I liked ice cream. But 10 cents extra if you take the ice cream in a cup? I've never experienced this in any other ice cream parlor. Is 2 euros/ball not enough?

The prices of €2 for a ball and €2.40 for half/half balls are extortionate. Plus 10 cents per cup. This overhyped ice cream is not that great and worth this price!

It was very close to the riverside in Mainz. There was always a queue in front of it. It was actually a place we stopped by by chance, but we learned that it was a popular place in the region. We liked the ice cream very much, it was very delicious. While we were waiting in line, a staff member came and updated the sign with the ice cream varieties available outside. They change the finished and newly built ones instantly. We were welcomed with a smile. Don't be intimidated by the queue, it moves fast. The price of 2€ for a scoop of ice cream was reasonable. I just couldn't see any place to sit but you can sit outside on benches

It could be something really great based on the location alone, but unfortunately the service really isn't up to the task. I don't want to use the words lazy or slow but it's really below the belt. Definitely changes something.

Located directly on the Rhine opposite the Mallakoff Passage you will find the N'Eis am Rhein shop. On a slow day there is a lot of overflow from other ice cream hungry people, but the wait is worth it. We had a nice chat with those waiting in front of us and discussed the varieties on offer that Sunday. So the waiting time flew by. Wheelchair drivers are allowed to arrive at the exit and place their order there if they are not accompanied. Definitely a must for ice cream fans who are looking for something special... We'll be back...

Unfortunately we didn't like the ice cream at all. It was too sweet and the quality was disappointing. Therefore price-performance does not match!

Best ice cream in Mainz, perhaps in the entire region. At least it's unfortunately rare to find such good ice cream that hasn't been mixed with these "ready-made powders". Unfortunately, the ice cream has become quite expensive these days and you have to pay extra for every “extra” (half/half, cup, etc), but the quality is simply unbeatable. In return you have to accept the long queues and the price. By the way, the spaghetti ice cream is highly recommended (in addition to the daily changing varieties).

I generally think the ice cream is delicious. Ayran wasn't my case but it's a matter of taste. Usually well attended, so plan to wait a bit. Nice location right on the Rhine.

Was able to eat very tasty ice cream in a gluten free waffle. The employee was very friendly and knew the information, contamination was not a problem - the waffle was only touched with the packaging, the ice cream spoon was cleaned extra and ice cream was dispensed from a fresh container. The best ice cream we found in Mainz and the area. Original flavors and this amazing location is right on the river! Perfect for some ice cream and a walk along the Rhein. We liked it so much we went back and bought their kits for making the ice cream at home.

The lady was soo nice here. Yesterday they were about to close and we ran there. My husband told we came from Ingelheim and she let us in. It was 9:02 just about to close. The ice cream was superb, one of the best in Mainz

Really delicious icecream 🍦🍦🍦 they have special flavors like basil-mint or my favorite Milchreis. Be advice there is always a long line, but the Service is quite fast. The wait is always worth it.

The ice cream is okay, nothing special. You have to pay extra for the cup. Not a big selection and small balls. There is much better ice cream in Mainz, for example right at the beginning of the old town, just a few minutes' walk from the Rhine.

It is located close to the banks of the Rhine river, making it an ideal location, especially if you want to buy ice cream and take a walk or spend time sitting on the grass. They serve certain types of ice cream every day. There is usually a queue in front of it. Especially if the weather is good on Saturday, the queue in front of them gets longer. The staff is very attentive and friendly. 2€ each. It is recommended.

Nothing special, the best thing about this ice cream parlor is the location. I had to pay half balls as whole balls (which I unfortunately only noticed later), so 4 balls for 12.80 EUR. The ice cream itself was ok, but definitely overpriced.

N'Eis am Rhein has mega varieties of ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy eating ice cream at N'Eis. For people like me, with health problems who cannot stand, there are simply no places to sit, no chance to buy ice cream faster, simply nothing. The line is always super long and you can't wait for less than 10 minutes. I find that sad...

Quite expensive, but also very tasty and special ice cream flavors. But you should be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially on weekends...

Best ice cream in Mainz! The taste is outstanding and worth every minute in line.

CAUTION! Here you pay €8.80 for two (TWO!) scoops of ice cream - even if they consist of half a scoop each! The prices are only inside, there is no price board outside. With a queue from the sales room across the square almost to the entrance to the arcade, it is quite logical that very few people go without an ice cream after waiting their legs in their stomachs because of the long wait to see the prices. Could one assume malicious intent here? We would rather go to the alternatives in the pedestrian zone than support this store.

We saw a huge queue in front of the Eiscafé, so, we wanted to check it out. And it was so worth it, the ice cream is so creamy and well done! I recommend the milchreis(rice milk) flavour which is unusual but so tasty.

Super delicious ice cream. You can also get 2 half scoops there, which cost €2.20, which is what almost everyone ordered. I hadn't seen it anywhere before. At the weekend we saw a queue of 100m in front of the entrance.

N' Eis is a great ice cream parlor. Unusual varieties, also vegan. Very friendly staff. Best ice cream in the region. My favorites are pistachio and chocolate.

Very tasty ice cream, right on the Rhine 😊

Price at the top, quality and service at the bottom. Asking for a scoop of ice cream for €2 and then it tastes like the cheapest ice cream from the discount store. I had a scoop of eggnog ice cream which didn't taste anything like eggnog and didn't charge 10 cents if you wanted to make a cup of the waffle. Complaints are skillfully ignored by the staff and they don't say hello, never again.

The quality is great, but the consistency is too runny and even at +5 degrees outside temperature it quickly “runs away”. The service seems a bit overwhelmed because there is simply too much on offer that needs to be prepared. Less is sometimes more :)

The prices are too high for me, otherwise I think it's great that they not only offer ice cream but also different types of coffee, waffles, etc.

We were in Mainz for the wine festival and beforehand we got a delicious ice cream from N'Eis. We waited in line for 15 minutes but it was worth it. The ice cream was delicious and the price-performance ratio was right.

Es rentiert sich länger anzustehen, sehr lecker und außergewöhnliche Sorten (und immer auch ein paar Sorten Sorbet).

Das Eis ist von der Qualität echt super gut und schmeckt sehr lecker. Die Vielfalt an Sorten gefällt mir sehr gut. Einzig und allein die lange Schlange stört ein bisschen, aber da kann N'Eis ja nichts dafür. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

hier bekommt man wirklich leckeres Eis. Teilweise muss man dafür jedoch ewig lange anstehen. Nicht immer lohnt sich wirklich der Zeitaufwand dafür. Es ist eine witzige Idee und schön, dass man, um mehr zu probieren, halbe Kugeln auswählen kann. Dazu passt auch die Idee, eine halbe Sahne nehmen zu können. Ich komme gelegentlich sehr gern wieder.

Geschmacklich rundum überzeugendes Eis, dabei werden auch mal etwas andere und ungewöhnlichere Sorten als 'Schoko, Vanille und Erdbeer' angeboten, die auch regelmäßig wechseln. Sehr freundliches Personal, große(!) Kugeln und dafür gehen die Preise absolut in Ordnung. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Tolles lokales Eis, gutes Konzept. Leider eher unmotivierte Mitarbeiterinnen, die zumindest nicht positiv zum Gesamteindruck beitragen - aber auch nicht unfreundlich.

Lange Schlangen, dauert eine Weile bis man dran ist, lohnt sich aber

Wir haben eine Tischeistruhe bei N'Eis mit 3 verschiedenen Eissorten (Schokosorbet, Himbeere und Pistazie Fleur de Sel) für unsere Hochzeit gebucht. Die Eistruhe mussten wir am Freitag abholen und am Montag wieder zurückbringen, N'Eis bietet keine Anlieferung an, was für uns aber kein Problem war. Das Eis war extrem lecker und kam bei 34 °C bei allen Gästen sehr gut an. Die Eismenge war mehr als ausreichend für 60 Gäste. Mitgeliefert werden ausreichend Eiswaffeln, sowie ein kleiner Aufsteller, auf dem die Eissorten stehen. Lediglich die Beschreibung, wie lange vorher die Eistruhe von hoher auf niedrigere Kühlstufe runtergestellt werden soll, damit das Eis mit dem Eisportionierer entnommen werden kann, hat bei uns nicht ganz gepasst. Es war trotz rechtzeitiger Umstellung noch min 1 Stunde danach zu fest, um es portionieren zu können. Hier würden wir die Truhe beim nächsten Mal einfach etwas früher herunterregeln. Sobald das Eis die richtige Konsistenz hatte, war es super lecker und wir würden jederzeit wieder eine Eistruhe bei N'Eis buchen und können sie uneingeschränkt empfehlen. :)

The chocolate sorbet was the most chocolatey sorbet I’ve had. Like dark chocolate punching you in the face. I tried my husband’s strawberry cheesecake and it was like they took a legit New York cheesecake with strawberries and froze it, chunks and all. Can’t wait to try all the flavours before winter :(

It was very nice looking and the ice itself was good, but from what people had told us it was not as good as “promised”. We were hoping for a cafe with special ice next to the river, but it was just “come-and-go”.
