MS Utting on bridge Lagerhausstrasse in München

We bought two drinks – a total of €9, including €7 for the drinks and a €2 deposit. When we later tried to return the bottles, the waiter didn't refund the deposit but instead charged us another €2. It's absolutely incomprehensible how a restaurant could employ such an unfriendly and unprofessional person. It was a very unpleasant and disappointing experience.

Unique location with the ship. We were here for the first time for the Night of Music. We loved the atmosphere. We'll be back again.

Alte Utting is absolute madness in the best way possible. Imagine stumbling across a full-sized old boat stranded on an overpass, and instead of calling the authorities, everyone just turns it into the coolest bar in Munich. Climb aboard for drinks with a view, then wander down into the backyard—like a festival crashed into a secret garden. Tents, mismatched tables, strange seating arrangements that somehow all work… it’s got that perfect “we’re not sure what’s happening but we love it” energy. Such a fun, weird, unforgettable place to end the night. If you’re into quirky vibes, creative spaces, and drinking beer on a boat above street level, this is your spot.

Really interesting concept of having a boat on a bridge. Couldn't stay for food, and the crowd was quite less given that it was Monday evening.

Had a great night there with some friends. Pizza was affordable, super quick to make and just fantastic. Cocktails were a little overpriced for what they were but if you stick to beer, you should be fine. Lots of cool little bars and places, much space for outdoor sitting. I enjoyed it

Was here for a 50th birthday party. The location is unique—remarkable that something like this exists in Munich. The food was very decent. The drinks were fresh and plentiful. This is a great place to stop for a beer, or two, or more. The vegetarian options deserve a special mention—they're really good!

Very bad! Bad pizza! Bad lying service! I reserved a table on March 23, 2025 at 3 p.m. Sunday because my previous experience in Alte Utting was positive. This time it was very bad and not recommended. Pizza very bad and harmful to health: I got a pizza that was already ready, no mozzarella and put on top and the previous rocket on top and covered again with rocket. Pizza was cold, terrible taste, the ham was no longer good. Instead of 12 euros, the service employee charged 15 euros without a deposit, even though I gave a plus tip. First I had to pay, then I got the pizza. But there are no tips for pizza like this. No cutlery if I wanted it, no more salviete like 2 pieces. Drinks deposit didn't come to my account plus but extra minus even though enough tip was given. So the deposit is double, I paid twice. It's just my experience, hopefully there are still employees there who are hospitable. The female employee was ok, but unfortunately the male employee wasn't. LG Anfisia

Considering that we have been living in Munich for over 15 years, we have only now managed to stop by the "Alte Utting". Very cool atmosphere. You can usually find your place wherever it is free. There are various dining options beyond African and Italian cuisine. You have to get the food yourself from the respective stands and can enjoy it at your seat. The pizzas are freshly prepared and taste great. For children there is also stick bread or fries. There are all kinds of drinks for all tastes. In terms of price it's okay. You can also pay with card everywhere!!! We will definitely stop by again in the summer. Gladly again👍🏼

For my birthday, I rented the outdoor yurt for the evening. Apparently 30-35 people fit in, although I would say more like 15 if you want to offer everyone a place to sit. There is a small wood stove, which was already on when I arrived. There was also enough firewood. Everything was very uncomplicated and comfortable. Contact with Vanessa from Event Management was also very uncomplicated and friendly! Definitely a recommendation. Thank you!

Great location, great idea. Various very appealing food stalls. It's probably fantastic in the summer. Not really my cup of tea during the colder months, but that's a matter of taste.

In principle, the old Utting is a nice idea. There is something about putting a discarded ship on a bridge and managing it accordingly. The ambience in summer, when you can sit outside, is also much better than in winter. Not possible outside and only below average heating inside. The food options listed on the website are either not there or the selection is so limited that nothing would have appealed to us. All in all a bit shabby and not well maintained. Probably more for young people and students.

I don't think I've ever seen such a disgusting place in Munich. The ship on the bridge alone is an eye-catcher, but all the little paths and opportunities to explore the place felt so exciting. My family and I went to the African Miracle Kitchen, which offers very delicious food. No matter whether with or without meat. We also had pretzel bread, something I've never had before but was definitely worth a try. The range of seating options and food makes this place really appealing, no matter your taste.

Very cool thing on an old boat. Were invited there for a birthday. A bit difficult to find the room you're looking for. Unfortunately the stairs were very icy and therefore dangerously slippery. Food was good. Staff very nice!

We had a great time at Alte Utting. This is definitely a unique place to visit! It has its own vibe. There is no one restaurant inside or smth like that, it's more of a place for everyone to stay in and get in love the atmosphere. You can borrow some board games, eat pizza or crepes from the food tents outside or order the bevereges just inside. There is also a lot of places both inside and outside of the boat. I do recommend this place for visiting at least for it's unique design and style!

Self service, 4.30 + 1 Euro Pfand for bottled beer... And they have the nerve to ask for a tip on the card machine.

I love Alte Utting. Your atmosphere. The opportunity to reserve parts such as the upper deck for celebrations for just EUR 25 minimum spend. The relaxed bartenders. The different food stalls. More for hipsters and relaxed people. Anyone looking for luxury here is in the wrong place.

A really unusual place for Munich that captivates you with its charm and diversity! Even from far away, old Uttig looks like something out of a Baron Munchausen story! A huge ship that suddenly appears on a bridge, like in a fake movie! Outside the ship there are colorfully decorated and illuminated beer benches and shipping containers in which there are bars or snack stands. And in the old Uttig you will find two cozy rooms with self-service in the ship's own bar! A really very special place where people from all ages and backgrounds come together!

The ship on the bridge is an extraordinary backdrop and a very nice location to linger. In summer, long evenings can be enjoyed with a drink or two; in winter, a curling rink (artificial rink) invites you to enjoy activities together.

Super cool restaurant that's built in and around a boat on a bridge. Staff were very friendly and house-made drinks (like the hot chocolate) were quite good, unfortunately a bit on the pricy side. The inside of the boat is also slightly chilly if you visit in the winter. Can't comment on the food, but imagine it would be nice to visit here in the summer when the patios are open.

It's nice and quaint inside. Outside it is perfect for 1-drölf drinks in the sun or at sunset. Luckily only card payment.

Great location to have a drink with friends and colleagues! If you're hungry, you can get something warm on your hand at one of the many food stalls😋 My personal recommendation: the Neapolitan pizza!

A fairly rare water vehicle relatively centrally in Munich, in which you can also eat and drink. There is another one outside the German museum, but it has no real function. We only briefly walked through the top of the boat, so I can't report on the food or service. But the location is something special that you should see when you are in Munich. Right next to it there is a small, cozy Christmas market and in the summer, I think, a small but nice beer garden.

I celebrated my birthday there last year. Very relaxed atmosphere with lots of space and pleasant live music. I'm already looking forward to my next visit there!

Funky bar housed within a decommissioned boat atop a railroad bridge. They have a cosy, multi-level indoor section and a large outdoor space with food stalls, a fire pit and some games. Really fun place! Food stalls seem to close early in winter - we were there around 7 and only the pizza place and the curry shop were open. We got a couple of rice bowls from there to eat inside, prices were very reasonable too.

Great idea to put a pleasure boat on a bridge. There is also plenty of space for catering and installations. But you can only pay by card, even the deposit is transferred back to your account. Prices are relatively high, but that shouldn't be surprising given the location.

The Alte Utting is the coolest location in Munich! There are various hot and cold drinks on the ship itself. There are various food huts in the stalls around, from African to Bavarian dishes. My kofta tasted great and the potato wedges with it were also good. We come here regularly. Always a good cultural program.

Scandal - No cash payment possible! Not even when it's appropriate. Only for card fanboys! The ship was booked for a private party anyway: unfortunately you have to stay outside. Well then, there are plenty of other Christmas markets - hello!!!!

Super cozy in an undiscovered place in Munich

Rustic, cozy location, a nice alternative to the other Christmas markets that are now pretty much the same! Here the focus is more on honest craftsmanship, punch *without* alcohol and not lavish gastro, but good (e.g. pizza from the wood-fired oven!)

Regardless of the time, Alte Utting is simply a perfect place to meet up with friends! Unfortunately, I'm there far too rarely, but making myself comfortable with music in the summer or with mulled wine in the winter is simply wonderful!

A very cosy vibe with a variety of food stalls and seating options. Some undercover but mostly open air. The boat is a fun icon of this venue and the live music was really enjoyable. A fun place to catch up with friends or just sit and enjoy the atmosphere alone.

A boat on top of a bridge, inside it is like a pub to have a drink, we loved the experience, at the exit you have a space to eat pizza, games, photomaton, etc. Highly recommend.

Really a nice ship :) The potato soup was really tasty and you have a really great view. The only inconvenient thing is that there is only one bar and it is difficult to get drinks because you can't get into the bar room when there is a lot going on.

Accusing guests of theft after several hundred euros in sales have been made is a very unpleasant way to end an evening. Unfortunately, Arthur misbehaved here and made unjustified accusations. This type of behavior should not be tolerated by the owner, as this behavior towards guests damages their reputation. Too bad.

The Alte Utting is an extraordinary place where we felt very comfortable. The food was outstanding! There is the actual ship, where various rooms invite you to dine, as well as several food stalls and tents where you can relax. We were there in winter, when a campfire also created a special atmosphere. We tried African cuisine, which is tucked away behind the ship. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back - such unique places are a rarity these days.

This place is first of all dirty and the pizza is not well backed, the dough was raw.

It's a really weird place, independent food stalls making delicious food and the boat is the pub. They give you little tokens, one for each drink, to encourage you to return the bottle or glass your drink is in. Each token is worth €1. Well worth a visit.

Amazing atmosphere, perfect place to hang out with friends. Many food options, a very special place in Munich. I had the Mango-Hähnchen at the Afrikanische Zauberküche and the portion wasn’t that big, but the taste was stupendous.

Very pretty on the outside, very abandoned inside. I waited 20 minutes in case I received information or something but no one came. I left the place without eating. I wanted to buy a drink and they DO NOT accept cash. That was my experience.

A boat in the middle of the city If you are looking for a special location, this is the right place. In an old ship you can sit together on different levels and chat, order food and your favorite drink. You can also rent a room for private groups. There is also an outdoor area in front of the ship and on top of the open deck. It has a special charm, I particularly liked the lower engine room.

Alternative beergarden with a tourist ship from Ammersee thats been lifted onto a Bridge ;) Lots of artisanal food trucks around, options range from vegan ice cream with toppings to burritos, bowls and chips with dips.

One of my favourite places in Munich! It has a large surface on the bridge and it is beautiful in every corner, so, although it is usually rather full, you will always find a place to sit and enjoy it. I prefer clearly the outdoors space, as the inside of the boat feels like it echoes too much. You have to wait often in long lines for the food kiosks, but I would say that it is worth it. I highly recommend the Pizza, which I prefer every time. The Crepe that I once tried was too small and empty for its price. The prices are also generally good.
