McDonald's in Königswinter

Today (May 11th, 2024) on the way back home we stopped for dinner at McDonald's in Königswinter. This was the best McDonald's experience in a very long time! Clean shop, top service, got our food quickly, fresh burgers, hot fries and crispy nuggets. Big congratulations to the team!

Were thrown out of the mcdrive without any sense.

Music way too loud! Unfortunately, everything is now far too expensive. But food is always there quickly and well prepared.

Strong McDonald's. It was busy and in the middle of the night but everything worked out. Happy Meal delivered in a classic way after which I was happy.

Honestly? The staff was either understaffed, overwhelmed, or both. There were huge queues at midnight. We were given the wrong food several times, or the food wasn't even packaged correctly. And the carts for the dirty trays were not emptied. The trays were already piled on the cart and on adjacent tables. Nobody cared about it. McDonald's new concept, where employees are locked in isolation in the kitchen without having any connection to the customers and the restaurant interior, is not working. McDonald's has become really bad and uncomfortable. The service is also worse and the waiting times are often longer. I'm increasingly looking for alternative options because I don't like it anymore. It's just a waiting room atmosphere with bad service and bad food.

We were in transit, we were served very quickly and can't complain. The employees were cleaning up the whole time.

We placed an order, even though there was hardly anything going on, we had to wait an unusually long time. When we finally got the food, the order was incomplete so we had to stay even longer. Unfortunately, the staff didn't speak any of our languages, which made communication even more difficult. Overall, a very dissatisfied experience – definitely in need of improvement. ...we were also allowed to cover and clean the table.

Update: I was there again recently and was amazed at how well the reopening went. Food arrived quickly, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and modern technology. Everything a McDonalds must have

Something is always missing from the order! The order must be carefully checked every time. Unfortunately I didn't think of it today, a McChicken was missing. Hence the review, perhaps more attention will finally be paid to this and the employees will be better controlled.

The assistant manager is very talkative and talented on the phone.

On April 16th, 2025 our curly freis were not properly fried and cooked through. My burger meat was ice cold so the cheese didn't melt at all. It can't be that difficult to top burgers and serve everything out hot. I mean we're at McDonald's 😂 before the renovation it was much better here

The employees are very overwhelmed and rude. I ordered a takeaway menu and when I got home I noticed that the chicken nuggets were missing even though I paid for them.

Very unfriendly, only got half of the order when asked, the response was sloppy, I wouldn't recommend it, save your money

Popular for many years on the way to or from southern Germany.

We come mainly because of the electric charging station. The toilets are okay (the flush cover is broken). Food like everywhere else at mc. My chips weren't completely cooked. But I got new ones straight away without any problems. Exchanging the reusable cups was a small act. But the MC probably simply doesn't want to support it in principle.

Modernly furnished. Lots of order terminals. Very friendly staff. Table service was fairly quick, even though it was very busy.

The ice cream portion in this branch is simply a disgrace. Hardly any sauce on it - although that's exactly the reason why you order the ice cream in the first place. If you then complain, all you get is an annoyed “What should I do?” listen. Only when I said that I didn't want the ice cream anymore was I reluctantly given a little more sauce. Unfortunately this is not an isolated case, this has happened to me here several times. I'm always satisfied in other branches - but I definitely won't go here anymore.

Yes, Mc Coffee continues to offer cups instead of mugs in the restaurant.

A menu is often forgotten when driving, so always check it before you drive. In the restaurant itself, it depends on which team is on duty. Sometimes it's exemplary clean and fast, sometimes it's exactly the opposite. In the MC Cafe there is only one lady who can make the drinks correctly on the portafilter machine. Edit April 9th, 2025: After the renovation everything is even less friendly, the cafe is history, the shop can be avoided as quickly as possible but not to eat something there.

Big shout out to this McDonald’s team! Despite the high number of people, the food was surprisingly warm and fresh - something you don't experience everywhere. The cleanliness of the entire restaurant was particularly positive. The employees were very friendly, attentive and did a great job. The modern furnishings also ensure a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, a really successful visit – would be happy to do it again!

Great store even now after the renovation. Top team and great service. Even when I left my jacket hanging during my last visit, the store management sent it to me free of charge. Thank you again ❤️ and keep it up.

It's terrible how after a 1.FC Köln home game everything is devastated even so far away.

I can't judge the ambience, it was in McDrive. Otherwise I am very convinced. Fast processing, good food, good service This branch has truly earned the title of “fast food branch”.

Sorry to say, but that's the lowest of the low again... I don't know how anyone wants to run a business like that... probably just because of quantity. I live in town and go to this McDonald's often. And every other time, something's missing from my drive-thru order... like today, for example, my burger... €30 for a Big Tasty, a wrap, a salad, and some fries... and then the burger is missing... I can't understand it... and the "professionals" who work there look at you as if you'd asked them for a kidney when you complain... sorry, that's the last place... never again

The mces was completely rebuilt, modern and open, unfortunately I find the concept with the fixed benches at the tables very uncomfortable (at least for slightly fatter people!) Otherwise everything was fine. Very clean!

Cozy outdoor area right next to the highway Service is ok, price too...but portions are getting smaller and smaller, they definitely are. 30% shrunk, like in every branch at the moment... that's bad...

Toilets are unreasonable, even around 1am you can expect a clean toilet.

MC's usual self-imposed standards, which are also visibly implemented here in terms of cleanliness. Eat as usual, you can definitely plan a stop here.

Ich bin jetzt schon öfter durch den MC Drive gefahren und jedes Mal wurde etwas vergessen einzupacken. Gestern hatte ich einen Coupon mit Happy Meal und MC Menü Small. Beim Happy Meal war alles dabei , der Hamburger Royal TS wurde vergessen, genauso war bei der Bestellung das I Like IT loud Menü dabei, die angegebenen Ohropax wurden auch nicht mitgegeben. Da am Schalter solch ein Stress gemacht wurde mit "fahren sie mal vor" und hinter mir Autos standen und warteten haben ich flott über die Bestellung geschaut und im Endeffekt Zuhause angekommen, fehlte das MC Menü Small mit Pommes Und Hamburger Royal TS. Das war das letzte Mal, dass ich durch den MC Drive bin zumal wir wirklich selten zum MC's gehen und dann immer wieder fehlendes Essen bei den Preisen feststellen müssen!

Unfortunately there is no table service, although the table displays for this are on the shelf near where the coffee is served. There are also no table numbers to order to the table using the app. Overall, it's a shame because the atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is newly renovated.

Hello dear MC Donald team, On February 20th to January 21st (2:40!) I was overcome by a hunger attack on the A3... straight down to Mäckes... and placed another order... and I have to say... that such a friendly team served me... great!... really great... and that at the end of their working day! Not recommended, we were at Macces last night, the whole restaurant was overcrowded with tablets of food and cups that had been left lying around, all the seating options were full of rubbish and were not cleared away (lack of staff???) we had found a corner where there was no rubbish and ordered to eat here, had to wait a while and an employee brought our ordered food in a bag and apologized, there were no tablets left, incredibly shameful for McDonald, the toilets were peed on and no more paper There, we will avoid this McDonalds

Something is always missing. It's kind of a running gag. At least one product is missing from every order. Why are there no more napkins without asking?

After I tried a Big Mac again a few weeks ago after a good 20 years and was quite disappointed (much smaller than before and tasteless apart from the sauce), I now wanted to give the M a chance. The result was devastating: yes, lots of meat, but no real flavor. Lots of iceberg lettuce, little sauce, which is also the only flavor carrier in the M. The bun crumbled while eating and I had to wrap it in a napkin. For comparison, a double Whopper tastes much better, comes directly in paper and also has cucumber and tomato. That means McDonald's is finally out for me. But that's just my personal taste...

The funniest McDonalds visit I've ever had. The staff all look and act like they are very out of place but are all very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and fresh, but the nuggets were so fresh that our driver had to throw up in the McDonald's toilet because of the raw chicken. I now sit next to him in fear for the next 2 hours drive home because I also popped a 20 pack. Definitely worth a visit. Kind regards to the stoner gang in the kitchen.

Coffee spoons for espresso and cappuccino would have been great. Employees should also adapt their voice to the general volume. Ordering in a whisper was tiring.

Burgers etc. were freshly prepared. I think you can expect that too. BUT: I don't understand the conversion. Before that, the McDonalds had a cozy yet modern interior with a wide window front. Now the best way to describe the charm is something between a prison visiting room and a train station toilet. Absolutely terrible! The certainly six-figure renovation investment could have been a gift.

Everything was fine. Both the food and the service. BUT, the ventilation was very cold and I've had back pain ever since

Complete disaster. I have no idea how it can hold up

This branch now shines with a new look. Behind this is a team that doesn't speak German. Unfortunately neither does the shift leader or team leader. Every person deserves their chance, but at least the person in charge should do justice to their position and “lead” this team. This also includes knowledge of spoken and written German! Everything seems overwhelmed and unstructured and chaotic. The cash situation is confusing. I'm disappointed how little thought is given to the children here. There are 2 loveless boards hanging on the wall, nothing addresses the needs of the children. It's just business and for adults. Children seem unwelcome because they don't seem welcome here. The food, as always, lukewarm. Only after 6 attempts at explanation was a simple order carried out correctly. Unfortunately, children these days don't get to enjoy McDonald's like we experienced. The flair of a family fast food and not pseudo business flair. Unfortunately not worth another visit.

Before renovation one of the best McDonald's in the area - now one of the worst. We actually enjoyed going here before the renovation that took place in November. Have been here twice since the renovation. In our opinion, the new concrete look is horrible, it looks very cool and uninviting. Unfortunately the food was very bad both times. For the first time - and I've been eating here regularly for 10 years - the nuggets were fried again, i.e. warmed up. The Curlys were already cold at the table. The rosti barely had any sauce. We were used to it differently - a shame.

The renovation was a total failure. The ambience was much better before.

It's a shame that it was remodeled, it's very uncomfortable there now! You can no longer let children play outside alone on the device because the old outdoor area is open and the kids could run directly in front of the car. Now everything seems cold and impersonal...

No soap in the toilets. Otherwise everything is good.

We bought 2 McPlant and both had meat, even though it said McPlant on the packaging.

Unfortunately, it often happens that not everything that you ordered and paid for is in the bag. Today we were once again missing a big Mac and a chicken burger, but that has to work

The store is a joke. The first time we were there, almost half of them were sold out. On the second visit we decided to avoid the place, I wouldn't even go to the toilet here! 10 employees, none of them really work. People with long loose hair without hair nets, dirty or disgusting toilets and the best thing was the cheeseburger without meat. Just two slices of bread with ketchup. We waited over 10 minutes for this. The customer in front of us had ordered a bottle of water and the employee, out of boredom, slid it from left to right across the counter for 3 minutes. I think his water is still now.

So before the renovation, the tables and floors were clean and the stay was much more pleasant. I'm out, I'm taking my money to the competition now

Two customers in front of us “forgot” the gift at the happy meal. We then “forgot” the squeezes.

The ambience suffered badly after the renovation. It exudes the charm of a maximum security prison. In the USA. The service is incredibly friendly but there are often missing or incorrect products in the bag, which is really annoying. A nugget you ordered turns out to be a chili nugget in a child's mouth.....not great at all.....The products are also simply never ready for delivery. All in all, unfortunately not recommended.

Freshly renovated, but not nice. I don't like the concrete look in a restaurant. There is no indication at the counter where you can order or pick up. The dish return is so hidden that it will hardly serve its purpose. Who planned this??? But the staff were very friendly and the food was freshly prepared

Today our collective order included three BicMacs with just one patty and a yawning emptiness between the other slices of bread, as well as an innovative McChickenChiliCheese instead of a DoubleChiliCheese....

Looks great after the renovation. Unfortunately there are unusually long waiting times at McDrive. Queue stretches far out onto the street. Something urgently needs to change.

On Saturday morning it was still cold and unpleasant in the restaurant. The touchscreens worked very slowly and required a lot of patience. The service was friendly and quick. The breakfast was okay.

This place used to be great (before the renovation). But now: 25minutes waiting for a burger? 🍔....

1st visit after the reopening/renovation.....and - completely disappointed!!! I would like my “old” Mäkkes back please!!! Now, after renovation, you feel like you're in a train station hall. Yes, of course, it's a fast food restaurant, the operator certainly doesn't want you to linger there. But it doesn't have to be sooooo uncomfortable, loud, narrow, impersonal, uncomfortable!!! I found it so unpleasant that I would rather drive 16 km to another branch soon than stop at the one within walking distance again! Very unfortunate...

Every time I got the wrong products or things were missing. Waited 20 minutes for takeaway food. No place to sit while waiting. Unfriendly and incompetent staff. The staff should also be able to speak German.

What kind of fancy shop is this?! It's very quiet in there, there's no smell of food anymore, it's totally cozy and super musty. Personally, I could never have imagined what you could get out of a building like that.

Incredibly bad! And it doesn't matter at all whether I'm talking about the cleanliness or hygiene in the interior, the situation in the drive, the toilets, the staffing of the cash registers, or the café, or the burgers! Most of the burgers are clearly left under warm control for a long time, under the eyes of the employees. Result: sticky, unappetizing goods that should have been thrown away. Advice and criticism from us were rejected by management as "unjustified", but we were given all the dishes we complained about replaced with freshly produced products. However, the employees are unable to produce the standard meals in sufficient quantities during peak times. Result: Waiting times of 20+ minutes in a fast food joint and traffic jams all the way to the roundabout! Nobody was unfriendly, but all the employees were always rotating around hectically and obviously stressed, which suggests that they were understaffed. In our view, there is a lack of coordination and control by management regarding the quality of goods & service delivery... Employees and, last but not least, customers have to endure this!!! And the best thing: burgers, drinks, ice cream, etc. are always SOLD OUT!!1! So much so that these offers have already been removed from the notice boards.

Apparently open! We walked around the Mcs twice, nothing was open!!!

Restaurant closed, only McDrive. Went to charge the car and (like many electric car drivers before us) wanted to quickly get something to eat at the counter. Pre-ordered via app so that the employee doesn't have so much work. Everyone was served before us, except us. Nice. ☺️ Employee of the Month! ☺️

McDonald's right on the highway. You can quickly move on again. It's just like any other Megges.

This MC is located directly on the A3, is easy to reach and you can quickly get back on the motorway. Otherwise, McDonald's as you know it.

Just McDonald. What's annoying is that a self-service panel, the first one right at the entrance, works extremely slowly.

Best McDonald's, ultra fast and hot service, even when waiting in a busy drive-thru line. The nugget's are even better than in France, our menus were so delicious... top 1 remained as you are

Actually one of my absolute favorite McDonald's. Friendly, clean, always a smile even when stressed. This morning, however, I was insulted in an extremely unfriendly manner by the boss. I was able to order something from the breakfast menu in my app. At the output window I was told that it no longer works because breakfast time is over. Anyone who uses the app a lot knows that you can no longer actually put these products in your shopping cart. The friendly lady at the serving window tried to find a solution with me. After all, my app would have had other valid coupons for discounted coffee. But twice the unfriendly woman who was your boss intervened and in an impossible tone. So I ended up driving on without buying anything. Impossible, I've been there over 100 times and I've never been yelled at so rudely. I hope that the personnel will be reconsidered.

It's always nice to eat here. Personally, I haven't had a single bad experience eating here. The service, however, is distancing itself more and more from the German language. Even if the communication between customer and employee in every Mcs remains the typical “That makes xy€”, there is a lack of German language when you try to order at the checkout. Since everyone doesn't order at the checkout anymore, it's not that big of a problem, but if it is, then it's just stupid.

So the food here is great but these signs for ordering are really bad, you have to wait for ages before you can press them and they just get stuck and you can't press anything anymore and all the buttons don't work when you press them so you really have to press them several times and otherwise you can't press it with force... it doesn't even deserve a star

Food generally fine, what you can expect from McDonalds. Too bad it was served almost cold. The ice cream I ordered was one of the saddest things I've ever had. This tourist really won't come here for treatment again.

Disastrous service, I waited over 20 minutes for 2 cheeseburgers even though there were no other guests there. The drink came without ice ordered. Anyone who has the opportunity should give it a wide berth.

It's easy to argue about McDonald's and Co. Especially McDonald's, whose product presentation always looks very good in advertising, but when you order on site, you're surprised at what you get. Take the McDonald's in 51545 Waldbröl as an extremely bad example. But in this McDonald's the preparation is right and so is the mostly fresh lettuce and cucumbers. I ordered the McDonald's M on September 5th, 2024. I was surprised, the taste was right and, for me, the added fried onions, which rounded off the taste, were surprising. You won't find it in the aforementioned McDonald's in Waldbröl, including soggy lettuce and old cucumbers. Summary: If I'm in the Königswinterer McDonald's area again, I'll be happy to come back.

Good stopover next to the highway

Everything OK. The tables very clean. Several order machines. Service was quick. Lots of free parking spaces right in front of the house. Even after a year - when I visited this location again - everything was fine. Highly recommended.

How can it be that a branch employee shouts at customers just because he doesn't understand German?? Just because you want to ask what is contained in the product (donut) because allergy sufferers are not allowed to eat everything?? Absolutely no go

So we used the drive in to order food. Unfortunately, I have to say the person who served us couldn't really communicate with us and misunderstood us a few times. He had to ask several times and almost made an order twice. At least the food was good and you got the food pretty quickly.

Overall, a good restaurant by McDonald's standards. The food was served quickly and tasted fresh. In short, it hasn't been kept warm for long. Unfortunately, the employee at McDrive didn't really speak German, which made the ordering process considerably complex. After just under 5 minutes I managed to order a menu using a voucher, 20 nuggets and an additional drink. There is a star deduction for this. Please train your employees so that they know a double pack menu via vouchers. I really don't expect much, but you should be able to recognize your own products despite the language barrier.

Good McDonald. Fries excellent and the cappuccino very good and tasty. Recommended!

The first picture shows my portion, the second is as it should be. Still far away from the pictures of the product image from MC. Been there twice now The ice cream portions are far too small and do not correspond to the portion sizes stated in the MC. I complained about the first one and got a new portion. I saved it the second time. Coincidence or system?

The conditions were quite nice, unfortunately too many customers with dogs come to sniff you because the owner doesn't hold them, and the staff unfortunately looks away

It was great, it was busy, but it went quickly. Go ahead and order, pay and receive the goods. If everything wasn't ready yet, you pull into the parking lot and the staff will bring it to your car.

Directly on the A3, ideal for a stopover on the way to the holiday destination.

The food doesn't taste good and is totally overpriced and the drinks have more ice cubes than drinks

It is unfortunate that the staff at this store is unable to keep the tables and other areas clean. When I asked if the tables could be cleaned, I received an unfriendly response that there was no time for it. This does not give the feeling of being a welcome guest. Therefore I will not visit this store again. I recommend others to go somewhere else.
