Moon Sushi Bar in Bad Kissingen

Really a shame. We know moon from NES and wanted to try it out in Bad Kissingen. Despite making a reservation and showing up on time, the receptionist said: “Waiting time 20 minutes”…

My absolute favorite restaurant on the entire planet. No joke. If I had the money I would get food there every day. Is definitely recommended, the staff is also super super friendly. Since I'm there so often, it almost feels like family 😂🙏 Sushi Moon is the first restaurant to create the perfect sushi. At no other restaurant I have tried so far were the nori sheets so tender! In general everything is perfect there.

Food top! Very fresh, very tasty and plenty of choice, The service is a disaster, the new employees are unmotivated and they don't care about the well-being of the guest. You don't have to be a professional to be friendly and guest-oriented. The young man took our order, which was obviously difficult because of the seating (a table for two directly in front of the drinks dispenser) as it was very loud there. But you like to repeat it a second or third time. We still got the wrong food. That was also very tasty and a nice change ;) My partner's main course wasn't brought at all. Because there was a mix-up here. (What can happen, a simple ask could have helped. But we would only be watched with evil looks from the counter. In the end, the young man didn't serve us anymore and someone else (who had been there for a while) charged us, he was friendly and nice, we then decided to still give the new waiter a tip, despite the few Mistakes and a lack of motivation (maybe he just had a bad day) So we called him over again and gave him his tip and thanked him for his work. He said: Yes. Ok.... And left. There couldn't have been a worse reaction. With that he shot the bird. Conclusion: we would rather go to NES and eat there or just order and eat at home. Because something like that ruins your whole meal. Food is great, but service is a flop!

In the heat, I actually wasn't hungry at all, let alone hungry. But I had to eat something. The boss gave me great advice! The avocado salad was great and so were the summer rolls. My partner treated himself to a coconut curry. And we were definitely not there for the last time. The ambience, the price-performance ratio and the service are great.

We have been there several times now. The quality was always high. The ambience has a certain charm. By chance we wanted to take something to go and were very pleasantly surprised by the stylish ambience that had a big city feel. We were served quickly even though the bar was already full 30 minutes after opening. Crunchy Sushi 50 & 51 were very tasty and completely sufficient for us per person (6 of them).

The main dishes we tried were also very good. Duck with various sauces, moon platter for 2 people, crispy rolls, all very tasty. If the weather is good, you can also eat outside, which is highly recommended as it gets warm quickly in the main room. We were here twice and were not disappointed. We'll definitely be back. The food was incredibly tasty and fresh, I have rarely had such delicious sushi. I can only recommend the Monn Sushi Bar. To be on the safe side, you should make a reservation as it is apparently very popular. It's not that cheap, but you don't treat yourself to anything else when you're on a short vacation near Bad Kissingen. So try it, it's great. (You can also order something and pick it up for home or something)

Why only one star when so many people report good experiences? First I would like to report on my experiences: Eat: The food was quite ok, I had the #71, the Miso Ramen and the M1 Dragon Rolls. More expensive to fairly fair for the price. However, the dessert was served with moldy fruit, which is absolutely not okay in my opinion. This makes me question the freshness of the food and its proper preparation. Service: While we were there, a guest vomited, but it was ignored at all, almost ignored - just like at our table, which was skillfully ignored after repeated eye contact and clear signs for payment. Apparently they were involved in a heated discussion with colleagues and we had to get up and turn to the waitress, although it took a while to finally serve us. The waitress who paid us was really rather stressed and unfriendly. She gave us the feeling that she wanted to drive us away from the table as quickly as possible in order to make room for other customers, even though we kept to the time we were allowed to occupy the table. Ambiance: The first impression is quite nice. However, there are a few shortcomings: The toilets were completely dirty and even after a while no employee made any effort to clean them for comfortable use. We didn't have any space at our table either - in the end we were sitting in the middle of two other tables with no real room to breathe. Given the relatively high prices, I think the restaurant doesn't do justice to it.

Also ich finde das Ambiente sehr gut und die Atmosphäre ist auch gut. Ich gehe hier öfters essen und das Essen schmeckt wie immer sehr lecker. Auch wenn viel los ist, ist das Essen schnell da. Es gibt sehr viel Auswahl an Sushi auch an Nudelgerichten, etwas schärferen Gerichten, Suppen, Bubble Tea, Nachspeisen wie z.B. gebackenes Eis oder Mochi-Gerichte. Die Moon Crunchy Rolls sind sehr zu empfehlen und die Tom Kha Gai Suppe auch, sowie die Gyoza Teigtaschen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und immer freundlich. :)

Das Essen war bisher immer lecker, hab aber schon besseres Sushi für den gleichen Preis gegessen. Der Service.. naja sind auf jeden Fall alle freundlich! Musste aber schon sehr oft lange auf mein Essen warten, auch wenn ich to-go bestellt hatte und zur richtigen Zeit da war - Grund hierfür war häufig, dass was bei den Bestellungen durcheinander gebracht wurde und noch nachbereitet werden musste. Einmal hat etwas komplett gefehlt, obwohl ich es bezahlt hatte. Also Fazit, ich werde weiterhin dort Essen gehen, aber immer genau darauf achten, was ich bestellt hatte und viel Zeit einplanen.
