Nonna di Mia Düren in Düren

Lovely place, I went there for breakfast with my family. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, but the fact that you don't get a single free drink with a full breakfast makes the otherwise nice breakfast a bit unattractive in terms of price. The glasses in which the latte macchiato was served were also deliberately small to save on portion size. Likewise, the bread served was meager and uninspiring. Sorry, dear Nonna di Mia team, you can do better elsewhere!

Unfortunately, very disappointing. Although the restaurant was almost empty, our table was marked as "reserved" during our meal, and we were subsequently told rudely that we couldn't sit there. The tone was inappropriate and not at all customer-oriented. We felt like second-class guests and left. The food was also very greasy and of poor quality. We won't be back. Good staff are sadly a rare commodity these days. 😟

So, today I experienced something I've never experienced in a restaurant before. I made a polite and friendly complaint. The butter looked to me like it had mold on it. I showed it to the waiter, who was friendly, took it away, and very quickly brought me a replacement. He came back to me later and explained that the kitchen had said it was from the burrata. It certainly didn't look like that to me, but I said everything was fine and that he had taken care of it properly. Then, we were sitting on the first floor, and I heard an annoyed-sounding voice from downstairs asking, "Who was responsible for the butter?" It made me feel uncomfortable. But what was incredibly unprofessional was that yet another waitress came to me and asked if I had just complained about the butter. I confirmed that I had and then told her that a waiter had already been there and my issue had been resolved. The waitress became brusque, saying that the head chef had told her to come back to me. She was very upset by my statement that it was mold. Butter can't mold. I felt myself getting furious because the way she handled it was completely unacceptable, especially since the matter had already been resolved. We discussed it, the waitress left, and then, as she was leaving, told me I didn't need to come back. Well, what can I say? I was very disappointed and angry about how my complaint was handled. Dear Nonna di Mia, believe me, I will never come back, and I advise everyone else to do the same if they want a pleasant experience in a restaurant with competent staff. PS: Half the blueberries in my breakfast were old and mushy. But since I've experienced how complaints are handled, nobody dares to complain! I know that butter can't mold, but thanks for pointing that out anyway. Other food items that might have been misplaced, however, certainly could! Ciao!

The food is delicious, but the service needs improvement! Orders are only partially delivered, and ordering more drinks is nearly impossible. The server looks at you, but prefers to sort and put away the cutlery?!

The food is great. I've been disappointed by the service several times now. It took 20 minutes to be served the first time. I would have liked to order more drinks, but I didn't have the option. If the food weren't delicious and there were alternatives in Düren, I would probably go there.

We went there for breakfast. We had the large breakfast for two. The quality of the food and the selection were unparalleled. It's a shame, though, that with a breakfast for two, everything is only served three times on the plate or in the bread basket. Also, the rolls are served unsliced, which wouldn't be so bad if the knives were sharper than a spoon. I had a large coffee with breakfast, which was very tasty. All in all, a lovely place, and highly recommended.

Like several others, I can only say that the service was a disaster. The waitress—the owner herself—was in a terrible mood, and it showed. She was chatting and giving gifts to colleagues, making us feel like we were intruding. The order was taken rudely, everything was placed roughly on the table, and it took 10 minutes to get the bill because she was chatting amiably with a woman at the front. The food was good, but that doesn't make up for the poor treatment of the guests.

Yesterday, we waited almost half an hour after arriving for a waiter before someone came to take our food and drink order. The tuna pizza arrived fairly quickly, but it was tasteless, nothing like the pizzas I used to get at Nonna's. The cheese wasn't properly melted, still quite hard. This was the third time Nonna's pizza has been a disaster; we were starting to think the cook had changed or they were cutting costs by using artificial or low-fat cheese. Conclusion: I won't be ordering pizza from Nonna's again.

The food presentation and service could use some improvement. I don't want to have to fish my food out of a casserole dish. It's simply inconvenient to eat from. A regular plate would have been perfect. The food itself tastes great.

Vegan lasagna… best not to order it. I wouldn't recommend the vegan lasagna. It was far too runny, the lasagna sheets were barely recognizable, and the flavor was almost entirely the sauce.

I've found my new favorite restaurant in Düren. From the ambiance to the service and the truly excellent breakfast, I've had nothing but positive experiences. I hope it stays that way and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the food... after a 20-minute wait without a menu or service, we gave up and went somewhere else to eat. I really hope the kitchen staff knows more about their craft than the service staff. The one star is for the great location.

I recommend it 100%. On Sundays, the city (Düren) has its shops closed. There isn't much to do, and going to the cafes and bakeries is a good option.

Before our visit, we specifically called to inquire whether the restaurant served gluten-free breakfast. We were assured on the phone that it wouldn't be a problem as long as you let us know before ordering. We mentioned this to the waitress right away. Unfortunately, she repeatedly promised to check with the kitchen, but only after several attempts did she reply that they only served yogurt with fruit – nothing else gluten-free. When we pointed out that we had been told something different on the phone, we were simply told that sometimes people give incorrect information when things are busy. I found that very unfortunate and unprofessional. We were there with a larger group, and overall, it was disappointing that we couldn't rely on the information given over the phone. Had we known this beforehand, we wouldn't have come at all.

The best breakfast in Düren and the surrounding area. The other dishes are also of outstanding quality, both in terms of taste, presentation, and quantity. Furthermore, the extremely attentive staff is impressive. All in all, one of the top restaurants/bistros in the area. And definitely the best pizza by far!

We had dinner here today. We ordered the "Nonna" pizza. The pizza was delicious – a huge compliment to the chef for his skill! But: 1. The pizza wasn't pre-sliced. 2. The waiter didn't bring any plates. 3. The waiter didn't bring any napkins either (we had to ask for them). Unfortunately, that's not the kind of service you'd expect.

All the staff were very friendly and the service was very good. I'll be back again and again. If you love matcha and croissants, this is the place for you. It tastes great and I highly recommend it.

What an absolutely fantastic breakfast. I recommend the "Mia Piccola" breakfast. Super delicious, beautifully presented, and a gem for the price. I would come back anytime.

We were there with the whole family today and are beyond disappointed and angry. First of all, the food was excellent, but the female server was a disaster. They never checked to see if anyone wanted a drink, let alone cleared away any empty items, and to top it off, we had to wait well over an hour for the food. I hope the owner reads the reviews and takes this to heart. The lady was also pretty annoyed at the end because she only received a tip of just under €4 on a €251 bill. To the lady: Take better care of the guests instead of sitting at the table with your friends during work hours, then you'll be able to get tips too!

We ate and drank outside on a hot day. The drinks weren't chilled, and the appetizer was served with the main course. The bruschetta was sliced ​​too high. The pizza was relatively small and overpriced. The salad, however, was very appetizing and served on two plates as requested.

We actually really enjoy coming here and keep coming back. We always particularly liked the appetizer platter. That's no longer available! The replacement (cheese or sausage platter) is really overpriced at €16.00 and very sparsely filled. The "Easter of the Season" was, first of all, a lonely melon boat. No dips for the bread. It's a real shame about the appetizer platter, which was originally super delicious and extensive. What a shame.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We once had a pizza with beef steak and a salad with chicken breast. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff, and the food came quite quickly. I eat steaks quite often, but this one on the pizza is great. We always enjoy coming back to Nonna di Mia.

The matcha tasted very good. The pizza wasn't bad, but it lacked a bit of salt (the dough wasn't really salty, we'd say). Plenty of seating, and you can sit comfortably outside and enjoy the sun 😊 The staff was very nice and friendly 👍

Today we had chicken fillet, broccoli and foil potatoes for lunch. When the plate came we couldn't believe our eyes. 4 small potatoes, 2 flowers, broccoli, small fillet. We weren't satisfied.

The two of us went there for dinner for our anniversary and were looking forward to a lovely evening – unfortunately, we were disappointed. The food was okay, tasted okay, but nothing that could have saved the evening. The service, on the other hand, was really bad. After being greeted, we were told we could choose our own seating. We sat down at a table without a reservation sign – only to be informed in the middle of our meal that we would have to move. The new table was in an uncomfortable aisle area, far from the quiet corner where we had originally sat. Although I calmly and politely expressed my displeasure, it was completely ignored. Instead, the table was hastily changed, and afterward, our waitress completely ignored us. Our new seat was also right next to a large, loud group – anything but the peaceful atmosphere we had hoped for that evening. We had to go to the counter to pay, and there, too, not a single word of apology or politeness. It seemed as if the staff couldn't care less whether guests were comfortable or not. I'd heard nothing but good things about the restaurant, but my own experience was disappointing—and definitely not worth recommending.

A recommendation for the food: YES. Service: a resounding NO after 5 visits! Out of 5 visits, 2 times we've had bad luck with the service. Last night, it was the last straw. Arrived at 7:20 p.m., table outside was no problem. Ordered drinks and asked for some time to choose our food because someone was still looking. Drinks arrived, but the food order wasn't taken. We spoke to the waitress in charge, "It'll be right there..." Nothing. We spoke to another waiter who had taken the order around 7:35 p.m. One starter and two main courses each. The Bruschetta Classic starter arrived at 7:47 p.m. From then on, we had to wait; many guests arrived after us and received their food. The accompanying person went to the restroom and returned, stunned, with the statement: "We've been waiting half an hour for our main course since the appetizer. There's nothing going on inside. The waitresses and a waiter are playing rock, paper, scissors..." The accompanying person was about to pay and leave. I then approached a waiter again, who said the food had been taken properly and should be here soon. Nothing for another 15 minutes. Three waiters passed us, and our assigned waitress asked if anything was wrong. "Yes, we've been waiting for an hour for the main course. If it doesn't arrive soon, we'll pay and leave." Then the waitress got even more cheeky: "She doesn't know what's going on or what to do!" She came in, came back, apologized for the kitchen, and offered a hot drink on the house after the meal. The food arrived at the table at 9:12 p.m. That's almost two hours after arrival. After dinner, we weren't in the mood for the free drink. Instead of not charging us for two waters, they charged us the full price. The weekend before, I was there with my boyfriend and paid €70 just for drinks. So, we spent about €120 there in two weeks. Dear service staff, devote your attention to the guests, because ultimately, they pay your salaries, not to your friends, with whom you have private conversations, ignore the guests (which was the case on the first visit), or, like yesterday, perhaps notice that the food you ordered hasn't been served yet. NONNA DI MIA CIAO, you won't see us again until we hear that the service has improved.

There were three of us there. It was very nice and cozy. The service was very friendly. The price-performance ratio was okay, but still not cheap. But if you want to try it and don't mind the change...you'll find some good food there. The wait was quite long, over 40 minutes...but the food was delicious.

Wir waren mit 4 Personen dort essen und waren alle begeistert. Die Pizza super lecker,toller hoher knuspriger Rand. Der kleine gemischte Salat war sehr vielseitig und das Brot mit Dipp kann ich auch als Snack oder Vorspeise empfehlen. Das Beste waren jedoch die Ravioli gefüllt mit Ziegenkäse, wobei der Walnuss crunch die Krönung war. Einziger Nachteil war, dass draußen die kleinen ,runden Tische zu klein sind ,um zu viert zu essen. Ansonsten alles sehr lecker und Bedienung freundlich

I love this Italian restaurant in Düren. Large selection of dishes on the menu, decent sized portions. You can sit inside the establishment (there are 2 floors) or on the summer terrace. The oil in the bottle that is on the table is excellent, just like in Italy, I recommend trying it with bread. Sometimes the dishes were under-salted, but this is easily fixable 😉 Overall, we were satisfied. 😊

I ordered a margarita pizza there. The pizza was very chewy, almost like dough. Seemed like an expensive frozen pizza. Way too much edge. But the selection is also very small. The staff is nice, but they also have a lot to do. For vegetarians, it's more meh than wow Wouldn't go there anymore

The "Nonna" pizza was mediocre. Lots of dough, relatively few toppings and not really hot. In a place like this, almost €8 for an average wine is also ambitious.

About a year ago I was very excited. You could taste every dish that love and effort went into its preparation, but the last three visits were very disappointing. Some of the food arrived cold and didn't taste nearly as good. :(

The food is delicious, they serve the best Zuppa di Pomodoro. However, the staff is a roller-coster ride, sometimes they are really nice, but sometimes they are just rude. Maybe they feel overwhelmed when the place is too crowded.

It can happen, luckily I'm not allergic, so no drama For dessert I chose waffles with Amarena cherries, ice cream and cream. No special requests, just like it says on the menu. Waffles were served with cocktail cherries, ice cream and no cream. When I pointed out that the cherries served were not Amarena cherries, I replied that there were no Amarena cherries. This can also happen, but then you should ask the guest whether it is okay or not. I also pointed out the missing cream. I was told that this dessert was not served with cream. Personally, I didn't miss the cream but if cream is on the menu I expect the dessert to be served with cream. “Then the kitchen must have forgotten, sorry.” Now one might expect that for these multiple transgressions there might have been a nice gesture of a drink on the house or a discount. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Good service is different. Therefore it was probably my first and last visit to this restaurant. The second star goes to the toilets, which are at least quite well maintained.

Simply great! The Nonna di Mia offers delicious food, especially the tomato soup is to die for. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Special praise goes to Jonas, who made the evening even more pleasant with his friendly and attentive manner. Rarely have I seen such a nice and committed employee! Perfect start to the day! This café is an absolute insider tip for all breakfast lovers! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the staff friendly and attentive. The menu offers a great selection - from classic breakfast options to creative specialties. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients: everything was fresh, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented. The coffee was aromatic and perfectly prepared. Wir haben das 2 x das Restaurant besucht. Bruschetta classic war ganz ok. Das Pasta Lachs Gericht war enttäuschend. Anscheinend wurde es aufgewärmt. Die Sahne Sauce war ganz klebrig. Das Pasta Gericht mit Gambas war ok. Mein Mann hatte nur auch extremes Sodbrennen nach dem Essen. War wohl auch nicht die bette Qualität an Zutaten. Die Bedienung sehr nett.

The waitress Benedetta (name was on the bill) is super unfriendly. When we ate there, she was unfriendly from the start. My friend was kindly brought to the reserved table by another waitress. Benedetta then came to my friend and asked annoyed if she had really made a reservation. After eating we wanted to pay, but the prices didn't match our food. After we pointed this out to the waitress, she got the receipts very annoyed and aggressively slapped them on the table with the word “PLEASE!” We looked at what exactly went wrong and noticed that the waitress had mixed up the drinks even though we explicitly said what we had ordered when paying. Meanwhile, she was serving other people in the restaurant. Afterwards I informed her that she had mixed up the drinks and therefore our bills were incorrect. She showed no understanding, didn't respond and said ironically, “Have a nice evening!”

Sehr leckeres Essen. Wir hatten eine Pizza Diavola und einmal Nudeln plus einem Brot mit zwei Dips zur Vorspeise. Es war wirklich alles sehr lecker das Brot war Butterweich und die Dips wirklich gut. Die Pizza war wirklich sehr gut und die Nudeln haben meiner Partnerin auch gut geschmeckt. Ich hab leider versäumt Bilder zu machen das werden wir beim nächsten Besuch nachholen. Aus unserer Sicht nicht der Typische Pizzeria Italiener eher etwas gehobener und der Style im Restaurant ist auch wirklich toll aus unserer Sicht.

Food is always excellent, especially when Jeanette is in the kitchen whipping up great, tasty dishes. We have always received very good service from the staff. When it's full (almost always), you have to show understanding to the staff. We and our family remain regular guests and always enjoy coming.

You can get very good Italian dishes here. The food is fresh and very tasty. Prices are affordable and the staff is always friendly and attentive.

We were there with the family for breakfast in the morning. Super friendly service! Extra requests were no problem and the explanation of the dishes and their ingredients was flawless! In terms of price, I think it's a little too much. But overall it was a good, solid dining experience. The only thing I would basically like to see (in all restaurants) would be fair openness when it comes to convenience products. Ultimately, I pay a chef and the rest of the team for the craft, so I don't want to get frozen schnitzel. (just as an example). Otherwise, of course, I have nothing against well-bought products. Very few people can or want to do everything themselves. Otherwise, keep it up!
