It’s rare to find a place where each dish is both beautifully presented and full of rich, balanced flavors. We started with soup and sushi – fresh, delicate, and expertly made. The duck curry was a highlight: tender, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. For dessert, we shared both the crème catalonia and the matcha tiramisu – both were creative, delicious, and a perfect way to end the meal. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, making it a great spot for a romantic evening. We’ll definitely be back soon – highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience in Leipzig!

I was staying at the adjacent hotel for a conference and went to eat at MITO in the evening. The food and drinks were all fresh, delicious, and the service and ambiance were topped off! I'd love to go back again sometime.

We were here for my birthday, and I'm impressed. From start to finish, everything was perfect. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our seats. There was a huge selection, but I received excellent advice and opted for the Salmon on Fire. Simply fantastic! Great service, great food!

We went out to eat with the whole family, including our little daughter. As soon as we entered, we were greeted very warmly and given excellent advice. We especially appreciated that our little one was also taken into consideration: The waiters gave us great recommendations and brought her some extra small Japanese chicken pieces, which she absolutely loved. I had the steak with truffle purée – an absolute highlight! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, with the creamy truffle purée that went wonderfully with it. Simply outstanding! A perfect place for a relaxed family meal where both adults and children will enjoy themselves. We will definitely be back!

I tried several rolls and was absolutely thrilled! Each roll is creative, perfectly rolled, and a little taste surprise. I particularly want to highlight the "Lady in Red Roll," a brilliant combination of sweet and spicy that harmonizes perfectly and lingers in your memory. The other rolls are equally impressive: fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautifully presented. You immediately notice that great emphasis is placed on quality and attention to detail. For me, this was one of the best sushi experiences in a long time—everything is just right! Absolutely recommended for all sushi fans who want more than just the standard fare.

We haven't been to Mito in a long time. We wanted to give it another try, but the menu had changed and the prices had gone up again! After 20 minutes, a server finally came. The rice was forgotten during the meal (this wasn't the first time this has happened to us) and only came when we asked. At one point, we almost died of thirst. No one asked for drinks. Conclusion: We won't be back. There are better and cheaper sushi restaurants these days.

After a thoughtful welcome, we immediately felt at home. Both the dumplings and the butter crab were fantastic starters. The butter crab was recommended to me, and I didn't regret following the recommendation! For main courses, we chose the duck and the seafood curry, and weren't disappointed. The service was attentive, and the Sauvignon Blanc was just right. I would return anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend Mito!

We visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday. The food was delicious, and we felt the value for money was reasonable. The amount of wasabi and ginger on a sushi platter for two people is simply too small. Before the sushi platter was served, we were offered some real wasabi grated at our table. With a bit of a show, about half a teaspoon of wasabi root was grated into a small bowl. We felt that this was added to our bill as a €9.00 wasabi extra was simply a rip-off, especially since it wasn't listed on the menu. If this hadn't been the case, we would have given it a full 5 stars, but unfortunately, we have to deduct two.

We were at Mito during the week at 7:30 p.m. The three of us ordered two small appetizers and main courses (no sushi). We had to wait an hour and a half for the appetizers and a total of two hours for our food. We were then told that the sushi master was just very busy. It's a shame that, apart from our request after over an hour, no one came to our table or gave us the information on their own. The place wasn't even full, which naturally raises the question: How long does it take? Should that be the case? We were satisfied with the taste, but the main courses were rather lukewarm. It's a shame that the service is so uncoordinated.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, it was very clean, and the staff was friendly. The only criticism would be that some dishes didn't come out as they were advertised on the menu. When we went out yesterday, we ordered crunchy sushi rolls. There were five different crunchy sushi roll dishes. Four were listed with cucumber and one without. We ordered the one without cucumber because my girlfriend doesn't eat cucumber. This dish, however, came with cucumber, and the employee said that some of the dishes weren't current and that this had happened a lot. I found that a bit silly because it was played down as if it were the customer's fault. Please update your menu correctly with all the ingredients for each dish. Thank you and best regards.

Mito is one of the best Asian restaurants in Leipzig. We had a few communication issues at first, but they quickly resolved themselves. Our requests were handled courteously and friendly. The food was very tasty, but might be too spicy for guests who don't like spicy food. It's best to ask before ordering. We'd be happy to come back.

Delicious sushi, just wish the pieces were bigger since they’re really pricey. Perfect for special occasions, and also maybe it’s just a bit far from the city center, but truly worthy to go there!

We ordered food and thought we'd treat ourselves; unfortunately, the first glance at the food was extremely disappointing. Little for the money, all mixed up, and not a particularly appealing combination for our taste. I wonder how the mixed tapas platter could cost €25... We had hoped for at least a few more highlights from the tapas selection, but instead we got bites of tempura shrimp, two gyoza, two baked dumplings, a roll, and a bit of wakame and edamame. None of these were of outstanding quality. I wouldn't have ordered that if I'd known which five "fusion tapas" they would be. The crab consisted primarily of breadcrumbs, the "Fantastic Four" appetizer was also not worth the money and was no longer recognizable as a meal. The €55 (!) definitely hurts, and I was neither happy nor full. I'm very annoyed and can't recommend it to anyone - it seems more like show than substance, even though the card sounded promising at first.

We initially thought we'd arrived at a good restaurant, but we were all very disappointed. The overall appearance was good, but despite the small number of people, the noise level was so loud that you couldn't even hear yourself. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks. But the wait for the food was simply outrageous. While other tables next to us were served three different courses, we waited two hours for our food. The food was cold and the portions were far too small for the price. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

It may be one of the best sushi restaurants in Leipzig. Then I must have just had a bad day. The food was very good. The service, however, was poor. We didn't get the food we ordered. The wait time was excessively long, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We had to wait an hour. I won't be coming back.

Asian cuisine on a different level. Away from the run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant with sweet and sour duck, and also away from the 4711 sushi restaurant. The menu is filled with too many good things. What to get? It doesn't matter, everything looks and tastes great. For my 84-year-old mom, would you prefer the duck not pink, rather well done? I'm happy...and the duck was still juicy and the skin nice and crisp. Service is a life-style here. From the table reservation to the farewell. Mom isn't used to the house soda and needs a taste? You guessed it...please! We'd be happy to come back, that's what we say, and a huge THANK YOU.

A definite recommendation for fans of Asian cuisine. Very friendly staff, a pleasant atmosphere, and good food. But only if you like Asian food. If someone in a group prefers European cuisine, it's unfortunately difficult. But the taste is truly top-notch.

The service really deserves a 6th star. The restaurant is nestled unassumingly in the middle of Zschortauer Straße; you'd almost drive right past it if you weren't going straight in. But then you're surprised by a modern, slightly more upscale ambiance. The value for money is good, a bit more expansive, but the food is worth it. This is fine dining and NOT an Asian bistro. The service is particularly noteworthy. We had someone with celiac disease (gluten allergy) at our table, and the staff were a) well-trained and b) extremely customer-oriented and patient. Highly recommended for gluten-free dining.

After reading all the glowing reviews, we came in with high expectations — and decided to treat ourselves accordingly: three starters to kick things off, a main each, and classic Japanese mochi to finish. The starters were a mixed bag. The aubergine? Delightfully silky, though it was begging for just a touch more salt. The vegetarian dumplings — steamed — were fine, but didn’t quite punch above average. My tuna tartare, on the other hand, missed the mark: over-marinated, drowning a bit under its own ambition, and with too much caviar on top. Also, the avocado wasn’t ripe — that green, slightly bitter tone dominated more than it should have. My main: duck with curry sauce. The vegetables were well-prepared, the sauce pleasant, but the duck itself leaned toward dry. A shame, because it had potential. My partner’s mango salad, sadly, was underwhelming — and not just in quantity. A handful of tiny mango slices were floating in a dressing that reappeared later as part of our dessert. Repetition is only charming when it’s intentional. Speaking of dessert, the mochi trio — chocolate, passion fruit, mango — were genuinely tasty, but had a distinctly store-bought feel. Not a dealbreaker, but when you’re at a restaurant in this price range, you hope for a homemade flourish. The service? Warm and welcoming, no complaints there. However, the timing was awkward: my partner received her starter nearly ten minutes before mine arrived. Sharing a meal means eating together — not watching each other eat. In total, we paid just under €100, including tip. Was it catastrophic? Definitely not. But the price-to-performance ratio didn’t quite match the hype for us. To be fair, the sushi on other tables looked impressive — enough that we’d give the place another shot. Maybe it just wasn’t our night. But if you’re heading in, go in with balanced expectations.

One of the best Asian restaurants...we love coming back again and again.

We had a very pleasant evening here as a family. The service was extremely friendly and never intrusive. The selection of dishes was very good, and the quality even better! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. They even grated fresh wasabi into a bowl at the table – a nice touch. The ambiance is fresh and new. I've already recommended it to others and will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere, staff very friendly and competent and the sushi from the master was incomparably delicious! We got 3 different wasabi: once pure from the tuber freshly grated at the table (surprisingly mild), once from the wasabi leaves and once from wasabi powder (mixed with water to form a mass). Please do not ask every guest if they want a bottle of water, this is very unprofessional and unpleasant. And if guests arrive at 1:30 p.m. you don't necessarily have to give a small table in an empty restaurant because they close at 3 p.m. anyway and have enough space. Otherwise everything is fine

One of the best Asian fusion restaurants far and wide. I like coming here. Incredibly delicious, diverse aromas and new tastes. The young team is very ambitious, attentive and extremely hospitable. It's rare these days. The quality of the food and preparation is convincing. You can get over the high prices or are they justified? Nevertheless, it must be clear that a visit to MITO will not be cheap.
