If I could, I would give more stars. The food was really, really, really delicious. I would even go so far as to say I've never eaten anything so delicious. It was a dream; the entire menu, from salad to soup, brioche, bread, dips, and the main menu, was perfect. If you haven't been here yet, you've definitely missed out! The service and ambiance are also great; you won't lack for anything, and we didn't have to wait long.

I can only say the food was very, very good, and the staff was really friendly and helpful 😆 There was plenty of food and generous portions 😋 We were very surprised when we walked in. We were immediately warmly greeted and shown to a table! Once inside and greeted, we ordered harira (Moroccan tomato soup). It took less than 5 minutes for the soup to arrive 🤩 Even the main course was great and arrived quickly 😋 I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!

I broke my fast in this restaurant , the food was delicious! Having hand made bread and tajin ( which is pea with meatballs ) very delicious ! The service is good also ! I was really late , I mean I come just when the maghreb prayer started ! It was full and I find the one last table available !

The best North African restaurant I've ever been to, especially the kefteji merguez was incredibly delicious. I'm from Tunisia myself and would never have thought there would be a better restaurant here in Germany than in my home country.

Food is good, but you will smell like grilled meat and fries from head to toes after eating there. Unfortunately, the kitchen is open and very close to the tables. The smoke from the grill was visible in the restaurant.

Eat: Not saturated. For the price, I expect my stomach to be at least half full. The Iftar menu: Biggest rip off! You order an appetizer for yourself because it's part of the menu, and you have to share it with your neighbor. Cozy furnishings with colorful tiles and wood, great food with unusual combinations: lamb tagine with plums, chestnuts, onions and almond slivers. Price-performance absolutely ok. We'll be back. One point deducted from the ambience because it is a bit cool in the room.

There were 4 of us here and we had different dips as starters and then different Tajins. Everything was delicious...But 2 of the tajins tasted very similar and one tajin had raisins and unfortunately way too many raisins. Only baguette was served, which was a bit disappointing. The portions also seemed a bit small to us. The staff was very nice.

The restaurant is excellent in every way. It is very clean and welcoming and the staff (one person served us when we were here) is very polite and attentive. We ate tagine, couscous and a grilled chicken plate. The food was prepared deliciously and cleanly in a good portion. We can only recommend this restaurant!

The cook/waiter was overwhelmed with a large group of 11 people. The bread, which was included as a standard side dish, was only served upon request. The bread was a cheap baguette. The portions are quite small. The main courses themselves tasted good, but the combination of drafts, cold and inattentive staff who prefer to play around on their cell phones is bad. There are also worn and dirty menus, tea glasses with thick water rims and a dark prison toilet. There are certainly better restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

We ate here on a Tuesday evening and were the only guests. You sit nicely and comfortably in a suitably furnished atmosphere. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious - flavorful and tender. Since we were alone, it also came very quickly, which means everything is pre-cooked. We were served plenty of baguette (too much for two people in my opinion). Unfortunately, there is a point deduction: My portion was small - I don't think one potato and two carrots is appropriate for the price. The tagines weren't completely warm on the outside, which is why the food cooled down quickly. Eaten: vegetarian tagine, chicken leg tagine, hummus

Lack of smile at reception, average quality of meals as well as very poor quantity at quite expensive price. Price-performance ratio is not right in all respects. Unfortunately, he misrepresented Tunisia's generosity and reconstruction.

We traveled from Aachen to Cologne specifically to enjoy Moroccan-Tunisian food and to break our fast. Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. We had to wait over half an hour to get a menu even though the place wasn't full. The card was only brought after I loudly shouted an apology and asked for it. It also took a while before we could order and when I tried to ask a question I was interrupted and the waitress disappeared. The Harira soup we ordered was also disappointing as it tasted like nothing and salt couldn't help. After waiting for a long time, we decided to pay since we had only received a small bowl of soup without bread an hour after breaking our fast. We waited in vain for our food and drinks until I finally got them myself. Even when the food came, I had to get the sauce with it. It seemed like I even had to cook my own food to get it. Other guests besides us were also very upset and went to get their own cutlery. The food was poorly seasoned, contained hardly any meat and mostly salad, which was a disgrace to the kitchen. My Turkish friend wanted to try our cuisine for the first time and got such a disappointing experience. This was a disgrace to the culture and the service only exceeded it ridiculous. Never again!

I happily visited here during Iftar. We have Chorba, Brik, molochia, Bulughur and S7an tounsi. Everything was really, really tasty. But the service is VERY GOOD! Even when they're fasting and the store is full, they're still laughing and really nice and attentive. Respect❤️ to recommend❤️🇹🇳

Finally some Moroccan cuisine (unfortunately, not many in Cologne). They've turned a cold venue into a really comfy and warm establishment. Went for iftar during Ramadan, thus the orders took really long to be served, but they've provided some meze on the house in the meantime. I had Tajine, which I found to taste rather mediocre. Reasonable prices, amazing staff, super friendly, great location. The online reservation system is always a plus for me. Will give it another try after Ramadan in order to evaluate their food when in 'normal' state.

I was trying to break my fast in this restaurant, so I wanted to order something and take it away, however they directly declined my request, they literally "kicked me out in a diplomatic way" saying that everything is reserved and we can't serve you, we're preparing for the people who reserved, they could at least suggest something pre-prepared or easily preparable, but from the direct decline I understood that they work with specific people so if you're not among them, maybe it's not you place. Regarding the cuisine, I didn't eat anything so I can't judge.

An absolutely unique experience! Authentic Tunisian national dishes like those served in the country, plus the most famous sweet dishes from home, which are then complemented by delicious mint tea. I can definitely recommend Medina, fall in love once and forever!

We went there for Iftar. The food was delicious and clean. The man who served us was so friendly and helpful if I'm not mistaken his name is Sameh. We were offered a very delicious Tunisian Yoyo. I gave 4 stars for service because of the delay , but can be understood,the restaurant was full and there was only one server. Prices were reasonable too.

100% Moroccan Tunisian food taste

This is an interesting culinary corner in Cologne, on one side an Ethiopian restaurant, on the other a Latin American supermarket, numerous different Asian restaurants in the area, nice cafés and the Medina fits in wonderfully. A nice little restaurant, the decoration is nice, not too exaggerated, with the appropriate subtle background music. The staff is friendly. We take two large mint teas. They are available in stylish silver jugs. Brik and hummus as a starter, two tajines as a main course and a dessert assida. There was also a basket of good baguette. Everything was tasty and well prepared. A total of 26 euros per person, which I would describe as reasonable given the scope and quality.

While exploring Cologne, we stumbled upon the charming Medina, a local Moroccan restaurant, and it was a great discovery! The tajine dishes tasted very good and authentic. The couscous with Merguez was also simply great. However, instead of baguette, I would prefer a traditional bread from North African cuisine. Service was friendly and helpful. We will be back.

The North African cuisine is one of the best way to experience their rich culture. The amazing taste of lavish spices in different pots enticed the taste bud. I have been looking for the restaurant that can deliver this authenticity. Medina restaurant which is near Barbarossaplatz, saves my day! The spirit of Tunisia shines through the hospitality of the service; the fine selection of decoration - simple and precise; and to top it up... the FOOD!!!! Freshly prepared, I believe with kindness and love which reflect in their taste - simply amazing 🥰

The atmosphere was nice. Service is fast and friendly. Maybe the amount of meat in the dishes could have been more 😊 There is a ‘halal’ sign on the menu.

Unfortunately, my visit to this North African restaurant was disappointing. Even at the reception there was a lack of friendliness while I was shown to my seat. The waiter took a long time to serve the drinks even though there was practically nothing going on in the restaurant. Although the portions were generous, the main course, the classic bulgur, turned out to be bland and unseasoned. It lacked any aromas of spiciness, ginger, or the characteristic spices from (North) Africa. Even the vegetables described in the menu were practically non-existent, only three small potatoes accompanied the dish. The starter was also disappointing as it didn't taste convincing and was more reminiscent of simple supermarket products from the frozen food shelf. A bit of lime, lemon and oil as well as salt and pepper would have been appreciated in this regard. The bread wasn't crispy either and seemed old. Overall, the food unfortunately didn't taste like anything. And the price-performance ratio is not there either. If you are looking for authentically spiced African cuisine, you have definitely come to the wrong place!!!

Das Preis Leistung Verhältnis ist nicht gut. Das Essen war nicht würzig und auch nicht lecker. Die Portionen waren klein. Bei Preisen von knapp 15€ pro Gericht denke ich, dass das Essen in jedem Fall besser schmecken könnte. P.S ich habe das Essen über Wolt bestellt.

Verstehe nicht, wo die ganzen guten Bewertungen her kommen. Die Hauptgerichte waren soweit lecker zubereitet. Das stimmt. Das ist aber auch das einzig Positive. Der Service war schlecht: Keine Aufmerksamkeit bei leeren Getränken, zwischendurch sind beide Kellner zusammen draußen rauchen und wir mussten uns teilweise selber um Besteck und Teller kümmern! Auf die Vorspeise mussten wir 45min warten (und dann kam sie quasi zeitgleich mit dem Hauptgang). Statt Fladenbrot haben es nur aufgebackenes Baguette. Ein Unding. Zu guter letzt scheint der Laden kein ordentliches Entlüftungssystem zu haben: unsere Kleidung stank extrem nach Essen. Wirklich NICHT zu empfehlen leider.

Ich war gestern das erste mal bei Medina etwas essen. Es war unglaublich, man hat das Gefühl mal würde sich in Tunesien befinden. Das Essen war eine 10 von 10. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist groß und es gibt auch viele vegane Gerichte. Der Couscous hat mich an den von meiner Mutter erinnert, und der Service war top. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen !!!

Ich kann mich den positiven Rezensionen nur anschließen! Ich hatte den Grillteller Poulet bestellt und habe dazu auch noch Baguette mit Hummus und einen Salat bekommen. Für den Preis einfach hammer und super lecker! Ich kann es euch nur empfehlen. Kleiner Hinweis: mit EC Karte kann ab 15 Euro bezahlt werden.

(Neues siehe unten) Köln, den 01.06.2023 Da ich noch nie in Marokko war oder bei einer marokkanischen Familie gegessen habe, kann ich nicht sagen, ob es eine authentische marokkanische Küche ist, aber es war auf jeden Fall lecker.😋👌👍 Das Lammfleisch war so zart, dass es sich ohne Messer vom Knochen löste und auf der Zunge zerging. Als Vorspeise wählte ich Hummus, der cremig, fluffig, lecker war. Das Getränk war der klassische süße Minztee. Die Preise sind mehr als fair. Schönes Ambiente, viele schöne Details in der Inneneinrichtung, angenehme Musik im Hintergrund. Sympathische Bedienung. Nur wenige Gehminuten vom Barbarossaplatz entfernt und damit eine direkte Straßenbahnverbindung zum Hauptbahnhof und Umgebung. Bezahlung ist mit Karte oder Bargeld möglich. Ich kann das Medina nur empfehlen, ich werde wiederkommen. Update 23.09.2023 Mein zweiter Besuch im marokkanischen Restaurant Medina. We ordered Tajine and Couscous and the food was really delicious. If you ever longing for a taste of home, and you want to eat a meal that reminds you of your mom’s food, this is right place for you

Waren schon ein paar Mal vor Ort und heute auch bestellt. Unser Hit war heute die Tajine Kefta. Sie war sehr authentisch und sehr würzig abgeschmeckt. Ein bisschen so als wäre Khlea verarbeitet worden. Ein bisschen weniger ölig/fruchtigere Tomatensauce hätte es nach meinem Geschmack sein können. Vor Ort ist der Service nett und der Tee sehr gut. Die Oliven sind eine top Qualität. Uns fehlt auf der Karte Boef et Prune und Zitronen beim Poulet und es wär natürlich der Hit, wenn ihr Frühstück und Snacks (Bastilla und Baghrir) anbieten würdet. Toll wären auch Harira oder Loubia. Vielen Dank für das leckere Essen Edit: musste meine Rezension überdenken, da es direkt die Straße hoch einen marokkanischen Lebensmittelladen gibt mit marokkanischem Brot, man hier aber nur Baguette (erneut warmgebacken) oder das arabische dünne Brot bekommt. Leider war der Hummus heute auch ranzig. Da ist noch Luft nach oben. Wir bestellen trotzdem wieder, da die Hauptgerichte wirklich gut und ausgewogen abgeschmeckt sind!
