Best pizza I've ever eaten. Number 1 in Germany.

I've never eaten such good Italian food as here, not even in Naples. We only wanted pizza, but it turned into so much more. Whether it's antipasti, pizza, dessert, even the coffee is heavenly. We drove two hours to get here, and I'll gladly do it again and again. We're never going to another Italian restaurant!

Ordered for the first time today. We are absolutely delighted. We pre-ordered at lunchtime so we could get our food at the desired time. It worked perfectly. The pizzas were delicious. The mixed appetizers were very high quality. We'll be ordering again soon. Thank you!

For me, this is the best pizza in North Rhine-Westphalia, if not in all of Germany. Unfortunately, I don't get to enjoy this pizza very often, but when I do, I enjoy it all the more. The dough is particularly outstanding.

Absolutely disappointing! I ordered my pizza online half an hour in advance and showed up on time, assuming the order was ready. But I was wrong: I had to wait another 20 minutes on the spot, only to be told by the employee that the pizza *still* wasn't ready. This is unacceptable. I canceled the order. In total, I drove 30 kilometers for nothing. Such lousy service is unacceptable. This was definitely the last time for me – never again!

The pizza was top-notch as always, but when we opened the lasagna at home, we were unfortunately very disappointed, as it resembled an old shoe more than a dish from Mr. Pizza. The lasagna was definitely not freshly made and had been baked before, as it was extremely dry and burnt, and there was no sign of the béchamel sauce. I think if we had eaten in-house, we would never have been served the lasagna like this, as it doesn't really live up to Mr. Pizza's standards.

Hi I was not there personally but my son was there 3 times and was incredibly satisfied with the pizza. It's about 38 km to the pizzeria and I will definitely try it.

This was honestly the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life. You get that full Italian feeling here, with the waiters being incredibly friendly. And the prices are unbeatable.

Don't let the restaurant's name mislead you. This isn't your run-of-the-mill chain! At Mr. Pizza, the dough is allowed to rest for 48 hours and they use a particularly digestible yeast. The tomato sauce is also full of flavor. We enjoyed the Neapolitan pizzas exceptionally well. The browning and toasted flavors are perfectly balanced. The dough is crispy on the outside and airy on the inside – simply wonderful. The appetizer (meatballs) and the pizza rolls were also impressive. I can also recommend the pistachio tiramisu, the Italian beer, and the espresso. The staff is friendly and creates a positive atmosphere. You immediately feel welcome and receive good advice. The ambiance is relatively simple. The background music is lively and modern. There is a small outdoor area, but it is uncovered and is located directly on the main street. Card payments are accepted. Parking is relatively easy in the adjacent side streets. Reservations are recommended to avoid waiting; it is usually quite busy. We paid less than €60 for a starter, two pizzas, a dessert, and four drinks. We found the value for money to be very good. It's a shame that the pizzeria is quite far from the city center, but we'll definitely be back.

A very family-friendly atmosphere and incredibly delicious pizza – the dough (base and crust) was perfect, as were the toppings. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and fun – you can tell they're real professionals. We were there on a Friday evening; the small restaurant was packed and therefore quite loud. It didn't bother us, but it might be good to know for other guests. My boyfriend and I had a really lovely evening, lots of fun, and it was simply delicious. I recommend Mr. Pizza especially to anyone who appreciates authentic Neapolitan pizza style, loves fresh ingredients, and doesn't want mass-produced pizza.

A great pizzeria in itself. Creative recipes and delicious combinations. I keep coming back. However, I have a few criticisms: 1. On one or two occasions, our pizzas were very dark (sometimes even black in places). 2. I miss the online/PayPal payment option via the website. 3. Times are rarely kept when pre-ordering. There is always the option to select a time on the website. So far, our pizzas have usually been ready (much) too early (today, 1.5 hours). 4. The pick-up area is very cramped.

I've been to many pizzerias – from Hamburg to Munich – but Mr. Pizza in Dortmund tops them all. This was by far the best pizza I've ever eaten in Germany! The moment you enter, you feel the warm, family atmosphere. Bruno, the owner, is a true Italian with heart and soul. You immediately feel welcome – as if you were invited to a friend's or family's house. His passion for good food and hospitality is absolutely palpable. Now for the pizza (see picture): An absolute dream! The crust is slightly burnt – but that's exactly what gives the pizza that authentic, Neapolitan wood-fired character. The dough is fluffy, with the perfect texture and flavor. The combination of fresh mozzarella, tender pieces of salmon, sweet and sour oven-baked tomatoes, and a homemade chili jam, which seems to be a real secret recipe, is simply brilliant. This sweet and spicy sauce takes everything to a new level! Everything is just perfect here – quality, service, and atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. Grazie mille, Bruno – that was truly amazing!

Today was our first time here. The pizzas look great, but unfortunately they don't taste as good as they look. The pizza dough tastes off. The pizza rolls are cold, the butter is runny, and there's no salt. The staff is rude. We wanted to eat there, but unfortunately we were told there were no tables available. So we took the pizza with us. While we were waiting, a family came in. They were asked if they had a reservation. They said no, but they were still assigned a table. I find that very cheeky. Hence the poor rating for the staff and no rating for the ambiance.

We were here for the first time today. Pizza Margherita Pizza with anchovies. With Lambrusco. Everything was top-notch!!! And the service staff was really friendly! Thank you. 🥰

We had a reservation, but the restaurant seemed to care little. After waiting for over 30 minutes without any information or even a glass of water, we were simply told it would take "at least twice as long." No consideration, no apology—just ignorance. After about 40 minutes, we left. Any reaction? None. Perhaps they were relieved that they didn't have to make any more effort. If you enjoy feeling mistreated and left standing, this is the place to be.

For me, this is the best Neapolitan pizza outside of Italy I've ever eaten. It tastes simply fantastic; I'd love to come back. The only thing I don't like so much is that it's quite cramped. But the food is so good that I'm happy to overlook that.

The service was initially nice, but we were immediately sent away when the waiter saw that we had paid so that other customers could sit there (in a truly rude tone). The pizza was nothing special; the crust was extremely thin, and the tomato sauce was truly unappealing; it tasted like a ready-made sauce from the supermarket. When I finished the pizza, I immediately got a stomach ache. I think either the crust wasn't cooked through or the toppings weren't fresh. The stomach ache lasted the entire day afterward. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it; there are much better pizzas out there, especially for the price.

I did my Erasmus in Witten and at least once a month the call and nostalgia of home took me to Mr. PIZZA. Excellent pizza... it doesn't seem like you're in Germany but in Italy in a high quality pizzeria! Good and light pizza...! A guarantee!!!

I've now updated my first review to 5*. It was originally 3* because it was often burnt and the crust was dry. We've been ordering there for over 20 years and know the original pizza. The pizza has gotten so much better. The dough is much softer, tastier... the arugula pizza is a dream... and yes, now it truly deserves to be the best pizza in Germany... Now it's getting even more crowded ;-) **We always say please bring it out earlier, and it always works***

Pasta only has 3-4 spaghetti strands per plate. €18 for that is a bit cheeky in my opinion. Tastes like Maggi 5-minute meals. First and last time.

Very tasty pizza. We've always followed the recommendations so far, and it's been worth it! The salads are fresh and delicious, especially thanks to the dressing. Dessert was a truly pleasant surprise (pistachio lava cake)! They come with pizza rolls; the dough is very good, as is the herb butter! We took the food to go once, and it was also very tasty, but we recommend eating it in!

I am absolutely disappointed. I placed an order and was at home the entire time - but apparently I was "not present" and the order was simply canceled. Nobody rang the bell, nobody called, absolutely nothing. Something like that doesn't work at all. If the driver doesn't feel like it or there are problems, then I at least expect honest communication - and not an excuse like that. For me that was the last time. Very dubious and disrespectful towards paying customers. Too bad. Additionally, the owner's reactions to the reviews are passive aggressive and embarrassing. Remember - this is an adult person 😂

I've been to Gino Sorbillo and Michele's in Naples before, but I like this pizza even better. This is really awesome. The pizzas are works of art in themselves. The homemade pistachio tiramisu is also great. I'll try one of the pasta dishes soon

It used to be good, but since they won this competition or something, they've been increasing the prices all the time. And when you want to have it delivered, sometimes people just don't come and turn off their phone. It's a shame if success kills the service...
