A fried egg is not literally an “Uovo al specchio” - that's Google Translate level 🙃 (Italian: Uovo al tegamino or al occhio di bue) Maybe we'll give the O Fra another chance in a few weeks. But for now we really hoped for more. Too bad.

We ordered pizza and bruschetta online and picked them up on site. It was ready on time and everything was delicious. The pizza was perfect.

The only thing that beats the taste of the pizza is the service. Incredibly accommodating and friendly. The best way to enjoy the pizza is fresh on site with a song from the jukebox :)

I have already visited many pizzerias in Aachen, but O’Fra really surprised me in a positive way. Although the price is a little higher, the atmosphere, the service and especially the food are absolutely worth it.

I've never been disappointed here. The pizza is a delight, Amatriciana, Carbonara are my favorites. Appetizer Burrata with zucchini world class. Service (delivery) very friendly and communicative. A great evening with delicious food and very good service.... UPDATE after several visits: 2 stars deduction for the service, unfortunately you also notice that it is difficult to get good staff. A chaotic service and absolute ignorance about the wine products sold led to 2 points being deducted and the excuse that I have to wait for the boss, who is coming soon, doesn't count. It also seems to be modern, smoking in front of the door as an employee just doesn't fit.

Excellent Roman style pizza with pure Italian ingredients. Many pizza’s to unique recipes. The disco ball and 70s Italo disco complement the overall hipster meets classy feel. Personal and very friendly service finish the deal: this place should not be skipped on your Aachen visit.

This was our second time eating here. Quality top, service 1a On the terrace (sidewalk on the street) the chairs are not good for a long stay. But we'll take that into account next time. Reservations recommended on weekends. There was no more space in the dining room.

We were not satisfied with the price-performance ratio. It's a matter of taste, but the pizza base was far too crispy and the toppings weren't enough. Also burned underneath. We were offered to bring new ones, but we didn't want to wait again. We didn't like the ambience either. Chairs inside and outside very wobbly. Only the service was nice.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to Ofra for the first time before a concert. After having a hard time reading the menu, we got three excellent pizzas. The staff are very friendly and we felt like we were in good hands. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again. The only thing we won't be ordering anymore is the bread with the caprese. The quantity and quality of the bread do not justify the price of 4 euros. And it would have been nice to have information about the fact that there is a charge for the bread.

Special pizzas: not really our thing.

The food was really good - but there were five of us there, we had made reservations, we then had to wait about an hour for the starters and a very long time for the pizza that followed. After two hours, we were asked to pay and leave several times, pointing out that there were waiting guests, in a manner that I found to be rather flippant, and without any prior reference to a time window of only two hours. It's a shame, the mood is in the dumps. Answer to the answer: Unfortunately, I couldn't find any attempt to reach me by phone. About the content: If there is a time window for your stay, you should - make the guest aware of this when making the reservation, but at the latest when entering the restaurant, - avoid very long preparation times in the kitchen, - also work on the demeanor of the staff (it's not possible to try to clear away a glass that hasn't been emptied yet!). We can talk about a voucher on the phone, I think the reaction to my criticism is good!

Great restaurant with really tasty food, the pizza has a great thin crust and it's chic and clean. Sitting right on the street wasn't that great for me (luckily you can also sit inside). The staff was very friendly but on the day I was very busy. I was very sorry about that. Because of the overload, I had to wait forever for everything, food, payment, etc. I assume that you otherwise have more employees and you don't have to wait that long for everything, so everything is great so far, highly recommended, only the two small drawbacks. The price is also completely legitimate for what you get :) €22 for a drink and pizza is great. (And it's not far from the main station)
