Night Kitchen in Berlin

We waited 20 mins+ for a table and the hostess kept saying a few minutes each time we asked. Ultimately we just left as we asked 3 or 4 times and one time she even forgot we were waiting. We were also ignored completely for the first 5 minutes.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Treat yourself to the meal with friends. Every time a new plate came out, I said “that was my favorite bite of the meal.” But then the next was my new favorite and the next and the next. Truly exceptional food and very friendly and welcoming service. If you’re in Berlin, this is a must stop place.

I highly recommend getting the dinner with friends. We got to try so many things on the menu we otherwise may not have tried. Spresso beef is life changing. Service is amazing, Lucas (bar tender/host) was so helpful in explaining everything and creating a menu that fit perfectly for me and my friend.

We had a voucher—we probably wouldn't have come without it. The food was really very good! We ordered a la carte, which the waiter wasn't particularly enthusiastic about. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed by the amount of food, which I suspect is due to the "dinner with friends" concept. We were served by everyone and no one, and sometimes we had to ask again to get our order. The interior was nice, but the seating was cramped. It was a bit too noisy for my liking. It was an interesting culinary experience, but I don't think we'll be back. Maybe they're not trendy enough 😉

We had the "Dinner with Friends" menu, and everything was absolutely delicious! The only downside that makes me not recommend it to everyone is that the service was a little too fast given the quantity of dishes offered. I wasn't able to fully enjoy the meal, and the last few bites were more than laborious. The included drinks aren't exceptional either.

We had the surprise menu for €60 per person, which allowed us to try a wide variety of dishes. We were able to express our individual preferences, and allergies were also taken into consideration. It was very good and very varied. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, atmosphere and people.

Wow. Just wow. This place is absolutely amazing. Every dish we had felt like the best we’ve ever had. Three of us split the Spresso'Beef (#1 fav), Amba Chicken, and Arayes (#2 fav) which was perfect. I’d say 3 dishes plus a dessert was the right amount of food for us. Would love to come back and try the personalized menu (preferably when I’m not paying haha). The chocolate fudge was to die for and the atmosphere was absolutely stunning and cozy. Service was pretty great. Overall so glad we stopped in and will be coming back the next time I’m in town.

Absolutely incredible meal, service and atmosphere. We came here for our 8th wedding anniversary and did the dinner with friends option. It was busy and still all the staff made the experience amazing and had all the time for every single customer. I'll think about the pork ribs, lamb and beef kebab and Spresso'Beef for a long time to come!

It's not only the best restaurant in Berlin, it also has the best vibe, the waitress there was so accommodating, the concept of food sharing - spot on! They know how to do it! Highly recommended.

The all-can-eat menu is worth it

We dined in the garden, in the care of the kind Franka. The setting is simply romantic, in a hidden and flowery courtyard in the heart of central Berlin. Everything was absolutely delicious! The corn, the eggplant, the homemade bread, the hummingbird, and a real favorite was the pistachio dessert (Beirut Night). Extremely tasty, seasoned, very gourmet and fresh cuisine. Generous and explosive cuisine. A true delight, made possible by an absolutely charming and adorable staff. The service is efficient and attentive. Vegans and veggies are (very) welcome!

Disappointed by service and menu

Night Kitchen has a warm and inviting atmosphere, the kind that just makes you want to stay all evening. The Mediterranean-inspired dishes are colorful, delicious and perfect for sharing 🍽️. The place is stylishly decorated but remains relaxed and effortless, and the staff really makes you feel at home. A great place for a nice dinner – with friends or alone. Highly recommended for food lovers who also love the atmosphere.

There were eight of us and we had the "Dinner with Friends" option, which included drinks. We really enjoyed all the dishes. Our favorites were the ribs, the cauliflower, and the eggplant. ☺️

Very tasty exceptional food and nice service in the beautiful backyard

Personally, I can't say how these stars came about. I think it's fake. Not only did we wait a long time for our food, but the price/performance ratio was absolutely insufficient, far too expensive in comparison. On top of that, there was this condescending, arrogant attitude toward my boyfriend. I don't know if it's because he's black or simply because the waiter was having a bad day. As a customer, you don't feel comfortable here.

Aside of the food being incredible, it's rare to get a tasting menu of this class for such a fair price. The menu was curated to our likings by the friendly and competent staff and we were served as much food as we wanted until we were full, and we were very full, because every single dish was beautiful. The Challa is amazing - hot, fresh. The desserts were just as good as the main courses. Do not miss out on this place.

A new discovery worth visiting. The food, the ambiance, and especially the surrounding courtyard with all the small shops are a must-see. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a small house with a winter garden and outdoor seating, as well as rooms upstairs.

Excellent restaurant, excellent food with a Middle Eastern twist. We had several dishes, all excellent: Amba chicken, beef tartare, Arayes, artichoke hearts, beetroot salad, and finally pudding for dessert. Truly one of the best restaurants we tried on our trip, and wonderful trips in general. The service was very attentive and informal, and the atmosphere was truly pleasant.

Reservations and reception went smoothly and were very well organized. We were immediately asked if everyone spoke German, so we were given the appropriate menus. The waitresses weren't fluent in German, or only after special requests, and they were more or less proficient. It was almost impossible to understand WHAT was being served. The dishes were very tasty, but in many cases, it was a guessing game. Even in Berlin, guests can expect that English isn't necessarily the "official language." There were three of us and we each chose the €60 set menu. For a total of seven different, shareable dishes plus two desserts, this came to €180 (without drinks). That's quite steep considering the size (or smallness?) of the plates. They were just ordinary breakfast plates, and the dishes presented had to be shared. Okay, we were full. But this could certainly have been achieved with less money. The variety and creativity were great!! Overall, the language/staff and value for money spoiled the experience. We had it, but we don't need it again.

The food is exceptionally plentiful, delicious, and tastes pleasantly different from the usual. The young team impresses with their great friendliness and warmth. The only downside: the noise level is quite loud, as sound travels strongly.

Actually (it felt like) 3.5 out of 5. We sat outside in the beautiful garden and had the vegetarian version of the sharing menu, including drinks. It's easy to do once, but in my opinion, it's not really worth repeating. Ambience: The setting in the Heckmann-Höfer is idyllic. The decor is harmonious, with an eye for detail. The seating is relatively close, but still okay. Food: 4/5. Of course, given the price, it's not fine dining, but still good overall. The bottom line is, this is also a matter of individual preference. Some dishes were truly exceptional (my personal favorites are the eggplant cloud and the grilled broccoli), while others were more average. Overall, many of the vegetable dishes were a bit too soft for my taste. Service: 3/5. Friendly and personable, but the flow was somewhat rushed and geared towards mass production. This isn't a criticism of the staff personally, but rather of the concept. You can tell they're trying to squeeze in as many guests as possible in one evening. We were repeatedly told how much time was left, and then the bill was placed on the table without being asked (even though there was still time until the next table was occupied). Value for money: Top-notch. A menu of this size, including drinks, for only €75 per person is truly a statement. No one should go home hungry or thirsty. We were also asked several times if we wanted anything else to eat or drink, but then we simply had to surrender.

I must say Night Kitchen in Heckmann Höfe was probably one of the best restaurants in Berlin I have ever eaten before. The quality and the taste of the food was absolutely excellent. And such a lovely staff who knows how to make the place even better.

We had the Dinner With Friends menu for four people. The service was excellent and attentive! We were able to order the menu with or without a drink option without any problems. The food was great and it has immediately become one of our favorite restaurants. Definitely a highlight in Berlin!

The food was quite disappointing. Do not recommend. The salad had no lemon in it (the sweet potato meal). For the press beef, it was very fatty, and the mashed potato balls were very dry. They did ask us how we could get compensated and offered a dessert, but at this point we just wanted to pay the bill and leave. The bread with tahini was very good.

We were at Night Kitchen Berlin yesterday – and it was simply fantastic! From the very first moment, we were impressed by the open, rustic atmosphere in the Heckmann Höfe: warm, inviting, and perfect for a communal dining experience. The service was outstanding – super friendly, attentive, and always there with a smile. Every employee seemed enthusiastic and professional: it's precisely this hospitality that makes the visit unforgettable. The food – a dream! We tried the following dishes: 1. Pulpo Surf & Turf: tender octopus with merguez ragù, sesame yogurt, and grilled vegetables – fantastically complex in flavor. 2. Pork Ribs: juicy, maple-soy glazed baby ribs with chili carrot cream – sweet, slightly spicy, and wonderfully tender. 3. Arayes: grilled skewers of seasoned ground beef and lamb, served on a tortilla with tahini and tomato sauce – savory and spicy, and perfect for sharing. 4. Aubergine Clouds (Aubergine Clouds/Aubergine Steak): fluffy eggplant with tahini, bulgur, pomegranate, and herbs – light, aromatic, and exceptional. Each dish was creatively composed, using the finest local ingredients – exactly what the kitchen concept promises: modern Mediterranean sharing plates, family-style. Conclusion: An evening full of enjoyment, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

Such good food in a lovely location! Opted for just ordering single menu items as I was with a bit of a picky crowd, and my only complaint was that the service wasn’t as quick as those who had chosen the “dinner with friends”. All of the dishes were so fresh and flavorful — everything was delicious! Definitely get the challah “bagel” with the tahini + pickled veg — it was the highlight of the meal. Also ordered the tartare, broccolini, cauliflower, amba chicken, and pork ribs. Everything was truly unlike anything I’ve ever eaten!

This is one of the best places I’ve been in Berlin. The food is amazing, the quality of the ingredients it’s very high. Very cozy atmosphere, and a big plus is the staff, they are lovely! Very attentive and always checking if we needed something else. Definitely a place that I’ll visit again!

We had a delicious dinner this week at Night Kitchen! We sat at the bar inside which, if you have long legs might mean you need to sit at an angle, but was otherwise comfortable. Note that there is no air conditioning inside. We showed up a little early for our 7:15 reservation and they were not yet busy. Because we were early, we had the option for the 2.5 hr "Dinner with Friends" even though we booked the 2 hr a la carte experience. We went with the friends dinner. OMG there was so much food! After sharing our dietary preferences, our server customized a dinner for us. Out first course considered of 4 diff small plates, 2nd course was 3 more small plates, and we couldn't go on for a third course, we were too full. But we tried 3 different desserts, the bread pudding was amazing! If you're hungry, dinner with friends is the way to go, as they will just keep bringing food until you cannot eat anymore! That's all for the one price of 60€ so quite the value. Our servers were all so delightful and friendly. By sitting at the bar we also got to talk to some friendly other travelers. I would definitely return!

What a fun place to eat. The staff are so friendly. The food was delicious…espresso beef was so tender; the ribs just melted off the bones; also loved the shrimp, the bread+hummus, the artichoke and burrata were all great. Nice wine selection and price. Very cute location.

We tried the vegetarian sharing menu, which included drinks, and were not disappointed. At the beginning, we were asked about our preferences and intolerances. Then, hot and cold dishes gradually arrived to share. The many different dishes were varied and delicious. The truly attentive service rounded off the experience. We were repeatedly asked if we wanted more drinks, empty plates were cleared, and the table was even cleaned several times. The only criticism for a restaurant that has been operating in Berlin for several years: many of the servers only speak English. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended. Advance reservations are essential to secure a table.

The experience was incredible! I opted for the Dinner with Friends option, which is perfect because you don't have to worry about choosing what to order. The selection of dishes is excellent. This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Berlin and probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The service was impeccable, and the price is very fair. The vegetarian dishes were especially tasty. I highly recommend it and would definitely return anytime.

We were initially offered a table outside, 'on the plaza' (despite having made a reservation months ago). We didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it. However, we were given a table for two next to the bar. Inside, the atmosphere is really great. The service is very friendly and attentive. Each server has their own stylish look. The food is really good, with plenty of dishes and a variety of dishes. The drinks were delicious. The prices are reasonable considering the quality and the location in the city center.

It’s a brilliant restaurant for the food and the portions are fantastic- bold and filling. I totally recommend this restaurant, fabulous and definitely the foyer is my favourite place to sit. I only wish they had served wine in wine glasses, which I requested but the lady said they don’t have stemmed wine glasses, which I could clearly see at the bar through the window, so saint appreciate being lied to. I would recommend their total menu - they have a friends menu

Very ordinary food considering the price. The beetroot and goat cheese salad was, in contrast to the other dishes, really good. This would be good if you're after somewhere fashionable with influencers, style and vibe. But not so good if you're looking for excellent food.

The Night Kitchen has been my favorite restaurant for years. I've told many of my friends about you and even brought business associates. But yesterday's experience (on my birthday) was a huge disappointment. First, the challah... the price has gone up significantly, and now instead of the incredibly delicious braided bread, you get a dry bread with far too much sesame (I hate sesame seeds). Then the main course - before, challah and the main course were enough to fill you up. Now I wondered why I was only getting appetizers. Even with the far too expensive dessert, I went somewhere else to eat. During that time, I wasn't even asked once whether I enjoyed my meal. Even the small, delicious shots on the house, which always made you feel truly welcome, were only handed out to the table next to us. Instead, after 1.5 hours, we were asked to finish soon because the next reservation would be coming soon. Even when we paid, the bill was slammed down on us without so much as a comment.

The meal started with their own-made sesame bread — fresh from the oven, warm, and crusty with a nutty aroma that’s absolutely addictive. It set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Here are my fave so far: Ceviche– A zesty, citrusy burst of freshness that woke up the palate. Fried Cauliflower– (perhaps my favorite!) Crispy and golden on the outside, soft on the inside, with a sauce that took it to the next level. Surf and Turf (Octopus & Sausage)– An unexpected pairing that worked perfectly. The octopus was tender and smoky, the sausage rich and flavorful. Amba Chicken– Tender chicken infused with the sweet-sour flavors of amba sauce—comforting and delicious. Lamb Chops with Beans– Juicy, tender lamb and creamy beans that brought a touch of rustic comfort. Sweet Potato & Parsley– Earthy, sweet, and brightened up with fresh herbs. Will definitely go back to try all other dishes! The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Every dish reflected a focus on quality ingredients and a genuine passion for creating memorable food. One of the best restaurants in Berlin!

Everything here is craft, and its AMAZING. The drinks are well thought out, and go down easily. The house made liquor is tasty, and leaves you wanting more. The food is delicious, and very quickly disappears from your plate. Everything we tried we loved.

Not only is the food diverse, plentiful, and mouth-watering, but the vibe in the place is something truly special. The servers are lively, cheerful, and interact with the guests in a very approachable and fun way. Delicious schnapps help build connections and pamper guests. A top experience for something special 🙂

Whilst waiters and waitresses zip around you can but only waddle as you are stuffed with increasingly delicious Mediterranean fair. Dinner with friends is phenomenal. Sit at the bar and let Lukasz take care of you.

Delicious food and great ambiance

We did the dinner with friends option and got more than we could eat. Good value and good drinks. I would probably skip the included drinks option €15pp more since they were pretty slow with refills. I don’t drink alcohol and had a ginger beer, but was never offered a refill. The sesame bread resembling a bagel was fantastic.

Superb location, food and people.

The food was simply mind blowing! A cute restaurant with great decor and vibes tucked away in a small courtyard, this place is a must visit if you are looking for amazing Mediterranean fusion fare. We had the burrata for appetizers and the shrimp for mains and everything was simply heavenly. We also got the chocolate fudge and bread pudding for dessert and they were simply heavenly decadent. The cocktails were quite average for the price. The service definitely needs improvement, the staff quite literally kicked us out in an hour because they wanted to give the table to someone else.

We took the friends dinner deal with free wine and beers. We were a little disappointed with the dishes. They weren't bad, we just expected more after having a blast in Israel and Amsterdam. We didn't feel the value for money was high this time. 75 euros for a meal that honestly is worth less.

We arrived quite late (10:30 p.m.), which was evident from the chefs' faces. We still got a nice spot upstairs. The service staff couldn't or didn't want to communicate in German. The food was delicious. High-quality vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere was cozy. Recommended only for those with English skills.
