Yes, it's recommended, but the wait is a bit longer. The bratwurst with fries was very tasty. The bratwurst was well seasoned, I think it was homemade. Good value for money, and the cakes are simply amazing. Very large and tall cakes, highly recommended. I'll be back in the Odenwald for that reason alone.

Everything was good, the service, the food and the atmosphere were good, I just have some packet sauce at home and I expect more from a real chef!

We came here for dinner as a small hiking group. It's great that the kitchen is open all day. Five different dishes, and all delicious. The prices are a bit inflated for what you get.

We were riding our motorcycles in the Odenwald forest. We just wanted to take a short break. Unfortunately, we had to wait far too long for drinks, and the service wasn't particularly friendly. Prices are very high for the Odenwald region. The ambiance outside is beautiful, the view is rustic inside.

Yes, I would recommend it again. The ambiance is a bit older and rustic, but well-maintained. There's plenty of outdoor seating. There's a large parking lot in the courtyard behind. Hearty German food. Lots of delicious cakes. Good value for money. I had spaetzle with it. The meat was very tender.

We arrived 60 minutes before closing. Unfortunately, we were yelled at from across the street at the entrance to the beer garden, saying there was nothing left to eat and they were about to close. We just wanted a drink, so we stayed. We had an Aperol Spritz and a small fruit spritzer. The Aperol was too small and had hardly any alcohol. The price was way too high. I also find it unacceptable that dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant. It's somehow outdated. It's a real shame, because the beer garden's location with a view is otherwise beautiful.

We ate outside 5 weeks ago. Everything was excellent, great service, delicious cake! We went outside again today, and after 15 minutes, we still had no service! We left annoyed without coffee or cake!

Very good homemade, typical Odenwald fare. We went there for a lunchtime snack on a recommendation. It was well worth it. Beautiful beer garden with a panoramic view over the entire Odenwald. 😉

A traditional restaurant with a fantastic view in the Odenwald forest. Given the view and its excellent reputation, you shouldn't arrive without a reservation. The typical regional cuisine offers delicious dishes for lunch and dinner, with a highlight being the wonderfully delicious homemade cakes and tarts at coffee time. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We love to visit regularly; we highly recommend it!

I’ve been stopping at this lovely spot for the past five years whenever I drive through the Odenwald. It’s the perfect place for a refreshing drink, a slice of delicious homemade cake, or a hearty meal. The restaurant is quite popular, and the terrace offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The service is consistently friendly, which adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area. Prices are quite reasonable as well.

My spaghetti with shrimp was very good, the schnitzel dishes not so much.

The staff was friendly. We were served quickly and well. However, the food was disappointing. We had the asparagus recommendation with turkey schnitzel, potatoes and hollandaise sauce. The asparagus was very bitter, the potatoes were too dry, the hollandaise sauce tasted like nothing with a splash of wine.

We were traveling by motorbike in the Odenwald. The restaurant is very well located for a motorcycle tour and they have an absolutely wonderful beer garden with an incredible view. The food on offer is sufficient and tasty. The service was good and courteous! Next time, however, one thing is already clear to us: we will have one of these incredibly hot big cakes! What a selection and how great they look!

There is a great selection of cakes and tarts. You can sit comfortably in the sun and enjoy coffee and cake, definitely worth a visit. There are also enough parking spaces outside. We always enjoy coming back. Keep it up.

The service for children with a children's card to color in and matching colored pencils is great. We paid over €12 for a small spritzer, a children's ice cream and 1 piece of chocolate cream. I find that quite expensive. The cakes are freshly prepared and a large selection is offered. The service is friendly and quick. Dogs are not allowed. EC payment possible

In the Morgenstern you can sit in a rustic and comfortable way, sometimes with a magnificent view of the beautiful Odenwald. The food is very tasty and the staff is extremely friendly and very quick. It's best not to reserve a table beforehand, then you won't stand in the way of a pleasant and recommendable meal. Parking spaces are plentiful and available right next to the restaurant.

We often ate at Morgenstern with the family and always had a very good impression and were served quickly. The last time, however, we were kept waiting a bit, customers who came after us received the food they ordered and were served quicker, the food was okay for the price and a bit disappointing, and afterwards each of us had quite a bit of stomach problems (everyone has it another dish). There's nothing bad to say about the cake, still a great selection. I actually wouldn't choose Morgenstern again for lunch or dinner; I'll pick up cake there from time to time.

Went to Morgenstern after our visit to the summer toboggan run. Service was top and quick. Food was good and plentiful. One point is deducted because the sheep's cheese we ordered was unfortunately cold and was sent back. It was ok the second time, but personally I wouldn't have wanted to eat it that way. But it was ok for my girlfriend. A recommendation is probably the Greek farmer's schnitzel. The tagliatelle with chanterelles were good...no sand from the chanterelles in the sauce. You can definitely take another look here.

I can't recommend the Morgenstern restaurant and café. I ate a piece of Frankfurt Kranz. In my opinion, the dough was far too thick and the jam was very spartan in the cake. The buttercream, on the other hand, was very good.

Completely overpriced cake, which unfortunately wasn't quite as fresh. Service is virtually non-existent, which unfortunately makes the view no longer good. Very outdated inside and tables very close together. It's a shame, we really hoped for more!

Very pretty here with a nice beer garden. The food tastes good and is brought to the table quickly. (For cakes, baked goods, etc.) It can only take a little longer at lunchtime. The view is really nice, but it's usually pretty crowded here (which is understandable given the good food).

I like being there because of the great view from the beer garden. Food was okay, but neither the food nor the service was particularly great.

I haven't tried their food, but it's nice to drink coffee outside and watch the view.

Without the great view it would just be an ordinary restaurant. Lunch is okay, but not great. The cakes and tarts that we have tried so far have all been delicious. It's best to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier. Ein Grund waren die überwiegend positiven Bewertungen, die für uns nun nicht nachvollziehbar sind. Wir hatten für 12:30 Uhr einen Tisch bestellt (am Fenster). Freundlich wurde meine Frau am Telefon darauf hingewiesen, dass wir dann um 12:00 Uhr kommen müssten. Bei unserer Ankunft (Ostersamstag) herrschte allerdings gähnende Leere und wir waren die ersten Gäste. Die Servicekraft legte erst einige Zeit nach unserem Eintreffen, ohne jeglichen Kommentar, die Speisekarten auf den Tisch. Kein „Guten Tag“ keine Frage danach, ob wir etwas zu trinken möchten. Das Ambiente des Lokals (wir waren im Panorama-Saal) ist nicht ansprechend und wirkt völlig überaltert. Alles wirkt sehr abgenutzt. Dafür sind die Preise, für das was geboten wird, völlig unangemessen und erheblich überteuert. Meine Frau hatte Spaghetti Garnelen für 19,80 € bestellt. Der dazugehörende Salat kam aus dem Kühlschrank und war offensichtlich mehrere Tage alt, welk, und schwamm im Dressing. Die Garnelen waren zwar reichlich, dafür aber völlig geschmacklos. Meine bestellte „Odenwälder Bauernpfanne“ für 22,50 € war sein Geld in keiner Weise auch nur annähernd wert. Das viel zu dicke, innen nicht durchgegarte und qualitativ minderwertige Nackensteak war nicht essbar. Die Bohnen geschmacklos, die Bratkartoffeln dafür reichlich und in Fett schwimmend. Ansprüche habe ich keine großen, aber die „Odenwälder Bauernpfanne“ war ungenießbar. Es war nicht möglich, das bestellte Gericht gesittet zu essen, ohne dass etwas aus der Pfanne auf den Tisch viel. Ich hatte den Eindruck in einem XXL-Kiosk zu essen. Hauptsache die Menge stimmt. Mein Essen habe ich dann fast vollständig zurückgegeben. Auf die Frage der Bedienung ob es geschmeckt hätte, habe ich mit einem klaren „Nein“ geantwortet. Ein am Gast interessierter Wirt hätte sich dann zumindest beim Gast erkundet, was er denn zu bemängeln gehabt hätte. Aber weit gefehlt. Es hat niemanden im „Morgenstern“ interessiert. Fazit: Eine einzige Enttäuschung! Anspruch und Wirklichkeit klaffen hier nach unserer ganz persönlichen Meinung meilenweit auseinander.

Unfortunately, the piece of cream puff cake was extremely narrow for a whopping 4.80 euros This really annoyed us three women. Since it was my birthday I didn't want to cause any fuss. We were there on March 20th. Guest in the afternoon

A good restaurant. A bit old, the price of the food is now a little above average, the quality is good, but nothing more. Very crowded on Sundays, booking early is recommended. The service is always very committed and super fast, I can only praise it. The cake is praised by everyone, I haven't eaten it for a while - but here too the prices are at the upper end of what I saw...

We always liked going to the Morgenstern restaurant and enjoyed the great view and the good food. Unfortunately, the prices for dishes have become disproportionately more expensive. Charging 22.00 euros for a schnitzel with fries is outrageous. It's a shame but we won't go there anymore

Both in summer on the terrace (great view!) and in winter in the cozy fireplace room, the food is plentiful and good! German kitchen, open all day, delicious cake counter in the afternoon.
