McDonald's in Marl

McDonald's in Marl is a complete disaster. Wait times were over an hour, even though there were only seven customers in the restaurant. Then another 25 minutes waiting in the parking lot before you could even leave. The food was absolutely disgusting and cold... It's an outrage to eat here. There were more employees than customers. The employees were also completely unfriendly. They stood around bored, ignored the customers, and picked their noses. I don't understand why the health department isn't doing its job...

I ordered two burgers, one without lettuce and one without tomatoes and cucumbers. In the end, both had no tomatoes and cucumbers, but both had lettuce… The order details were printed on the packaging… I don't understand what was so complicated about that?

The food is greasy, the floor is dirty. The service is unenthusiastic. Not rude, but not great either.

I just popped into McDonald's for a quick lunch for two. Things moved pretty slowly. I ordered, among other things, two McFlurries, each with two toppings, in reusable cups. Unfortunately, the employee missed that, but no big deal. I took the ice cream and got my deposit back. (Of course, I forgot to check the change, and guess what? There was only one deposit refund.) But that wasn't all: when I got home, I noticed that one of the ice creams was missing the chocolate sauce. Hopefully, you guys can do better than that...

Eat somewhere else. Waited half an hour for a cold burger. Outrageous! The staff and management desperately need replacing; I won't be going there again until then. At the drive-thru, all you hear is a "hello" 😅😅 I've never experienced a McDonald's this bad. It's a real shame.

Waited 30 minutes for a cheeseburger. At the counter, I only heard a strange "Hello" from the staff. No German was spoken. McDonald's wasn't that bad, it's a shame about the owner; a new management and a completely new team would probably be appropriate. A disaster!!! I've never waited so long in any other drive-thru as I did every time I was in Marl. I'm not bothering to eat inside, because it's definitely not clean and pleasant.

The food is at least prepared properly. But only the fries are freshly prepared and really hot, both cheeseburgers are lukewarm, and the coffee is almost cold. The wait time is a good 20 minutes for a MC Smart meal plus a coffee, and that's in a manageable situation. The staff sometimes complains to each other, and the processes seem uncoordinated. Only when the store manager arrives after a while does everything become more relaxed. No-go A small child drops his consolation prize and wants a new one. The response is: "You'll have to go to your mother and get a euro." Are you serious????

Unfortunately, the promises are false. There's a giant banner at the entrance saying that if you show your electric car's charging status at the nearby charging stations, you'll get a free soft drink or coffee. The staff's explanation is that it's still there from the previous owner. But they don't even bother to take it down. In my opinion, this is unfair competition.

I eat at various McDonald's locations three times a week. From Bochum to Essen to Ahnsberg. But the location in Marl is probably the only one that cooks its food with a toilet hairdryer. It's the only McDonald's where the food doesn't taste like anything.

You have to take a week off work for the MC Drive, and that's how long you wait for your food.

No, McDonald's doesn't work like that. You're now slower than "Slow Food Restaurants"! I'm typing this while standing in the McDrive: Completely overwhelmed in every area. Massive overwhelm leads to massive wait times, which in turn lead to stress for everyone involved, and then more overwhelm. And so it just keeps getting worse... I basically only drive through the McDrive so that at least the congested parking lot in front of and behind the counter serves as a means of structure and leverage. Even today, the average line here during rush hour is at least 40 minutes, both in the store and in the McDrive. Pay your people better and hire more people. Update from the next day... after 50 minutes, I was finally out of the McDrive line. The fact that the shouting match between the McDrive man and the customer behind me didn't escalate into violence is due to the self-control of those involved. As I said, the stress was boiling over. And the sad thing: the last 10 times before that were exactly the same. No matter what time of day.

We were "wedged" in the drive-thru and spent a good hour there. The hour was rewarded with cold fries :) The operator should react quickly.

This restaurant was one of the dirtiest and most unpleasant McDonald’s I have ever visited. The dining area felt grimy, no napkins were available anywhere, and the whole place looked run down. The toilets were in terrible condition. The disabled toilet had no working light, and the men’s toilet was extremely cramped with no toilet paper and no hand towels. With small children who needed to wash up after eating, this was a nightmare. The staff were equally disappointing. They looked tired of both their jobs and the customers. When I asked for napkins and mentioned the missing supplies in the toilets, an older woman behind the counter threw a few napkins at me without even facing me. It was clear she had no interest in helping. I have visited over 100 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide, and this is without doubt the second worst. The combination of poor hygiene, broken facilities and rude staff makes this place unacceptable. If McDonald’s cares about its reputation, someone from management should visit unannounced and see how bad the situation really is.

The parking lot is a disaster. You have to wait in line for 20 minutes to get out of the McDrive because the waiting lane is in the parking lot. 3 of the 4 terminals inside are broken, and the order display is broken, so you don't know when your order will be ready. Waited a total of 25 minutes to get one shake and a Big Mac that was still cold.

Ever since McDonald's Marl started delivery, the place has been an absolute disaster! Fast food is a completely different story! 10-minute break between orders being taken from the drive-up cars – I can't find the words to describe it! I can't eat as much as I want to vomit! From now on, I'll drive to Haltern especially.

What's wrong with this McDonald's?! Even one star is too many!! We order here often, and every time there are problems 😡 WHY Every time something is missing, or we wait 3.5 hours for the food. Then today the boss got on the phone and said, "That can happen with such a large order." It was 4 main meals and 1 salad. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! 😡 I'm checking everything two or three times right now. What's not acceptable is that they talk so aggressively, loudly, and RUDELY to their customers. When I have to call again and again to report that something is missing, it's normal for me to be a little upset. YOUR JOB AS A BOSS is to calm the customers down and be friendly!!! If you're overwhelmed as a boss, it's time to take a vacation!!! I don't think it's in your best interest to deliver to the same address twice and have upset customers. Just a regular Meccan. However, you should avoid the McDonough drive-thru and the parking lot in the afternoon. It's a complete disaster. If there are more than three cars in the McDonough drive-thru, which is often the case, you can't get out of the parking lot in less than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, mistakes often happen when it's so busy, so you're forced to double-check everything before going back in. We actually drive a few kilometers farther than to visit this location during rush hour.

Super friendly staff, top quality and no long waiting times

After receiving moldy food, they simply gave us new burgers and tons of fries that no one eats anymore. Our appetites have clearly disappeared. They didn't offer compensation in the form of a refund.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. No one knows which order is being served. So it can happen that you wait 15 to 20 minutes, while orders of the same size are simply served much sooner. I should have checked the order, but I had the... full. The end result was that my order was not packed at all. I still paid for everything. It's really, really annoying to then have to watch everyone eating. That's on me, but it really shouldn't happen.

The food is just McDonald's. It looks good on the poster, but it's carelessly slapped on the package, but you don't have to eat there... You ALWAYS wait a very, very long time for food. If there are three cars in front of you at the drive-thru, you'll easily wait 30-40 minutes, and it's just as much inside. Plus, there's no way around the parking lot. Very poorly thought out! The food is typically good at McCaskill. But the staff seems to work in slow motion... so you can't just rush things at McCaskill!!!

This store is awful. I stood in the drive-thru for 45 minutes, and then all the sauces, mayo, etc. were missing. Worst store in the Recklinghausen district. They should have more stringent controls on whether stores are allowed to operate.

We ordered online for delivery. The delivery time was stated to be between 40 and 65 minutes. After two hours, the food still didn't arrive. That's pretty cheeky, considering you have to pay extra for the delivery fee and service. Very disappointing.

We've ordered from there several times during our lunch break (I work about 10 minutes away from the branch), and after an hour and a half, our order still hasn't arrived. We called and were always told "it should be here any minute," which is obviously a lie considering it's only 10 minutes away. Next time, you can keep your food, because I want to eat during my break and can't eat while I have to work. Thanks for nothing.

Very disappointing. Despite the lack of customers, the wait time was extremely long. The staff was inattentive and seemed disinterested. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable – you felt completely unwelcome. For a McDonald's, I expect at least basic service and a modicum of friendliness. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

The McDonald's Drive-In is a CATASTROPHE. The employees are overwhelmed and can't keep up. I've been there 5 times on my way home and ordered 5 times on the go/online. Always when I was 3 to 5 km away. The food was never ready, not even close. It was too cold to be fresh. The wait time is unbelievable, whether inside or at the drive-thru. If you wait less than 15 to 20 minutes, absolutely nothing happens, WITHOUT it being busy or busy. Everyone is milling around, bustling around, working, and actually doing something, but it seems completely inefficient. Ordering online isn't worth it and shouldn't be offered here. Today, on June 3, 2025, the employee refused to redeem my coupon number 5002 (2 classics of your choice with large sides). Her argument was completely pointless, and she said only vegetarian burgers were included in the offer. I canceled the order process and drove to Burger King in Recklinghausen.

Nevertheless, they handed me the ice cream – even though it was clear I couldn't take it right away and it would melt in the meantime. When I asked to wait to get it, all I got was, "I can't wait, you have to pull up." How can I do that when it's full? Then they simply slammed the window shut in my face. No understanding, no consideration, and definitely not customer-friendly. Very disappointing. We got a milkshake instead of a McFlurry.

On May 27, 2025, at around 5:30 p.m., I waited for a while at the McColl's drive-thru. At some point, a voice told me they weren't taking orders because they were understaffed. I should drive out, but I could go inside and order. The white Audi in front of us, however, took a Coke from the window and parked at the front of the waiting area. Hey, then you should tell everyone that and not randomly send people away. That's unacceptable. Last time I was there!

It started at the terminal with the order, and the employee also had a hard time. The fries were just warm and soggy. The McRib buns were like rubber, really disgusting. That was my first and last visit to Marl.

The food only got one star because it didn't get any food at all. The drive-thru service was extremely rude. They said they couldn't take an order because they were alone. Normally, I can't complain about McDonald's branches; they're always great. This time I was in Marl, on Freerbruchstraße. I ordered the meal via the mobile app and picked it up at the branch. Underground service in Mc Drive. You stand in line FOR FOREVER, the drivers behind you become aggressive because the other customers can't get out of the parking lot and have to stand behind you forever because you're blocking everything. The largest dirt shop there is in Marl. Mc Drive Lehr, 30 minute wait for a cheeseburger menu. The management allows itself to be denied by the staff. It's gotten worse and worse over the last few years, wrong burgers, bags packed incorrectly, etc. For me, the shop should be closed. You can't run a restaurant that way. It's an indictment of McDonald's itself! You don't get an apology, just a shrug of the shoulder because not everyone there understands German but works in customer service.
