A lot of wasted potential. I can't imagine that the current quality has always been the standard. We were there for the first time with friends from out of town, and if nothing changes, it will certainly be the last. So, there were four of us in the restaurant, and we ordered various items from the menu. First, the positives: The grilled peppers and the zaganaki were good, nothing extraordinary overall, but hot and tasty. The service was quick, but seemed a bit disorganized, as we had a total of five different servers at our table, some of whom asked the same questions. Okay, better than being ignored. The drinks arrived quickly; no complaints there. The zaganaki was actually ordered as an appetizer but arrived with the main course. They'd be better off skipping the salad bar altogether; there wasn't enough variety for our taste. The salad bar is probably best left out; there's too little choice for our taste. Regarding the main courses: The gyros was crispy, but it cooled down very quickly and, in our opinion, was under-seasoned and, due to the temperature, also too dry. The souvlaki also lacked seasoning; it was hot, but a bit too tough and dry. The bifteki was seasoned, but unfortunately, it didn't suit the tastes of the four people at the table. The rice tasted like slightly reddish buttered rice; this is where there's the most room for improvement, as it has virtually nothing to do with Greek rice. We generally never send bread back, unless it's cold, soggy, and simply boring flatbread like this. The tables in the conservatory are far too low, forcing you into an awkward posture. The chairs are too restrictive for tall men, especially at the front, and the tables should be placed further away from the outside of the awning to prevent your legs and feet from getting so cold. The women had to swap seats with the men. The fact that debit card payments were generally not possible almost put us in a very awkward situation – and this is 2025! All four of us at the table had to scrape together our last bit of cash and change to pay the bill. Absolutely unacceptable! The tiny sticker at the entrance doesn't prevent this kind of thing; it's simply expected. It's a real shame, because the location, size, layout, and parking situation offer so much more potential.

The food selection and price were okay, the food wasn't over-seasoned, the service was attentive and friendly, but unfortunately only cash payments were possible, which is outdated.

Originally planned as an alternative restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. The team, the menu, the fast service, and the very good food are outstanding. There's also a wonderful terrace with a portable roof for warm days. Unfortunately, cash payments are currently the only option. Card payments are planned, and you can also pay via PayPal.

The Meteora restaurant in Achim impresses with delicious Greek food, generous portions, and excellent value for money. The absolute worst when it comes to Greek food! Never, ever. Poor quality meat, musty fries, unseasoned rice, tasteless. I'll be informing the food inspectors! Absolutely not recommended.

The food and service were fine. But if you don't accept card payments in 2025, and we have to drive 10 minutes through Achim to withdraw money from the nearest ATM, that's not right. Why do you only accept cash as a payment method?

It's great that you can help yourself at the salad buffet, so nothing you don't like ends up on your plate. The food is delicious, and the service is attentive.

- Waited 1.5 hours for the food (outrageous) - Tiny portion with an EXCESSIVE PRICE (Gyros/Metaxa, baked, €17.50!!!), you could see the bottom of the bowl. - Cash only, and this in 2025! (Has someone been hiding something from the tax office since 1998, when the restaurant was founded - a tart waiter - Hmmm??) - No olives or feta cheese at the so-called "salad buffet" (apparently, there haven't even been olives or feta cheese at the salad buffet since 1998 either). Pretty embarrassing for a Greek restaurant! Anyone who eats there and leaves money has lost control of their life.

Last Saturday, I celebrated my 60th birthday with 17 guests at my favorite Greek restaurant. It was a wonderful celebration with delicious food and excellent service. Thank you so much. ☺️💙🇬🇷💙

Finally, cheerful and friendly staff again. I have the feeling that's becoming increasingly rare in the restaurant industry. Without exception, every waiter and every waitress here walked around with a smile on their face. We were asked several times if we had any requests and if everything was to our satisfaction. The food was incredibly delicious and the portions were very generous, even for guests with a very hungry stomach. My wife loved the appetizers so much that we ordered four different dishes to try beforehand, and each one was worth it! Amazing! We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, after 7 months, I had to change my review. The quality of the meat (tasted like it had been kept warm, extremely dry, and unfortunately very tough) has deteriorated considerably, and the Metaxa sauce tasted like gravy. It's a real shame, because we always enjoyed driving the 45 minutes there. We brought it up, but unfortunately, they didn't really respond except to say that everything is as usual. A full 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reserved a table there spontaneously. The entire staff was super friendly and very polite, both on the phone and in person. The food was of excellent quality. I've never had such amazingly delicious gyros and souvlaki. We'll be happy to come back, and that's saying something considering it's almost 40 km away. Keep up the good work🤩👍🤩

The Greek restaurant Meteora in Achim offers an authentic culinary journey into Greek cuisine. During our visit we enjoyed both the classic gyros and the gratinated gyros with Metaxa sauce. Both dishes impressed with their tender meat and rich taste. The Metaxa sauce gave the baked gyros a special touch that rounded off the dish perfectly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and has an authentic tavern feel with numerous statues and Greek decorations. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Painting utensils are available for families with children, and there is a welcome "children's schnapps", which is of course non-alcoholic. The restaurant is also barrier-free accessible as there are no steps blocking the entrance. The menu stays true to traditional recipes, with vegetarian and vegan options planned in the future. The prices are fair and average between 11 and 20 euros per dish. There are sufficient and free parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. Overall, the N. Meteora restaurant in Achim is a recommended place for lovers of Greek cuisine who value authentic dishes and a pleasant atmosphere.

In short: delicious food and friendly staff Lang: We have been coming here regularly for more than 10 years. The only thing that bothered us so far was that over time it became more and more crowded and therefore louder. But that's all, if you're sociable and don't mind the people around you, Meteora is ideal for you. I have visited many Greek restaurants, but this is clearly the best for me. The very simple but perfectly dressed salad before the main course puts you in a good mood. The classic grilled dishes are really great, perfectly seasoned and always delicious. Nothing usually works after such a dish. If so: Be sure to try Galaktoburiko - warm milk cake with ice cream. Yummy! Absolute recommendation, but booking a table is mandatory due to the high number of visitors, at least on weekends. Update 01/2025: Word has now gotten around that there are new tenants. But that's not a disadvantage, the new staff is really super nice! Some waiters also stayed, as did the chef. So the food is still great too!

The parking lot is unreasonable when it rains. The food was okay, but we've eaten better elsewhere. The fact that card payments are not possible always leaves a bad aftertaste. There are plenty of other restaurants with better value for money.

Meteora has large portions, as was usual with Greeks in the past. The food tastes very good and the prices are cheaper than others. Unfortunately, card payment is still not possible. You can smoke outside at the open pavilion windows. You should reserve seats on weekends. According to the operator, Meteora has had a different operator since spring 2024. The premises are clean.

Wir haben heute Abend wieder seht gut bei Meteora gegessen ,wir waren hier noch niemals enttäuscht raus gekommen. Wir holen uns auch ab und zu etwas nach Hause, wir rufen vorher an, und es klappt auch sehr gut.

Been there 2nd time. Service was friendly again. Food came after about 20 minutes. Was rich and delicious. Ambience outside is like this... Unfortunately no card payment possible. And that was hard to top. We are relieved that the standard has not only been maintained but even raised a little... hopefully it stays that way!!!!

Schön und gut zu erreichende Lokalität. Ausreichend großer Parkraum vorhanden. Großes Platzangebot. Einfaches aber für den Zweck ausreichendes Ambiente. Leckere Vor- und Hauptgerichte. Am Essen gab es nichts groß zu kritisieren. Leider ein Punkt Abzug für in unserem Falle recht unangagierten und etwas unaufmerksamen Service. Schade, hätten evtl. noch das ein oder andere Getränk zu uns nehmen wollen. Ein weiterer Punkt Abzug dafür, dass in dem Restaurant im 21. Jahrhundert keine normale Kartenzahlung möglich ist. Paypal funktioniert wohl, hat aber nicht jeder. Auf die Frage ob Kartenzahlung möglich sei, wurde von Seiten des Service recht schnippisch reagiert und geäußert, dass dies seit über 20 Jahren so ist. Kann man nicht unbedingt wissen, wenn man das erste Mal dort eingekehrt ist. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist noch moderat. Okay, man hat die Lokalität mal gesehen.

The food was a bit carelessly prepared and tasted boring, the smoking area also filled the non-smokers' air and clothes with smoke through the door, no card payment possible. Thanks to better alternatives locally, we probably won't go there again.

Unfortunately this restaurant no longer exists. But there will be a new one.

Service nice and quick. Ambience a bit old-fashioned or overly crowded. The food is a disaster. Totally salty. And not only my food, the mushroom sauce had been so thick that it was almost jelly, but my wife's Greek gyro was also extremely salty. The arrangement on the plates was more than unsightly and careless. The salad from the salad bar was nothing special but not nasty either. For 50 euros two meals there would be much better food at the snack bar. No recommendation!

Good food, nice atmosphere. However, the waiting times are unacceptable. About 1 hour 45 minutes until the food came. Drinks were also a long time coming. Of course we understand any staff shortages, but then less is perhaps more.

Was soll ich sagen… das Konzept mit dem Raucherbereich im Innenraum ist schon spannend heutzutage. Wobei der Abzug im Raucherbereich gern besser/ stärken sein könnte. Das Essen, hier der Bifteki (19,50€) war hinter den Erwartungen für den Preis, da es keine Soßen und Beilagen dazu gab. Eigentlich Schade, weil der Bifteki für sich lecker war. Das Salat Buffet war leider sehr übersichtlich und irgendwie haben sich die Oliven oder die Möhren heute Urlaub genommen. Aus meiner Sicht gibt es noch Luft nach oben.
