McDonald's in Viersen

So, yesterday I went to McDonald's in Viersen for the first time in a very, very long time. It was quite late, around 1:00 AM, and I was shocked by what I saw. The floor was covered in dirt and grime, as were the tables. Behind the counter in the kitchen, it wasn't any better—simply disgusting. The service was inadequate; one person didn't know what the other was doing. So, I will definitely never eat at McDonald's Viersen again, and that's coming from Viersen itself.

The service is terrible. We just wanted to grab something quickly at the drive-thru and had to wait in line for 40 minutes, then another 20 minutes in the parking lot to get our food. On top of that, they didn't even say anything, like sorry it took longer than expected. No, the food was just thrown into the car. If my son hadn't been with me, they would have had a very different experience. It's just a terrible place.

A few years ago, my review would have been significantly better. I was there on Friday and waited at least half an hour for my order along with several other people. At one point, a woman complained that she had an appointment and that it was unacceptable to have to wait so long for fast food. I completely agree; it's called fast food for a reason! The staff seems completely overwhelmed these days. They need more time for a short break or something; the constant stress is undeniable. Or they need more staff. Something urgently needs to change, otherwise, this place won't last much longer. I think the reason it's still so busy is probably due to its location. It can't be the service! And the restrooms are a complete squalor. They don't even have disposable towels, just those germ-ridden hair dryers. And the toilets themselves look like they desperately need at least a full bottle of disinfectant per bowl. My advice: Avoid this dump; it used to be good! At least the cheeseburgers are tasty. Update from November 4, 2025: The store hasn't improved. I went there again yesterday and, since I had some errands to run afterward, I needed to use the restroom. But apparently, they don't think it's necessary to check if there's any toilet paper at all. Let's be honest, the store is only still in business because it's located at a busy intersection of two main roads, very close to the city center and the train station, and there's a gas station right next door.

Ohh that is a great mc donalds restraunt compared to the one in my city. Everything always works, the employees are nice, they listen to special orders like ice in the drinks and such and it has always been clean. I wish the McDonald's restaurant in my hometown was that good lol.

After more than 20 minutes and only after asking, I finally received my Happy Meal. Orders are simply rejected, not processed. This has absolutely nothing to do with a fast-food chain. Organization is nonexistent.

Waited 20 minutes in the drive-thru for 20 nuggets. No apology, no compensation, NOTHING! Even 0 stars would be an exaggeration.

It's always better not to order here.

The McDonald's is one of the worst I know, food is always cold, you wait forever for your order

One of the worst McDonald's branches I know. You can't understand a word in the drive-thru. The mayo or ketchup you paid for is always forgotten, and if you complain about something, they argue. But as a customer, I have every reason to complain about the prices. This is still run-of-the-mill fast food, and I expect my order to be complete. It's sad that people still eat this garbage.

Unfortunately, my visit was very disappointing. The tables, chairs, and restrooms were noticeably dirty – the overall appearance of the place was unkempt. The staff seemed stressed and irritated, which was also evident in their interactions with customers. What struck me as particularly negative was that the kitchen gave off an unhygienic impression from the outside. The preparation of the meals was also not as expected: The products deviated significantly from the usual quality and some of them looked anything but appetizing. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience – there is urgent need for improvement here.

I don't understand the German menu. I don't understand anything. I waited a long time. It's nonsense. The salespeople don't have time here anymore. I won't come back.

1 star, preferably none, but it's not like the store is to blame. 09.10.2025 in the morning. Instead of closing the MC Drive first and stopping them from ordering, you could get the situation under control bit by bit. If someone orders something for a hundred euros in the morning, you have to be able to say no because the order will hold everything up. But as a shift manager, you don't have that in mind; you only want to generate sales and stress.

Ordered a plant wrap (vegetarian) and received a wrap with real meat. 2 stars because I got a refund.

Well, it's McDonald's... the access to the McDonald's Drive-In is a bit "special"... and the language skills of the staff (friendly and helpful) - let's say "borderline"...

I waited an hour for two cheeseburgers. Next time, I'd rather go back to Kaldenkirchen! The service there is better and it's cleaner.

Sorry, but such a disrespect from the elderly lady with short hair!!! I was standing at one of two checkouts, and it was impossible to see which one was open because there was no one at the checkout. An elderly gentleman stood behind me. The cashier with short hair saw that I was waiting, so she served the elderly gentleman behind/next to me first, since I was apparently standing at the closed checkout. When I asked, I was told that the checkout was closed. I then asked how I was supposed to or could know that, since there was no signage. She simply said that it was, and that was that, no discussion!!! This was the end of my lunch break snack. I will not be visiting this establishment again. Unfriendly

By FAR the worst McDonald's in the area. Horrible wait times (in my case always longer than 30 minutes). The staff, which is really pitiful there, are completely overwhelmed. The food is just standard McDonald's, but you often get soft fries and lukewarm drinks. Not to mention weekends... the wait can sometimes be 45+ minutes. The parking lot is full 9/10 times anyway, so getting a spot is a gamble. I have no idea how management can accept this; mistakes can always happen. But this place is the epitome of bad.

The cashiers are very angry and arrogant, they do not give a receipt for the order although they should.

Very slow service... very long wait times (they even lose orders... many people who ordered after me already received their orders while I waited for almost 40 minutes, and only after speaking to the manager did I get my order... I was very disappointed with this place...).

Ordered via the app, but couldn't pay with PayPal, so we went into the store. Three employees stared at us while we were waiting at the checkout, trying to pay. After 10 minutes, an employee finally took pity on us and took our order, after we kept getting furtive glances. So we went over to the checkout. After 20 minutes, I noticed that our rather large order kept getting skipped. I mentioned it, and an employee started processing our order. This then created the Mississippi Coke, and three people had to hold back the flood, drowning 1,000 napkins in it. One employee, really nice (without irony), said, "One cleans, the others keep packing." Two clean, one disappears into thin air, no one packs orders. Another 1,000 drowned napkins later, our order continues to be processed, but this one employee is standing there like a bull in a china shop, not knowing what to do, parks our order somewhere in the middle of nowhere, just not under the heat lamp, then walks away, comes back, wants to make the drinks. Meanwhile, our food is still freezing somewhere in the middle of nowhere. That was definitely too much for us. We spoke to the nice employee from before, who also seemed to have a bit more to say, and asked if we could cancel our order, because I can get quick and cold food from my freezer. He then called the branch manager over. She came forward without even looking at us, let alone speaking to us, tapped away at the cash register, and silently pressed my money into my hand. I don't really understand what fast food restaurants and customer service mean, but apparently they're not from this planet either.

Waited 35 minutes for food, even though it wasn't busy. How do they even call this fast food? The fries were in the fryer way too long. They also delivered the wrong dip, and the employee couldn't explain in either English or German why everything was going so wrong. And then they made us wait unnecessarily to return the reusable cup :( What are we supposed to think of this McDonald's? Keep your distance!

A 30-minute wait on a Monday morning is well below McDonald's standards... And no apology, just excuses... Not recommended.

I don't like going there, only for my children's sake. Let's start with this: the display could be removed because the employees can't finish the order in that time, even if the display says it's ready for pickup. Secondly, and this has happened so many times, things get forgotten or mixed up every time. I'm really angry, but I'm not going back. My kids wanted chicken mec nuggets, which were in their Happy Meal cheeseburger? My Bic Mac looks like it was slapped on. You can't do your job properly, especially since it wasn't particularly busy. We got there at 1:19 p.m., our order number was 364. Nice is something else.

Worst branch in the area. 1.) Always filthy in the evenings/dirty, uncleaned tables/benches, and a filthy floor. 2.) The drive-thru info screen has been broken/flickering for half a year. 3.) Sometimes you simply can't order in the drive-thru and are told to go inside. 4.) The visible kitchen area is sometimes extremely unhygienic/unappetizing. 5.) Waiting numbers are acknowledged/called out in advance even though the food isn't even ready. 6.) Vermin (lots of flies) inside.

By far the worst McDonald's in the area! Ordered a McFlurry with Smarties and chocolate sauce, got a McFlurry with double Smarties and no chocolate sauce. Okay, that can happen! Instead of adding some chocolate sauce to the ice cream and waiting in the looming queue at the McFlurry Drive-Thru, no, better to argue. Please get out and go to the previous counter and I'll just do what it says on my receipt, were the comments of a very dismissive, unfriendly, rude, bored, overwhelmed employee at the counter! And again: I'll just do what it says on my receipt, not true! Because the lady forgot a small fries on top of that! Ordered 9 items, one item was wrong, and one wasted altogether! Welcome to McDonald's in Viersen! Got my money back for the ice cream instead of just filling it with chocolate sauce, didn't get any fries at all, unfortunately realized too late and wasted 2 euros on what is by far the worst branch of this chain! Thank goodness we don't go to these places that often! One star is actually too much for the unfriendly, unqualified lady at the counter! But you can't go any lower!

They're completely overwhelmed. Every second order was a complaint. The table stands were missing from the order terminal. The whole thing seemed disorganized. The staff was bustling back and forth.

Fast food was a thing of the past! Today was the third time this year that a burger was missing from a takeout order. Plus, I waited over 30 minutes again – during that time, the drinks were nice and warm, and the food near the warming area was nice and cold – thanks. Things are much better at other branches!

Staff yell at you for legitimate complaints – items are missing every time now – and management is no longer concerned – even a complaint about McDonald's Munich and a request to contact the owner, the Froitzheim family, went unanswered! I hope at least the hygiene standards meet their standards. Because the rest is disastrous! Update 05/24: Disrespectful staff, larger orders in one bag, unacceptable! It's a shame how 5 stars have now become 1! Edit 09/22 Very friendly team leader, nice staff. Great food, best McDonald's branch for miles around. Was there today, but I've never experienced anything like this (to take away). One of them wanted to explain to me the number I had. I'm sorry, but I didn't understand her. They call out, "The numbers are wrong," no one came to me. She said no. One of them said my number went down and threw everything in the bag. She just said thank you and goodbye. If they don't feel like doing something else, I was there last time... I'll take the trip to Willich.

Fastest drive-thru restaurant nearby, faster than in MG, where you can wait up to 30 minutes in the drive-thru. TOP!!! Keep up the good work!

Very dirty place; it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The tables were all dirty and the floor was incredibly slippery. I don't even want to start with the restrooms.

The Viersen McDonald's is unbelievably bad. Items are regularly prepared incorrectly, and you often wait 30 minutes for a McFlurry, even though it's just one. Today I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk... Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I got to the car that they didn't even froth the milk, they just poured it in. That's unacceptable at these prices!

We were there for lunch on a Sunday. It was very empty. Some of the tables and seats were dirty. I got a burger with the patty missing. When I asked, they brought me a new burger. This was also forgotten. So I had to go back to the counter.

Unfortunately, the staff is overwhelmed; fries are sometimes thrown into the fryer twice because the rest of the burgers aren't ready yet. Or, the kitchen is fast, the staff is too slow, and the burgers are half-cold. Not the best McDonald's.

Here's an excerpt from my complaint email: After we had completed our order with table service, we initially waited for over 30 minutes. We then spoke to an employee, who reacted annoyed and said, "The other customers are waiting too." After 5 minutes, our order arrived at our table. We first noticed that a wrap and the sauce were missing. Furthermore, a coffee was delivered instead of an iced matcha latte. We informed the employee of this. We then received a wrap later – but the wrong one. We didn't even mention it again. However, the matcha came in regular instead of a grande – but we then mentioned this to the employee again. He then came back to the table and brought a grande matcha, but again the wrong one (it was warmed instead of iced). But we didn't even mention it again because, to be honest, we were completely gone by then. It was simply a disaster.

Very unfriendly the staff never asked what you wanted, you were insulted and insulted

The waitress doesn't serve customers properly, and is very unfriendly, and then they're surprised that you're becoming unfriendly yourself. Instead of saying that the machine is being cleaned and you'll have to wait a moment, you get yelled at. Because she didn't hear you calling your number twice. Dear friends of good taste, after my friends and I had exhausted ourselves physically at the Wild Hilde, it quickly became clear where we would adequately replenish our calorie deficit: at the restaurant "Zur goldenen Möwe" in tranquil Viersen. The parking lot was surprisingly empty, in contrast to the restaurant's reception area. We ordered our food at the terminal, once again without table service, of course. Is McDonald's trying to eliminate table service across the board? We'll stay tuned... Well, so we took our number and looked for a spot that matched our cheerful mood. After spotting a seat, we cleared the cluttered table and chased away the flies that were feasting on the leftovers. Instead of table service, it seems they're now offering Adventure Dinner. The preparation of the food took a very, very long time, the order numbers flashed across the screen, but there was no food in sight. The musical accompaniment to our midnight snack was thus replaced by incomprehensible shouting of numbers. The staff seemed visibly annoyed by the chaos. The quality of the food was disappointing: the rippled fries were lukewarm, the McSundae was runny—a familiar feeling, home sweet home. Where will we end up next? Stay tuned, because: THE RIFFEL IS REAL!

A disaster. You think that mistakes can happen to anyone. In these McDonald's, it's really always the case that something is missing from your order. Even worse when you stand at the drive-thru for 45 minutes for a shake, and even with one order, they manage to make a mistake and give you the wrong one. It's not about the money. Service is terrible, 15 minute wait time

Disastrous again. I'd love to review this shitty place every month, because it's truly disastrous. I waited almost 25 minutes for 20-pound nuggets. When I asked why it took so long, I got a curt reply: "No German." No sorry, bon appetit, or anything else... but you can't expect that if you don't speak German.

A disastrous visit – absolutely disappointing! Our visit to McDonald's was a disgrace. The order was completely wrong: The fries were initially missing – and when they finally arrived, they were almost raw. The Royal TS hamburger was ordered with beef, but this was exactly what was missing at first, and we had to request more. Instead of an apple turnover, a peach turnover was served without comment. The table was dirty, the wait was extremely long, and the staff were visibly overwhelmed. Overall, a chaotic and unprofessional experience. This shouldn't happen in a globally operating chain restaurant. Customer service, quality, and cleanliness: none of these were even remotely evident here. A visit we definitely won't repeat.

Unfortunately, I'm at a loss for words either... Every time, something's either missing or done incorrectly. This is how this shitty place makes a lot of money. You wait forever and then get the wrong, cold burgers... Unbelievable!

The McDonald's in Viersen is the most disgusting and incompetent McDonald's I've ever ordered food from. With every order, something is always made wrong or forgotten. The fries are always completely inedible, wobbly and cold, sometimes even raw. Plus, you wait forever for your order, even when there are enough employees on duty. However, they seem pretty overwhelmed most of the time. Therefore, not a good rating.

An absolute nightmare. The food isn't included in this review because it's just standard fare at McDonald's. It was shocking how the employees shouted at each other, so loudly that you could almost hear them outside. Disagreements and conflicts can arise at any time, but they should be resolved professionally and definitely not like this.

The fries were white, soggy, cold, and inedible. The hamburgers/cheeseburgers were cold and also inedible. If children don't like their meal, then the poor quality speaks for itself. We'll never see this restaurant again. Unfortunately, we have to give it one star.

Fast food has taken on a whole new dimension. I placed an order at a vending machine, then had to wait 32 minutes for it to be picked up. The orders were a mess; the staff had no control. If an order was "Abholbereit," the receipt was printed, but you still had to wait 20 minutes. Parking is a nightmare. My advice: go to another location if you really want fast service.

Recently, the worst McDonald's in the area, if not in all of North Rhine-Westphalia. An army of employees runs around behind the counter; there's little to moderately busy, yet the wait for your food here is just as long as in a restaurant. Usually up to 30 minutes. The control panel for checking whether the food is still being prepared or ready isn't used as intended by McDonald's; instead, people with an "accent" call out a number in a very faint voice. You order a milkshake, but you don't get a straw. Something's almost always missing from your order. The fries look like corpses, they're so pale and raw, it's a disaster! If I order a milkshake, please give me a straw, damn it! So either the people working here just don't give a damn, or it's urgently time for a change in management. I've witnessed the scene described above at least three times in the four weeks I've been here.

What a place, what a place. The last time I was in Mönchengladbach I experienced such incompetent employees. I can only recommend that you improve your staff. Fast food can be done differently. I've been standing at your counter for 25 minutes for a few nuggets and a couple of burgers. Incompetence has a name: McDonald's.

We waited 30 minutes for two shakes and nuggets. The shakes sat for almost 15 minutes before we got them... The staff were completely overwhelmed... It wasn't busy, and yet we still had to wait a long time. Other customers left without their orders... This has nothing to do with fast food.

We placed an order online. When I arrived, I had to wait a long time for my food. The parking lot is truly a disaster in Viersen. The staff at the windows are unfriendly. Received the food, and as always, something was missing. Received what was missing, went home. I live about 5 minutes away, just a side note. When I got home, I unpacked. I was about to repack the burger and bring it back. I have no idea what the employees' motivation is, but for a fast-food restaurant, it's a real no-go in Viersen. I had to put the lettuce and cheese on the burger myself; there was practically no sauce. Every burger was put together absolutely poorly. It doesn't slide off by itself. The salad was very lazily cut 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's truly a disaster in Viersen, I'd prefer minus 10 stars.

Food is just McS... if the burger is messy, that's just how it is. I think that happens in all branches. In itself, McS is always quite good if you want a quick bite and are simply in the mood for fast food. Sure, there's some dirty food somewhere, but it still tastes great. But that's exactly where the catch lies with the Viersen branch. In four out of five cases, you simply can't call it "quick" or "fast" food anymore. The place may be empty, full,... whatever, but the service still manages to make even the smallest orders take an unusually long time. This can lead to a wait of 15 minutes for a single McSunday, for example. In comparison, it's much faster at the Düsseldorf locations, every time. But you also notice when the shift manager in Viersen has to put pressure on them, because the orders just aren't going out, even though there seem to be eight people behind the counter, but only three orders are open. It's also very common for things to be forgotten with moderate to large orders. However, as soon as you get in touch, you'll receive the product promptly.

We ordered an iced latte. It was coffee slush with ice. It had nothing to do with an iced latte. The fries were ice cold and unsalted. There were no toys in the Happy Meal either. The team leader was very unfriendly. He complained loudly to his colleagues in front of the customers.

You get what you're used to - sometimes long waits at the drive-thru. *Update - corrected from 4 stars to 2! The drive-thru has been a complete disaster for 1.5 years now! 8 out of 10 orders are incorrect! And as a new "highlight" (which actually made me change my old review) - it's not even enough to count the "pieces" in the car anymore...this time even a burger IN the packaging was incorrect! Am I supposed to open everything in the car? Maybe try again if there are special requests? Additionally, I was once charged twice when paying cashless. They didn't believe me that my PayPal payment had been processed (even though I showed proof on my phone), so I paid again by card, only to "of course" see everything confirmed online three days later that PayPal had also been charged. I then had to spend almost three weeks struggling with various support teams until I got my money back...in the end, thanks in part to the "drive-thru".

I had a really good experience at this McDonald’s. The service was quick, the staff were efficient, and my order was ready faster than expected. Everything I received was hot, fresh, and tasted just as it should. It’s always nice when fast food actually feels fresh and not like it’s been sitting around. The location was clean and well-maintained, which definitely made the overall experience more enjoyable. I also appreciated that the ordering process — whether at the counter or via the kiosk — was simple and smooth. One small suggestion I have is regarding the food options. It would be amazing if McDonald’s could offer a halal alternative to bacon for people who don’t eat pork for religious or dietary reasons. For example, using halal turkey bacon or beef bacon would be a great option in sandwiches like the McMuffin or burgers that normally come with bacon. This small change would make McDonald’s more inclusive and allow more people to enjoy the full range of menu items without compromise. Overall, it was a great visit, and I would definitely come back. But adding halal bacon options would take it to the next level.

We drove into the drive thru and an Indian employee refused to make the wrap without salad. She could have just said in the kitchen without salad. My Royal TS came with onions even though I said no onions. The wrap was cold, the fries were too salty and the fries were also put upside down in the bag so that you could collect the fries before eating. The employee was also very unfriendly.

Waiting for 40 minutes for food, not a large order

We wanted to try MC again, but unfortunately it was a total flop for 75 euros. The food was cold and the chicken burger was raw, which is not acceptable. For me, MC in Viersen is definitely dead. If the chicken is not cooked through, the friendship ends with me.

The worst first. - Experienced several times: "Which one is zero?" "Ah, sorry, I don't know, I forgot." Great for diabetics. - Wet wipes and no sign. If only it were at least dry enough that you could walk, I thought it was really funny today to slide with crutches. - The store is so overwhelmed with orders when it gets busy that things often arrive at the wrong place at three corners and are cold anyway. At least you've only waited 30 minutes (fast food...) Exchanges or replacements do work, but you have to overcome the passive defense called the language barrier, because German often doesn't get you very far. (No offense, but if I notice someone wants something from me, I'll call my colleague who might help out for a bit.) Positive: Most bulbs work, almost even most of them in one color. (Please don't ask about the bathroom, I don't want to talk about it.)

The reviews show how bad the place is! The owner doesn't care, otherwise he'd take action. The employees are overwhelmed, and something's always missing. If I were the owner, I'd turn everything upside down! Hopefully, a Burger King will open in Viersen; everything is better than this place. The McKinneys in Holland are much better.

This McDonald's doesn't even deserve 1* this should be -100000* It looks like it survived WW2, but barely! I've been there 3 times and it always looks disgusting, It's not because I went there on a particularly apocalyptic day, apparently it's just normal! The floor is disgusting, extremely dirty! The tables look like they have never seen a cleaning product or a little cloth! Clients are clearly to blame also, not only the staff. It looks like wild animals took over the place. Why is it that people are not picking their tray and putting the trash in the trash??? Why is food all over the tables and on the floor??? Never in my 34 years of life I have seen such disguntig McDonald's, I can only wonder how the kitchens are. 3 times I've been there and there is only 1 person cleaning the room and always super slow! The staff is also so slow to prepare the food that we start to wonder if they forgot our order or if we ever actually ordered our food. They also do mistakes with the orders. Why decor is so different from all other McDonald's? Usually there is a standard. Honestly it bothers me because it makes the restaurant look dirty (which it already is because of the disgusting clients) with those graffitis on the walls and metal stuff for decor, what the hell is this? Is this a post apocalypse decor? Post-war?? I don't get it And it is the only McDonald's in this town. How can I make an official complain to the McDonald's? I can't believe that this restaurant is something they would like to show serve people!
