Delicious food at fair prices. Great service and very friendly staff. It's really cozy inside and you can sit outside in the sun. We would love to come back when we are in the area. Recommended :)

I been travel on Germany from England and end up by a recomandation on this place good outside looking, we wait for so long, finally we get a table, the person who attend us after 45 minutes waiting was so rude, inside decent we wait another 30 minutes food was looking good but no flavors at all, the waiter looking at us like she want to kill us, on top we been seen some cocoroches in some corners, if u wanna get a bad service with some cocoroches as a company defently is the one

After being unable to find room for two at another restaurant, we arrived at the Nikolausklause. We were greeted very warmly, and at our request, our orders were taken immediately. The salad with honey mustard dressing was delicious. The main courses, however, were not tasty and not worth the price. The atmosphere is absolutely quaint, with great attention to detail, and everything is clean. The manager and the waitresses were all very nice and friendly.

Nice cozy atmosphere and a very nice owner. Extra requests were no problem. Our child suffers from celiac disease and everything has been done to ensure that she can eat. Thank you very much for that! The food was rich and delicious. Beforehand there was a delicious salad as a starter and at the end a schnapps from the boss's home country (Croatia) as well as ice cream for the child on the house. We would love to come back.

We were finally here again after a long time. And what can I say, we once again had a great evening, with delicious food, despite our special wishes being fulfilled. As always, the service and boss were in a great mood and friendly. We were really looking forward to it. We had the delicious plate from home & a delicious schnitzel, there was nothing to complain about this time either! Hopefully we'll see each other again this year! Thank you!

Phew... I'm sorry to write that the schnitzel was an absolute disgrace. Dry and burnt! The cream sauce ordered was not a cream sauce. I had to return the food. The boss herself brought the food and should have seen the burnt areas, so you don't give out food like that!!!But... The boss immediately saw it and had a new schnitzel made, which was better... but... not good either. The decoration in the back room where we sat was a disaster. Children's carnival paired with a retirement home! The side salad consisted mainly of white and red cabbage! Conclusion: Food was bad but service was great and the bar at the front was quaint.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed and were guided by the reviews. Our salad had two spoonfuls in quantity. The portions were too small for the price. My starter was forgotten and didn't come at all. We didn't think the price for the food was justified and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice evening on vacation.

After a day of skiing in Winterberg, we ended up in this cute village with ditto restaurant. Just called to see if there was room for 2 people and it was no problem. Upon entering, the interior immediately catches your eye, you are amazed at everything. The simple menu does not disappoint and the food is of good quality and just the way you like it. You get a lot of it and it tastes good. The service is very friendly and you just feel at home here. That's what we love, living room coziness. We will definitely come back again when we are in the area.

Ein Geheimtipp im Hochsauerland Ok, ich habe eine ganze Zeit lang hier im Hochsauerland gelebt und kenne daher die örtliche Gastronomie recht gut Ein wahres Highlight ist für mich das Kleine Kartoffelhaus / Nikolausklause, ganz malerisch am Hügel neben der Kirche gelegen Schon seit Jahren ein guter Ort der gemütlichen Einkehr und wirklich leckerem Essen Ok, das mit dem Geheimtipp hat sich inzwischen herumgesprochen, weshalb eine Reservierung durchaus sinnvoll ist Die Speisekarte (bitte selbst auf der Homepage einsehen) glänzt mit einer kleinen aber feinen Auswahl verschiedener Gerichte zu bezahlbaren Preisen Das Ambiente im Restaurant überrascht mit liebevoller Kreativität Es gibt einen ürigen Gastraum und zusätzlich einen größeren Saal, welcher auch z.B. für Hochzeiten etc gut geeignet ist Die kroatische Betreiber-Familie ist sehr herzlich und schnell bekommt man das Gefühl, ein Teil der Familie zu sein Ich möchte betonen, dass ich inzwischen schon längst nicht mehr im Sauerland, sondern an der Schwarzmeerküste lebe Aber wenn immer mein Weg mich ins Sauerland führt, ist die Nikolausklause in Olsberg immer ein genussvoller Zwischenstopp für mich geworden

Weihnachtskarte: Nur ein vegetarisches Gericht. Das war nicht lecker. Gemüse mit Mehlsoße und Käse. Absolut langweilig. Andere Vegetarische Möglichkeit war, Schnitzelgerichte ohne Schnitzel zu bestellen. …. Was soll das sein? Auch die Fleischesser fanden die verschiedenen Gerichte nicht besonders lecker. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Eenmaal binnen moeten we snel bestellen omdat er een groep aankomt van 25 personen. Wat een afknapper. Je gaat uiteten voor lekker lang te kunnen tafelen, niet voor een snelle hap. Een typisch ons kent ons restaurant, waar bekenden voor worden getrokken en heel anders behandeld worden. Ze worden op hun wenken bediend. Iemand van ons wilde een kinder menu bestellen vanwege weinig honger. Nee, dit ging absoluut niet omdat diegene een volwassenen is. In mijn ogen is klant koning, en moet zich zeker niet verplicht voelen om een grote maaltijd te moeten bestellen van de ober. Iedereen kreeg shotjes na het eten en wij kregen niks. Daarnaast is de gastvrouw die iedereen bediend heel onvriendelijk. Ze denkt alleen maar aan geld en niet aan de klanten zelf. Voor ons geen tot ziens!

Company Christmas party: Great food, staff in a great mood (how small a beer can you get? Have a regular one and if you don't want more, leave it 😂) That's not meant negatively and didn't spoil the atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

Over-salted, rotten-tasting meat, monotonous, boring salad, even the not spicy Djuvec rice was just chopped up basmati rice with topped tomatoes and a zucchini topping. That leaves the beer, which was fine. Finally, wait 20 minutes to be able to pay. Overall: Disappointing. Scrap!

Small but fine restaurant with a menu that changes every 14 days. Rustic and very cozy, when the weather is good you can also sit in the beer garden. Great location with a nice boss and equally nice staff. We'll be back ☝️😊

Quaint restaurant with very good service (Betty runs the place herself, at least today). We are here for the second time today and it was great again. No flavor enhancers, everything freshly prepared. My husband can tell you a thing or two about it (food intolerances).

What a delightful little gem. We were helped with a friendly smile as we stumbled over our German, but with some English and Dutch, we easily ordered our meal. We could order half portions for the kids. Our host was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the kids were given an ice cream too.

We wanted to eat here on holiday. We received our drinks promptly. We were told there were 2 schnitzels left. So when ordering, my friend and I wanted the schnitzels and the kids chicken nuggets. Then they told us there weren't any either. Well, schnitzels🤔 then decided to leave because this was very special. A comment was made that we could only get a pizza in the village, but we were welcome at the other restaurant 200m away and had a delicious meal. When we paid for our drinks, they were also slightly more expensive than on the menu, but we didn't say anything about it because we were done with them.

We were there spontaneously yesterday, 4 adults and 2 children. We were warmly welcomed and the summer menu offered something for everyone, whether vegetarian, child or meat lover. The service was very attentive to the children: there were card games, coloring books with pencils, a children's salad plate with cucumbers and watermelon and finally a mini popsicle on the house. We ate here last week and it was very tasty. The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly and was kind to the 3 children we had with us. As a vegetarian, I had the ratatouille, which was very tasty. We had bread and salad beforehand, which tasted very good too. Nice to have real German food.

Wanted to make a reservation at 6:30 PM, but that wasn't possible, it had to be at 6:00 PM. Okay, no problem. If you arrive at 6:00 PM, it's strange that a table is occupied! We wanted to order food, they only had two schnitzels, no chicken nuggets for the children, but they did have schnitzels, which is strange because they were gone? We then said thank you, but it was mentioned that they were the only ones and that there was nothing else to eat in the village except pizza. That was not right because 100 meters away is Gasthof Zum Post where we had a delicious meal 👍😊. Small tip from us, walk 100 meters further. You can enjoy delicious food there. Prices on the receipt did not match the prices on the drinks menu. All in all a disappointment And if you had already finished your meat yesterday, you could have immediately bought new ones from the wholesaler or from the butcher or, if necessary, from the supermarket...

W restauracji byliśmy w grupie sześciostopniowe z dzieckiem na kolacji . Zanim kelnerka odebrała od nas zamówienie dala nam do zrozumienia ze mamy szybko wybrać menu i musimy opuścić lokal. Bardzo małe menu ,brak zup i starterów. Sznycle małe i odgrzewane ziemniaczki pieczone ociekające tłuszczem a surówki podane wszyscy dostali takie same tj trochę sałaty marchew i pomidorek polane sosem .Brrrr wstrętne. Atmosfera nie miła, nie polecamy . Dzień wczesniej bylismy w restauracji wloskiej bardo blisko , pyszne steki, przystawki a właściciel ugościł nas jak prawdziwy Włoch. Niech wlasciciele zastanowią się czy warto iść na masówkę czy na jakość bo ceny mają wysokie stosunkowo do jakości jedzenia .

Once inside, we have to order quickly because a group of 25 people is arriving. What a letdown. You go out to eat for a nice long meal, not for a quick bite. A typical us knows our restaurant, where acquaintances are drawn to and treated very differently. They are served at their beck and call. One of us wanted to order a children's menu because he was not very hungry. No, this was absolutely not possible because that person is an adult. In my opinion, the customer is king and should certainly not feel obliged to order a large meal from the waiter. Everyone got shots after dinner and we got nothing. In addition, the hostess who serves everyone is very unfriendly. She only thinks about money and not about the customers themselves. No see you later for us!

We were there with children and grandchildren. From the start it was a great atmosphere. The loving interaction with our grandchildren was particularly fantastic. Oh, yes, we ate there too. I'm honest. I would have given it 5 stars before I even saw the food! Our daughter has a milk protein allergy and it was dealt with so well and the general friendliness that was shown to her... Simply fantastic!! Oh yes, there was still the food. It was soooooooo delicious... The steak was perfect medium-rare and the side dishes were also amazing. I can really recommend everyone to eat there. My daughter (5) also said I wanted to go there again, they were so nice! Thank you for the great evening! I haven't had such a nice restaurant experience in a long time.

Im Sauerland aufgewachsen kenne ich so einige gute und weniger gute Lokale und die Nikolausklause (Kartoffelhaus) in Olsberg gehört zu den herausragenden Lokations für einen gemütlichen Abend und leckeres Essen. Und so ist es kein Wunder, dass wir nunmehr fast schon zu den Stammgästen gehören und immer mal wieder hier einkehren, wenn es uns ins Sauerland verschlägt.

War heute mit meiner Familie dort zum Essen. Das Essen war eine Katastrophe Fleisch war nicht gewürzt und viel zu trocken, die Schnitzel schmeckt nicht frisch gemacht sondern wie aufgewärmt die Paprika schmeckte nicht frisch gemacht sondern wie aus dem Glas. Noch mal werden wir dieses Restaurant nicht besuchen.

We were kindly able to eat here without a reservation after being turned away from another restaurant. At first they said no when we asked over the phone, but then they kindly offered us a table. The food was very tasty, the service was good. We had already been told beforehand that we should be patient and it took a while, but of course that was announced. Two tables remained empty throughout our stay.

Alles Bestens! Für hatten zu dritt drei verschiedene Gerichte, alle waren sehr lecker und zu empfehlen. Sehr freundlicher und schneller Service. Die Chefin kümmert sich persönlich um ihre Gäste. Ich gebe 5***** für alles und wir kommen schon bald wieder.

Die Bedienung war sehr nett und bemüht. Aber das Essen: Kroatisches Durcheinander auf dem Teller! Wer hat schon mal eine Ratatouille mit Tomatensuce (Ketchup) und mit Käse überbacken gegessen??? Oder ein mit Käse überbackenes Schnitzel? Das anschließende Sodbrennen war gratis… Der Verdauungsschnaps anscheinend nur für spezielle Gäste, nicht für alle…

Es war wieder einmal ein schöner Abend bei Betty. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend. Es ist alles sehr familiär und gastfreundlich. Jederzeit wieder

Wat een fantastisch restaurant! We konden zomaar terecht met ons gezin van 7 pers. Terwijl het best druk was! We wilde graag allemaal een schnitzel bestellen wat op dat moment niet op de kaart stond. Dit heeft de eigenaar keurig geregeld. En het was super lekker!! Echt genoten. We wisten niet wat het zou gaan kosten, maar dat viel reuze mee!! Helemaal top!!

Der Balkanteller war von der Menge sehr überschaubar und die Qualität war, sagen wir mal Imbissniveau. Schade, habe mir mehr von versprochen.

Hoewel het vol was bood de eigenaresse ons diverse opties. Wachten tot er een plekje was. Alvast starten met eten aan de bar of het meenemen naar ons hotel (overkant). Wij besloten om vast te starten aan de bar en te verhuizen als er plek was. Het eten was nog het kerstmenu vermoedt ik, maar het was heerlijk. Vlotte bediening en gezellige sfeer. Zaak is wel aan modernisering toe, staat echt propvol met prullaria. Wij hebben een prima avond gehad en komen zeker een keer terug

Hier voor de vierde keer gegeten. In tegenstelling tot de voorgaande bezoeken was het nu 'echt' slecht. De uiensoep leek qua smaak op een maggieblokje met water en de twee stukje, afkomstig van wellicht een zacht broodje kon het geheel niet opvrolijken. De beloofde gratinatie met kaas hebben wij niet terug kunnen vinden. De salatteller was dit keer erg klein. De hoofdgerechten waren redelijk tot goed, al waren de biefstukken dit keer minder mals dan dat we gewend waren. De dubbele espresso en drie capuchino's waren de slottelleurstelling van dit diner. De espresso was gewone 'zwarte' koffie en daardoor nog wel te drinken, maar de capuchino's waren geheel verwaterd. Na over al deze zaken ons ongenoegen te hebben geuit werd gezegd dat zij al had ontdekt dat de uiensoep niet goed, i.c. niet lekker smaakte en dat de mislukte koffies te wijten waren aan een slecht of soms niet goed funtionerende koffieautomaat. Men erkende de voornoemde problemen en heeft, uit eigener beweging, de 'missers' niet in rekening gebracht, en… dat vonden wij wel sportief. De conclusie is wel, enfin; vult uzelf maar in.

Das Essen war top und die Chefin superfreundlich. Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Wir waren während unseres Kurzurlaubs in diesem gepflegten Restaurant mitten in Olsberg. Das Restaurant ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Gerichte haben alle interessante Namen. Was wir uns aus der Karte ausgesucht haben, schmeckte sehr gut. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bei unserem nächsten Sauerlandbesuch werden wir auf jeden Fall hier wieder einkehren. Verdiente fünf Sterne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sehr freundliche Besitzer, kinderlieb, sehr gutes Essen. Es wurde sofort von Anfang an darauf hin gewiesen, dass es mit dem Essen etwas länger dauert da sehr viele Gäste da waren. Trotz der vielen Leute waren alle sehr nett und unsere Kinder haben sogar Spiele und etwas zu malen bekommen um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken. Würden wir jederzeit wieder hingehen.

Meine Familie liebt das Kartoffelhaus. Wir lieben die gemütliche Atmosphäre innen und den Biergarten draußen. Wir kommen immer unangemeldet und sitzen am liebsten draußen, da wir immer mit Hund kommen. Trotzdem mussten wir nie lange warten. Die Bedienungen sind nett, nehmen sich die Zeit persönlich zu werden und aufmerksam. Man bekommt einen Schnaps aufs Haus, die Kinder bekommen Malsachen und Spielsachen und am Ende auch Schokoriegel. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, leider nicht viele vegetarische optionen. Die Klause ist und bleibt unser Favorit um was trinken zu gehen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Getränken und die Theke ist mitten im Geschehen, man wird schnell bedient.

Waren heute Abend spontan beim kleinen Kartoffelhaus essen und wir sind begeistert! Sind noch kurz vor Küchenschließung eingetroffen und wurden sehr herzlich bedient, was so kurz vor knapp nicht üblich ist. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionen sehr großzügig und schön angerichtet. Es ist super sauber und ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen! Super Restaurant wir sind spontan mit 4 Personen hin und haben direkt ein Tisch bekommen obwohl der Laden super voll war. Die Bestellung ging Ruck zick und auch extra wünsche der Kinder waren kein Problem. Das Essen war schnell und für alle gleichzeitig da und super lecker. Die Preise sind auch super und man wird satt. Edit: Heute zum 2. mal da gewesen sehr herzlich begrüßt worden und die Kids haben ihre Sonderwünsche bekommen für unseren Junior wurde sogar ein Burger erfunden weil er einen Burger essen wolltet so gut haben wir lange nicht gegessen echt super danke für den tollen Abend😘

Wir waren mit 6 Erwachsene 2 Kinder und 1 Hund im kartoffelhaus Essen. Die Speisekarte war überschaubar aber das Essen sehr lecker:) Was uns aber in Erinnerung bleiben wird war die Wirtin. Sie ist ein Schatz! Superfreundlich und absolut Kinderlieb. Direkt als wir ankamen wurde Spielzeug rausgebracht, den ganzen Abend über wurde mit dem 2 jährigen gescherzt und dann hatten wir auch noch eine spontane Babysitterin für unsere 2 Monate alte Tochter damit wir in Ruhe essen konnten ❤️ vielen Dank für alles, wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder 😀

Warum das Restaurant Kartoffelhaus heißt, verstehe ich nicht ganz. Ich habe mir das anders vorgestellt. In der Gaststube ist es ganz gemütlich. Die Auswahl auf der Karte ist nicht riesen groß aber es findet bestimmt jeder was. Der Service war super und das Essen gut. Was will man mehr. Kartenzahlung (Girokart, keine Kreditkarte) ist möglich, aber begeistert war man nicht.

Super leckeres Essen ❤️ in einem sehr gemütlichen Ambiente. Sehr sauber und sehr gepflegt. Ein richtig schöner Biergarten in ruhiger Atmosphäre. Die Chefin des Hauses ist sehr sehr nett und hat immer ein Lächeln für Ihre Gäste. Auch den Koch durfte ich kurz in seiner Küche besuchen. Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so eine saubere Küche gesehen. 👍 Auch für einen Mittwoch war das Restaurant sehr gut besucht und ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so einen schönen Abend gehabt. Haben nur etwas getrunken. Sehr nett, faire Preise. Ein sehr guter und voller Aperol Spritz für 5,50 Euro. Und toll, dass Montags offen wenn alle anderen zu haben!
