Such a cute, authentic little restaurant in the middle of a residential area. It feels a bit like being cooked for in a friend's living room. There was no music playing, which made it easy to have a great conversation. The food was amazing. Absolutely fair price.

The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. Aside from being vegan, organic, homemade, human-friendly, and queer-friendly, among other things… it simply tastes good! The broths are perfectly seasoned, and the vegetables are prepared differently depending on the dish. Try the noodles with shiitake mushrooms cooked in broth. It has a different consistency and tastes different than fried.

A very nice little restaurant with Japanese cuisine. It's mainly known for its thick udon noodles with broth. But all the other dishes are delicious!

The food was very good. We sat outside with our dog. There's no terrace, but there are so few cars on the street that you can sit comfortably outside.

They do Udon and Tempura, and they do both excellently! I've always preferred restaurants that have limited menus, because then you know they do those things well. The service is excellent too. They're a small place, and sometimes there's a line when it's busy, but it's worth the wait and the staff is fair and kind. The atmosphere is lovely too, the decoration is tasteful and deliberate. They also have a clear political stance, being vegan, LGBTQ+ friendly and anti-fascist. It's rare to see a restaurant take a stance, and I think that's great. More places should speak up for what's right.

Simply good, vegan Japanese food in Cologne's Kalk district. A lovely alternative atmosphere, friendly staff, and truly amazing cakes and desserts. Occasionally, they have specials that are truly worth checking out. I highly recommend it.

Hidden gem. Small place in a living areas for veggies. There could be no place for you if you not book a table. 23 euros for two big cups of veggie noodles. We took with mushrooms. There are only non-alcoholic drinks.

Delicious food, somewhat cramped seating

The interior is exceptionally comfortable: perfectly proportioned chairs, just the right height to relax, soft cushions, stable tables with an ideal size-to-dish ratio. The textures of the surfaces feel nice to the touch. Lighting is spot on, soft natural light from wide windows, creative handmade bulbs, and a charming little chandelier. It's not a large space, but the layout is smart. Tables are well arranged, never feeling cramped. I especially loved the tempura, fresh vegetables with a crispy, flavorful coating, and a special dipping sauce that balances savory and sweet beautifully. The Udon noodles have an excellent chewy texture. The broth isn't as rich as I expected, but its lightness works really well for warm weather. We tried the miso Udon and the golden tan tan. The latter has a strong ginger note; personally, I’d love a touch more sesame flavor. An unexpected highlight: the red bean bun. I thought it might be like a German Mörbschen, but it turned out to be thicker and more yeasty, with a softer surface, really satisfying. The food presentation is clean and minimal, served on small trays with beautiful bowls. I'd love to know where to buy some of them :) You can tell the owner is creative and passionate. The menu design is adorable, full of clear info and even a detailed explanation of how Udon is made. So generous to share that process with guests. The location is literally a hidden gem, tucked further into a quiet street. It’s peaceful, easy to miss, and absolutely worth finding. Highly recommended!

It's simply delicious! Great soups, but also other delicious dishes featuring homemade udon. My go-to is the kimchi tofu udon, but the menu offers great variety. The seasonal specials are always worth a try, even if it's hard not to order the usual favorites because they're just so good. The prices are reasonable; the simplest soup (kake udon) currently costs well under €10, is tasty, and filling. More costs more, but everything remains within a fair range for everyone involved 🙂 It's cozy and usually well-stocked. You can also order and pick up, which works great! Oh, and everything's vegan.

I've been wanting to go here for a long time. Last week, I finally made it. I'm absolutely thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious, good value for money, and the service was very friendly. Everything is just right here. I definitely recommend it. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely try it.

Updated July 2024. Very tasty as always. All dishes are vegan. The nut wedges for dessert and the homemade herbal lemonade are excellent. I'm a repeat customer at Nobiko. Everything is freshly prepared daily. Very, very tasty. Fresh and homemade. Relaxed atmosphere.

Vegan ramen soup is highly recommended! We took them with us and ate them at home. It was absolutely outstanding. The ambience is not necessarily reminiscent of a ramen restaurant. The few tables were too close together, so we took our food with us. But we definitely recommend it!

Ich war heute das erste Mal im Nobiko im Herzen von Kalk. Der Laden war super süß eingerichtet, man hat gleich ein gutes Gefühl vermittelt bekommen. Ich habe mehrere Vorspeisen gegessen und eine super leckere Miso Suppe. Die Zutaten waren frisch und knackig. Alles in einem, ein Klasse Restaurant! Die Kelner*innen waren super freundlich und höflich. Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen und komme definitiv wieder. ! Wichtig ! Reserviert zur Sicherheit immer einen Tisch. Der Laden ist gut besucht. Was ein gutes Zeichen ist 😉

Today I was at Nobiko in the heart of Kalk for the first time. The store was decorated really cutely and you immediately got a good feeling. I ate several starters and a super delicious miso soup. The ingredients were fresh and crunchy. All in one, a great restaurant! The waiters were super friendly and polite. I can highly recommend it and will definitely come back. ! Important ! To be on the safe side, always reserve a table. The store is well attended. Which is a good sign 😉

Anyone who knows and cooks Japanese cuisine knows how heavy it is on fish and poultry. Without Nobiko, I would still be of the opinion that vegan Japanese cuisine would not be possible. The opposite is the case: authentic and surprising at the same time.

Great Vegan food (Mostly Udon) from a well diverse menu. The rice amount was a little too small for the big bowl portion of the tempura, but it was delicious. The place itself is small and fits only a few customers, but offers enough space to sit with friends or as a couple. Due to it's small space, reservation is recommended. Its location does not offer many parking spots, so we parked at the Köln Arcaden.

Incredibly delicious, I could have ordered a second pot of udon straight away. I also recommend the Anpan as a dessert.

I love the Nobiko 😍 The food is always great and the employees are great! You should always make a reservation. I've only spontaneously had luck there once so far.

We were just passing through and came across this restaurant. Appears inconspicuous and hidden from the outside. Were warmly greeted and served. However, the food was "only" good - nothing special. The atmosphere seemed a bit "dingy", almost dirty and the special Asian drink was definitely too expensive. Overall, unfortunately just a mediocre experience.

Absolute must for noodle soups or udon fans. A small, very cozy shop with great dishes that leave nothing to be desired. The Golden TanTan are a 10/10 and delicious every time.

We have always enjoyed going to Nobiko for years. The food is always great, the prices are fair, the atmosphere is cozy and the entire staff is always very nice. We prefer to eat the teishoku dishes, as there are always changing offerings of tsukemono and side dishes. Absolute recommendation! As a couple, we can always find a place shortly after opening, even without a reservation, but it is advisable to reserve in advance, especially with a larger group.

We picked out the store specifically. It has to be said that we are holidaymakers from Hamburg and our hotel was nearby. Nice little shop. Just too inconspicuous. Nevertheless, we had to go again on the first evening and make a reservation for the following day, as the small restaurant is very busy, at least on Friday and Saturday. The portions could be a bit bigger. The homemade udon are very tasty and the “Keesekuchen” and the tiramisu tart at the end were also a poem. Maybe a little note about the ambience: The operators seem to be politically committed to a cosmopolitan and tolerant community.

What a great shop! The food was DELICIOUS, the people who work there were friendly and child-friendly, the guests were diverse and the atmosphere was cozy. I definitely want to go there again. However, I would reserve a table next time as the restaurant is quite small and obviously quite popular. We were lucky to get a table early in the evening on Sunday.

The three of us visited Nobiko for the first time and were surprised at how good the store was. The service was super friendly, the shop itself was a left-wing eye-catcher with lots of posters and the food was incredibly tasty. We'd love to come back. :)

VEGAN RAMEN! Yes, that doesn't sound combinable at first, but it's an absolute insider tip! The food is delicious, the different ramen are perfectly combined and there is a great selection of tea and seasonal drinks. A menu where everything is vegan is also an absolute dream. We always enjoy coming back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We were here spontaneously on a Saturday evening. Everything was actually reserved, but we were lucky to be able to sit at a table that was still available for an hour. So making a reservation is probably a good idea on a Saturday evening. The food was super tasty. Everything vegan. This made it quite difficult for me to even decide what I wanted. In the end I decided on Kimchi Udon and I thought it was really tasty. I was worried at first that it would be too spicy, but it was just the right amount of spiciness and you could certainly find it described as slightly spicy in other restaurants. The atmosphere was very hip and cozy. The staff was friendly. I can recommend it.

Were there for the first time and had two portions of udon in a delicious broth with pointed cabbage, mushrooms and vegan mince. Everything was perfectly coordinated and the homemade shiso lemonade also tasted great. Not so sweet, so the special taste of the shiso leaves came through well. The shop is very lovingly furnished, the menus alone were designed so beautifully and with great attention to detail and in every corner you can find pretty little things and extraordinary decorations. Attention also to all people who are not interested in Japanese or noodles, but rather like sweet food: The tiramisu cake was 11/10, I would come back for that in a heartbeat. The staff was also super friendly, we felt very comfortable and are happy to have discovered this great shop.

It was our first time at Nobiko and we were really impressed. I immediately felt very comfortable when I entered the restaurant because it has a very personal and authentic charm. The illustrations on the walls with political messages, the small toys and figures everywhere and the very friendly and open-minded staff contributed to this. The food was super delicious, we opted for cold udon salads and (among other things) homemade lemonade, which was just right on a hot summer day. Of course everything was exclusively vegan and there was even a selection of cakes/cakes.

A very good vegetarian udon restaurant in Cologne. I have visited three times in total, and the overall menu is on the light side. But personally, I prefer heavy flavors. In the end, my favorite is the Ninniku Udon with garlic soy milk soup base. It is much richer than other items, but it is not greasy. In the summer, I can drink the whole bowl of Udon soup. It’s okay to drink them all. The vegetarian tempura was unexpectedly fried very well. Although I prefer tempura with a crispy crust, Nobiko's crust is overall soft, but not soggy, so I personally think it's good. The most eye-catching thing is that the fried outer skin locks the moisture of various ingredients inside, so you can taste the fresh and sweet juice when you bite into it. The restaurant is located in an alley, so it is very quiet. The overall atmosphere is very suitable for a date or with two or three friends. It is suitable for slowly tasting and chatting with friends. Then you can swipe your card.

The one star missing from the ambient atmosphere might simply be due to sheer exhaustion, but in every other way it was one of the best "eating out" experiences in a good long while. And I usually don't very much like going out to eat...
