We often ate at Morgenstern with the family and always had a very good impression and were served quickly. The last time, however, we were kept waiting a bit, customers who came after us received the food they ordered and were served quicker, the food was okay for the price and a bit disappointing, and afterwards each of us had quite a bit of stomach problems (everyone has it another dish). There's nothing bad to say about the cake, still a great selection. I actually wouldn't choose Morgenstern again for lunch or dinner; I'll pick up cake there from time to time.

Went to Morgenstern after our visit to the summer toboggan run. Service was top and quick. Food was good and plentiful. One point is deducted because the sheep's cheese we ordered was unfortunately cold and was sent back. It was ok the second time, but personally I wouldn't have wanted to eat it that way. But it was ok for my girlfriend. A recommendation is probably the Greek farmer's schnitzel. The tagliatelle with chanterelles were good...no sand from the chanterelles in the sauce. You can definitely take another look here.

Food, cake, atmosphere, view and service... TOP RESTAURANT

I can't recommend the Morgenstern restaurant and café. I ate a piece of Frankfurt Kranz. In my opinion, the dough was far too thick and the jam was very spartan in the cake. The buttercream, on the other hand, was very good.

Beautiful location in a fantastically beautiful setting. The cake was from another planet. The service was very friendly and attentive. We would be happy to come back

Completely overpriced cake, which unfortunately wasn't quite as fresh. Service is virtually non-existent, which unfortunately makes the view no longer good. Very outdated inside and tables very close together. It's a shame, we really hoped for more!

Nice excursion restaurant in the Odenwald. Friendly and courteous service. We had the roast veal with spaetzle - delicious! The side salad was also very good. Normal price level. It's very nice to sit outside.

Very pretty here with a nice beer garden. The food tastes good and is brought to the table quickly. (For cakes, baked goods, etc.) It can only take a little longer at lunchtime. The view is really nice, but it's usually pretty crowded here (which is understandable given the good food).

I like being there because of the great view from the beer garden. Food was okay, but neither the food nor the service was particularly great.

I haven't tried their food, but it's nice to drink coffee outside and watch the view.

The asparagus was completely unseasoned, the pork fillet was fried to death, only the cake buffet was convincing and the service was friendly

Without the great view it would just be an ordinary restaurant. Lunch is okay, but not great. The cakes and tarts that we have tried so far have all been delicious. It's best to sit outside and enjoy the view.

We have been there several times now, for dinner or just for coffee, and have always been very satisfied. Large selection of cakes 👍

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier. Ein Grund waren die überwiegend positiven Bewertungen, die für uns nun nicht nachvollziehbar sind. Wir hatten für 12:30 Uhr einen Tisch bestellt (am Fenster). Freundlich wurde meine Frau am Telefon darauf hingewiesen, dass wir dann um 12:00 Uhr kommen müssten. Bei unserer Ankunft (Ostersamstag) herrschte allerdings gähnende Leere und wir waren die ersten Gäste. Die Servicekraft legte erst einige Zeit nach unserem Eintreffen, ohne jeglichen Kommentar, die Speisekarten auf den Tisch. Kein „Guten Tag“ keine Frage danach, ob wir etwas zu trinken möchten. Das Ambiente des Lokals (wir waren im Panorama-Saal) ist nicht ansprechend und wirkt völlig überaltert. Alles wirkt sehr abgenutzt. Dafür sind die Preise, für das was geboten wird, völlig unangemessen und erheblich überteuert. Meine Frau hatte Spaghetti Garnelen für 19,80 € bestellt. Der dazugehörende Salat kam aus dem Kühlschrank und war offensichtlich mehrere Tage alt, welk, und schwamm im Dressing. Die Garnelen waren zwar reichlich, dafür aber völlig geschmacklos. Meine bestellte „Odenwälder Bauernpfanne“ für 22,50 € war sein Geld in keiner Weise auch nur annähernd wert. Das viel zu dicke, innen nicht durchgegarte und qualitativ minderwertige Nackensteak war nicht essbar. Die Bohnen geschmacklos, die Bratkartoffeln dafür reichlich und in Fett schwimmend. Ansprüche habe ich keine großen, aber die „Odenwälder Bauernpfanne“ war ungenießbar. Es war nicht möglich, das bestellte Gericht gesittet zu essen, ohne dass etwas aus der Pfanne auf den Tisch viel. Ich hatte den Eindruck in einem XXL-Kiosk zu essen. Hauptsache die Menge stimmt. Mein Essen habe ich dann fast vollständig zurückgegeben. Auf die Frage der Bedienung ob es geschmeckt hätte, habe ich mit einem klaren „Nein“ geantwortet. Ein am Gast interessierter Wirt hätte sich dann zumindest beim Gast erkundet, was er denn zu bemängeln gehabt hätte. Aber weit gefehlt. Es hat niemanden im „Morgenstern“ interessiert. Fazit: Eine einzige Enttäuschung! Anspruch und Wirklichkeit klaffen hier nach unserer ganz persönlichen Meinung meilenweit auseinander.

Unfortunately, the piece of cream puff cake was extremely narrow for a whopping 4.80 euros This really annoyed us three women. Since it was my birthday I didn't want to cause any fuss. We were there on March 20th. Guest in the afternoon

Traditional, beautiful restaurant and café in the Odenwald. Owners and employees are very nice and friendly. Service very attentive. Food came within a very short time and was very tasty. The cake buffet with a large selection is also highly recommended 🙂. We always enjoy coming back.

A good restaurant. A bit old, the price of the food is now a little above average, the quality is good, but nothing more. Very crowded on Sundays, booking early is recommended. The service is always very committed and super fast, I can only praise it. The cake is praised by everyone, I haven't eaten it for a while - but here too the prices are at the upper end of what I saw...

We always liked going to the Morgenstern restaurant and enjoyed the great view and the good food. Unfortunately, the prices for dishes have become disproportionately more expensive. Charging 22.00 euros for a schnitzel with fries is outrageous. It's a shame but we won't go there anymore

Both in summer on the terrace (great view!) and in winter in the cozy fireplace room, the food is plentiful and good! German kitchen, open all day, delicious cake counter in the afternoon.

When there's a lot going on, you like to sit at the table with strangers and that can be enriching 👍. My table neighbors were very nice 😃

Popular excursion restaurant in the Odenwald, especially in summer you will be rewarded with a beautiful view on the terrace. The food is very good and completely successful, both the homemade cakes and tarts as well as the good home cooking with cooked cheese schnitzel and the like! The rooms seem old and a bit outdated. Depending on the day and time, you should definitely make a reservation if you want to get a place.

The cakes are amazing, the food is fresh and delicious. Taxidermied animals on the walls aren't for everyone.

So stelle ich mir Essen gehen vor. Sehr gute bürgerliche Küche. Prima Preise. Gute Aussicht. Parkplatz. Und drei Autominuten weiter die Sommerrodelbahn. Ach so, ein Odenwälder Veganer ist wie ein Skilehrer im Zölibat. Hier gibt's deftig und auch lecker Kaffe Kuchen Torte. Hier muss man gewesen sein.

Very unfriendly after the meal, no more coffee at around 8 p.m. even though the restaurant was still busy. Reason: coffee machine was already out, you could have asked before switching it off.

Super Essen, absolut gutes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis, würde sogar für das Essen eine 5+ geben, kann ich nur empfehlen. Rumpsteak war spitze.👌

Der Kuchen 🍰 war absolut Spitze und die Auswahl ist sehr gut,der Kaffee war auch sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich ,der Nachbartisch war vom Essen sehr angetan. Einen Besuch wert

leckeres Essen und die Kuchentheke super

Das Essen, egal ob Kuchenzeit, Mittag- oder Abendessenszeit ist wirklich lecker, lecker, lecker. Sehr gute, bodenständigige Küche im Odenwald mit einem fantastischen Weitblick. Im Sommer ist der "Biergarten" und die Sommerterrasse zu empfehlen. Im Herbst/Winter der Raum mit dem grünen Kachelofen 🤗. Das Personal ist top: flitzeschnell, urige Freundlichkeit und hilfsbereit. Leider in der Winterzeit keine Hunde erlaubt. Im Sommer nur draußen. Aber das war verständlich, da einfach zu viel Doggies sich drin tummelten. Preis/Leistung verdient Daumen hoch 👍👍👍. Weiter so.

Ein Gasthaus was den Namen verdient. Eine tolle Aussicht Richtung Norden über den Odenwald. Der Service ist freundlich, professionell und schnell. Das Essen hervorragend, das Fleisch war zart und Sehnen frei. Schweinefilet, Rumsteak, Schnitzel und Beilage sind excellent. Zur Zeit wird Oktoberfest Bier 6% angeboten. Wir waren vor Ort mit vier Familien und obwohl das Restaurant voll war, war die Wartezeit kurz. Und die Kuchen Auswahl ist sehr überzeugend 😃 ( siehe Bilder) Allem in allem top, gerne wieder.

Wegen Regen wurden wir nach innen verscheucht, was wir nicht wollten.

Essen top, Kuchen und Torten top. Waren mittwochs dort, sehr gut besucht. Reservierung empfohlen.

We hebben heerlijk buiten gegeten, het restaurant was vandaag drukbezocht. Maaltijd was heel goed, evenals de Himbeertorte. Let op: neem cashgeld mee als je uit het buitenland komt, het restaurant accepteert geen internationale betaalkaarten.

Unglaublich! Super leckeres Essen in XXL Portionen. Da bekommt man was für sein Geld geboten und das bei herrlich ländlicher Aussicht. Wer auf Schnitzel, Salate oder Pfifferlingsgerichte steht, ist hier genau richtig. Auch der Nachtisch war bombastisch viel und lecker. Ich wurde endlich Mal satt, so soll es sein! Die Bedienung hat auch in stressigen Situationen alles im Griff. An der Sauberkeit gibt es auch nichts zu bemängeln. Sollte irgendwas zu kritisieren sein wäre es zum einen den fehlenden barrierefreien Zugang, auch wenn es nur zwischen 3 und 5 Stufen sind, dennoch Gebehinderte Menschen damit Probleme haben, und zum anderen, dass am Waschbecken der Wasserhahn ein wenig zu kurz geraten ist. Die weite Reise hat sich definitiv gelohnt und ist wiederholenswert. Zu empfehlen wäre zuvor einen Tisch zu reservieren.

Wir waren zum Kaffee trinken und Kuchen essen im Morgenstern, wie immer alles sehr lecker und frisch. Wir konnten draußen sitzen und wurden von sehr freundlichem und aufmerksamen Personal bedient. Der Blick und die ruhige Lage ist einzigartig, es war ein sehr schöner entspannter und gemütlicher Nachmittag, so dass wir dann noch zum frühen Abendessen geblieben sind. Auch diese Essen waren alle sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne. Vielen Dank auch an das Personal, das wirklich viel Laufen muss.

Der Tisch etwas wackelig im Biergarten. Aber Essen absolut okay und sehr nette und schnelle Bedienung.

Ich war hier schon öfters essen nach einer Motorrad Tour. Es ist immer sehr lecker und gut bekömmlich. Man merkt das hier nach Omas Küche gekocht wird. Wer Probleme mit z.B. Histaminen hat, muss sich hier keine großen Gedanken machen. Ich kann aus eigener Erfahrung sagen das man hier bedenkenlos alles essen kann. Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch ;-).
