Mit Schmackes in Dortmund

We held our Christmas party (>30 people) at Schmackes. It was great - delicious food, friendly staff and hardly any waiting times for food and drink orders. Plus a restaurant furnished with real Ruhrpott charm. Absolute recommendation!

Hello everyone, This evening we visited the restaurant *Mit Schmackes* in Dortmund. The current special menu includes dishes with kale, so my choice fell on the kale schnitzel with fried potatoes - simply delicious! 🥰 Schnitzel fried top in the pan with delicious steamed kale and crispy (not greasy) fried potatoes and a side salad. The service was very pleasant and courteous. The BVB ambience fits very well, not obtrusively decorated. We'll definitely be back! Thank you very much!

Went to the home game against the farmers at Mit Schmackes today. Great atmosphere there, the whole team including the boss is always in a great mood and nice. The food today was also totally fresh and delicious and the portions were generous enough to accommodate a large appetite. Despite the full house, no one had to wait long for their food. I've been a fan of yours since my first visit. I particularly noticed Laura from the team today. Thank you for your warm friendliness and for always having a smile for the guests despite the stress. As a guest you really feel comfortable and well “cared for”.

We have reserved a table for 8 people. We were shown straight to our table and given a great welcome! The service and staff were great! It was a lot of fun talking to the (40-year-old) employee. Super friendly! The food was so delicious! The portion is more than enough. Will definitely come back!

We were there shortly after a BVB game and luckily had reserved a table beforehand. The store is very busy at these times. The service was great and very quick. The beer is freshly tapped and the food is delicious - we'll definitely come back when we're in Dortmund again :)

Unfortunately there are only 5 stars to give here. But the restaurant deserves 6 stars and more. Here you can get tasty dishes at a fair price. So everything is perfect. Thanks

It was my first time there and, with bad luck, also my last time due to the very long distance to Dortmund. I'm absolutely thrilled: the staff is top and absolute and the food couldn't be better. The price-performance ratio is absolutely great. It's a shame that I live so far away... I would be a regular guest!

Is it a pub or a restaurant? When you make a reservation you are given a period of 2 hours - then you have to leave the table. The times are stupid for people who don't want to eat at 6 or 8 p.m. The schnitzels are okay, the service is quick and friendly. The room is loud and moderately heated.

Very tasty, great schnitzel and great sports bar atmosphere... In addition to delicious food in the restaurant, there is a free exhibition (e.g. Kevin's kebab throw jersey 😜)

The staff is very nice and the service is good. The food and drinks come to the table quickly, the prices and the ambience are ok. The food, especially the schnitzels, is good average.

My schnitzel was very dry. The taste was quite good but far from juicy. And I thought it was way too expensive for something like that. I'd be better off having a frozen schnitzel made for me for a tenner. It's a shame but I'll try it again. I'm sure if the schnitzel wasn't so dry it would have been good.

Cool shop with very good service. The food is also great, the ambience is full of the Ruhr area... This is particularly interesting for groups from outside. For groups you have to reserve well in advance, that speaks for itself! Dortmund highlight!

I was there with my son before the game against Leipzig. There is nothing to complain about. Friendly, good cocoa, good beer, nice atmosphere, clean toilets, good food. Definitely again at the next home game.

I'm still sitting here at the table, processing how good this schnitzel was. Actually it was just intended as a little stopover on the way to a concert, now I don't know whether I came to Dortmund because of Sum41 or Mit Schmackes. The service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It may be over 200km... but I'll be back... even if it's the last thing I do.

There could be more grand cross in it. Unfortunately there is little from our Dortmund young people. Otherwise cool, style is nice.

As a celiac disease sufferer it is always difficult to find something safe to eat. The schnitzel was super tasty, I had the classic schnitzel with braised onions and fries. Food was great, in my opinion it was a bit loud and we were forgotten by the waiter 🙃 it can't be bad 🙈

I have to be honest, before I entered this store I was more than skeptical. Due to the proximity to football and Kevin Großkreutz's co-ownership, I was afraid that this shop would only be visited by a certain clientele who do not attach great importance to quality food and good service or ambience, but I was proven wrong. The schnitzels and the side dishes were fresh and tasted like they were homemade. The service also left nothing to be desired. The waiter was very friendly and answered every question about the food down to the smallest detail and never made us feel annoyed. My companion was also enthusiastic about the store, even though they weren't football fans and were therefore much more critical of the visit than I was. A companion was also very pleased with the large selection of vegetarian dishes. We were also very pleased with the ambience and had to smile about some of the details (the references to the alleged kebab throw or the radio plays in the toilet are particularly noteworthy here). Would I come back? I can clearly answer that with a yes!

Schönes Ambiente, coole Lokation, Ruhrpott-Style eben. Nettes Personal, dad auf Zack ist. Leckeres Bier und auch das Schnitzel hat an nix fehlen lassen. Nur mit der Mayo wart ihr echt was geizig ;) Rundum aber ein gelungener Besuch.

The food is great, value for money is great. The seats at the bar were uncomfortable and less suitable for eating. The service had to be approached to get a new drink.

It's a pub where Dortmund fans like to hang out. The food was good, had a tasty schnitzel. There are various beers to choose from. The waiters are relaxed and in a good mood. The places near the bar are not recommended for eating. We had been empty of beer for a while and had to ask the waiter to order something else. The price/performance is perfect.

It's just typical of the Ruhr area, relaxed atmosphere, rustic food, bar (!!!) busy... just come by, take a look and best of all, when BVB is playing, please make a reservation 😉

If you want to fill up, this restaurant with a “pub atmosphere” is the right place for you. Lavish and very delicious Ruhrpott-style food is served here at reasonable prices. It's great that many dishes are also vegetarian/vegan. We are always very satisfied and enjoy the ambience, the friendly service and the premises.

Personal ist mehr als aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir hatten acht verschiedene Essen, die alle wirklich perfekt waren. Die geschmorten Zwiebeln war vorher in Rotweinessig eingelegt, „Himmel und Äd“ war saftig, die Pommes ein Traum. Kommen gerne wieder.

Very nice shop. With a nice atmosphere. Little beautiful details everywhere. The volume could be a little quieter but it's okay. You can watch football on different televisions from any place. Very tasty food. I thought my schnitzel had a bit of a lack of fries but that was okay. I'd love to come back

We were here for dinner with a group of 5 people, the occasion was a rescheduled birthday party. Parking in the area is notoriously difficult due to the residential parking zones, so the nearby clinic parking garage is certainly one of the best alternatives. Our drink order was taken quickly and very friendly, the drink prices are quite moderate compared to other restaurants. However, the dishes we ordered convinced us that our choice of restaurant that evening was definitely the right one! The food was very tasty, generously portioned, and in combination with the continued very friendly and extremely attentive service and the rustic Ruhr area ambience, it is clear to us that we will definitely be happy to come back and will probably do so in the near future. Many thanks to the entire team, you have created a really good product!

We were here in the restaurant today, on a Sunday. Pure coincidence, through a Google search for the best food in the area 😄. Accordingly, we didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't a problem. We got a table straight away and the menu promptly. Although it is clear, it was difficult to make a decision... There is also currywurst with fries, but there are also many dishes that you would otherwise look for in vain! The choice fell on Himmel und Äd and the Westphalian duet. None of it is a regret 🤤, just like the cheesecake and cappuccino afterwards! The staff is super nice and funny, you feel welcome and comfortable! The best thing I haven't experienced in any other restaurant was, surprisingly, in the toilets 😄🙈... But, hear it for yourself 😉 We will definitely come back, whether in the evening in the pub or in the restaurant during the day 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 P.S.: We only found out who owns the pub by chance from the people sitting next to us 👀👂🏻😁 👋🏻👋🏻

Simply 100%. It doesn't get any better. In without a reservation, served nicely and quickly. With a lot of love in every detail. Even the side salt tastes great. Not that shit from the big box store. The sauce is great. Homemade mashed potatoes, homemade beetroot salad. I was happy to travel 40km for this. And anyone who thinks a mega giant schnitzel with great fries for 18 euros is too expensive is stuck in time. €12 schnitzel hasn't been available for a long time. Unless it's some snot out of the bucket. But if you like it, here you go. Guys, keep it up.

Four of us ate here. The reservation was very quick and easy. The employees are very friendly and nice. The food also tasted very good 😊 we all had schnitzel. The menu was also very large and the schnitzels were very crispy and tasty despite the sauce. I also found the atmosphere very nice. The chairs were super comfortable and had a sofa feeling 🥰 However, the restaurant is not very big. However, the location fits the theme of eating schnitzel. Therefore nothing to complain about. The only point why there is a point deduction is that schnitzel is very expensive and it is not possible to eat there without a reservation. Also that it is still partly a pub where you can watch sports. When football is playing it can definitely get very crowded and loud. Otherwise great🥰😊

Was good food but waiter tried to turn us down. A bit stupid of him then we wait and one minute someone left and we asked again so he give us the seat but then after some minutes more guest comes and he let them in no problem.

Luckily we got a table for 5 on Saturday evening. The waitresses were very friendly and open-minded. The food was FANTASTIC. The Jägerschnitzel is crispy and the fried potatoes with onions are perfectly seasoned. It was my first time there, but definitely not the last time!

Nice little restaurant with balanced, rustic Westphalian cuisine. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and was prepared in a solid manner and in generous portions. I enjoyed the “Kreuzviertel” schnitzel just as much as my wife enjoyed the vegetarian vegetable schnitzel version. The beers are tapped well and quickly. The "Schmackes" is within walking distance of the Westfalenstadion and is therefore heavily frequented by BVB supporters. We prepared really well here for the successful opening game against Frankfurter Eintracht.

Restaurant is located at a large intersection, outdoor area under trees. - Parking: Possibility to park at the clinic or in side streets. Free will be difficult. - Ambience: Combines the style of an old pub with a pleasant restaurant. Harmonized! - Food and much more: The menu focuses on hearty German cuisine. You get what is promised to you. - Service: All three service staff were super attentive, quick to chat, and quick. - Prices: They are also totally fine. - Other: Reservation definitely required, as known by Kevin Großkreutz, among others

Nice Ruhrpott pub. Unfortunately bad air (no better ventilation possible) because it was too hot outside. Unfortunately my meal wasn't what I expected. Black pudding was not crispy, but very soft. The service was top. Thank you Yves

The Schmackes in Dortmund is a real highlight for anyone who wants to eat really good and plenty of food. The portions are so big that even I couldn't finish my plate - and that's saying something! The food was absolutely delicious, prepared with great attention to detail and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. However, you should definitely make a reservation because the restaurant is rightly very popular.

Das Schmackes in Dortmund ist ein echtes Highlight für alle, die richtig gut und reichlich essen möchten. Die Portionen sind so groß, dass selbst ich es nicht geschafft habe, meinen Teller leer zu bekommen – und das will was heißen! Das Essen war absolut köstlich, mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet und voller Geschmack. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam, was das Essenserlebnis noch angenehmer macht. Allerdings sollte man unbedingt reservieren, denn das Restaurant ist zu Recht sehr beliebt.
