Good ice cream & English speaking staff. Nice to get ice cream and walk along the river.

A truly highly recommended ice cream shop with homemade, partly vegan, ice cream and very friendly staff. The ice cream is made fresh daily, the flavors are particularly varied, and there's a reusable deposit system for ice cream cups.

Huge queue to wait in line, completely exaggerated, it's just ice cream!

Since I arrived just before closing time today, they didn't have many options. I got the bitter and the brownie. I'd tried the basil one before and liked it. I have to say, I especially liked the bitter one. You might have to wait a bit during busy times. And due to a new law, you have to pay an extra 10 cents for ice cream in a container. This isn't a problem with the business. Since it's located right on the river, you can grab your ice cream and sit by the river for a quick refreshment.

I definitely recommend this ice cream parlor to people on a gluten-free diet. There are plenty of allergen information and gluten-free cones are available for a small additional charge. The staff also seems to be trained in contamination, as they immediately offered to clean the ice cream scoop beforehand—a great experience and very tasty! 😋

One scoop costs 2 euros, which is "normal" these days. But they always have a changing selection of unusual and truly delicious flavors. We'll be back!

N'Eis was the perfect addition to our wedding – the ice cream was not only delicious, but also a real highlight for our guests! The party freezer was incredibly easy to use and looked really cool. Our guests – from young to old – were thrilled with the quality and the creative flavors that were just right for us. Communication with the N'Eis team (especially Mario) was straightforward, friendly, and professional. Everything was just perfect: taste, service, and appearance. We especially liked that the ice cream was regional, natural, and made with lots of love – everyone really appreciated that. The ice cream flavors are creative and delicious. But I've rarely seen employees so slow, unfocused, and poorly trained. This makes the already long queue move even slower. A no-go for me.

Absolutely outrageous! €8.20 for four scoops. Personally, the ice cream tastes rather average. The size of the scoops is completely out of keeping with the price, in my opinion.

Yesterday, there was a long line in front of the ice cream parlor. The wait was worth it. The ice cream was delicious. What I personally love is the option to have two flavors of ice cream mixed into one scoop for an extra 20 cents. There's no seating inside the ice cream parlor, but there are plenty of places to sit nearby (on the riverbank, on a park bench).

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, I bought ice cream here with my family. All the flavors were too sweet. The tonka wasn't strong enough, but it had off-flavors. And the scoop was full of frozen ice drops (see picture), making it quite "crunchy." When paying, we asked if we could have the small, round cone that comes with the sundae for the baby – all we got in response was an annoyed "No." Seriously? For less than a cent each, there's no cone? Even worse was the way it was communicated. Good grief, then just charge an extra 50 cents for it; that wouldn't be a problem.

On a hot summer day, we found this little ice cream parlor, beautifully situated on the Rhine. We'd seen it on the hr television program "Tobi's City Trip," so of course we had to visit it during our visit to Mainz. They have many great ice cream flavors of all kinds, something for every taste. We particularly enjoyed the variety of sorbets we tried. Highly recommended if you're looking for a delicious ice cream treat in Mainz!

Spaghetti ice cream without spaghetti. It didn't come from the typical press that forms spaghetti. A bland vanilla flavor. The ice cream wasn't frozen enough/was very soft. There was also too much cream and it wasn't slightly frozen, as is usual. Therefore, I only ate half of it.

Always delicious ice cream flavors! Lately, though, they haven't been as fancy as usual. The vegan flavors are often very watery. What I really like, though, is that they offer gluten-free waffles, and you can also get two flavors as one scoop for a small surcharge (€2.20 per double scoop). This gives you even more choice. Everyone is always super nice at both branches. ☺️

Totally delicious ice cream, although the price is rather high. A highlight was definitely the marzipan poppy seed ice cream and the fact that you can have the balls made from two different types of ice cream for a small additional charge.

Unfortunately, my experience in Neustadt was disappointing. The scoop ice cream there seemed rather artificial to me - the taste was characterized by aromas, air mass and preservatives and eggs. In comparison, I really appreciate rolled ice cream: it is freshly prepared by hand, is a visual highlight and simply tastes more natural and intense. For me a completely different, much better ice cream experience.

I've been a customer for years. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I spoiled our stomachs yesterday with spaghetti ice cream. It can happen in the catering industry but it really shouldn't, especially since it's not midsummer yet.

I love your ice cream and am always impressed. Now the big BUT! Yesterday I stood in line on the Rhine for over an hour. The first 30 minutes didn't feel like that. After I was halfway there, I really wanted to get my ice cream. After 1.15 hours the time had come. Looking back, very disappointing and not worth it. 3 people 9 balls I'm happy to spend €18, but not if I have to wait that long. I hope you can do it.

Always delicious and exceptional ice cream

I can't understand the positive opinions. N'Eis offers great-sounding and, above all, unusual varieties (e.g. rice pudding/cinnamon, grape...), but if the ice cream simply tastes sweet and has no taste of the advertised aroma, then it is simply not acceptable to me. The balls also vary greatly depending on the employee. My balls were relatively large, those of my companion (which another employee had made) were a lot smaller. If you then consider the price of 2€/ball, another reason not to queue at N'Eis anymore. Unfortunately a disappointment throughout.

The selection is creative, the quality is top, and there are real vegan varieties that taste really good. Not a run-of-the-mill sorbet, but really well thought-out creations. Yes, the lines are long - even at 6 p.m. - but that speaks for itself. And it's worth it every time! I think it's great that paper cups cost extra. This motivates you to think about the environment. If you're in Mainz, you shouldn't miss this!

Fits really well and doesn't differ much in price

The tastiest ice cream ever. Always homemade new flavors that you can't get in any other ice cream parlor. Tried quark/plum and poppy seeds/marzipan yesterday. Extremely delicious. Unfortunately, the “queue” of customers is always a bit long. This means you need a bit of patience. But it's definitely worth it.

The prices of €2 for a ball and €2.40 for half/half balls are extortionate. Plus 10 cents per cup. This overhyped ice cream is not that great and worth this price!

It was very close to the riverside in Mainz. There was always a queue in front of it. It was actually a place we stopped by by chance, but we learned that it was a popular place in the region. We liked the ice cream very much, it was very delicious. While we were waiting in line, a staff member came and updated the sign with the ice cream varieties available outside. They change the finished and newly built ones instantly. We were welcomed with a smile. Don't be intimidated by the queue, it moves fast. The price of 2€ for a scoop of ice cream was reasonable. I just couldn't see any place to sit but you can sit outside on benches

It could be something really great based on the location alone, but unfortunately the service really isn't up to the task. I don't want to use the words lazy or slow but it's really below the belt. Definitely changes something.

Located directly on the Rhine opposite the Mallakoff Passage you will find the N'Eis am Rhein shop. On a slow day there is a lot of overflow from other ice cream hungry people, but the wait is worth it. We had a nice chat with those waiting in front of us and discussed the varieties on offer that Sunday. So the waiting time flew by. Wheelchair drivers are allowed to arrive at the exit and place their order there if they are not accompanied. Definitely a must for ice cream fans who are looking for something special... We'll be back...

Best ice cream in Mainz, perhaps in the entire region. At least it's unfortunately rare to find such good ice cream that hasn't been mixed with these "ready-made powders". The ice cream is okay, nothing special. You have to pay extra for the cup. Not a big selection and small balls. There is much better ice cream in Mainz, for example right at the beginning of the old town, just a few minutes' walk from the Rhine.

It is located close to the banks of the Rhine river, making it an ideal location, especially if you want to buy ice cream and take a walk or spend time sitting on the grass. They serve certain types of ice cream every day. There is usually a queue in front of it. Especially if the weather is good on Saturday, the queue in front of them gets longer. The staff is very attentive and friendly. 2€ each. It is recommended.

Nothing special, the best thing about this ice cream parlor is the location. I had to pay half balls as whole balls (which I unfortunately only noticed later), so 4 balls for 12.80 EUR. The ice cream itself was ok, but definitely overpriced.

N'Eis am Rhein has mega varieties of ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy eating ice cream at N'Eis. For people like me, with health problems who cannot stand, there are simply no places to sit, no chance to buy ice cream faster, simply nothing. The line is always super long and you can't wait for less than 10 minutes. I find that sad...

Best ice cream in Mainz! The taste is outstanding and worth every minute in line.

CAUTION! Here you pay €8.80 for two (TWO!) scoops of ice cream - even if they consist of half a scoop each! The prices are only inside, there is no price board outside. With a queue from the sales room across the square almost to the entrance to the arcade, it is quite logical that very few people go without an ice cream after waiting their legs in their stomachs because of the long wait to see the prices. Could one assume malicious intent here? We would rather go to the alternatives in the pedestrian zone than support this store.

We saw a huge queue in front of the Eiscafé, so, we wanted to check it out. And it was so worth it, the ice cream is so creamy and well done! I recommend the milchreis(rice milk) flavour which is unusual but so tasty.

Price at the top, quality and service at the bottom. Asking for a scoop of ice cream for €2 and then it tastes like the cheapest ice cream from the discount store. I had a scoop of eggnog ice cream which didn't taste anything like eggnog and didn't charge 10 cents if you wanted to make a cup of the waffle. Complaints are skillfully ignored by the staff and they don't say hello, never again.

The quality is great, but the consistency is too runny and even at +5 degrees outside temperature it quickly “runs away”. The service seems a bit overwhelmed because there is simply too much on offer that needs to be prepared. Less is sometimes more :)
