Nudelhaus Sano in München

A very nice, simple noodle bar where you can truly taste Japanese Zen. The food is fantastic: The tantamen was an absolute explosion of flavor, and the gyoza were incredibly delicious, both absolutely fresh. The whole experience is topped off with super friendly service. A truly authentic experience, everything was perfect! This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. I'll be back! m(_ _)m

I first ordered a kashiwa with soba noodles, which was absolutely delicious! Then I had a dorayaki for dessert, which was excellent! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Decent restaurant if you’ve never had good Japanese food before. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen which was decent (but the chashu pork was cold and there was no egg included) and a katsu curry which was made from boxed curry mix and had a ridiculously small pork cutlet. We had a taiyaki for desert which was clearly microwaved and cold on one side. We paid 42€ in total (with two drinks and a onigiri). At this price, there are much better options in the city!

If you like typical Japanese food, then I just say - Yes! The food and service were great 🥰 10/10, plus the price is unbeatable. And they have my beloved takoyaki 🥰 A new favorite restaurant for me. 🌸

Authentic Japanese food in Munich, would recommend to anyone in town

After traveling around Northern Europe for three weeks, I was sick of the salty taste of food. I was looking for soba noodles in Munich and found this restaurant. The tempura soba was delicious with a Kansai-style seasoning. I felt at ease knowing that the staff were Japanese.

We went there three times in a row during our vacation. We tried a lot of things and were impressed every time. Everyone was very friendly and the food came quickly. It's a shame we didn't discover it sooner. It's way too cheap for what you get. Highly recommended! We'll be back if we ever go to Munich.

A truly excellent ramen experience! 🍜✨ The broths are rich and balanced, and the ingredients are super fresh. The eggs are especially perfect, the meat and ground beef are beautifully seasoned, and the vegetables are crunchy. The portions are generous and filling. The ambiance is rather simple and functional, classic Japanese, with counter seating. Perfect for a quick, authentic lunch or a casual dinner.

Currently, this is by far the best place for tonkotsu ramen in Munich. The taste is 10/10. It's also ideal for lunch breaks, as the staff is on the ball and there are no long waits.

This is a great small place that really breathes „Japan“. The Japanese staff are very friendly and welcoming. Lots of tasty Japanese food items like different types of ramen, udon, curries and rice dishes. Specialities like homemade „yuki“ (yogurt-ginger drink) give Sano restaurant a special vibe. The place is small and best suited for a quick meal. A really great experience!

Very delicious food! I had kitsune udon, and it was the first good, authentic udon I've had in Germany! I highly recommend it. The tonkotsu ramen was also good, but the soup was a bit thinner.

It's a small, unassuming space, but it's worth it. The two young employees are both cooks and servers, and they're super friendly. The selection isn't very large; the ramen mostly has the same base, just different toppings. The taste was really good, though, and you get your food quickly. The two employees also eat their food there, which is a good sign ;) There isn't much seating, so it's not suitable for groups, and it's a bit run down. But the food and service are good!

This is the Chinese review you want. After ordering the ramen and Tang Yang chicken, they were delivered within five minutes. The noodles were hard and chewy and the barbecued pork was cold. The Tang Yang chicken was okay and not hot at all. No one in Munich now accepts tips, let alone Japanese restaurants. She kept asking customers to choose 10% and said that all Munich restaurants said they charge 10% tip. I asked if she could not give it and she was pretending to be stupid. , anyway, it is run by two girls. I don’t know if the price on Google is deliberately not changed to let others misunderstand. I came here and found that the price is different or forgot to change it. I am so dumbfounded. I can only say that cooking it myself may be more delicious. You can eat eggs in other Japanese ramen restaurants for 12 euros. This one does not even have eggs. I was fooled by a picture in the comment area. I am not an Aoke. I'm just Chen Shuju. If you don’t want to eat dashi powder with water, you can eat bento ya. I recommend it ~ It turns out that some people reported that ten months ago it was very tough and it has not improved ten months later. It seems that they don’t want to continue the business!

Visited in April 2025. It feels like the business changed from a sushi restaurant to a noodle restaurant. Inside the store, there were about 8 counter seats and about 3 tables for 2 people. The menu had a variety of items including udon and ramen. This time I had the recommended spicy miso udon and cutlet curry, both of which had gentle flavors that I had eaten before. I hope that Japanese people who are active overseas will do their best.

Chance find: totemo osishii desu. Authentic Japanese food that is freshly prepared. Highly recommended.

It has been 12 years since I last visited in 2013. This is a ramen, udon, and soba specialty store run by a Japanese owner. Is the main dish ramen? However, udon and soba are also available. Now it seems to be a gathering place for Japanese people living in Munich. This time, I received "Ebi Chili (Ramen)", which has the most foreign feel at this restaurant. Is it ramen with shrimp chili on top? I was surprised to find that it was called "shrimp and chili sauce ramen." Miso-based grilled shrimp with chili sauce on top? It was ramen. The ramen is made by Japanese staff, so you can feel the Japanese ramen feel. However, the shrimp ramen with chili sauce had a very exotic feel to it. This is a restaurant that feels like a Japanese restaurant from the 2000s and 2010s. The ramen also has a taste of that era. Is it the taste and atmosphere that makes you feel like a "Japanese restaurant in Germany" from a generation ago? That's what I thought. Rather than being geared toward geeks, it feels more like a Japanese-style cafeteria/restaurant where you can eat anything you want with peace of mind. !

Starters not so tasty (gyoza & fish balls). Main dishes taste ok. But unfortunately the broth is not particularly 'spicy' (however you describe it). (Yes, you've been to Asia/Japan/South Korea/China... compared to noodle houses in other cities in Germany, they're just not very good) Service was very nice and things went quickly!

Authentic Japanese food at a low level A student assistant prepares ready-made ramen sets from the supermarket. Pasta is cooked, miso paste is mixed with hot water and garnished with spring onions and canned corn. The karaage (fried chicken) were ok but very greasy. The takoyaki were still cold in the middle and reheated, if not thawed.

Bland Asian food. We were visiting from US. The ramen in this place is bland and has no meat taste at all. I don’t think people in the area know what a real ramen is and am confounded by the reviews

It's hard to find authentic Japanese food beyond sushi outside of Japan. So I was excited to find this store. I had Kitsune Udon and it was absolutely outstanding! There is a good selection of different noodle and rice dishes, as well as starters, desserts and sushi. The shop is very small! So it felt like Japan to me 😅 But you have to consider the size. When I was there there were only two employees, yet we got our food surprisingly quickly! The staff are Japanese, the woman was nice and I exchanged a few words with her.

Best place for a quick lunch. I came with my 4 months old baby in a stroller and they were very accommodating although the place is small.

Since we really like Japanese cuisine, it was a must to stop here after the museum. The staff is very friendly and our wishes were taken into account very nicely. All dishes were excellent! Just sharing my experience in relation to the miso and shoyu ramen. There was no egg!! The broth tasted worse than a ready made variety and the noodles were not good. I've wanted to try the ramen from here for so long and it was really disappointing. However to anyone else wanting to try , I'd say give it a go, maybe we just caught them on a bad day 🤷

The place is small and very basic. It is not a place for celebrations or meetings of friends of any kind. Just passing through to eat and leave. What I didn't like at all was the fried smell that permeates everything due to poor ventilation. You will come out smelling fried. Clothes, hair, everything. As for the food, the value for money is not bad. But it's like saying that a cheap hamburger from fast food chains is good value for money. The quality is low. It's the first time I have to add seasoning to my ramen to make it taste like something. The guides are also of low quality. Fried. That's probably where the smell comes from. More like a place to order cheap food by phone. Will I repeat? No

I really like Ramen and I have eaten it all over Japan, Europe, Australia and the US. You can imagine that I was excited to visit this place with a very respectable rating during my recent trip to Munich. The (Tonkatsu) ramen at Sano was unfortunately not very good. In fact, it was not good at all: The noodles were thick with the consistency of overcooked pasta. The broth pretty much tasteless with traces of corn and spring onions; the chashu was a homogenous thick lump of slow cooked pork. No other toppings like nori or egg not to mention that any balance of the ingredients was as absent as the flavours itself. Definitely no recommendation, this was a huge disappointment!

The food was decent, but it didn't really stand out. Unfortunately, the broth was a bit lacking in flavor. On the bright side, both the service and the food were delivered promptly. While it may not be considered completely authentic Japanese, it's still a solid choice compared to other options in Munich.

Our gyoza was well made, but the rest of the food not so much. I found the miso ramen particularly disappointing; it lacked flavor and didn't stand out in any way. Unfortunately, I don't plan to return. However, the prices are very affordable, and it's conveniently located near the Hauptbahnhof for a quick meal. :)

Real Japanese taste, loved the takoyaki. The ramen was well done. The sushi roll was surprisingly underwhelming (the roll was not tight and it was mostly rice). The staff was very polite. Definitely recommend for a ramen and snacks.

Ebi Chilli Ramen - in my opinion the best ramen in town! Very authentic snack bar from the ambience to the food. All dishes are very tasty and there are some vegan options. In addition, the price-performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable!

The MSG soup base is very salty and tastes worse than cup noodles. The noodles were like rubber bands and the pork barbecued pork was cold and tasteless. Not recommended for ramen.

If you want to eat authentically Japanese food in Munich, I recommend the Nudelhaus Sano, it's not the usual fancy thing, it's very simple and authentic and that's exactly what I love about it, it really brings back memories of Japan, you can also see the kitchen from the table -follow events. The quality of the food is so good, the waitresses are always very friendly and the prices are completely fair. For me it's a great place to chase away a little wanderlust for Japan. At the same time it is also very similar to a great Japanese supermarket.

The waitress was very mean and unfriendly, treating white and Asian faces differently. On an exceptionally cold day in December 2023, our group of four went to this restaurant. There were no seats available for a group of four, so the waitress, with a sour face, made us stand outside in the cold wind and didn't let us wait inside. After a long wait, two white women arrived, and the waitress cheerfully led them to their seats. Shouldn't there be a queue system that respects the order of arrival? Do we have to keep waiting indefinitely if there are no tables for four, while smaller groups arriving later get seated first?

The staff are very friendly and the food is authentic. We were very satisfied and will come back.

My partner and I went here for dinner after a major shopping trip. We each had an appetizer. I had curry, my partner had ramen. Everything very tasty! 😋 We found the small counter in front of the cooking area where you can sit very interesting. The seat height was ideal for eating. Staff was super friendly. The food also came very quickly and was hot. Highly recommended for people who like Japanese cuisine!

It's a very small restaurant and seating is not very comfortable. - The ramen was juicy and flavored. I found it a bit too salty. Topping / broth ratio was good. The noodles were rougher than I used to have, but still good. One thing to consider is there weren't many ramen options, only 4-5. - Karaage: Taste was good, texture was nice and crisp but it was too oily.
