I have visited this restaurant with my classmates many times during our two year study. I only had very good experiences here. I have to say that today was even better. The restaurant is very clean and has a beautiful design. One can see intricately crafted decorations and paintings. The atmosphere is very calming: there is beautiful music and the people are very friendly. There is a possibility to call and reserve a table or just come in. The service was the best that I have experienced so far. The server asked to re-warm my dish because I decided to eat it later and he volunteered to take pictures of our group. I found his behaviour very kind and respectful. The dishes and drinks are always delicious - today was no exception. There are many different dishes with meat and many vegetarian options. The prices are good as well. Overall, a great place and very hard working and respectful staff.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food

The food is delicious, generous with good flavor and not excessively expensive. They lack customer service a bit. Not accepting card payment, not wanting to share Wi-Fi and details like that. I've been going to this place for 12 years now and I like it. With these things they lose customers.

After getting turned down by other restaurants in the area since I didn't have any reservations, we were most welcomed by this Vietnamese restaurant. Without having any expectations, I have to say, this restaurant exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The restaurant had a really warm atmosphere to it, the waiters were friendly and the menu was extensive, to the point it started to get a bit confusing what to order due to the variety. Everything we ended up ordering was extraordinary. But if you must try one dish, then choose one of their curries with crispy duck. I have never seen this amount of duck in any restaurant in Germany on a single dish. It wasn't just the portion that got me bamboozled, but also how tasty it was. The duck was deep fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Needless to say, all the dishes come of course with all you can eat rice. We tried crispy fried icecream for dessert. If you are wondering if it was heavy, yes indeed it was, but the combination of cold icecream with hot crispy dough was phenomenal. It was served with whipped cream and strawberry sauce. I was to thank the owners for all their hard work to be able to manage a restaurant this way while offering tasty authentic food.

The dishes are quite tasty. One lady from the service tries to appear very professional, the second actually is, although she is very sociable and refreshingly simple. The ambience is actually impressive and stylish.

I don't go there as often as I would like to. Highly recommend to check it out. Owners are very friendly and food is very delicious. I have been going there for the last 20 years or so. That should speak for itself.

I found out about it through a Google review. Although we hadn't booked a table in advance, which I can only recommend to everyone as there is a lot going on here, we were warmly welcomed and served quickly. The duck dishes were perfectly prepared and really delicious. We'll come back to it on our next stay in Erlangen

Small cozy Vietnamese restaurant. Very tasty, albeit very Europeanized food. Definitely try it. However, a reservation is recommended.

I've been eating at Mekong for many years now and I've never been disappointed, both by the dishes and the staff. Everything is delicious, everyone is friendly, even at rush hour. Everything else has already been mentioned in the other reviews. Deserved 5 stars.

A beautiful, authentic Thai restaurant. The food is excellent, the waitresses (owners!) are super nice and helpful. Eating with two small children was no problem at all. We'd love to come back, thank you! :)

I was eating there yesterday and took the rest of my food home with me. Of what was supposed to be packed there was hardly anything in it, what we didn't want was this decoration carrot and lettuce were in there. There were only 3 of my chicken in there even though I had more than half The portion was left over and there was hardly any rice even though we left so much rice to take away. I had the sauces from the rest of the plates that had already been eaten and one of the sauces had peanuts and I was allergic to them and they still poured them into my take-away portion even though there was nothing left on the plate apart from the sauce. I'll give you another chance. I ordered number 86a yesterday

Very nice and authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We ordered some starters which were pretty nice, and a soup, that was incredible. We couldn’t pay with credit card even though at the entrance it was said credit cards were accepted, so we had to go and find an ATM to get some cash. But if you know that in advance and have money with you, definitely a good place to go.

The service is top! Ambiance is getting old. The food was delicious, but the taste was very European, I would have liked more of a “local” taste.

Ich gehe regelmäßig mit meiner Frau dorthin. Das Restaurant ist immer gut besucht und insbesondere die Ente schmeckt uns sehr gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist hier unschlagbar. Auch die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente im Restaurant entspricht dem vietnamesischen Charakter. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen, auch wenn es dort sehr einfach gehalten ist. Aber wenn die Sonne scheint, sitzen wir trotzdem gerne draußen. Von uns eine klare Empfehlung!

Ein sehr schönes Lokal mit einer üppigen Speisekarte. Die Inhaber sind wirklich freundlich. Man merkt sehr, wie sehr die Inhaber ihr Lokal lieben. Das Lokal selbst ist nicht besonders groß, deshalb ist es ratsam hier mit einer Reservierung zu erscheinen. Es ist alles sehr hell. Die Einrichtung lädt zum entspannen ein. Die Musik ist gut gewählt. Die Speisekarte hat eine ganze Seite nur für Rentner? 😂 Es gibt ein Mittagsmenü über eine ganze Seite. Die Karte ist groß aber die Gerichte, aber man wird auch gern beraten, falls Fragen aufkommen. Preislich kann man auch nichts sagen. Habe für 3 Leute 62 Euro bezahlt. Komme definitiv wieder. Zudem sei noch angemerkt die Schärfe Pikant bezieht sich nur auf den deutschen Gaumen, wenn man es etwas schärfer will sollte man darüber die Bedienung aufklären :)

Das Vietnam Restaurant Mekong beeindruckt mit einer schönen Auswahl an Gerichten, darunter auch einige vegetarische und vegane Optionen. Das Essen ist lecker und entspricht gut dem, was man von einem vietnamesischen Restaurant in Deutschland erwartet. Eine solide Wahl für diejenigen, die eine vielfältige Speisekarte mit einigen guten vegetarischen und veganen Optionen schätzen.

Wirklich sehr gutes Essen, überdurchschnittlich. Ein Familienbetrieb. Die Räumlichkeiten wirken urig und asiatisch zugleich, das schafft Atmosphäre. Unbedingt reservieren! Wer verfroren ist, sollte im Winter einen Tisch weiter weg von der Tür buchen, da es keinen Windfang gibt und immer wieder gut frische Luft rein geht, wenn neue Gäste kommen. Aber das ist sind Kleinigkeiten, die man mit ein plant (warm anziehen)... und am besten eine aromatische wärmende Pho- Suppe genießen. Die Vorspeisen sind alle selbst gemacht. Unbedingt durchtesten ;-) da warten leckere Überraschungen. Das Essen kommt sehr schnell und die Preise passen.

Klassisches Vietnamesisches Restaurant mit einer großen Auswahl an Gerichten und nettem Ambiente. Die Preise sind meines Erachtens etwas zu hoch.

Reservierung ist nötig, denn es gibt nicht viele Plätze und das Essen ist hervorragend. Abholung geht schnell, auch wenn man nicht vorher bestellt hat.

Ein Tipp für Asiatisches Essen in Erlangen. Sehr netter Service, gemütliches und unkompliziertes Wirtshaus Ambiente - dazu leckere Gerichte zu günstigen Preisen.

Very nice food but a bit crowded

The pho, Vietnamese coffee were really balancing. Deep flavors. But more than the food the hospitality and welcoming nature of the restaurant makes you visit again. It's also near the city centre and Hauptbahnhof so easily reachable.

La comida estuvo muy rica, no se de comida vietnamita por lo que no puedo comparar. Los precios están muy bien. Hay que ir temprano porque se llena.

One of the tastier restaurants in town. Service is not always the best but food compensates. Edit: One bowl of rice for 5 persons? And when we asked for another one she said first finish that one? Unfortunately the service is too bad to compensate for the food

Einer der besten Asiaten, wenn nicht der beste in Erlangen. Und gerade die Mittagspreise sind unschlagbar. Suppe 4a ist stark zu empfehlen!

Sehr gutes Vietnamesisches essen! Sehr authentisch. Sogar mein Lieblingsgericht aus Vietnam, Bun Cha, gibt es. Natürlich wird auch das europärisierte Essen geboten aber man hat ja die Wahl :) Gerne und Immer wieder.

Die Fassade des Restaurants ist unauffällig und kann leicht übersehen werden. Das Restaurant ist aber einen Besuch wert. Angeblich ist es bei Studenten beliebt. Während der Woche gibt es einen verbilligten Mittagstisch.

Preis ist echt ok. Essen war gut mehr China als Vietnam. Schön ist es gibt kleine Portion etwas günstiger aber reichlich

Günstiges vietnamesisches Restaurant, aber das schmeckt man leider auch. Jeden Freitag gibt es 20% auf vegetarische Gerichte. Die Sommerrollen waren jedoch trocken und geschmacklos und das Tofu Gumbao hat einen heftigen Glutamat Nachgeschmack hinterlassen. Lieber ein paar Euro mehr ausgeben für gutes Essen!

So schlecht habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen beim Glas Nudel Salat musste man die Glas Nudel suchen bei Nachfrage warum kaum Glasnudeln da sind war die Antwort ganz normal geschmacklich hatten die Gewürze komplett gefehlt .... das Hauptgericht da war die Soße so süß das es kaum zu essen war geschmacklich auch total fad von asiatisch ist das weit entfernt auch ist dies kein Lokal mit Original Vietnamesischer Küche

Ich komme aus Taiwan und Heute zufällig gefunden dies schöne restaurant von Google Empfehlung, das war ziemlich lecker und die Leute war SO nett, hatte ich Hähnchen Fleisch mit soya Sauce bestellt, wie diesem Foto ich hab hochgeladen, insbesondere die REIS können immer füllen !!!!!! 🍚 Ich bin sehr gerne 10 stern geben, aber leider die Maximum ist nur 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Schade🥺 Gerne wieder !!!!!!!!!

Für mich immer noch das beste vietnamesisches Restaurant. Wir haben schon viele ausprobiert, aber keins kommt an Mekong an. Das Essen ist unglaublich gut, traditionell und authentisch. Es gab bisher nichts auf der Karte, was mir nicht geschmeckt hat. Auch der Service ist super und schnell. In Erlangen ein MUSS!

Von außen noch ganz unscheinbar entfaltet sich im Inneren eine für den deutschen Gaumen ganz neue Welt der Geschmäcker. Allein die Inneneinrichtung versetzt einen unmittelbar in eine andere Welt - ein vietnamesisches Dorf. Der erste Blick in die Karte ist mit den fast 100 verschiedenen Gerichten zunächst etwas überfordernd. Das System wird aber schnell klar: Bei den Hauptgerichten werden 5 verschiedene Fleischsorten oder Tofu als Grundlage mit 9 verschiedenen Gemüse/Soßen-Kreationen kombiniert, dazu Reis oder wahlweise Nudeln. Jedes dieser Gerichte war einzigartig und auf eine dezente weise sehr lecker. Ich war zwar noch nie in Vietnam, aber wenn es dort so schmeckt wie hier ist das Land ein kulinarischer Traum. Die Bedienungen sind sehr nett, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Sogar die Bestellung mit 4 Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten konnte sie sich mühelos merken und alles wurde immer korrekt geliefert. Der einzige potentielle negative Kritikpunkt ist die Temperatur im Innenraum. Es war anfangs etwas stickig warm, was aber einerseits dem heißen Wetter und wenig Lüftungsmöglichkeiten geschuldet war und andererseits theoretisch auch akkurat zum heiß-schwülen vietnamesischen Wetter ist. Insgesamt vergebe ich also 5/5 Sternen, kann ich jedem nur empfehlen!

Essen war gut aber die Portion war für mich klein. Service war irgendwie wenig höfflich aber vllt. wegen Hektik und so. Das war echt voll. Eine Reservierung wird hier empfohlen.

Leckeres Essen, der Mittagstisch von Mo-Sa ist vom Preis angenehm.

Wir waren zu zweite, beide Essen waren absolut geschmackneutral. Das Restaurant war vor mehrere Jahren einer der besten in Elangen. Sehr schade. Kein wunder, dass kaum Gäste da waren.

Nettes Lokal mit guter Auswahl. Speisen nach kurzer Wartezeit speditiv serviert. Geschmacklich sehr europäisch aber gut zubereitet. Portionsgrösse in Ordnung. Punktabzug da die Kartenzahlung angeblich wegen Terminalproblemen nicht möglich ist (siehe auch Bewertungen anderer Gäste 🤔) ein Hinweis dazu auf der Karte wäre hilfreich.

Amazing Vietnamese restaurant I keep going back to, especially during the Lunch Menu time since they have the usual stuff at a reduced price. I’ve had the pho, sweet and sour soup, pork spring rolls, fried pork with vegetables (don’t remember which sauce but i think it was a chilli basil sauce?) and crispy duck with coconut curry on different occasions and it was all top notch. I keep ordering the crispy duck during lunch time since it’s like 11-12€ (served with jasmine rice, mind you) which is a steal! Definitely order the Special Vietnamese Coffee with Milk and Ice (at same cost as without ice). It’s super smooth coffee and great with your meal. 10/10 recommend for students at the Bibliothek 😋

Von außen unscheinbar und nicht wirklich einladend. Innen ein kleiner Innenhofstreifen, schlicht aber irgendwie hat es was nettes. Im Restaurant selbst albackene Einrichtung aber alles sehr stilgerecht und sauber. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aus der Küche hört man landessprachliche Zurufe😉 Die Speisen sind keine riesen Portionen aber das Preis/Leistung Verhältnis passt. Es gibt extra Mittagstisch Speisekarten.Ich habe für gebratene Ente mit Reis und Erdnusssoße 10,90€ bezahlt.Abends ist es merkbar teurer. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und sehr lecker! Für meinen Geschmack war dir Erdnusssoße zu flüssig aber das ist ja immer subjektiv. Parkplätze gibt es keine und wirklich Rollstuhlgeeignet ist es auch nicht, obwohl ich mir vorstellen könnte das man mit Vorankündigung die Tische etwas schieben könnte. Fazit: wirklich lecker und gutes Preis/Leistung Verhältnis Also Empfehlung!!! Wir kommen wieder👍👍👍

Hier war ich schon öfters, ich esse hier in der Regel die Pho Bo. Qualität ist wirklich spitze. Auch die beiden grünen Teesorten oolong und Matcha sind von sehr guter Qualität. Schade daß der Tee direkt in der Kanne zieht, man muss ihn also zügig trinken. Ambiente ist zwar nicht so meins von der Farbgebung (viel rot) aber sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Service spitze, daß Essen kommt schnell und es ist wirkt alles sehr unaufgeregt. Klare Empfehlung.

Quick service, authentic delicious food

Very high C/P value restaurant, lot of people, very warm atmosphere. Pho is always my priority to order, it’s good here but beef is a bit smaller. There are some other selections you can pickup from the menu.
