Fast food with soups in the center of Munich. There is a place on the street where you can sit and eat, but not much. Many soup options on the menu, I took goulash. Overall, good for its price. I would like a larger portion and more meat. Tasty, but there were pieces of meat with fat. I was also confused by the offer to pay a tip when paying, although there are no waiters or service here

Extremely speedy service, tasty food (loved the spinach lentil curry), very cheap, and a nice lively ambience thanks to its location in Viktualienmarkt. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area although it may be hard to find a seat

I had carrot coconut ginger soup and beef soup + noodles, and pretzels. It seems like Koreans eat a lot of goulash. The carrot soup is yellow and the ginger flavor spreads when you take a bite. People who like ginger will like it. I think I’ve had the beef soup in Korea before? Or not? It seems familiar? Or not? But my husband, who is a K-man, said it was so delicious that he sprinkled chili powder on it and drank it. If you’re tired of the sausage + bread combination, try it once. I was curious about the taste of goulash, so I went back the next day to eat it. Haha I took a spoonful and immediately added plain rice! It was so delicious that I emptied the bowl. I can definitely see why Koreans eat a lot of goulash. This is a recommended restaurant.

The carrot coconut soup was amazing. Would die for the recipe to have and bring back home with me. Great snack or light lunch amongst all the stalls. Better for earlier meals as the whole market starts to shut down around 5pm.

Ate 3 large bowls of soups by myself because it was that good! Simple, rustic, wholesome and absolutely delicious! The perfect meal for a rainy day and the prices are very cheap for the great quality.

Don't miss the opportunity to try wonderful soups at this outdoor restaurant. On one day I tried chicken and red curry soup and on the second day the carrot-ginger-coconut soup. The cost is around 7-10 euros depending on the soup.

On every trip to Munich we were regular customers at the soup kitchen at the Viktualienmarkt in Munich. Today we were there for the last time. The quality has decreased significantly in recent years, the broth tasted as if it was extremely watered down, without any flavor, and it wasn't even lukewarm. Since we always give a second chance, we went again this weekend and the taste experience was the same. But the prices have risen. When paying, it should be pointed out that there is now a deposit on glasses. We hadn't read the note in the hustle and bustle at the checkout and simply handed over our dishes. Too bad!

Delicious, full of meat and potatoes goulash soup. Very well spiced and smelling crazy good. The service was really nice and staff friendly. 10 euros for the soup and pretzel, which killed dmy hunger for the whole day. Cosy place in the middle of the local market.

The price-quality relationship 👍👍👍 We have gone to the place they have in the Viktualienmarkt market, although this place belongs to a fast food restaurant chain, but it is of good quality. There are several locations in the center of Munich. Everything we bought was delicious. The Franciscan beer is great! Fast service, very polite girls, they understand and speak English well. There were many free seats at the tables, quite cozy. We have ordered chili con carne with rice and chicken tikka with rice. I liked chili con carne better - it's delicious. The prices they have are about 6-10 euros per dish, quite economical. There are also many vegetarian food options. The food is freshly made, hot. It's not spicy at all, but the tables have hot sauce and condiments so you can make it to your liking. We recommend it and we will repeat it of course!

Visited on 2024/12/27. At a restaurant famous for its soup, I ordered goulash with beef. It has a slightly salty taste, so it's best to eat it with bread. There were counter seats and table seats. It's nice to be able to just drop by.

Ordered a plate I thought was worth 6 euros, but the total was 15.90 or something. Now sure how that worked out.

Large portions, delicious fare with lots of variety and a very packed seating area! We got the goulash and carrot ginger soup - both were really flavourful, hearty and delicious. They also offer rice bowls and had a couple of clearly marked vegan options on the menu too. They had a really long line to order, which makes finding a place to sit a bit of a task. Curious about whether they’re equally popular in summer!

Find this gem within the Viktualienmarkt open-air farmer's market. A hot soup/curry on a cold winter day is simply lovely. Tried and loved the "butterchickencurry reis" - no translation needed! :)

We ordered two soups. The pumpkin soup was really very tasty. Compliment. The second was the wedding soup. The taste was a bit thin, but it could have been stronger. However, there are a lot of noodles in it so it's totally fine. We'll definitely be back.

We had the beef broth and the pumpkin soup, neither of which really impressed us and there was a lack of spices... the positive thing was the freshly tapped Augistiner beer and the nice saleswoman.

Yummy! I was nearby, felt hungry and ended up in the soup kitchen today in the freezing cold. That was great, the chili warmed me up from the inside and tasted great, with lots of cumin and paprika - just the way I like it. Very nice lady at the food counter. Bread was also delicious and not dry at all (it was there shortly before closing time).

Today I tried the pumpkin soup. The taste was pleasantly creamy and full, thanks to the cream, which added a subtle hint of lactose and went well with the pumpkin. But it is a vegetarian version based on water and not broth. Personally, I would have preferred the soup to have been made with chicken broth - that would have added more depth and richness to the flavor.

Friendly staff and well priced soups. They have even have butter chicken and chilli con carne. There is an English menu on the wall on the inside. It is very popular with locals and tourists. There is an option to tip if paying by card which is weird since it is a self service restaurant (i did anyway as the lady was nice).

We had 2 soups the goulash soup was OK but the vegetable soup was not so good and the people do not speak English, so they do not understand what you would like to have. For the two soups and 2 pieces of bread we paid 21 euros.

Really good menu and great choices of soups. The soups are really quite tasty and are served in a decent amount of portion. We ordered the Chilli con carne and the Goulasch Soup, both were great. Perfect value for money and comfort food on a cold day. I just wish they had a table service for the beer garden as the whole place is really crammed up. Looking forward to trying their other soups

Update Always very good! The soup kitchen is located in the middle of the Viktualienmarkt. There are many variations of different soups and dishes. The price-performance ratio is excellent for the Viktalienmarkt. It's self-service, but the soups taste really delicious. There are also enough covered seats. The staff is very friendly and professional. Spending your lunch break in the Munich soup kitchen is a good idea and it's worth it. We'll definitely be back as soon as we're shopping at the Viktualienmarkt again!
