Das Chili sin Carne war einfach nur salzig und viel zu tomatig. Das Chicken Korma war eher süßlich. Das Chili con Carne war mittelmäßig. Insgesamt eine enttäuschende Erfahrung, vor allem angesichts der vielen positiven Bewertungen.

Wir sind zufällig in dieses unscheinbare Restaurant mit Suppen im Freien gestolpert und haben sofort eine unerwartete Perle entdeckt. Innerhalb von nur zwei Tagen waren wir schon dreimal dort. Das Essen ist frisch und lecker, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und die Preise sind günstiger als erwartet. Wir wären heute noch einmal hingegangen, wenn wir nicht schon weg müssten.

Sehr lecker, vor allem als Abwechslung zu Würstchen und Grillfleisch.

Update Immer wieder sehr gut! Mitten im Viktualienmarkt befindet sich die Suppenküchen. Es gibt sehr viele variationen verschiendener Suppen und Gerichte. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist für den Viktalienmarkt hervorragend. Es ist zwar eine Selbstbedienung, aber die Suppen schmecken wirklich vorzüglich. Genügend überdachte Sitzplätze sind auch vorhanden. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell. In der Münchener Suppenküche seine Mittagspause zu verbringen ist eine gute Idee und es rentiert sich. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder, sobald wir wieder beim Einkaufen auf dem Viktualienmarkt sind!

Der Service ist unglaublich schnell, fast schon blitzschnell. Die Suppen sind köstlich, die Portionen großzügig, und die Öffnungszeiten sind so lang, dass man jederzeit essen kann. Abendessen wird allerdings nicht angeboten. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an veganen und vegetarischen Gerichten.

Super leckeres indisches Curry-Hühnchen mit Reis und in Bier geschmorte Rindfleisch-Dumplings! Unbedingt probieren! Fast alle essen dort im Stehen 😆 Was für ein fantastischer Markt!

Richtig gute Suppen zu einem guten Preis. Kommen Sie am besten etwas vor dem Mittagsansturm – es wird schnell voll!

Für solch einen Touristenapot sehr lecker und auch preislich in Ordnung. Schöner Sitzplatz und uns haben das Chili, die Tomaten Basilikum Suppe und das Linsencurry sehr geschmeckt. Dankeschön

Es war einmal ….eine gute Schmackhafte Küche. Das ist leider vorbei. Die Gulaschsuppe schmecket eher nach Bratensoße mit Kartoffeln, Fleisch finden wir fast nicht. Im Thaicurry ebenfalls kaum Hähnchen. und die Portion sieht sehr dürftig aus. Fazit , früher mal eine Empfehlung, heute nicht mehr .

Sehr leckere Suppen und preislich fair.

Ich hatte Karotten-, Kokosnuss- und Ingwersuppe mit Brot. Der Ingwer gab der Suppe ein angenehmes Aroma. Das Eintunken des harten Brotes in die Suppe war eine leckere Kombination.

Es geht sehr schnell, ist preiswert, manchmal findet man keinen Sitzplatz, weil es so voll ist, das Hühnchen in der Suppe schmeckt komisch.

Ein ausgezeichneter Ort für Suppe. Sehr lecker, toller Service und preiswert. Die Brezel war auch gut.

Ich bin in einem anderen Land und träume immer noch von der Gulaschsuppe und einer leckeren Brezel. Das perfekte Mittagessen für unterwegs, unglaublich schmackhaft (mir läuft schon beim Gedanken an die Suppe das Wasser im Mund zusammen).

Geht für den schnellen Hunger. Leider waren einige Gerichte am Nachmittag bereits aus, leider hatte ich kein gutes Gefühl nach dem Essen, irgendwie war meine Chili con carne viel zu sauer, vielleicht war zu viel Zitronensaft drin. Die Suppen werden frisch gekocht, das merkt man. Scheibe Brot kostet 50 Cent zusätzlich, wie bitte?

Schnelle Suppe am Mittag. Wir hatten eine Gulaschsuppe und eine süsskartoffelsuppe. Beides fantastisch 🤩 und echt sehr lecker. Obwohl wir direkt zur Mittagszeit ankamen , War es keinerlei Problem einen schönen sonnigen Platz zu finden. Auch gab es praktisch null Wartezeit , da die suppenausgabe echt fix ging. Jederzeit wieder.

Netter Service und Lage/ Ambiente auch in Ordnung. Leider hatten wir mit dem Linseneintopf wohl die falsche Wahl getroffen. Der schmeckt original wie aus der Konserve. Auch das bisschen Gemüse darin war alles andere als frisch. Den Eintopf könnte man mit minimalem Aufwand sicherlich deutlich verbessern. Schade, da die Suppenküche ja eigentlich sonst gute Bewertungen bekommt.

Superlecker … genau das richtige an einem regnerischen Tag im Februar. Preis-/Leistung sehr gut! Absolute Empfehlung.

Leckere Suppen, nettes Publikum

Ich war an einem kalten Abend in München und meine Schüssel Gulaschsuppe war genau das Richtige. Sie wärmte meine Hände und meine Seele! Die Leute waren sehr freundlich und die Suppe mit Brot war einfach himmlisch! Vielen Dank!

Mitten auf dem Viktualienmarkt, also auf an einem touristischen Hotspot gelegen. Kassiererin an der Selbstbedienung ok, auch in der Mittagszeit. Die Linsensuppe allerdings war geschmacklich mittelmäßig und nur lauwarm. Vom angepriesenen Wienerwürstl enthielt jede unserer zwei Portionen außerdem genau 3 Scheibchen. Die Suppenküche wird ihrem Ruf leider nicht mehr gerecht - schade.

Leckere Suppe am Viktualienmarkt im authentischen Ambiente. Nur die semmelknödel sind nicht empfehlenswert. Selbstbedienung, und trotzdem wird man am Terminal zum Trinkgeld genudged. Das ist anmaßend und gibt deutlichen Abzug. Leider sind seit einem Wechsel der Betreiber die Portionen deutlich kleiner und die Preise deutlich höher geworden, was schwer verständlich ist, wenn man weiß, dass die Stadt die Stände am Viktualienmarkt deutlich unter Marktpreisen hält. Daher leider trotz der guten Suppen keine 5 Sterne.

Die Gulaschsuppe war gut, aber warum sollen Touristen bei Kartenzahlung für Selbstbedienung ein Mindesttrinkgeld von 10 % zahlen?

Nichts geht über eine heiße Schüssel Leberknödelsuppe an einem regnerischen Wintertag. Und natürlich der Glühwein.

We had chicken soup with German ravioli and chicken pieces. Sounds simple... But it was excellent and so tasty and warms the throat. Recommended. There are many types of soups.

Really tasty soups. Occasionally there can be a long queue, but if you manage to get a seat, it's pleasant.

We ordered chilli con carne, goulassuppe and pumpkin soup, and we really enjoyed it, it was crowded, but the service is very good and the customers are getting along. I would recommend it!

This place lives up to its name: best soup in town. I was craving for a bow of clear broth soup and stumbled on this place in a rainy day in Munich. Conveniently located next to the Christmas market, in the farmer’s market, it’s a self- service restaurant and offers many choices of soups. We had clear broth soups with meat and liver dumplings. I prefer the liver dumping because the meat was chewy. What I liked the most was it’s simply broth without salt. You can add salt to adjust your taste but it’s good as it is. It’s best with a mug of mulled wine.

As a soup lover, I decided to try it when I saw the queue in front of Viktualienmarkt. Wow, the Vegetable Soup was so good on a cold day, with a slice of bread. Definitely come for your lunch and crown it with a soup. What beer is to summer, soup is to winter.

October 2025: We came here again one year later (2 days in a row) and had the same great experience. This time, we tried other things on the menu. Not everything is in English though so very basic A1 German may be needed. November 2024: Friendly staff and well priced soups. They have even have butter chicken and chilli con carne. There is an English menu on the wall on the inside. It is very popular with locals and tourists. There is an option to tip if paying by card which is weird since it is a self service restaurant (i did anyway as the lady was nice).

This is the only hot soup place around here. This time I ordered chicken soup with bread (the black one was a bit sour), which wasn't a good match, but it was the cheapest, so I made do with it. The soup is Taiwanese-style, but quite salty. The meat is tender and tender, so it's generally acceptable. If you like hot soup, come in, get it to go, or buy a bowl to take home with a deposit.

Typical Munich market atmosphere, the queue is quite long from 12:30 p.m. but the service is fast and the food is fresh and tasty in all simplicity.

The taste is excellent and the price-performance ratio is very good. A plus for me is that the food is served in proper porcelain soup bowls, not disposable ones. If you want to take something to go, you can bring your own or rent some for a fee.

Came here for a late breakfast and had the coconut carrot soup with a slice of bread on the side. I think the price was 6.90€ so not too expensive especially considering the location though tbf it's also just a bowl of soup. Anyway the soup itself was good. Not spectacular but a nice and balanced flavor. Overall good spot for a small meal and I wouldn't mind trying another one of the soups.

If we lived in Munich, we would visit the restaurant often because of the very delicious soups. In two consecutive days we tried four types and we liked all of them in terms of quantity, quality of the products and rich aroma. Something "lite" before Oktoberfest. Best goulash I had so far. It's rich, thick and uber savory.

Chicken soup with noodles and pumpkin soup Total 15.3 yuan~ It's not very filling; you might want to add extra meat or something else! But the chicken soup is drinkable straight up and not too salty. The pumpkin soup is saltier, so you might want to dip it in some curry-flavored bread! The chicken soup is quite satisfying for Taiwanese soup lovers 🈴

At the soup kitchen at the Viktualienmarkt, I had to wait in line first – and yes, that sometimes takes a while, but honestly: where there are lots of people patiently queuing, there's usually something good to be found. For me, that's a sign of quality. The goulash soup was served in a small bowl – unassuming from the outside, but what was inside was something special. The soup itself was a blast. A hearty goulash, deeply flavorful, with a sauce that had just the right consistency: not too thin, not too thick, but just enough to make you want to dip your spoon in again and again. The small potato cubes were particularly good, giving the whole thing a earthy feel. Nice and soft, but not overcooked – just enough to retain some structure and perfectly complement the buttery meat. The flavor was wonderfully balanced: a light acidity that added freshness, a subtle spiciness that added warmth, and the meat, so tender that it almost disappeared as soon as you put it in your mouth. Together with the succulent sauce, this made for a combination that was simply a joy. The bread that came with it was unfortunately bone-dry. The goulash soup completely won me over and was definitely worth the wait in line for.

The liver dumpling soup is highly recommended.

For those who don’t, well they’ll learn the hard way when they receive a threatening lawyer’s letter. If you really want to improve, google search authentic recipes and don’t take shortcuts. By the way, there was at least 10 more chunks of carrots on top of the ones in the photo. Original: I’m not sure what this was, but it certainly wasn’t African chicken curry. And, I’ve only found 3 tiny pieces of chicken 🤷🏼‍♀️ The staff were rude as well!!

it's not worth for the price and the tips

The soups were delicious. The value for money was excellent. The service was also more than satisfactory. We had carrot/ginger/coconut soup and potato soup. It was so delicious that we ate there again the next day. Thank you for that.

The only disadvantage is that there is very little space, and you often have to wait, but the line moves quickly as it is more of a snack bar than a restaurant. Great value for money. Location right on the Viktualienmarkt. It was a big portion of Chili Con Carne, and also I would recommend to try their Soup, chicken broth with noodles or vegetables 🍲

I have a bonus card from the Munich soup kitchen. I was just about to show it when they said it was no longer available. The response was, "I was just out of luck with the points on it." It's a shame. I always enjoy going here, but after the unfriendly response, NEVER AGAIN.

Fast food with soups in the center of Munich. There is a place on the street where you can sit and eat, but not much. Many soup options on the menu, I took goulash. Overall, good for its price. I would like a larger portion and more meat. Tasty, but there were pieces of meat with fat. I was also confused by the offer to pay a tip when paying, although there are no waiters or service here

Extremely speedy service, tasty food (loved the spinach lentil curry), very cheap, and a nice lively ambience thanks to its location in Viktualienmarkt. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area although it may be hard to find a seat

I had carrot coconut ginger soup and beef soup + noodles, and pretzels. It seems like Koreans eat a lot of goulash. The carrot soup is yellow and the ginger flavor spreads when you take a bite. People who like ginger will like it. I think I’ve had the beef soup in Korea before? Or not? It seems familiar? Or not? But my husband, who is a K-man, said it was so delicious that he sprinkled chili powder on it and drank it. If you’re tired of the sausage + bread combination, try it once. I was curious about the taste of goulash, so I went back the next day to eat it. Haha I took a spoonful and immediately added plain rice! It was so delicious that I emptied the bowl. I can definitely see why Koreans eat a lot of goulash. This is a recommended restaurant.

The carrot coconut soup was amazing. Would die for the recipe to have and bring back home with me. Great snack or light lunch amongst all the stalls. Better for earlier meals as the whole market starts to shut down around 5pm.

Don't miss the opportunity to try wonderful soups at this outdoor restaurant. On one day I tried chicken and red curry soup and on the second day the carrot-ginger-coconut soup. The cost is around 7-10 euros depending on the soup.
