Murphy's Law in Mannheim

Very nice pub centrally in Mannheim Next to the Main station. Pub offers good food and a huge range of tasty beer types. You can sit indside and also outside in the warmer months. Staff is very polite and aware. You do not have to wait long until you are serverd. Oven Potatoes, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Cottage Pie and especially the Hangover cure can be recommended uncoditionally.

Je suis passé pour attendre un train pendant un peu plus d'1h30 car à seulement 2 minutes de la gare, ce pub type irlandais présente des atouts : une grande terrasse, un intérieur typique. Mais, c'est vrai qu'un dimanche entre 17 h et 19h, ce n'est pas ce qu'il y a de plus vivant encore plus que le bar est presque à l'entrée de la ville, Mannheim n'est pas spécialement la plus belle ville du pays... Donc, je trouvais par exemple que le personnel, devant les clients pouvaient discuter de leurs horaires etc, ce qui rendait la chose peu pertinente et pro. J'ai commandé un pain baguette avec du poulet et du fromage, je ne pense pas que c'était le meilleur choix de la carte, assez conséquente de nourriture.

If you're waiting for your train, this is the ideal place to grab a bite to eat. The decor is very pretty, the food is good, the toilets are clean and the waitress is helpful and cheerful.

Good restaurant, Guinness on tap, nice service :) But later in the evening there won't be enough air inside

Nice Irish pub close by the Mannheimn station. They have decent food and plenty of beer. It does get pretty crowded though.

We saw the European Championships there, the atmosphere was of course great, and you can't say anything about the drinks and food prices. Service was nice, friendly and quick.

Quick service, first meal in here was very salty but tried again with different choice and all was well. Outside seating not the best for watching the football but very close to the train station if popping in waiting on connection…

The air inside the restaurant is too stuffy (smell of grease). And too loud

Been in a few times and never had an issue .. the food is good then beer is poor and the staff a very professional apart from one gentleman who thinks he is the boss ...was told to leave due to the fact England are playing and the bar is full of Scotland fans we have been told if we boo god save the king we Will be asked to leave.. we have had multiple problems as us Scots are loud .. it's supposed to be an Irish bar and if they check there history Irish and Scots get along .. never known a problem when we have traveled.. will definitely not be back and lost the revenue from Scotland fans due to poor hospitality.

What a gem. Every town great and small has at least one Irish pub, and Mannheim — a town I knew nothing about until I had a 6-hour train layover there rather late on a Monday night — is lucky to have Murphy’s Law. Good craic, a good Guinness pour, and tons of seating. I can’t imagine what watching the footy feels like over there, especially sitting outdoors, but surely it’s a hoot. Can’t imagine when I’ll be back on the banks of the mighty Rhine, but I know where I’m going first if-and-when.

Very conveniently located, good service, delicious and authentic food, good drinks. There are events such as: Quiz evenings. Sporting events are often shown.

The two of us went to the pub today. We quickly got a table without a reservation and were served nicely. Unfortunately, the vegetarian burger was a bit sadly prepared (vegetable patty with 2 slices of tomatoes and cheese, dry burger buns) and the fries were very dark. The fish was great but the fries were also very dark and soft. The ambience is very nice and the conditions were very nice and attentive.

Pub atmosphere inside, beer garden outside, location centrally near the main station, but not exactly cheap, overall recommended 🙂

Pretty authentic atmosphere. Good drink selection. Unfortunately, the black fries and the second portion of the food were exchanged after the complaint.

Everything was good average, except for the seating. If they made more comfortable benches with cushions or something similar it would be much better. Since I have a relatively thin butt, it starts to hurt after half an hour...

It's a really authentic old style place ... conveniently located close to the train station.

Original Irish pub, friendly service and great food

Mannheim doesn't have a lot of bars. This one is 100 yards from the train station and is well worth a visit. Sky Sports. Local beers, the Eichbaum is excellent. I was there ahead of a Waldof Mannheim vs Sandhausen game and I swear I have never seen so many people served so quickly and efficiently. Hats off to Niall and the team. I told him I'd leave a review... and here it is.

This place is what it promises, a nice Irish pub with great food and a good atmosphere, the service is super friendly and I would happily recommend it. The prices are good and anyone who appreciates Irish whiskeys or beers will feel at home here. I'll be back.

What a juice shop!!! Can't manage to synchronize the football broadcast on two screens. One screen simply advances 30+ seconds. Unfortunately, this means that the store can no longer be visited for a nice Champions League evening!

Food: Pub-like, quite ok. I mean you can get an average burger and sometimes that's just what you need. Service: Nice staff, sees to your needs at all times. Atmosphere: Its an Irish pub, what more do you need? Menu: As a pub one could expect them to have a bigger beer menu, but not yet.

On Wednesday August 18th, 2021, 6 of us went to Murphy's Law for dinner. Since one of us couldn't prove he had been vaccinated, we had to sit outside at the banquet benches, even though it was pretty cool (there were 8 people in the pub itself, it was full outside). The service took a long time at the beginning, but was afterwards friendly. The food wasn't great (to put it nicely). The fries were oily and soggy and the burger was quite dry. After satisfying the first hunger, half remained on the plate. Ordered Cola Zerro: it doesn't exist! Ordered iced tea: it doesn't exist! Thank God they couldn't go wrong with the Guinnes :-) Price/ratio is not right and toilets are reasonably clean. It's actually a real shame but we don't go there anymore.

Didn't eat. Beer was alright. Too busy night. Service was friendly but unable to cope with so many people.

I love this cozy atmosphere. A little noisy at times, but you have the opportunity to sit outside in summer.

Easily accessible Irish pub that is always worth a visit. Has everything an Irish pub needs: beer, food, whiskey, sports broadcasts, live music, pub quizzes. What more do you want?

Great Irish pub. The drinks are quite expensive though. The food is quite inexpensive.

The bag of mayo was my food highlight for the night. For the first time in my life, I understood why Gordon Ramsey has those shows where he tries to save the place with very bad food. Before having dinner at this place I didn't realise people can serve such poor quality food. As a person who really enjoyes food (any and almost all), the first bite of the sheppards pie from this place came as a shock. It was not good. It was far from good. Buckshot dry minced meat, blunt potatoes, randomly soft or hard pieces of carrot. A tastless plate of nothing really. It was a major fail. I was there with friends. Five people, four different dishes, one collective conclusion - this food is not good. Service is fantastic. Location is very nice. The crowd is decent. I liked outdoor seeting area more. Food is spectacularly bad. Guys, come on. Do better.

We were sitting outside and at first the vibe was buzzy and nice. But then we had to move indoors and the atmosphere there was not to our liking, though the place itself doesn't look too shabby. The food was, in the best case blunt. Fish was dry inside the crisp. Fries were looking and tasting sad and flavourless. The shepherd pie was a failure. It felt like they don't know how to prepare meat - it was dry little meat chunks in a blunt sauce. I believe anyone would do better job with same ingredients. Baked/cooked potatoes were boring because they also lacked flavour. Altogether, very untalented chef. The prices are high, almost 30% higher than at other pub we checked out the same evening.

I was just here for drinks. Super authentic and nice bartenders. There is draft Guinness draft cider and a good selection of bottled beer/cider. Would come here again every time.

Actually, I always go to the pub in Ludwigshafen. However, we happened to be in Mannheim. So first let’s talk about the price. It's okay, but higher than in other pubs. The service was friendly and quick. However, there's a reason we won't be coming back and it's because of the guy at the bar. I've never met such a rude person in a pub. A pub should be about everyone drinking together and everyone being accepted for who they are. But he didn't understand this. Whenever we laughed louder, he looked at us really critically. Where he broke his collar was when I drank from the pitcher. He called me low-level and that I should leave it alone. He acted as if no one wanted to go to the pub anymore because of me. It was the last time for me and my friends. I find it disgraceful when a third rate pub pretends they are better than others. But I have to say that it is well known in Mannheim and the surrounding area that Murphy's Law causes such problems. That's why I actually knew that something like this could happen. It's my own fault if I go in anyway... This pub is not worth recommending and I think it's a shame that you can't give it 0 stars.

Top pub. A home away from home, which is what we were after, although I totally get why some people would avoid. Waitress/bar staff was lovely. No problem with not being able to speak German. Was able to enjoy three local beers, not Guiness!

Nice pub near the train station. Show a lot of sports (BuLi, 6 Nations etc.). The ambience and service are top, as is the selection of drinks. Food is okay for a pub, it's just not a restaurant.

A drink we had ordered was spilled on me and a friend. Unfortunately we didn't get a new drink, nor were we offered anything after our friend had to leave the bar completely wet... So I'm a little disappointed with the service...

Unfortunately this pub smelt very fusty and damp! Very busy and good for a drink if you can ignore the smell, very off putting.

Netter Pub, lecker Bier, gute Stimmung.

Das Murphy‘s Law befindet sich am Mannheimer Hbf und hat dementsprechend eine sehr gute Lage. Die Einrichtung ist authentisch irisch eingerichtet, mit vielen Holzelementen, Blechschildern etc., sehr urig und einladend. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und bediente uns schnell, das frisch gezapfte Guinness war super. Mit 6€ für 0,5l ist es preislich voll ok, ich komme gerne wieder :)

Toll eingerichteter, uriger Pub direkt am Mannheimer Hauptbahnhof. Ganz gute Auswahl an Getränken, beim Bier liegt der Fokus auf irischen Bieren, wie Guinness. Wir haben kein Essen probiert, aber die Auswahl und Preise sind gut. Bestellen und bezahlen tut man vorne an der Bar, die Getränke werden einem aber gebracht. Montags ab 20 Uhr gibt es ein Quiz. Wir sind spontan vorbeigekommen und haben noch einen Platz gefunden, obwohl nicht wenig los war. Top :)

Just had a couple of beers before catching a train at the Hbf, really convenient for that. Fake irish bar, but one with character and excellent bar staff (my limited Deutsche got me by fine). Cant fault it, and the dunkle hefeweizen was excellent :)

Convenient to train station and wasn't busy when I visited. Weekday afternoon. Guinness is good and food served quickly. Hearty food for a cold day. Staff were friendly and the bar has TV's showing sports.

Typische Pub Atmosphäre. Vor allem schön im Sommer wenn man im Biergarten sitzen kann.

If anything could go wrong it will; and just then, at the worst possible moment. That being said, such I have never encountered here, at the de facto Irish pub in Mannheim. Close by the train station, it's impossible not to find; obviously, because during the summer months, the large beer garden on the station promenade is always full of locals and travelers. They also host a quiz once a week, ask me not on which day it falls. Feel needing an evening feeling Irish, Murphy's Law is a good bet for that!

Went in around 5:30 pm and at the end of the bar were three or four waiters but one bartender. Very few customers, but it sure was slow. The waiters were patiently waiting for their drink orders to take to their customers at tables, and ten minutes after placing my order I was no closer to having a drink then when I entered. I walked out after 12-15 minutes or so. No one seem to be in a great hurry, a shame really…

Nach der Firmenfeier noch was trinken gewesen. Authentisches Pub Feeling. Leckers Bier und immer gut besucht. Liegt gleich neben Bahnhof also auch gut erreichbar. Immer wieder gerne da.

Ich liebe es auf Dienstreisen Empfehlungen von Kollegen auszuprobieren und was soll ich sagen... Ein echt schönes Irish pub, man kommt rein und fühlt sich direkt wohl. Der Service war top und das Team durchgehend sympathisch. Und das Essen war mega. Der Burger perfekt gebraten und einen super Geschmack und die Pommes auf den Punkt (Wobei das natürlich Geschmackssache ist.) Und das man dort auf auf english begrüßt und bedient wird, passt einfach noch perfekt dazu.

Am Dienstag beim Essen , es war super lecker !!!!

Love, love, love the place! It was rather a random choice while waiting for the train, but a lucky one! Proper hearty Irish food and drinks, nice friendly service and unbeatable atmosphere. It felt like being back to Ireland for me.
