Nice place and the food tastes good

Actually quite tasty, but we had a small kunefe with Mara's ice cream (€8) even though we ordered a large portion, and we weren't told that it was the small portion a) b) when we checked out, instead of two large teas for €2, we were charged for fries (€3) Unfortunately, this was quite dishonest and spoiled the whole atmosphere.

A very nice restaurant, and you can tell the love and care goes into making it. We had the Mercimek soup as a starter, which was delicious. The fresh, homemade bread that came with it was especially delicious. For the main course, we had a kusbasipide and a doner kebab, and both were very fresh, delicious, and of good quality. We highly recommend Meydan and would like to thank the entire team.

I ate at Meydan with my family today. We ordered and the food came relatively quickly. The food was served, but we didn't have any cutlery! We waited at least five minutes for the cutlery! Of course, the food got cold in the meantime. We didn't eat it. It's truly outrageous that you have to wait almost five minutes for the cutlery. We will never visit this restaurant again.

We saw Maydan on TV and decided to eat there because of the charming host. And we weren't disappointed! He greeted us attentively and friendly right at the door. The entire staff, of which there are many, is absolutely hospitable and dedicated! That alone is really great! All questions and special requests are carefully addressed, and if a request is left unfulfilled, it's definitely not the fault of the service – thank you again for that! The food and drink selection is comprehensive and fits the "Turkish snack bar" concept, as emphasized in the TV report – but a bit more like a restaurant. The ambiance was okay, the wall benches very cozy! In the entrance area, the typical snack bar layout: cash register, dessert, grilled meat, and a charcoal grill – makes you really want to eat! And it was truly delicious! The tripe soup was unfortunately sold out, but the saghanaki was super delicious! The lentil soup with fresh lemon is also highly recommended. Bulgur/rice & vegetables from the grill plate, and the meat perfectly cooked, a mild, not at all over-seasoned taste experience – truly delicious thanks to the grilled aroma. A little tip: with the grill plate for 2 (51), add a large spoonful for the bulgur/rice, so guests can get it more easily on their plates ;). A full dessert would have been too much for me, so I got a slice of Turkish ice cream with pistachio crumbs (delicious!), which reminded me of the 30-pfennig ice cream on a stick from my childhood. The Turkish mocha & tea definitely made us feel like welcome guests. We discovered the "ayran fountain" while paying and got one "on the house" – also delicious & homemade, and yes: if you want to experience Turkish hospitality and a world of flavors, this is the place for you!

We discovered this restaurant through My Local, Your Local. The quality of the food is sensational. We've been looking for a Turkish restaurant of this style for years, and we've finally found it in our neighboring town. The dishes are prepared with so much love and skill, and the ingredients are of such high quality that you just want to hug everyone involved. You can see the high quality just by looking at them, a medley of colors and shapes. And then, the food is a unique explosion of flavors. The many different dips alone are masterful and keep you coming back. And everything else we had is the same. Each one tastes better than the last. This applies to starters, main courses, and desserts. It's especially worth mentioning that we're vegetarians and have a very wide selection! The ambiance is also exceptionally good and high-quality. And the service is some of the best we've ever had. From the friendly, humorous boss to the waitresses, you're treated like a long-time regular, always with a genuine smile on their faces—a fantastic atmosphere! Even our dog is always included in the friendly service, which is unusual in Turkish restaurants. We're already really looking forward to our next visit; it's always an experience. Another thing we noticed: If there's anything left on their plates at Meydan, almost all guests have the rest packed up. How often do you see that? And then think about why! :-))

This place feels more like a kebab shop than a restaurant. I tried the beyti kebab, our traditional dish on the menu, but the dough was quite thick. Instead of yufka (a type of flatbread), they wrapped a small amount of meatball filling in pita dough. Perhaps if I'd ordered pita, it would have been better. I also had the kunefe, but it smelled and tasted strange; I honestly couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. The service was also lacking, but the staff, while unprofessional, were quite friendly and genuine. Since there's nothing else on the menu that's particularly interesting, I'm not sure I'll return.

The Meydan Restaurant was featured on the TV show "My Local, Your Local" and presented itself very well. Even the flatbread is homemade, freshly baked every day – very unusual – something you rarely see, and the bread is of such excellent quality. The doner kebab is very well filled with veal and the flavor is unbeatable. The kofte plate, for example, is also very good in terms of portion size and quality. I'm telling you, it's creamy, spicy, and perfectly balanced. You can also eat it plain or take it in bottles and slather it on everything that isn't in the fridge at three o'clock. The service is friendly, fast, and attentive. They'll check to see if everything's still okay, but without over-complaining. The place is nice and clean, cozy, nothing fancy, but just as it should be. The prices are perfectly reasonable for what you get. You'll leave feeling full, satisfied, and hungry for the next visit. Conclusion: One of the best spots in Gladbeck for a genuine grilled dish with heart. The Sheriff gives it five stars and you'll definitely come back with an empty stomach and great anticipation.

At Meydan, it's hard to single out a single dish: Everything is simply delicious! From the appetizer plate to the doner kebabs to various grilled dishes, we had nothing but excellent food here. The bread and sauces are homemade, as is the "real" doner kebab skewer (not the rotisserie made of minced meat you'd find in regular doner kebab shops). On top of that, the staff are super friendly; you immediately feel welcome!

An unforgettable children's birthday at Maydan! On Saturday, April 19th, we were able to celebrate a small children's birthday at the Maydan restaurant in Gladbeck - and it was perfect all around! We rented the large room for several hours and from start to finish the service was simply A1. The entire team was extremely courteous, friendly and solution-oriented. Spontaneous changes on site were implemented immediately and without discussion. You had the feeling that every wish would be fulfilled immediately - whether it was mine or my wife. They literally “danced to our tune” – and with a smile! The flexibility was particularly impressive: Although the restaurant doesn't actually offer a buffet, they organized one especially for us - completely outside of the regular menu. This speaks for exceptional customer orientation and commitment. The owner is also very personable and open to individual requests. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with heart.
