Mundo - Tapas Bar - Mitte in Berlin

We thought it was funny to try a Spanish tapas restaurant in Berlin and we were quite disappointed. We ordered Galician-style octopus, bravas, eggplant tempura and meat skewers. The octopus was more like chewing gum reheated in the microwave, very poorly presented. of meat, we left the place quickly.

I see a lot of 5-star reviews, unfortunately they must be from non-Spanish people. I happened upon the bar with some friends and ordered 3 tapas. If you see the photo I posted, it's "potatoes with chorizo," which I'd like to understand as an attempt at potatoes Riojana style. The problem isn't just that it came empty; the photo shows the dish untouched. It's that what would be "chorizo" tastes like the kind you get in a can of fabada (fabada) from the supermarket, with no chorizo ​​flavor, just the sauce they put the potatoes in. In short, a place I'll never return to because of the scam and the poor image they give of Spanish cuisine.

Food was ok, but nothing special. However I had the worst sangria I'd ever tasted! Was like someone had tipped canned fruit in a bottle of Lambrini...avoid at all costs!

Who would have expected that in the tourist hotspot of Berlin you would come across a restaurant that you like. We had something to do in the corner and had reason to end the day pleasantly. From the reception to the bill and farewell we felt very comfortable. The staff was extremely nice. All orders arrived quickly and we asked if everything was OK. The tapas and our drinks were delicious. We will visit you again. Also because you were so kind to our Bubu, Chihuahua.

I absolutely loved my visit to this tapas bar! The food was consistently delicious - every single type of tapas was lovingly prepared, tasted excellent and beautifully presented. The service was also super friendly, attentive and quick. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, just like you would want on a tapas evening. I would definitely like to come back – absolutely recommended!

Tapas recommended and great! Service impeccable and friendly! The only point of criticism: Creme Catalana was mediocre - corn semolina was lumpy and not stirred smoothly in cream - a shame, otherwise it would be 5 out of 5 points

Quite a good Spaniard with a tourist audience. Service okay, a bit loveless. Food good average. Portions okay, seasoned a bit lightly here and there. Drinks good, both house beer and wine. When full, it's very loud - but definitely comfortable. Overall, despite the location right next to Checkpoint Charlie, it's not a rip-off, but a place where you can eat good Spanish food that isn't completely overpriced.

Catastrophic! You just don't get what you're promised... 1. A break buffet was booked by phone. When we arrived we discovered that it doesn't even exist here... 2. It's unclean. In many places there was no cleaning. The air conditioning at the entrance only distributes dust. 3. It was cold in the visiting room. 4. The burger should have been prepared with red onions. They used regular ones, which made a big difference in taste. The fries were unseasoned. 5. Drinks were only partially delivered/forgotten. It was also not possible to serve food to all five people at the same time. 6. If you don't give the correct amount, change will simply be withheld. Even when asked, there was no change. This is outrageous! Conclusion: Once and never again!

What a nice atmosphere at Mundo Tapas. Food is good. All dishes were delicious. And at the end a tequila on the house. Recommended!

Tapas was very good! The place is great and everything is perfect this was my third visit.

Unfortunately, the visit disappointed us almost entirely. The cocktails served (we tried several) tasted of cheap ingredients and were below average in taste. Two of the three visitors in our group also didn't like the food. It tasted boring and not very tasty. We also had to change our minds several times about both the cocktails and the food because various options on the menu were not available. That didn't leave a good impression on us. Unfortunately, the service did not show any sensitivity. We were almost forced to choose something because the waitress stood on our feet every three minutes. Even after we ordered, we were almost harassed, even though our drinks had only changed slightly in the last few seconds. To make matters worse, both women's and men's toilets were flooded and could not be used be used. Since our assessment contradicts the rest of the reviews, I hope the restaurant was just having a bad day. Nevertheless, we were very disappointed to have spent a relatively large amount of money for the service provided.

The food was very good, the baked nachos with minced meat and cheese were great. The sour cream dip went best with this for us. The tapas and homemade lemonade were also fantastic. Great Spanish atmosphere. The only point of criticism: the cocktails were a bit too fizzy for us.

A wonderful restaurant with delicious tapas and gentle white wine! We got here by chance without any reservation and the staff kindly gave us a table for three, warning us that we have two hours to handle the food, because after that all their tables are reserved. This option suited us and we had a great time. At the end, we were pleasantly surprised by the moderate cost of the dinner. I recommend visiting this establishment for a good and tasty pastime.

I came from Iceland and I was very happy to find this place (I'm Spanish). I loved the food (really delicious) and the service is exceptional. Special mention to Billy, our favorite waiter in all of Berlin :D The prices are also very reasonable. We will return.

Paella 🥘 burnt, rice stuck and burnt, fish without flavour. Nice furnishings, but a sense of dirtiness confirmed when you go to the bathroom. The bathroom in restaurants is the expression of the cleanliness you will also have in the kitchen.

They have errors in the menu, they did not declare their readiness to correct the error. My colleagues drank cocktails and said they had too much water. The garlic sauce on the skewers was weird. The windows of the restaurant are dirty, as well as other parts (mirrors, etc.) It's too cramped and terribly noisy. Their aspiration does not work, the whole place smells of cooking.

Easily the worst tapas bar I've ever been to. Typical lame tourist trap like a few other restaurants in the touristic areas. The tortilla, the pulpo, the calamari and even the patatas bravas were extremely dry (like they were microwaved already before). There are plenty of better tapas bars in Berlin.

The food was mixed. The tapas were all very good. The poultry buger got high marks from the eater, as did the fajitah. However, the nachos con polo were soggy and not seasoned well. The sangria is only sweet and is not homemade, but bought ready-made and "refined" with a few pieces of canned fruit. Really bad. The cocktails only tasted like cheap booze. So only the tapas are recommended.

The food was neither particularly prepared nor particularly good. The conditions were unfriendly and unfortunately not on point. The restaurant probably relies heavily on tourists as customers and was very full that evening. Maybe that was the reason that the food and service suffered.

Despite the location at a tourist hotspot at Checkpoint Charly, it's a great restaurant with reasonable prices and great food. Staff very friendly, the boss tries to make sure you get a seat. Local is really recommended.

Absolutely fantastic food, the chicken skewers are fantastic and the beef skewers are something next level. The best part was the quality of the staff, if Billi is your server then you are in good hands!

Mundo's es un restaurante de tapas en Berlín no muy lejos de Checkpoint Charlie. El ambiente del restaurante es relajante y cuando estuvimos allí (diciembre - para los mercados de Navidad ) había música en vivo que se sumó a tener una gran velada. La comida era de primera categoría y había una buena gama de platos para tener. El precio no era demasiado caro y el personal era amable y profesional. Comimos allí 2 de nuestra estancia de 3 noches... Es un Tapas maravilloso y realmente vale la pena una visita. Casi lo olvido, hay un gran bar irlandés literalmente al lado...

As a paella lover, I tried this place with the confidence I received from the comments. The paella was good, I think I finished the paella for two on my own. When I asked for sangria -January 7- they stated that there was no red wine sangria left. I chose aperol instead. The atmosphere was nice. A place to come with large groups.

We had dinner at Mundo with a large group once in November and again in January. On the first visit I had three tapas, now the burger with chicken. The burger was rather average, the tapas was actually much better on the first visit. But of course that's just my opinion. On the first visit we had a table inside, on the second visit we had a table outside around the corner. The second time, outside, the service wasn't as quick. Whether it was the location or the service staff (we had different staff) cannot be said clearly. The restaurant itself is in a very central location, it is nicely decorated and usually the service is between average and fast. The food ranges from ok to really good. So for a pleasant evening in a good restaurant, we definitely recommend it. Unfortunately I only have the photo from November.

The best ham croquettas in Berlin! They are homemade and served with aioli which is also homemade! I recommend without hesitation! In addition, the atmosphere and the service are TOP: very smiling waitress!!! Thank you for entertaining us!! PS: The sangria is delicious!!!

Absolutely positive surprise, anything but a tourist rip-off, very tasty food!

We stopped for a quick lunch, we got fried calamari and tomato soup. Both were so good and served warm just like we asked. The sauce for the calamari was excellent!

Very good food, we didn't have to wait 5 minutes for the drinks and appetizer. The tapas also went relatively quickly. We liked it very much. And the price was unbeatable. Gladly again.

Super recommended place if you are in Berlin! Excellent food, they have an offer that includes 3 tapas for €16.90 which are perfect for one person. Very nice address for good quality tapas. The service is quick, attentive, and very professional. It is our second time as a big group of 10 persons and we strongly recommend. We spent the Saint silvester there: tapas menu set is fairly priced, cocktails and sangria are excellent. We will surely return again soon!! Sometimes there is live music and guests are showing some salsa moves. Reservation advised.

En réalité, les plats n’ont de tapas que le nom: fromage de chèvre bon marché vaguement passé au four, patates bravas pas du tout croustillantes… et que dire des cocktails, qui n’en sont pas, de la saleté du sol et de celle de la cuisine 😱 À partir de là, tout devient désagréable alors je ne citerai qu’un dernier sujet: la musique. Amateurs de tapas, et de nourriture en général, passez votre chemin, sauf si vraiment vous avez faim et que rien d’autre n’est ouvert. Un point positif: l’addition, peu élevée, mais déjà bien trop en comparaison de la qualité.

Great restaurant! Everything is very tasty, the portions are large, Spanish beer is great. On Saturday evening all the tables were occupied, we were given a table for an hour and a half. The service is fast and unobtrusive, they helped with the choice. We will come here more than once. I recommend!

We went there for Christmas Eve dinner due to our late train, the food was good and the price is not bad. The servers were very nice! I really respect them for working on Christmas Eve, it is not for everyone and they still made it with a smile so we tipped them! At the end of the dinner they treated us to some free shots, very much appreciated! Side note: the strawberry daiquiri is probably one of the best one I’ve ever heard :)

Encouraged by the positive opinions, I planned to visit this restaurant during my 3-day stay in Berlin. Luckily, I visited this place on the first day and for the rest of my stay, I was there every day. Very helpful, polite and professional service. The waiting time for food at lunch was short. Everything is delicious and the portions are very large. I recommend taking advantage of the promotion of 3 tapas for PLN 16.50. This restaurant was on my itinerary during 3 day city break in Berlin. I stayed in the nearby hotel and Mundo was my choice for the first meal. I'm happy about this coincidence, as I was going there every day! Super friendly and very professional waiting Staff, food was delicious and portions of tapas very really large. They have a promotion of any 3 tapas (including hot) for 16.50 Euro. I totally recommend this place.

Very nice Latin American restaurant. I got nachos as you can see below, it’s a very large portion given the price stated so good value and good quality too! Nice staff too, although it was a loud venue it was quite clearly popular which was a good sign. Very good atmosphere, would return again.

Drinks and tapes were good, what we ordered but all three main courses didn't taste good.

Gran bar de tapas. Personal muy amable y un servicio súper rápido. Buena comida y vino y realmente a un precio razonable. Tomamos 7 tapas más pan una botella de vino y llegamos a 70 euros inc propina. ¡Qué no te gusta!

Delicious and many different tapas. The Serrano ham has lost a bit of its flavor because it has been fried (or deep-fried?). That was a bit of a shame. The garlic cream and the goat cheese with honey, on the other hand, are super good! Unfortunately, instead of the Hefeweizen I ordered, I received a Pils in a wheat beer glass. This is a bit strange and unfortunately not wheat beer.
