Meier's Restaurant in Kalkar

We ate at Meier's Restaurant with our children today. We had a fresh chicken wrap with salad. Our children ate delicious fish sticks with fries. They especially enjoyed them because they were really fresh and not the usual frozen fish sticks. We sat comfortably outside. The service was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks, and the food came very quickly, too. We would definitely come back.

Yesterday, the three of us and our grandchild had lunch there for over €60. Since we're traveling in our motorhome, we know a lot of restaurants, but we haven't had such bad food in a long time. Instead of fish fingers, we had fried fish, and the fries were way too salty. Our granddaughter didn't eat anything, which we felt very sorry for. The spaghetti piri-piri had a mild tomato/cream sauce instead of the advertised spicy tomato/herb sauce. The still water was tap water, which isn't stated anywhere on the menu. Speaking of the Mango menu on the table, the prices are much cheaper online. When we expressed our displeasure to the waiter, he was completely unaccommodating. I wouldn't advise anyone to eat at this restaurant. They're cheating and charging far too much for it.

We love eating at Mango's. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, as always, and the atmosphere at the mart is beautiful. Highly recommended! We'll be back 😁

We wanted something delicious to eat, and since we knew the restaurant from the past, we went there spontaneously. The menu outside is a bit limited and simple. Well...we were served quickly and very friendly. The salad plate was very simple and unimaginatively piled up. Almost 90% leaf salad. Two small pieces of mozzarella and two pieces of bread. The salad dressing wasn't a real treat. The small pieces of fish were very dry. Quite a disappointment if you like salad. Then there was a Wiener schnitzel with fries. A great coating. The schnitzel was so, so, so thin, honestly almost see-through. The fries were very well cooked. I love to cook, but I don't need to serve my husband something like that at home. No one gets full from it. The prices aren't justified for what you get on your plate. And finally, the Aperol Spritz. There was so little in the glass that we had to laugh. I was also surprised by the bill. When we wanted to use the restroom, the manager asked us if we were guests on the terrace. Otherwise, it would have cost another €1. It's a real shame, the restaurant used to be much better. In any case, we ate something at home. That's not the point. A real shame

The food was excellent...both the appetizers—goulash soup and fish soup—and the roast beef with onions and South Tyrolean cheese spaetzle...excellent, with only fresh ingredients and a very good taste. Service was quick and friendly. We'd be happy to return.

Favorite dish: Spaghetti Piri Piri

½ liter of beer, small portion of fries with mayo for 12 euros... what can I say?!

Everything was super nice, the staff was really friendly, the food was delicious, and the Kaiserschmarrn was amazing. I highly recommend it. 10/10. Ps: Super cute dog.

Light and shadow We enjoy coming for dinner and will probably continue to come. However, recently the food has decreased. In comparison, the quantity has become significantly smaller - but the prices have risen. The taste was good but we went home hungry. Too bad. Apart from the fact that the boss basically makes you feel “not welcome”, the team was very friendly.

We sat on the terrace in good weather and could overlook the market square. The service was quick and attentive. The food was very good. This is especially true for lasagna.

Food didn't suit my taste. Sand in the salad (no go). Dessert: Kaiserschmarren with far too many raisins. Ambience absolutely fantastic. Service also very nice.

We had a spontaneous meeting with friends this evening. The landlady of Meier's was so unfriendly from start to finish that we felt very uncomfortable. The food was good but we won't be going to this restaurant again. That's not how you treat guests.

We were there today for a company Christmas party. It was a very nice reception and first-class service. The view into the open kitchen inspires confidence in a good meal, and so it was... very, very tasty. 3 course menu lovingly prepared and really very tasty. The service was really top notch. Toilets clean and modern, nothing to complain about. The prices are a bit higher, but the ambience, the service and the equally exclusive food justify them. All in all, a very nice, upscale restaurant located in the middle of Kalkar on the market square where you can invite your wife or girlfriend if you want to offer her something special. Or just to go out for a really tasty and classy meal. It's worth it!!!

I can only agree with the reviews about the inflexible service and poor handling. It was our first time there and there was nothing wrong with the food, but there was a terribly unsympathetic landlady who wanted to lecture guests very indiscreetly and loudly at the next table and didn't want to make any changes to the dish. We won't go there anymore.

Der Wiener Zwiebelrostbraten ist sehr zu empfehlen und die Bedienung sehr freundlich :)

Leicht Essen nur mit Suppe ist nicht möglich. Größere Entrée sind erforderlich. Das Ambiente war angenehm und der Service war geschäftlich.

War jetzt das zweite Mal da und arg enttäuscht, dass es nur zwei vegetarische Gerichte gibt. Und diese sind genauso teuer wie der Rest. Für ein wenig Salat und Gemüselasagne 18€ zu verlangen, finde ich einfach nicht gerechtfertigt. Alles in allem ein teurer Abend für wenig Mehrwert. Schade.

Sehr schönes modernes Restaurant, freundlicher schneller aufmerksamer Service Das Essen war super lecker. Variationen vom Lamm war super zart und sehr schön angerichtet. Der Schwabenteller Von meinem Mann war auch super lecker und auch perfekt angerichtet. Kann ich bestens empfehlen.... Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Absolut empfehlenswert. Hier wird nicht nur mit Leidenschaft gekocht, sondern auch Gastfreundschaft gelebt. Wir sind Stammgäste und bleiben es. Piri Piri, Mango Salat oder Zwiebelrostbraten sind unsere Favoriten. 😋

Wir waren gestern Abend bei Meier‘s und es war perfekt. Der Service von Frau Meier kann absolut überzeugen, nicht zu aufdringlich und absolut keine unnötigen Wartezeiten. Es ist alles perfekt organisiert und man merkt, dass mit sehr viel Leidenschaft bedient wird. Der empfohlene Wein nach Beratung durch Frau Meier hat den Geschmack auf den Punkt getroffen. Sowohl die Hauptspeise wie auch die Nachspeisen konnten auf ganzer Linie überzeugen. Es hat alles gestimmt und der Abend war perfekt. Wir waren hier definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal essen!
