We were passing through Duisburg on a summer Friday evening and stumbled upon "Mimi and Rosa," a first-class trattoria with pasta variations that you wouldn't find better in Liguria or Piedmont. Trofie with pistachio-basil pesto, spaghetti with anchovies and candied lemons, or orecchiette with chanterelle mushrooms. A particularly interesting feature for the amateur cook: everything is prepared behind the counter in front of the guests.

We've been here several times because the food is always more than excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and everything is just right... But even though we were there right after the restaurant opened, we were served a tomato salad, and then our order was gone... even the eagerly awaited octopus was sold out at the right time... and I walked away empty-handed. The whole thing is pretty annoying. Sometimes just an apology isn't enough. It's a shame.

"Mimi e Rosa – Where even the salad is better dressed than me!" I arrived hungry, I saw the menu, I ordered… and then I was in culinary heaven on earth. Starter, main course, dessert – every dish was a revelation. Even the water tasted somehow… emotional. The service? Friendly, attentive, fast – as if they had made a pact with my stomach. And the ambiance? So cozy that I briefly considered just checking in discreetly after dessert. Mimi and Rosa – whoever you are, you are the true heroes of my day. I arrived as a guest and left as a happily satiated fan. Conclusion: If food were a hug, then Mimi e Rosa would be a full-body cuddle with seconds.

My favorite Italian restaurant! Creative and unique cuisine, great wines, a living room atmosphere, friendly people... I always enjoy going there.

Such a great restaurant! Cozy, beautifully decorated, great service – but above all, fantastic food. Our dishes included black cabbage with a poached egg, homemade fennel sausage, and a ricotta tart. We each had a starter, main course, and dessert, plus several drinks, and the two of us paid just under €90, excluding tip.

A great restaurant! You feel like you're in a living room when you enter the cozy, small rooms and you're warmly welcomed, even if the whole place is full. The changing menu always offers something exciting. It goes without saying that it also tastes very good. This also applies to the large selection of wines. “Mimi e Rosa” is like visiting friends. This is where people get lost and like to chat.

We finally managed to eat there. The facility is very charming, familiar and communicative. The service was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, the portions were just right and the wine selection covered all desires. The pricing is completely normal and this means we certainly have one of the best restaurants in Duisburg and the surrounding area.

Einzigartige Stimmung, hervorragendes Essen, herzliche Bedienung. Ein längst vergessener Traum eines rundum Glücklich sein der wiederbelebt wurde. Meine Frau und ich werden diesen tollen Abend nie vergessen.

Super nettes kleines Restaurant. Draußen sitzt man mittags in der Sonne, drinnen kann man dem Inhaber in der Küche beim brutzeln zugucken. Eins der tollsten Lokale in Duisburg und eine Institution, wenn man gutes Essen mag. Sehr authentisches italienisches Essen, schöne Atmosphäre. Man muss zeitig da sein und sich auf Geselligkeit einstellen, da es oft wuselig ist und man darauf einstellen muss, mit anderen Menschen am Tisch zu sitzen.
