Very nice location for family celebrations with many people. You can cater for yourself or benefit from what the restaurant has to offer.

Wanted to eat there after a long hike. Unfortunately, the disillusionment came when I saw the “no dogs allowed” sign. Well, anyone who calls themselves “nature lovers” and doesn’t allow dogs in the restaurant doesn’t deserve us as customers. Their prices are not that cheap either. We'd rather look for a restaurant where we are welcome with a dog. (Unfortunately, there was nothing about the ban on her restaurant's homepage.)

Catastrophic price-performance ratio. The room is notable for its uncleaned floors and crusty residue on the bedside tables with no identifiable origin; the only thing that seems to be changed here upon new arrival is the bed cover. Even on this, or more precisely on the bed sheet, you can find a few brown spots. The trash can in the bathroom hasn't been emptied, it's filled to the brim with used towels and the like. It is also interesting that a "triple" room includes a double bed and a mattress on the floor, a fact that coincidentally cannot be seen in the pictures provided online (nor does the dirty and smeared red (plastic?) floor). There are only two positive things about the establishment: firstly, that at least you won't be visited by bed bugs and cockroaches during the night. Twice that the view of the lake is very good. If you're willing to spend more than one night here, watching the sunset could be well worth it. At breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., which is included in the price, you will find a - at least diverse - selection of industrial products. In terms of personnel, the establishment appears to be slightly understaffed, as coffee cups, bowls, etc. are regularly missing, even if only for a short time. The staff seems very young. The freshly washed bowls have milky spots. “Water with CO2” looks like a heavily diluted apple spritzer - or extremely calcareous water. It is probably the latter. Breakfast is based on the self-service principle, which means that you get your own food (as usual in any other restaurant). When you're done, you put your used dishes in a cart where you sort them into waste, plates, glasses, cups and cutlery. WiFi is provided free of charge. Overall, I find the above-average ratings very surprising. Apparently there is also a restaurant on offer during the day, with mostly positive experiences. This of course distorts the view of the establishment as an overnight accommodation, as previous reviewers had similar experiences with the rooms. In summary, almost every price paid seems to be too much. Basic hygiene standards are non-negotiable in every price segment. A similar range of services is offered here as in a youth hostel - just at twice the price. Of course, this does not apply to the hygiene standard, which is much higher in many youth hostels. As a final recommendation, I can only suggest avoiding the “Naturfreundehaus” unless you are prepared to accept the listed shortcomings at the given price.

The staff were very friendly and nice, but I found that the rooms were very run down, there were flies and bugs in every corner, and there were blood stains and brown streaks on the bed sheets

Great beach for swimming, especially with children.

Great as a day guest, disappointing as an overnight guest. Price performance are miles apart. We had booked a studio, which in the photos was perfect for a family. But an overbooking happened here and we had to move to a 5-bed room. Rather unsuitable for a family. The bathroom was in the hallway and you would have to share it with your neighbors - luckily there weren't any. Otherwise we would have checked out immediately as it was unreasonable. At this price! 147 per night with breakfast. I come from the hotel industry myself and speak from experience when I say that people have complained about more balanced breakfast buffets. This breakfast was really just the same every day. Watery milk, coffee so-so. Cappuccino for an additional charge for a whopping 3.70 euros! No egg dishes, just the cheapest baked rolls... every now and then there was also bread, which was actually great! Otherwise there was a not so appealing selection of fruit... no cream cheese... no proper muesli for the kids. Normally I look forward to breakfast on vacation - unfortunately we had to add it because of the children. The rooms and especially the bathrooms are not cleaned during your stay. It's unimaginable to have to share a bathroom with strangers! At that price? Gladly again as a day guest. We always went outside for dinner - the prices are neither family-friendly nor appropriate. Lake Constance is not a free pass for usury. There was a shortage of staff............ Overall, a youth hostel that wants to be more? The facility is not maintained and is getting old... We imagined it differently. In fact, the reviews speak for our experiences - great as a day guest, overnight flop.

Conditionally recommended Great house right on the lake with a lot of potential, which unfortunately is not being used. Staff friendly, hardworking and understaffed. Reception rarely staffed, no information about opening times.

The food was consistently delicious, the service was attentive and friendly. The location of the house in the Markelfinger Winkel is uniquely beautiful with a clear view of the Mettnau peninsula. It's a shame that we weren't served indoors, even though the sun was a bit "too good" with 30 degrees in the shade that afternoon.

In the bar area it looks like it's under the sun. It is said that at lunchtime there is only cake and chips. Shortly afterwards, an employee carries a plate of fried fish and potatoes past us. German hospitality nil…

The rooms were very dirty and it felt like they weren't cleaned at all. You had to get the chunks yourself, remove them, clean them in the table and sweep around them. The rooms are very small and the bathroom looks like a prison. There were spiders everywhere, even when we were eating there were spiders running around. The waiters are very perverted. The staff was also generally very unfriendly. It doesn't look like the pictures and is very run down inside and out. It is also very remote - the shorter route from the nearest train station goes through bushes with thorns and mosquitoes on the train tracks. And the longer one lasts about 30 minutes. The only good thing there was that it was right on the lake and you could swim, but the jetty was broken and wasn't repaired even though there were only a few boards missing

Hello, what's going on now? Dog or no dog? Today I was in the meadow with my Maltese dog. Suddenly there was a sign saying “Dogs not allowed” Many good reviews are allowed and welcomed, especially because of dogs.

We were only there to swim, it was very crowded (holiday season), but the meadow is nice with shade and sun and, above all, it's free. You also get food and drinks, so it's worth it.

Rooms and furnishings are getting old. In general the rooms are very small. One suitcase in the room and you have no space. We chose the hotel as a stopover and spent two nights there. In my opinion, these two nights were already expensive. Breakfast was OK but nothing more. The only thing that scored points is the location. Located directly on Lake Constance with a direct jetty to the water. Unfortunately the bridge was broken. So access was blocked. Three four boards were missing and nails were sticking out. I don't understand why this can't be repaired quickly. People still used the footbridge. However, access to the lake and the lawn are not private to the hotel. Anyone can come there and lie down on the lawn. Which isn't a bad thing. Anyone can rent a kayak, canoe and SUP there. The house is reminiscent of a youth hostel but with prices of a good hotel. The house is somewhat remote. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the next train if you take a secret path full of thorns and mosquitoes. This was recommended to us. The normal route takes about 25 minutes. Otherwise you have to drive.

The place is beautiful. Prices are still above average and the condition of running away.

Hello hello :) we just wanted to eat something quick before going swimming. A wedding took place in the upper area and a birthday party in the lower area There was only one service employee downstairs who did his best to rock the place on his own. Food was very, very tasty👍🏻 price performance was perfect.

Unfortunately 0 stars are not possible😡 We were put in a common room even though we had booked a single room! We were only informed of this 2 weeks before!!!

Nice place on Lake Constance, right on the water, service was super nice and the food was very tasty 😋 It's nice that dogs are welcome on the lawn and in the restaurant. Room was nicely furnished, beds were comfortable. It's a shame that dogs are not allowed in the rooms to stay overnight or to visit in the room.

We had a great visit! The space outside with a view was perfect. The reservation went really well and it was pleasantly quiet. The food came quickly and the build-your-own salad bar was a highlight. The burger and fries were excellent, especially the burger which was a little different. Highly recommended!

Had a conference here including lunch, everything went great, location was great, location was great, food was also great, what more could you want.

We visited the restaurant, which was very busy with families because of the nice weather. Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Menu with standard offerings, nothing specifically regional. Samples can be seen all over the paper as stains etc. Unappetizing. Looking at the neighboring tables: the dishes were not nearly as decoratively arranged as in the photos. Visited the toilet 😧 and then decided to go somewhere else. However, the location is very nice right on the lake. You shouldn't rest on your laurels.

Location is great. Well maintained. Children have fun on the playground. Eat good. Staff a little overwhelmed - the only drawback.

Only made it here after an hour in the rain on a bike. Despite soaking wet clothes, it wasn't a problem to warm up here. Drinks, cakes and sausage salad were very tasty. It's certainly a little nicer here in the summer🌞🌞 Nobody can do anything about the weather.

Wir essen hier gelegentlich. Das ist gut, bezahlbar, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich. Die Lage am See ist gigantisch, vor allem auch im Sommer in der Badesaison. Ist auch viel Parkplatz vorhanden und gut per Fahrrad erreichbar.

Wir fahren schon seit mehreren Jahren zum NFH und fühlen uns immer wieder wohl und aufgehoben dort. Für uns geht das Abschalten dann sehr schnell. Alle Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet und sauber mit Blick auf den See. Frühstücksbuffet ist mit Liebe gerichtet und reichhaltig. Auch das Essen von der Speisekarte ist zu empfehlen. Das NFH eignet sich sehr gut für Familien mit Kindern von 0-99 Jahre und besonders wenn Oma und Opa auch mitkommen wollen. 😀 Wir waren über Silvester 2023 dort. Leckeres Essen und ein sehr gelungenes Rahmenprogramm für Jung und Alt. War sehr schön dagewesen zu sein und ein Dankeschön an das Naturfreundehaus Team.

Heute waren wir mit der gesamten Belegschaft essen, und das Menü war bereits vor Wochen festgelegt. Trotz dieser klaren Absprachen gab es leider Unstimmigkeiten beim Essen. Insbesondere wurde mir versichert, dass das Saltimbocca von der Pute auf einem Kräuterrisotto ohne Schwein zubereitet wird. Leider war die Pute mit Speck gewickelt, was nicht nur meine, sondern auch die Erwartungen der anderen Mitarbeiter beeinträchtigt hat. Die Unklarheit bezüglich der Gerichte hat die Stimmung bei unserem Betriebsessen getrübt. Es wäre wünschenswert, dass zukünftige Veranstaltungen besser koordiniert werden. Es ist bedauerlich zu erwähnen, dass die Unstimmigkeiten nicht nur auf die Zubereitung des Gerichts, sondern auch auf die fehlende Deklaration auf der Speisekarte zurückzuführen sind. Das Saltimbocca von der Pute mit Speck war nicht entsprechend gekennzeichnet, was zu Missverständnissen und Enttäuschungen geführt hat. Eine klare und genaue Angabe der Zutaten auf der Karte wäre für zukünftige Gäste und Bestellungen äußerst wichtig.

Wir waren hier, als ein wunderschönes Abendrot gab. Es hat ausgesehen, wie wenn der Himmel Feuer gefangen hat.

Tolles Restaurant für Events oder einfach um mit der Familie, Freunde oder Kollegen zu essen! Am Besten finde ich den Frühstück am Morgen!

Obwohl das Haus sich besonders sozial gibt, Stichwort Alleinerziehenden-Freundlich,Duzen,zeigten sie keinerlei Kulanz:Als wir wegen meiner langwierigen,schweren Verletzung(bei rechtzeitiger Absage,7Wochen vorher)nicht anreisen konnten, behielten sie den angezahlten Betrag ein.Ich kann dieses Haus nicht empfehlen. l

A part que le bâtiment est proche d'une ligne de chemin de fer plutôt passante, le service, les chambres sont très bien.

Lake Constance, great place to go !

Es war ein guter Ort gewesen, wo ich mit meiner Klasse dort war. Mann kann gut Paddeln im See unten, (wenn es nicht Stürmt) essen, und es hat auch öffentliche Kabine zum Umziehen, wenn die Sachen nass sind. Mann kann gut per Fuß hinlaufen, einfach gut gemacht muss ich sagen. Außer das regnen. Aber das können sie nicht daran ändern. Trotzdem war das sehr schön gewesen. Sehr gut war das, muss ich sagen!

Nach einem schönen Ausflugstag auf der Insel Mainau ging's zum Abendessen ins NaturFreundehaus. Es liegt sehr schön direkt am Bodensee, sehr freundlicher Service und das Essen war sehr lecker 😋 Dann zur Abendstimmung auf die Liegewiese setzen und einfach nur genießen 😊 Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Das Restaurant ist gut für ein kleinen zwischen stop um was zu essen z.b. Wurstsalat mit Käse etc. Bedingung sehr freundlich

Toller Platz am Bodensee, guter Kaffee und Kuchen, Personal etwas unflexibel aber dennoch freundlich...

Parkplätze waren bei dem tollen Wetter so voll, aber am Wasser bekam man trotzdem noch einen Schatten Platz 👍 Gut zu parken, und man kommt gut mit Kajak oder boote ins Wasser. Bester Platz wo ich kenne dafür! 😉 Gibt Tischtennis und Volleyball. Toiletten sind auch zugänglich für Badegäste. Auf Balkon kann man schön essen, mit Aussicht auf den See.

Badestelle im Bodensee ohne Parkgebühr, Lokal mit gutem Preis/leistungs Verhältnis. Klo auch gut erreichbar. Da komm ich gerne wieder!

Über das Restaurant: bessere Pommes als in Amsterdam!😍👌 Ketchup und Mayo sind hausgemacht. Andere Essen sehen genauso lecker aus. Das Personal ist nett und das Strand ist auch schön. Und gar nicht teuer.

Ordentliches Lokal mit wunderschönen Blick auf den See. Einfache Speisekarte (Burger, Currywurst, Wurstsalat), aber gut und preiswert. Am Buffet gibt es sehr gute Kuchen. Insgesamt empfehlenswert.

War dort mit dem Motorrad und meiner Hängematte unterwegs. Danke an die zwei sympathischsten Empfangsdamen die es möglich gemacht haben! Es gibt eine schöne Liegewiese am See. Die Sanitären Anlagen am Zeltplatz waren sauber. An das Mädel mit den blauen Haaren: Mach deinen Führerschein, es lohnt sich ;)

Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist spitze und gerade der Service im Empfang und beim Restaurant war sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind entsprechend dem Preis ausgestattet, wobei das Bad mit neuen Fliesen moderner wirkt als der Rest. Die Luft kann in den Zimmern sehr stickig werden, wenn es ziemlich heiß ist. Generell für Familien zu empfehlen!

Über den Service und die Zimmer kann ich zur Zeit noch nichts sagen. War nur zum Schwimmen dort. Aber das Strandbad dort ist super. Viel Schatten, flaches Wasser, Spielplatz für Kinder. Kostenlose Toilette und Dusche.

It’s a Naturfreundehaus so if you are looking for a hotel room like interior and equipment that’s not the case. But the also don’t advertise as such. The shared rooms where clean, equipped with shower, towels, a balcony and closets. I replay enjoyed my stay the staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast the next day was really nice and you could take a seat outside and have a look at the lake.

Very nice place to spend some time with friends. The burger was very delicious, just as I requested it(one can choose from cooked through or medium) and the view from the restaurant terrace is great. Will be back for sure 😊

Kuchen ist sehr lecker. Die Auswahl an Hauptspeisen ist sehr beschränkt (Spaghetti oder Burger). Bei den veganen Burgern wäre es toll, wenn man diese auch als Vegi-Version mit normalen Käse haben könnte. Der vegane Käse ist wirklich speziell.

Ganz toller Ort und super Lokation mit Übernachtungsmöglichkeit und Zugang zum See.

Zwar an heißen Tagen sehr gut besucht, aber trotzdem immer einen Besuch wert. Der Bodensee ist dort sehr lange Flach bis es tiefer wird.

War ok, wie überall scheint Personal zu fehlen. Essen ist lecker, die location sucht seines gleichen. Immer gerne wieder.

Schon seit Kindheitstagen kommen wir hier her mittlerweile mit den eigenen Kindern. Immer wieder wunderschön.
