Nuki - Tasty Asian Gourmet in Essen

I ate here again today. Unfortunately, it was exactly the same as my last visit to this fast-food restaurant. While there is a large selection of dishes, they are not of a good standard. In my opinion, the grilled pork and the accompanying noodles were only lukewarm on my plate, and the advertised fresh herbs were mostly quite wilted and had some soft, brown spots. They were also very stringy in my dish. The table was noticeably dirty, and used dishes were left on the table where we had to sit because there were no other empty tables. It took about 14 minutes before an employee finally took it away after walking past several times. The table wasn't cleaned, so we took some napkins and cleaned it ourselves. The food tasted okay, and it wasn't too loud in the restaurant. Nevertheless, I probably won't be coming back. 😢👎

Very disappointed, unfriendly staff who calls his guests greedy!

At 9:50 PM we weren't allowed to sit inside, and by 10:44 PM the place was completely closed. Yet the website says it's open until 1. But we were still served, and the sushi was delicious and fresh. The noodles were too.

1 star (if I could give 0, I would give 0). I went to this restaurant today with my mother and sister. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food was reasonably priced, but the employee gave me very little change. During our meal, we found a hair and an insect in my plate (see photo), and another hair in my mother's plate. When we politely pointed this out to the staff, the reaction was rude and disrespectful. The employee simply took the plates and gave us strange, unpleasant looks, said nothing, and completely ignored us, even though we stopped to talk to him. We found this behavior very disrespectful. This kind of behavior and lack of hygiene are absolutely unacceptable. We will never come back and advise against eating here. (Photos provided as proof) I hope the restaurant pays more attention to cleanliness and respect for guests in the future.

Typical German Asian fast food restaurant.

The staff doesn't speak or understand German, so my order was taken incorrectly. When I tried to complain, I first had to argue, explain everything in detail, and receive questioning looks. Ultimately, I received my correct order, but the presentation was so poorly presented, as if it had been taken from the trash. The taste of the chicken and rice was below average.

The food tastes below average. Okay, you don't expect authentic dishes, but at least they should be tasty for Europeans. But the service is much worse. The staff (who aren't Asian, but rather Middle Eastern) barely speaks German, except for insults that he hurls at every guest, and he's rude to boot.

Very, very unfriendly staff. I told them BEFORE they prepared my order that I would like baked chicken, not boiled chicken, and that I had accidentally made a mistake. He then said it was too late, and they just asked for the money. I didn't even get a goodbye. They lost a customer.

It is an Asian food that is a mix of many countries. What I eat is sweet and sour stir fry. The taste is not Thai, it is more Vietnamese. The cook of this restaurant is Vietnamese. The price is around 10 euros. For Thai people, it is quite expensive.

As always, solid Asian food...always a favorite for lunch.

Had an excellent meal in Essen today. My initial impression of a fast food joint was quickly put into perspective. Walking through, you find yourself in a clean and tastefully decorated restaurant. Everything is freshly prepared. I had spring rolls (super crispy) and the 83 (noodles with beef and a great salad) with amazing sauces. First-class and incredibly delicious. I'll go back tomorrow and try the soups. You'll hear from me.

Expensive and the portions too small; unfortunately, we weren't full. The baked chicken on both plates was still half-raw and pink inside (could be dangerous). The noodles and spicy sauce were okay, but simply not enough for €10.90 per portion. Unfortunately, even the chic interior doesn't help. We won't be back. For that money, you can get decent portions and chicken that isn't raw elsewhere.

The selection of dishes is large, and there's also a decent selection of vegetarian options. The service was friendly, and the wait time was relatively short. My vegetables with rice tasted very good, especially the sauce was tasty and well-seasoned. My companion had duck and was also very satisfied. For both dishes plus drinks, we paid under €30, which is really reasonable. Thumbs up from us.

The food is okay, but in my experience, the people speak poor German, and it can lead to confusion when ordering.

We ate at Nuki – and it was simply fantastic! The ambiance is modern and stylish with an Asian flair that immediately puts you at ease. The dishes were freshly prepared, perfectly balanced in flavor, and presented with great attention to detail. We were particularly impressed by the variety of the menu – from classic Vietnamese dishes to creative sushi variations. The service was also first-class: friendly, attentive, and fast. You can immediately tell that the food here is prepared with heart and passion. We will definitely be back – Nuki is a real insider tip in Essen for anyone who loves Asian cuisine at the highest level!

The service was disastrous. Extremely unfriendly people. The most unpleasant and unfriendly Asians I've ever seen in my life. They told the waiter not to bother with us and simply said, "There's no more mango shakes," only to stick to the larger table and serve them for a tip...

A “normal Asian” in downtown Essen. The dish was edible, but nothing special. The chicken was fried and relatively fatty. The noodles were ok but could have been hotter. Prices were a little more expensive than elsewhere, noodles + drink = 13.20. But the service was friendly. Card payment from €10 is possible.

Das Nuki Restaurant hat mich rundum begeistert! Das Essen ist nicht nur unglaublich frisch, sondern auch geschmacklich auf einem hohen Niveau – jedes Gericht war ein Genuss. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit und gepflegte Atmosphäre, die das ganze Erlebnis abrundet. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, was den Besuch noch angenehmer macht. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet wird – sowohl in der Küche als auch im Service. Ich komme definitiv wieder und kann das Nuki uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

From the outside you wouldn't think the store was any good but once you walk in the store is a 10/10. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is very tasty and of very good quality. And you can't complain about the prices either. Top 👍🏻

I got a chicken box for lunch. The chicken was only fried with breading that was dripping with fat. No way to eat fried rice with fried chicken. There were no vegetables or anything like that in the box. The cashier wasn't very friendly and didn't seem Asian. Food didn't taste good

Was there for lunch on February 15th. We have eaten here several times and it has always been tasty. But unfortunately not on Saturday. We had fried noodles with chicken breast and 8 spring rolls. Looked good. But the spring rolls tasted expired. Now I'm laying in bed with a FOOD POISONING!!!!!

Fantastic food and great experience! Four of us ate at the Nuki Restaurant and loved it! The food was incredibly tasty, freshly prepared and we all really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was cozy and the restaurant is really stylishly decorated. The service was also very friendly and attentive - we felt completely at home. For the quality and taste, the price-performance ratio is absolutely top. We will definitely come back and can only recommend the Nuki Restaurant!

Unfortunately I wasn't happy once because the sushi was delicious but after that I went there almost 5 times and they said we have sushi from 17 onwards. But today I was there after 5 p.m. and said we don't have any sushi today?!?!?!? ?!?!?!?! Never again

Wir hatten einen wirklich schönen Abend. Nach der anfänglichen Angst etwas auf der Karte zu verpassen hatten wir eine wirklich tolle Auswahl von Gerichten mit Gemüserollen, gebratenen Teigtaschen, Wok Gemüse mit Bratnudeln, Ente und einer Sushi Auswahl. Egal was alles war super und wir kommen gerne wieder. Finales Highlight war der nicht in der Karte stehende Sake als Finisher für den Abend.

There are a lot of Asian people eating there, which is always a good sign. 😁 Very good value for money. The staff is very friendly. A must when traveling in downtown Essen!!! 83 is an absolute hit. Update: there has recently been a division into snack and restaurant operations. The back rooms have been renovated and it has become very chic. There is a separate menu for the restaurant in the evenings with more selection (including sushi), but slightly more expensive prices. You have to know what you want.

The service employee at the counter was so unfriendly and emphatically disinterested that I was about to leave (if I hadn't been too hungry). Unfortunately, the fried noodles were actually just boiled noodles. Apart from the fact that I was full from the portion, there is nothing good to report.

It's been a while since our last visit and unfortunately the quality has deteriorated a lot, as has the friendliness at the take away counter. Musty face, not a word too many, mushy noodles, no Asian in sight. We will go somewhere else in the future.

We haven't eaten Asian food this well in a long time. Starter and both main courses were delicious. When entering the restaurant there was a typical Asian/Vietnamese impression. The greeting was very little Vietnamese but rather Turkish, which surprised me. When ordering my menu, I requested vegetable variations in a slightly spicy yellow curry without any side dishes. “What number” in a Turkish accent was very rude to me. I asked for your understanding as the combinations shown did not appeal to me due to food intolerances. “Not here, number” came back to me. I decided on No. 50 without rice or noodles. I wasn't given an alternative. The prepared menu, which was prepared by the Asian chef, was fresh and tasty. The area surrounding the restaurant was clean at first glance. The toilets were unkempt and the disabled toilet was provided with materials. In the subsequent conversation with an Asian employee, many things were discussed in a benevolent manner with the friendliness that I am familiar with. The employee's voice kept rising after the guests, calling out "Hey cash register here, order here" loudly behind the guests, something that was like something you'd find in a bazaar but doesn't have to be found in a restaurant like this. If the chef tells you to request special variations, always speak to the chef and it will work and there will also be tofu or bread as a side dish. The food is delicious and you can always season it at your own discretion.

Questions about gluten-free dishes were harshly dismissed with reference to the additives on the menu. We couldn't be given a menu even though there were no customers in the front area. Apparently there was no interest in serving us. We went back and had a delicious meal at Bey Food Döner at the main station.

There is takeaway food at the entrance, and there is a nicely decorated restaurant hidden in the back. We were very positively surprised, the Pho was very, very tasty and is definitely recommended!

After I specifically said that it should be vegetarian and was given an OK, I saw that the spring rolls and the meat were fried together. Personally, I don't see this as vegetarian. It's not a problem if these are fried together, but you can't feel attacked and get cheeky because I haven't decided to order there. Nothing else has been prepared for me and I haven't paid either. I can only speak about the snack bar in front. The employees are incredibly nice, the sushi is very good and the other portions are very generous. The meat/fish tastes fresh and further inside it smells like good grilled meat. The atmosphere is typical of a snack bar, but the high chairs are very comfortable.

The noodles were totally oily, which became noticeable in the toilet in the evening. Then the kebab man at the Asian restaurant, who is also totally unfriendly, doesn't work at all. For the first time I had pasta to take away, but then I wanted to eat it inside because it started to rain. The kebab man was totally unfriendly and said, “No, stay outside”. I'm sorry, what? So sorry isn't possible, first of all you can say it in a nicer way and secondly I could have paid the extra amount for a plate. Not again, eating is bad anyway.

They are selling looks, not food. The food portions are so small and so expensive. Its completely rip-off. Do yourself a favour and avoid sitting inside the restaurant. Not worth it.

Die Rinder Pho war unglaublich gut, Avocado Salat super!, Sushi frisch und sehr gut. Die Zutaten waren alle frisch und geschmackvoll. Bis jetzt eines der besten vietnamesischen Restaurants in Essen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Het is een restaurant en snackbar. Wij zaten in het restaurant. Het eten is goed, maar iedereen die in de snackbar ging bestellen, ging voor. We hebben langer dan een uur gewacht en daarna nog te horen gekregen dat wat we bestelden er niet meer was. Heel apart dat ze dat een uur later pas melden. Beter bestel je in de snackbar, dan krijg je veel meer voor dat geld en sneller je eten.

Ik had 24 a. Was koud. Daar wat van gezegd, hoorde zo. Niet te eten. Dan nog de schuifdeuren die steeds open gingen. Steeds koude wind. Mij zie je er niet meer terug!

Sehr authentisches und leckeres Essen Wir hatten Wantan und Kürbis Suppen, Rau xao xot toi, Bun Bo Nam Bo und ein paar Tiger Bier. Die Portionen waren großzügig und sehr sehr lecker. Das Bier hätte kälter sein können und es zieht leicht, da am Ende des Restaurants sofort die offene Mitnahme ist. Die Einrichtung ist aber sehr schön und sieht neu aus. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Definitiv empfehlenswert! Ich hatte die Nudel-Hühnchen-Box und es hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Speisen werden regelmäßig neu zubereitet und das Gericht war so warm, dass ich erst zig Minuten später essen konnte. Die Preise und Portionen sind auch absolut okay.

Ich war zum ersten Mal dort und bin absolut begeistert. In der Karte mal ganz andere Sachen, als man sie sonst bei Asiaten bekommt. Wenn man sich dann darauf einlässt ist es ein sehr besonderes Geschmackserlebnis. Ich wusste nicht so genau wie ich mein Gericht essen sollte, habe das aber nach Rückfrage sehr freundlich erklärt bekommen und wurde reichlich mit köstlichster Suppe mit verschiedenen Zutaten belohnt. Immer gern wieder, wenn ich in Essen bin.

Wir dachten zuerst, dass es sich um ein Bistro handeln würde. Aber wenn man das Restaurant betritt, findet man im hinteren Bereich ein größeres und sehr schön gestaltetes Restaurant. Das Essen war super und die Bedienung freundlich und zuvorkommend. Gerne beim nächsten Besuch in Essen wieder :)

Immer lecker und schnell. Wenn man Tofu mag, können die das auch gut machen. Ich finde die Atmosphäre toll, aber leider haben die den hinterem Bereich zum Restaurant gemacht und man darf nur da sitzen wenn man aufpreis bezahlt. :(

Ist innen größer, als es von außen aussieht. Das Ambiente ist halt kein fünf Sterne Restaurant, aber das Essen ist lecker.

Ich habe eine Gemüse Box mit Hähnchen Fleisch bestellt, in dem Box waren zwei Scheiben Möhre und eine kleine Scheibe Paprika. Als ich das reklamiert habe, wurde mir mitgeteilt:" Fleisch ist teuer geworden, Fleisch kostet "50 € " ich weiß nicht, was das eine mit dem anderen zu tun hat? Naja, 7 € für 100g Fleisch und zwei Scheiben Möhre...Für service gibts null Sterne. NIEWIEDER Nuki!!!!
