Namsan Berlin in Berlin

We went there twice, the first time as a couple, and the bulgogi was delicious (around €60), very good. Three weeks later, we made a reservation for 6 people. 2 bulgogi (for 4 people), the meat was divided between the two. Unfortunately, the first time, the meat was chewy with gristle, etc., on the table grill. The pumpkin was inedible and smelled bad. I complained about it. The pumpkin was removed, the waitress was helpless, and then brought the second portion of meat, which was fine. No apology, and no response to my written complaint via email. If, as in our case, there's a Korean woman there who cooks well herself, you can rate it better than the guests who aren't familiar with Korean cuisine. This isn't authentic Korean food. We won't go there anymore!!!

I went to Namsam and had bibimbap there – absolutely delicious and highly recommended! I'd especially like to highlight the owner (I think it was her), who is incredibly warm and friendly. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The decor is also beautiful and cozy, just the right place to feel comfortable and enjoy a relaxed meal. A true highlight in Berlin.

We ordered the bulgogi set for two, and we were so full because it included appetizers like dumplings and tofu kimchi, as well as two plates of meat. 😊 I think I'll be visiting here regularly with my friends from now on. It was so fun to eat bulgogi at the old-fashioned bulgogi plate after such a long time!

The atmosphere is very nice, the food is good, and the service is efficient. We tried the rice cakes and dumplings, and they were truly delicious. The bibimbap and noodles were also excellent. The wait staff are quick, friendly, and always smiling. I recommend making a reservation because the place is small.

absolutely 100% recommend. came here twice already - once with my mum and once with my partner and was blown away not only by the food but also by the kind and helpful service that was attentive but not overbearing. you feel like a treasured and awaited friend when you enter the restaurant but you won’t be crowded during your meal. amazing atmosphere overall too. at peak times a reservation is helpful, but there are seats at the bar available without reservation.

A small but fine restaurant. We had the ocean bibimbap with octopus and the freshly grilled beef bulgogi. Both were excellent and a wonderful experience!

I had a short hair in my soup, very politely communicated it, and received a new one—but without a word of apology or anything like that. I found a nearly identical hair in it. I then confronted a different waitress, more firmly this time, about how I could have a hair in my soup for the second time. She saw the hair because I pointed it out clearly and walked away. Then the first waitress came back. I found her extremely rude. Instead of apologizing, she asked me (as I perceived it) pointedly if I didn't want to pay and told me that she hadn't made a mistake because she had checked the soup beforehand and there was no hair. It seemed to me as if she was implying that I might have put the hair in there myself. Her main concern seemed to be that I would definitely pay for the soup. Since I wasn't really concerned about not paying, I finally told her that I would definitely not pay for this soup—but of course I would pay for the rest. Her behavior toward me and the fact that I found hair in two of the soups was completely unacceptable. About the food in general: actually okay, nothing special, rather boring. The kimchi wasn't spicy enough for my taste, and I found the rice portion too small. Without the soups with hair, I probably would have gone back because it was okay overall—but of course, never again after this experience. I would also like to point out that the waitress saw the hair and didn't deny that it was in there—just that it supposedly wasn't there beforehand. I ended up not having to pay for the gluten-free soy sauce, which was recommended to me verbally, and the extra rice I ordered. I did have to pay for everything else. I originally didn't take a photo because I wasn't planning on writing a review. Only after the subsequent behavior did I decide to go ahead with it. I found the whole thing disgusting and unfriendly. Never again.

At this small but exquisite Korean restaurant on the pleasantly quiet Chamissoplatz, you'll need to reserve a table because it gets very busy. The dishes all look very authentic. My jap chae (sweet potato glass noodles with various fried vegetables) with tofu was a delight, and the service was very attentive.

This Korean bistro is located in a quiet corner of the Bergmannkiez neighborhood. It can be described as very cozy overall. Wine plays a key role on the menu, making it a great way to end the evening in a relaxed manner. The menu also features several authentic Korean dishes. I found the selection very good. The service was very friendly. I would gladly return.

I very rarely give star ratings that talk about service (I normally just care about good food), but in this case, both food and service were phenomenal. Portions were large, food felt fresh & well-seasoned, and the person helping us was a lovely, kind human being.

Korean food served in a traditional setting. The restaurant is very small, so making a reservation or visiting during off-peak hours is recommended. The food was very tasty and not too spicy—suitable for Europeans. However, the authentic Korean flavor was still present. You could add a spiciness to your liking with a separate paste. The service was very friendly and English-speaking. The ambiance is minimalist. There is a restroom available.

The setting is super cozy! Three of us came and tried their "grill on the table" menu with other sides. For my part, it was the first time I ate this kind of dish, half-grill, half-soup, and it was delicious. The team was super welcoming and attentive.

Good, authentic Korean restaurant with Bibimbap as specialty. You can only order the stone bowl option between September and April unfortunately. But food quality and taste were both very good. Prices are upmarket. Staff was friendly, service quick. Interior cosy but small, best reserve ahead of your visit.

We were drawn to Namsan by the positive reviews, and we were not disappointed. The service was very warm and attentive. The food was very good and available in various spice levels. Vegetarian options are also available. The €10 reservation fee was promptly refunded and, given the small size of the restaurant, was a reasonable amount. Another positive note is that dogs are welcome. All in all, a successful evening in Berlin. Thank you very much, and we would be happy to come back.

Absolutely recommended! The food at Namsan is to die for – fresh, authentic and full of flavour. We really liked the rice cakes as a side dish and the tofu Japchae. Very warm & attentive service. We'd love to stop by more often!

Excellent Korean food and good service.

Not only was the food delicious and tasty, the service was the best I’ve had in Berlin - no joke. The friendliest, nicest and sweetest people gave us instructions on how to better enjoy our food, how to combine the ingredients and in the end we even got some extra glasses of our favorite shots. I left the place in love with it.

What incredible and attentive service from the owner, Jin-Hee - some of the most kind hospitality I’ve seen in Berlin. Very generous portions too - felt like we received much more than we paid for. Amazing.

Namsan is by far the best korean restaurant in Berlin in terms of food quality, client experience and service. Their new starters is a killer. I have been to restaurants in Berlin twice a week for seven years now and no restaurant treat you as Jinhee and her team do in Namsan - just hats off.

We choose the korean grill menu. Very tastfull. As a starter the Tofu was also nice even though I’m not a real tofu expert. Because of the small time window in which you’ll have to eat it, it’s a bit less relaxst.

A small restaurant where they try to accommodate the maximum number of customers. You basically sit back to back. Apart from that, there is a clear menu with Korean dishes. We had ordered a bibimbap - unfortunately it wasn't what I was familiar with. It was a cold dish (see photo).

For me, the place lives through its great and strikingly warm hosts. What is also particularly positive is that almost every dish on the menu is available in a vegetarian and/or vegan version. The food was good. Overall, however, the “hype” doesn’t seem to me to be 100% understandable (at least the side kimchi with the bibimbap was surprisingly boring). The 90-minute rule is also implemented relatively strictly (which is communicated in advance, but I find a time window of 120 minutes more relaxed). Nevertheless, definitely a recommendation for Korean cuisine in the Bergmannkiez.

Great shop with beautifully presented and very tasty Korean food. Super courteous service who keeps an eye on the bulgogi on the grill and turns it himself. The kimchi is well aged and not one of the quick & dirty kimchi that you sometimes get in other stores. In the large selection of Korean restaurants in Berlin, currently the best for a relaxed date.

Namsan has a descent food with excellent taste and generous portions. As a Korean, I also appreciate their authentic dishes and bowls. The service was also outstanding—friendly and calm. The only minor issue was the rice; while beautifully shaped, it was too dry and cold. It would be better if it were warmer and more moist. Aside from that, everything was a perfect 5 out of 5.

We ate here for the first time on February 1st, 2025 and were thrilled. Ambience simple and beautiful...food fresh and delighted the eyes and the palate. I particularly liked the fact that the basis of many dishes is vegetarian and that the meat components can be added. We would love to come back and are already looking forward to our next visit.

When booking a table, an amount of 5 euros per person is due, which will be refunded after the appointment has been made, card payment only, which I very much welcome. However, when I didn't book a tip using the card, the employee briefly lost her friendliness. Tip in cash, as I always do when paying by card, led to the return of the friendliness I had previously experienced

The bibimbap namul is just right ㅠㅠ From fern to radish namul.. All other menu items are also delicious. I visited several times with foreign friends and everyone was very satisfied! The people who serve us are also very friendly. Intention to revisit⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We took the Soul grill plate for two and it was very filling. However, the ladle was much too small and you couldn't get the sauce onto the plate easily. Food was good but not top-tier among Berlin's Koreans. It can be done quickly, but definitely not a must-go place. Sorry, I'm spoiled there.

On October 25th, 2024 I was in this restaurant with a friend. When we reserved a table we had to pay a fee of 10 euros, which you get refunded after the visit, but I couldn't quite understand why it was necessary given the size and crowds of the restaurant. The shop is relatively small and busy, which probably explains this practice, but still seems questionable. Another point of criticism is the limited length of stay: you can only use the table for 1.5 hours, as it is then reserved for the next reservation. At 7 p.m. sharp we were asked to leave, even though our glass wasn't yet empty - we found that unpleasant and inflexible. The food was really good though. As far as the service was concerned, however, there was a problem: When being served, the food was explained in English without asking, without first clarifying whether we even spoke English. This seems to be standard in Berlin now, but I find it problematic that the service staff seem unable to convey basic information in German. We said we didn't speak English (which wasn't true), whereupon the service staff was visibly irritated, but at least called someone who could help us in German. In summary: The food was good, but the service and organization left a lot to be desired. We will not visit this restaurant again.

An all-round successful evening! Service to the food was MEGA. We had the "Bulgogi Seoul Grill for 2 people". It was our first experience with Korean BBQ. We were directly explained how to eat it best and which combinations are “traditionally” eaten. Price performance unbeatable... Service and food simply perfect. It's been a long time since you've had an evening that you won't soon forget. We'll definitely be back!

I ordered bulldog udong noodles but they brought me glass noodle soup which had very little noodles in it. As a result, I wasn’t full and went to an Uzbek restaurant to eat lagman.

The beef noodle soup is too sweet for me as an Asian. I can not taste other spice and flavor in the soup bcs is too sweet. Service is good, but 20+€ for this noodle is really too expensive guys.

Not just food, but a whole experience. We took the grill at the table and it was amazing. Consider asking for a doggie bag, as the portion size is huge.

I highly recommend this Korean restaurant! As soon as we entered we were greeted in a very friendly and warm manner. The service was extremely courteous, attentive and always with a smile on her face. The food was simply fantastic - fresh, flavorful and authentic. We were particularly impressed by the variety of dishes. All in all a great experience! We will definitely be back and can only recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Korean cuisine of perfect quality!
