The buffet was okay. Nothing special, but mostly edible (the crispy duck was too crispy and sometimes too greasy). The coffee machine didn't have milk (it only gave black coffee). The ice cream had ice crystals... The chocolate fountain wasn't chocolatey. And so on and so forth. The selection was generous, but not mostly delicious. The atmosphere was very loud and crowded. The restrooms were clean.

Too many visitors. Some dishes didn't taste good. We've found many other Chinese restaurants to be better.

We went to the "all-you-can-eat" buffet at the "New Phönix" in Emden (Dollart Center) on Saturday, October 21, 2023, around 8:00 PM. The "food" there was barely average (2.5 stars), the "service" was abysmal (actually 0 stars), and the "ambience" had a cafeteria feel (actually 0 stars). Some buffet areas were no longer available because food was insufficiently refilled or not replenished at all (another major negative!!!). When we paid the bill around 10:00 PM, we were charged an outrageous €63.00 (Sunday and public holiday rate) instead of the permitted €59.00 (for two people). The staff there is extremely unfriendly and inattentive!!! All in all, we are very disappointed and will definitely never come back!!! Holger Haake

Top Chinese restaurant. Very large selection, whether at the buffet, freshly prepared, or à la carte. Always very friendly service. Very fair prices.

These prices are amazing. Can't be topped. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. We visited for the first time because friends recommended it. We didn't regret it for a second. We'll be going there more often from now on.

Rude staff. If you're planning on picking up something here using the Too Good To Go app, I strongly advise against it. For €10, you get two small bowls that are barely big enough for a decent meal, even though the app tells you to order two bags. Furthermore, the older man at the front desk doesn't seem to care much about his job and seems to want to get rid of you as a customer as quickly as possible. The food isn't bad, but I'd advise everyone to try other restaurants serving Asian cuisine.

The two of us ate there. The food was okay. What bothered us was that we still had half-full drinks on the table, so we went to the dessert buffet to get some ice cream. When we returned five minutes later, our drinks had been cleared away and the table had been re-set. Now we were standing there with dessert and didn't know what to do. It was almost like being kicked out.

Went here for dinner with the family today because I was in the mood for Asian food again. The service was friendly and quick, but seemed a bit hectic. They immediately asked us about the children's ages, but we wanted to eat à la carte. Overall, we were satisfied with the food, but I have to add that nothing really blew us away. Unfortunately, the cliché "if you know one, you know them all" applies here. I found the drink prices to be above average (a Coke for €4 is pretty steep). But that's almost standard everywhere these days. The portion sizes also varied considerably. I had the beef with onions. I would have preferred a bit more meat and less onions here. But that's just my subjective opinion. The two girls had fish. There was a really good amount on their plates. Then we had noodles with chicken and vegetables. It was a portion that could easily have been packed into a noodle box. Too bad... I had hoped for more.

Good and tasty food, very friendly staff, fair price-performance ratio, would gladly go again.

Today was our first time at the New Phoenix, and we weren't disappointed. There was a truly huge selection of food and drinks, with something for everyone. There were also Haribo and lollipops for the kids, and as many fortune cookies as you could want. Everything was simply fantastic. Everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly and hard-working. The value for money was right. I highly recommend it.

The owner is very friendly and even cracks jokes. The food is very good, and they keep refilling it.

Unfortunately, the food was once again very disappointing. We actually thought three times about whether we actually wanted to go there, but decided to give it another chance. The sushi rice was inedible. It was so hard, so thick, a real lump. The fish on top is sliced so thinly that you can hardly notice it when you eat it. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with quality. Since most of the food is deep-fried, we were looking forward to the freshly prepared food that you can put together yourself. There, too, we were disappointed to find that the selection was very limited and the food was completely overcooked; you couldn't chew it. Exceptions do happen, but unfortunately, that was the case for all of us, and there were 7 of us!!! We even mentioned it to them directly, but they just dismissed it. They're all about people paying a lot for poor quality. This was definitely our last visit!!!

There's everything you can imagine. Ready-made meals, a buffet where you can put together your own food and have it cooked, and plenty of drinks are available. There's plenty of dessert, and you can move around and help yourself. If we're in the area, we'll stop by again.

All you can eat and drink! I've never experienced anything like it. On our weekend trip to Emden, I was craving Chinese cuisine, preferably a buffet. That's exactly what we found at the New Phönix. There were ready-made meals, but also the option to choose your own raw ingredients and have them freshly prepared. We only saw the salad and sushi bar in passing and marveled at it. We were already full by then. The dessert buffet was also a dream for me. Two chocolate fountains (one with white), ice cream, jelly, various cakes and sweet pastries, fruit, Haribo, and fortune cookies. The selection of drinks was also huge. We were absolutely thrilled and ended up 5 kg heavier 🤣.

I'm not really a fan of "big-box Chinese restaurants." However, this restaurant is really great with a great selection, great service, and parking right outside. Even though we live two hours away, we'll be back.

Unfortunately the food at the buffet was cold and it took a long time until something fresh was served. Dessert was okay but I was unlucky with the banana which was completely brown inside and was just too expensive for 35 euros.

I was there during happy hour. The seats were OK. However, the floor was evidence of unbridled gluttony at lunchtime. At least the larger pieces could have been swept away. I had the impression that not all of the food in the display cases was fresh at that hour. It's probably called happy hour for a reason. Evil tongues also refer to it as Rudi's Leftovers... Otherwise, it's one of the usual food temples for the overindulgent.

We visited this Asian buffet-style café and were quite satisfied. There’s a great variety of dishes: a wide selection of hot and cold appetizers, fresh rolls, stir-fries, and much more. We were also pleasantly surprised by the generous assortment of fresh fruits, desserts, and drinks — there’s something for everyone. The food is fresh and tasty, clearly prepared with care. The place is popular, so it can get crowded and noisy, especially in the evening. On the plus side, there’s a large, convenient parking lot nearby with plenty of space, even during busy hours. On the downside, they only accept cash, so be sure to bring some with you. Overall, it’s a great spot for fans of Asian cuisine and those who enjoy variety in their meals.

Too expensive, totally unfriendly and ignorant. Bad food. No allergens listed. Yes, it wasn't like that.

FOOD NOT FRESH. (Shrimp were not fresh) The salmon in prepared dishes was delicious. Drinks to take yourself were poorly replenished. Soup ok.

Upon entering, I also had the pleasure of meeting the waiter/sergeant who didn't even look up from his phone and told me to come back in an hour or two. Arrogant and cheeky—I don't think I need to say more. Well, if the competition is gone, then you probably don't need to score points with performance anymore.

We went to New Phönix on Friday. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all this time. The meat on the Mongolian buffet smelled anything but fresh. And the ready-cooked dishes weren't what you'd expect from Phönix either. It's a shame, because for just under €35, I definitely expected something different.

We went for the buffet this evening, after having been there two years ago – and not being so impressed. Unfortunately, the second attempt wasn't worth it either. 35 euros per person for a buffet that was unfortunately partly cold, for salads that were extremely dry, and for meat that was sometimes rubbery or had shoe soles. Unfortunately, there was no sign of service either, but there were signs everywhere that said "Buffet limited to 2.5 hours" at the entrance, on the menus, and outside the store. The ice cream selection was poor and the scoop was not hygienic. To top it all off, I unfortunately also had a hair in my food. We absolutely wouldn't recommend it, also because the food doesn't taste particularly Asian, but rather European/German. The atmosphere is more like an indoor hall.

It was a very pleasant evening. The food was very good and attractively presented (we had a buffet). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would be happy to come back.

Delicious food. Very friendly. Since we visit East Frisia twice a year, New Phoenix has become a regular stop. The chef always greets us warmly and very kindly.

The price/performance ratio is excellent. The food is delicious, but there could be a bit more variety.

Today, on Mother's Day, I wanted to order two of the same dishes over the phone and pick them up myself. The gentleman on the phone asked what I wanted, but then immediately backtracked and said he couldn't take the order, not even for self-collection. "Today is bad, it's Mother's Day, sorry." 😂😂😂..... OK. That's why I called at 11:00 a.m. According to the flyer, New Phönix also offers their dishes on public holidays and for self-collection. Where is the error now???

“Test meal” for three It was our first time eating here, the journey was 20-35 km. I had called a week in advance and reserved a table and clarified over the phone that we would only decide in the evening whether we would eat from the buffet or choose a dish from the menu. The answer on the phone that we can decide spontaneously is no problem. Yesterday when entering the restaurant, the boss greeted him with the statement: "They eat buffet!" We pointed out that we wanted to decide on this in peace and quiet and were very rudely rejected: there would only be a buffet in the evening. (There is no such information on the internet or on the front door). We were then allowed to think briefly about what we were going to eat and decided on the €35 buffet. (For “map” we would have had to move to a different area.) About the food itself: great selection of ready-made dishes as well as those available at the counter to have prepared. Fresh food, counters clean and tidy. There was a large selection of drinks and you were allowed to bring your own to the table. ;-) In addition to the great food, there is another point of criticism: Opening time until 10 p.m., but the hot food was cleared away at 9:30 p.m. The message was shouted across the room to get dessert now because it would be cleared away then. At 9:40 p.m. the cleaner started wiping next to our table and at 9:45 p.m. we were "friendly" asked to pay. Conclusion: It was the first and last visit to this restaurant for the three of us. (And actually we were looking for a nice place to eat with a group of 12-15 people in June - will be a different place.) It's a shame (because the food itself was so delicious)

All you can eat offer, vegetarian options on offer, there is even a children's menu on site! I can highly recommend the restaurant! There is a great atmosphere here, very tasty food, a large selection of dishes, courteous staff and the price/performance ratio is very good. The buffet is rich and always fresh, warm or cold. There are many varieties for dessert, fruit, ice cream, cakes, as well as a chocolate fountain. Drinks are included in the price if you take the buffet. Really very nice selection. From freshly tapped beer, various wines, to soda, cola, water, etc.

If you like food in a gym, it's great. We personally don't like the location because it's too big and too loud. But the food is great, the staff is very friendly and the price is really reasonable.

Went there for the second time today, the first time 14 days ago with friends. The food is great, the selection is huge. There is something for everyone. The possibility of freshly grilling fish, meat and vegetables is particularly delicious. Cake, ice cream, sushi, snacks for the children and a great selection of drinks. We will come back and again and again.

Nice place with room for improvement at lunch I visited New Phoenix at lunchtime and tried the buffet they offered. Unfortunately the selection was very limited and offered little variety. In terms of taste, the food was okay, but rather plain and without any special accents. What is critical is that some plates at the buffet were not completely clean - a point that significantly spoils the overall impression. On the other hand, the clean tables and the well-maintained sanitary facilities are positive. Overall, a friendly place with a clean atmosphere, but still has room for development when it comes to the buffet offerings and the attention to detail.

Friendliness and, above all, polite behavior are not to be found among the entire staff in this restaurant, but the usher really shoots the bird: At 2.30 p.m., we were the last guests and he suddenly barked at us whether we wanted to spend the night here. Mind you, the store is open until 3 p.m. The price-performance ratio is okay, but we cannot recommend the New Phoenix and in the future we would rather look for restaurants where guests are treated as such.

We were there for lunch with about 20 people. At a long table where you could hardly have a conversation because of the volume. After making the reservation, we asked again by phone whether they also offered vegan food, which was always answered in the affirmative upon repeated inquiries. After we arrived, we asked an employee which things were vegan, whereupon we were told that you could also eat vegetarian food, that you should see for yourself and not stand in line. He couldn't explain everything to us. (Which I personally find unreasonable for a restaurant, regardless of class.) Unfortunately, all we were left with were fries, cucumber slices, tomatoes, fruit... just unprepared food. Very disappointing!!!!! The entire staff was very unfriendly. Never again.

Ate at the “New Phönix” today. As expected, it was quite crowded. We were lucky and got one of the last free tables with four people. So a reservation would be appropriate. The food is delicious and rich. An absolute bonus is the large selection of drinks that are included in the buffet price. A constantly replenished buffet was ensured. The used dishes were always cleared from the table quite quickly. It is really recommended!!!

We've eaten at Phoenix several times and we think everything is very good there. We like it so much that I celebrated my birthday in June with around 45 people.

Was there yesterday for the first and last time. Journey 40 minutes, reserved in advance. There was already a war atmosphere at the entrance. 160 people came out from a wedding party. No reception as everyone was busy clearing the tables. They looked like McDonald's. Had to wait for some time and the staff was very annoyed. When the table was free, there was a fight for those waiting to sit. Everything was full of drink on the chair. Table stuck, floor slippery. We then took a wet rag to wipe it up because I couldn't sit anywhere with light-colored pants. There was plenty of buffet food, but once it was filled the rice and cauliflower were cold. Clearing plates didn't happen at first. Not a friendly word from the staff, rather annoyed. Glasses were simply taken from the table when I wasn't finished yet. Very loud, you could hardly have a conversation. Had something like a canteen instead of a cozy meal. No, thank you, not again.

Since it opened until now (we go there regularly with the family) the price has become €10 more expensive. We always thought it was great that you could eat whatever you wanted at the buffet, everyone has different preferences, but unfortunately both the quality and the selection have decreased somewhat. It is no longer refilled as quickly and the selection is somewhat smaller. We will still come back and continue testing, maybe it's just due to the general situation at the moment. Everyone can have bad days.

It's a shame that the box for to good to go has been reduced in size, otherwise there was still a container for soup etc. included. Now just a mini container... the €5 isn't worth it.

It was our first time eating there. There were enough free parking spaces there. Great ambience, great dishes, something for everyone. And also very child-friendly there. The chocolate fountain was a real highlight. Everything is nicely designed, different tables with options for large or small families. We'd love to come back. Above all, drinks were included and there was a lot to choose from.

We ate there on New Year's Eve. The store was far too crowded and the noise level was far too high. You couldn't even have a conversation. The staff was very friendly.

Totally overcrowded restaurant, loud, very hectic service. This restaurant is not suitable for a relaxed meal. Food quality can be better for the price. Soft drinks are stale from the bottles... some of the bottles are turned upside down, they look like they've been bottled or poured together, plus dirty glasses. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it. We were there on the weekend. Far too many guests in the restaurant, it reminds you of the door opening at 6 p.m. in an all-in hotel and 400 people running to the buffet at the same time... terrible.

The food was very tasty and there was something for every taste. Unfortunately, you are not asked whether you would like to order drinks outside of the flat rate. Lt. The menu also includes wine and beer, unfortunately no longer the plum wine as in the past. Although the buffet is open until 10 p.m. and the restaurant is open until 11 p.m., cleaning and clearing away began shortly after 9 p.m. The smell of cleaning supplies and the sacking atmosphere didn't invite you to linger. It was also cashed in early. The toilet was moderately clean but still ok considering the high user frequency. The female staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the Chinese are very unfriendly and dismissive.

STAFF very attentive and friendly. Attention is paid to cleanliness at the buffet. If something gets spilled, someone comes immediately and cleans it up.

The mussels there were a complete disaster, I threw up for 2 days and had a stomach ache for a long time afterwards. I don't recommend eating there, but the sea fruits etc. are not recommended again!

I can't recommend this restaurant, actually restaurant is the wrong term, canteen would be a better fit. If you just want to have a nice meal, this is the wrong place for you. The food tastes terrible, half raw vegetables, the sauces were full of glutamate. The worst thing is that the food wasn't hot enough and this creates a huge hygiene problem. After about an hour I had a really bad feeling of fullness and I wasn't the only one. Next to me in the toilet the Polar Express thundered through the bowl, I thought it exploded. The service also left a lot to be desired. The best part came when paying, the waiter preferred guests who paid in cash, ignored guests who paid by card, and insulted them because they had the audacity to try to pay with a card. When I was finally able to pay after repeated requests, the waiter said, "Goodbye, never again." Now after 6 hours I still have belching with disgusting greasy aftertaste. Actually, a “restaurant” like this should have to be closed for a variety of reasons. Because of tax fraud, health risks and to save other people from such experiences. I can't recommend the visit, it was definitely my first and last visit to the New Phönix.

A room reserved for 30 people! 24 places have been made available! There is a group of 25 people at the table next to it 6 of us now have to sit separately in the last hole! My parents' 55th wedding anniversary is now coming up...

So. The selection of food is very good and tasty. The ambience is good but loud. The worst thing was the person at the entrance who divided the tables. Such a rude and rude person I haven't had it in any restaurant yet experienced. It wasn't the first time I was there, but several times and almost every time this person was so excited.

Last night was the second time we ate at New Phönix, and unfortunately it was also the last time. Of the 4 adults, three of them were unwell and ate from the buffet, and number four only had sushi. Malaise, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are not the outcome for which I wanted to pay 33.50 per head. The best thing would be money back, but after the unfriendly reception that awaited us yesterday and showed us to the table in a stressed, bad mood despite the children and baby present, we didn't even set foot back in the shop!! ABSOLUTELY NOT ADVISED

Then we were charged while we were still eating and we had to leave the restaurant through the side entrance. That was at 9:30 p.m., officially open until 11 p.m. I won't again...

For the high price of €33.50 for the evening buffet, the food, apart from the soup, was only lukewarm. Service was ok. The boss could have been friendlier.
