We've been coming here again and again since 2006 - friendly service, delicious food and constantly new specials. Everything is great and fair prices too! An absolute favorite restaurant!

Lunch for €26 with risotto with squid as a starter, sea bream in saffron shrimp sauce and a dessert with espresso was really very good and absolutely reasonable in price. For the ISH we had diner with a large group. They managed really well and everything was in good order.

The service from the grim old man was absolutely terrible. The plate wasn't empty, but he cleared it away without asking. He didn't think a tip was enough, so he came up with a ridiculous line: "The boss pays well, I don't need it." Portions are small for the price. They charged me twice for a bottle even though I only ordered one. Check your receipts! 😉

Food OK but nothing special, we were full! But the two gentlemen who served us had never heard of service and friendliness towards the guest. Unfriendly, short, you had the feeling you weren't welcome here. OK, for us it was the first and last time, this restaurant is absolutely not recommended...!

I didn't know Mezzanotte before but was invited by a very good friend. And that was a great invitation. Even the first impression is highly impressive. This is the typical ambience of very well-kept, upscale Italian restaurants. You feel comfortable at first glance. And it stays that way. This also includes the equally stylish service. The main thing in the impression and experience is of course the quality of the food. And that is also outstanding. Especially when you see the surprising price-performance ratio. There is a really exquisite three-course lunch menu with espresso for 26 euros. And this isn't just a slimmed-down lunch menu, but rather a menu that's great in scope - in terms of quality anyway - just like you would get in the evening. At a much higher price. Mezzanotte is clearly a restaurant to definitely come back to.

Eigentlich ein nettes Restaurant, leider sind die beiden älteren Herren im Service komplett überfordert und unfreundlich. Wir waren Freitag Abends dort, wurden an einen dreckigen Tisch gesetzt und haben 30 Minuten gewartet um unsere Bestellung aufzugeben. Das Essen kam dann schnell, jedoch war die Käseplatte lieblos und ohne jede Beilage wie Marmelade etc. angerichtet. Wir hätten gerne noch mehr bestellt da die Portionen eher klein ausfallen, leider kam aber niemand mehr an den Tisch. Trotzdessen sind die Preise stattlich und wir lagen bei 60 Euro für 2 Gläser Wein, 4 Tortellini und 8 Stücke Käse. Am Ende wurden wir noch darauf hingewiesen dass nur Männer zahlen dürfen. Werden dort nicht mehr hingehen.

Update January 2025: There are creative and extremely tasty new dishes on the recommendation menu. A really cozy Italian restaurant with lots of regulars. I can recommend everything here: from classic pizza, to homemade pasta, delicious antipasti or delicious fish and meat dishes. The prices are not the cheapest, but they are worth it.

Food was OK but the service was very unfriendly

Were there today and I'm already disappointed... Had a salad and two pizzas...and none of them tasted great. The salad Nizzarda was really very boring... had no acid at all, no salt and the oil was missing too... or maybe there were a few drops??? Then the pizzas came...and they were lukewarm at best...with a dry, hard dough The topping couldn't save much either...neither mine, where the potatoes were pale and cooked...nor the other one with so little ham on it that you had to look for it... Water tasted great Location is great Therefore two points Of course, other dishes may be exquisitely cooked there...pizza and salad are definitely not dishes I can recommend there. Addendum: I was there again a good year later, a friend invited me and I have to say that I'm sure they now have a different chef. The food was excellent... the four of us ordered the Pizza Abbruzzese, Rigatoni 4 Formaggi, veal liver and stuffed ravioli with mushrooms and tried them all together. It was very tasty...the food was so much fun...a pleasure because the products were fresh and of top quality. The service with the necessary attentiveness and the elegant ambience made the evening complete.

Das war das schlechteste Restaurant in diesem Jahr. Dem Kellner musste man fast dankbar sein, dass er mal an den Tisch kommt. Die Calamari schmeckten viel zu stark nach Ei. Die gebratene Seezunge in einer Butter-Zitronen Sauce war minimal angebraten. Die Zitrone in der Sauce war so dominant, dass die Seezunge geschmacklich untergegangen ist. Die Kartoffeln waren ungesalzen. Die Küche und der Service waren ein völliges Desaster.

This was the worst restaurant this year. You almost had to be grateful to the waiter for coming to the table. The calamari tasted way too much like eggs. The fried sole in a butter-lemon sauce was minimally fried. The lemon in the sauce was so dominant that the sole was lost in taste. The potatoes were unsalted. The kitchen and service were a complete disaster.

First of all: We are long-time guests. The pizza tastes very good. But you should avoid seafood. We ate mussels there twice and they smelled absolutely no longer edible. The waiter then reacted rudely and said they always smell like that. Addendum: After a long time we were there again. The food was good but the service was again poor. The waiter is annoyed when everyone at the table doesn't want to pay together. We won't be coming back!

Unfortunately I can only give 2 stars because I didn't have a good experience. The older waiter with glasses who served us was very unfriendly and arrogant. Food was ok. I wouldn't eat there again.

Was in the Mezzanotte yesterday for work reasons. The pizza was super tasty and the pannacotta too. I'll definitely come back when I'm nearby.

No matter whether it's a date, a business trip or a family celebration. If you're in Frankfurt and don't eat at Mezzanotte, you're doing something wrong! The quality of the food is so high that you will come back, I promise you!

Hello, I ordered a pizza (peperoni sausage) together with my work colleague and came to the same conclusion that it is a disgrace for every Italian. The dough was at most a millimeter thick, the sausage was almost 5 mm thick, plus (I would say) the sauce was diluted and the cheese wasn't even fully added. I can recommend this pizza to anyone who wants to give their dog a birthday present. (Eur 16.50 is also “a little” exaggerated)

Fabulous food for a generation. We, a dear friend & I once again chatted away for 3 wonderful hours with good food and excellent wine.

Hemos venido aquí muchas veces a lo largo de los años y aunque la comida sigue siendo buena, últimamente hemos notado un deterioro constante del servicio. Hoy fue la gota que colmó el vaso para nosotros. Había una gran multitud por la noche y solo un camarero sirviendo a todos. Para conseguir otra bebida, simplemente tuve que caminar hasta el bar y pedirla y luego traerla de vuelta a mi mesa. Normalmente sirven una cesta de pan delicioso y un plato de aceitunas antes de la comida. Sin embargo hoy el pan estaba rancio con un par de piezas secas y duras. No lo comimos y nos preguntamos si simplemente lo reciclarían para los próximos clientes. Después de salir hoy, decidimos que hay mejores opciones para la próxima vez.

We thought it was great! Food modern Italian authentic. Price performance was appropriate and the service was great. The seafood was soooo good, rarely had such delicious, fresh, well-prepared seafood! Were positively surprised.

The Mezzanotte restaurant, led by Gino, offers an outstanding Italian dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is prepared with fresh ingredients and a lot of love. The homemade pasta dishes and the creamy seafood risotto are particularly recommended. Gino personally ensures warm hospitality and the service is attentive and friendly. A perfect place for a special evening with authentic Italian cuisine.

Four of us went to the Mezzanotte restaurant last night and had a fantastic experience. We were immediately impressed by the cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality. Particularly noteworthy are the delicious wood-fired pizzas, prepared with fresh ingredients and a perfectly crispy dough. The fish dishes are also an absolute delight. The service was attentive and friendly, which made our evening even more enjoyable. We will be back!

I've never felt so unwelcome. Waiter brought the bill around immediately and made me pay up front. Like they didn't trust me. I present as a neutral guy but my nails were done. Maybe it's not that kind of prejudice but it really felt like it - there was a sense of anger. And I saw how nice he was to the other guests. Perhaps I would have ordered another drink? dessert? But nope, I had already paid. He was very impatient and came by to check if I had put anything in the little payment folder. He slammed it closed when I hadn't put anything in yet. And when I did pay (with card) he threw the receipt on the table and never came back, except to (eventually) bring my pizza.

The food is really very good, especially the dishes that you don't get in every Italian restaurant. A special highlight is the Zabaglione: handmade and absolutely fresh! The staff is very friendly and always listens to the customers' wishes.

For me the best pizza in Frankfurt, pasta, steaks and Scaloppina al Vino Bianca are also highly recommended. Family Italian atmosphere.

Exceptional range of wines, also by the glass. Freshly squeezed orange juice (even the Campari orange is upgraded). Fish, meat, homemade pasta simply great. Pizza (many variations) from the stone oven, of course. We never miss the Linguine Vongole Verace. The chef uses a tomato sauce as standard, but can also prepare it classically with just Alio and Olio if desired. You should definitely leave room for dessert: panna cotta and zabaglione are heavenly. When you wash your hands in the toilet, you can stay longer thanks to the Italian music playing there. Huge differences in staff: Some employees are listless or even ignorant. But if you get a table from “DER DAME” the evening can simply be a success. An invoice will be created per table/company. If someone leaves the restaurant early, they should hand over an appropriate amount to their "blackheads". Or you do it like the Italians: today one person pays everything, next time someone else pays everything.

Wir gehen schon seit Jahren ins Mezzanotte und fühlen uns immer sehr sehr wohl! Ein perfekter Ort um entweder einfach eine Pizza zu essen, aber auch die schönen Seiten der italienischen Küche zu entdecken. Die Empfehlungskarte ist immer wieder aufs neue ein Blick wert!

Ich besuche seit Jahren das Restaurant in Bockenheim, egal ob mit der Familie oder Freunden, es bietet sich super für jeden Anlass an. Sowohl im Sommer draußen als auch sonst im Restaurant drinnen sitzen ist sehr angenehm und passt perfekt zum italienischen Gesamtbild. Dort habe ich vermutlich das beste Vitello Tonato bisher gegessen und das soll schon etwas heißen… auch die der Meeresfrüchtesalat, Pizza oder Trüffelnudeln sind super und unbedingt zu empfehlen! Ich komme immer wieder und hoffe das bleibt noch viele Jahre so.

Immer wieder gerne! Meine Freunde und ich kommen regelmäßig und gerne hier essen und werden selten enttäuscht. Sogar auf Sonderwünsche wird ohne Problem eingegangen. Im Sommer kann man wunderschön draußen auf der Sommer Terrasse sitzen und im Winter gemütlich neben dem Pizzaofen. Vielen Dank für die vielen schöne Abende im Mezzanotte an das ganze Team.

Nettes Restaurant und sehr leckeres Essen. Grosse Portionen. Obwohl der Service nett war, hatte ich den Eindruck dass nur 1 Bedienung für das volle Restaurant da war. Es dauerte alles extreme lange. Vielleicht war das die Ausnahme..

Unkompliziert, freundlich und lecker. Ist nicht der billigste Italiener den es auf der Leipziger gibt, dafür schmeckt aber das Essen konstant lecker.

Ristorante italiano mediocre nel cuore di Bockenheim. La sensazione che abbiamo avuto è che l’unica cosa autentica fosse l’atmosfera italiana (tavola apparecchiata, personale cordiale che parla italiano, musica italiana). Per quanto riguarda il cibo (pizza e primo) non siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Pizza mediocre e primo (tortellini in brodo) neanche lontanamente simile ai veri tortellini. Prezzi onesti rispetto alla media di Francoforte. Possibilità di pagare con carta.

Wir waren unter der Woche an einem Dienstag gegen 14 Uhr dort mit 25 Personen. Reservieren ist ein muss, da es wirklich sehr voll war. Sehr gutes Essen, sehr nette und schnelle Bedienung, sehr serviceorientiert. Toll.

Ein sehr tolles Restaurant mit sehr Authentischen Gefühl von einer Schöner Italienischen Gastronomie. Die Kellner sehr freundlich und zu vorkommend. Das Essen sehr gut mit dem offenen Pizzaoffen und der Blick in die Küche ist immer frei. Das Essen von der Pizza und Pasta war sehr lecker. Für die Vorspeise waren die Produkte ausgestellt an der Theke und sahen frisch und lecker aus.
