McDonald's in Gilching

We waited over 10 minutes for the food, and then it wasn't right either. We specifically ordered it without pickle slices, which was stated on the package and the order confirmation, but the burger still had pickle slices on it. The tables and restrooms weren't clean.

I ordered my food in the car in the parking lot. When it arrived, the bag was handed to me through the window. The Coke cup, however, was already leaking at the bottom, and the employee was already carrying it with two fingers, obviously knowing it would leak. Nevertheless, it was shoved into my car, splashing both me and my vehicle with Coke. When I complained directly to the employee about the situation, he just shrugged and left without helping me. There weren't even any napkins in the bag to at least temporarily clean up the mess.

No information on when the branch will reopen.

On the evening of October 3rd, I ordered various burgers, lattice potatoes, and chicken nuggets in Gilching. It took forever to prepare. The burgers had minimal to no toppings. Half of the lattice potatoes were fries. The ambiance, after the renovation, resembles a cafeteria. Lots of gray, simple chairs and tables. A significant deterioration compared to before.

The new renovation should perhaps be planned a bit better to ensure everything runs smoothly. The paper bags are absolutely rubbish. They tear easily.

Coffee really good, served in a cup.

Waiting time >30 minutes at 8:00 PM on a Thursday, unfriendly staff, and rather dirty tables. There's something wrong with the logistics here.

On September 11, 2025, at 8:45 a.m., I ordered a Fresh Chicken and a Bacon & Egg McMuffin for breakfast at the McDonald's branch at Landsberger Straße 90, 82205 Gilching. Due to ongoing renovations, coffee was unavailable and card payments were unavailable, and I didn't receive a receipt. Both McMuffins I ordered had obviously been left on the hot counter for far too long; the bottoms were completely dry. To make matters worse, one of the buns even showed signs of mold. This is absolutely unacceptable and in no way meets the standards one would expect from McDonald's. Under such circumstances, a branch would be better off remaining closed during construction than serving customers such poor and unhygienic food.

Bad service, good food, but not enough

McDonald's employees were super unfriendly. They are currently rebuilding so you can only order at the drive-thru. It's just poorly organized.

I swear, they hire people who are completely incompetent at this store. I ordered a McChicken and thought it was available at this location. The employee told me in a raised voice and with poor German, "You know, we don't have that." I wondered, how was I supposed to know? At the checkout, they told me, "Yeah, maybe something else?" 😂 It was truly ridiculous, and I swear, the person in charge even shouted. I don't know why.

Not enough shadow in the outside sitting area. A lot of noise from the road. Cleaning inside can be improved.

Waited almost 10 minutes! FAST is something else! Besides, the restaurant is under construction.

A classic McDonald's with seriously dirty restrooms. The pungent smell of old urine is very unpleasant, so it really takes away your appetite.

There's no air conditioning there. Avoid at all costs!

The service was excellent, and what I like about the ambiance is that you can sit outside. Otherwise, all McDonald's are the same. The burgers we had, however, tasted like they were ancient. Update: The food has been tasty again for a while, but today they forgot the ketchup and barbecue sauce in my takeout.

The food is cold and disgusting! The sauce is on the burger instead of in the burger. The coffee tastes like water. The tables are sticky. A disgrace for McDonald's.

Ordered takeout today at the counter and immediately ate it in the car: Filet o' Fish, Cheeseburger, McDonald's Bacon BBQ, curly fries. Conclusion: Curly fries completely cold and not fresh, Filet o' Fish smaller than ever, Iced Latte just ice and coffee, no milk. Unfortunately, never been "served" such poor quality.

There's nothing to say about this. You can read and hear everywhere how unhealthy ultra-processed food is, but I think that once a year, it won't do us much harm.

All the tables were dirty and uncleaned. The floor was absolutely sticky. No Diet Coke, Zero, or Fanta available, and the fries were soggy and cold. The best part: I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. While drinking it, I thought I didn't like oat milk, but I asked, and it was oat milk. The drive home took an hour longer because I had to spend an hour with cramps and diarrhea at one of the rest stops along the way. I'm lactose intolerant, which is why I ordered oat milk. Please avoid that place!

Unfortunately, this is also a branch where you now have to double-check whether everything you ordered was actually packed. Once again, a burger was missing, which I unfortunately only noticed at home.

I never thought I'd write a review for McDonald's, as I don't really have huge expectations there. But how they manage to make the order either completely wrong or incomplete every time is really surprising. If you order a wrap, you can expect it to come with the wrong sauce, or you'll just get the wrong one entirely. Not to mention, you have to drive up and wait every time, even if you order a single cheeseburger. The staff also sometimes seem rather incompetent and always have trouble taking your order correctly.

When McDonald's drops off bags of empty bottles at the liquor store next door, all the other customers wait for almost an hour. That's kind of service, too...

As a driver I often visit MC Donald all over Germany, but this was the worst I have ever visited. Fries dry as if they were baked yesterday, no salt. Never again. I do not recommend walking another 10 km than eating here 🤮

Things are getting worse and worse at this chain. The fries are soft/mushy, and there's no salt. Today, with the heat, there's no chocolate shake, my goodness.

Things are getting steadily worse. People are unmotivated, unfriendly, the hamburgers often look like someone has been testing how far they can hit the bag from... The highlight is the McDrive. If you order more for more people, you can almost guarantee something is missing; asking will likely result in unfriendly answers. Especially in the evenings, it's simply a disaster. But the place seems to be doing well; you can report/complain wherever you want, but you can wait a long time for a response, and you won't get anything. I've tried it two or three times, but these days I simply avoid the branch and unfortunately drive a little further away if necessary.

Well, just try the BIC Tasty Bacon, forgetting the bacon is a disgrace

Ate double cheeseburger and fries there. Severe diarrhea and abdominal pain followed shortly afterwards. So it's really bad

I thought our Mc Donalds in Kempten was bad but this is an impudence never again

The restaurant is well barrier-free, but the doors (two doors behind each other) are so that you can actually get in. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of another guest. I couldn't have done it alone without my husband. Then there is the disabled toilet!!! Some normal toilets that I have already visited are larger. I barely fit in with my wheelchair, not even thinking about turning around to lock the door. My husband closed the door from the outside and stood awake. I didn't even dare go to the toilet bowl because the floor was so greasy that I slipped when I got up. Ugh devil!!!!!

Special thanks for helping with a flat tire and understanding while waiting for the tow service! Thanks also for the delicious breakfast!

Unfortunately very bad food quality

On my trip, I stopped and specifically requested no salad twice when ordering because I have an allergy, but apparently they made it with extra salad, as if the employee had done the exact opposite. And the food was like it had been thrown from an airplane. Never again, not recommended.

Since I live in the area, I often drive by McDonald's. Service lacks knowledge of German and has to repeat several times to ensure that you are understood. Food is not always fresh, and be sure to check the bags. A sauce is often forgotten or the fries are not really full. (At the price of fries)

I bought a Mc crispy menu for €10.49 and I didn't get anything other than a Mc crispy even though you were supposed to get chips and a drink. I wouldn't recommend this branch in Gilching, just very bad service, very unsympathetic employees, very forgetful employees and so on

One of the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I gave it 3 stars for the ambience. It's just a normal McDonald's. Still, I'm only giving it one star because everything else is subpar. This is the second time I've had a McRib without any sauce. How can this happen? The sauce doesn't go on a McRib, the patties are placed in it. When I complained, the McRib was just replaced. No small additional compensation. I have no idea why McDonald's keeps this branch running under their management.

By far the worst McDonald's I know. Order not complete for the second time. Service underground. Hardly any knowledge of German. I have no problem with foreigners at all, Nevertheless, I expect a basic knowledge of the German language in the service. This branch thrives on its convenient location right on the highway. Not recommended, which is also reflected in the other reviews.

The only thing I eat here is salad. Imagine my surprise when I realized that they suddenly reduced the portion. Now you get almost twice as much salad, and the price remains the same.

Always my pleasure! I regularly go to McDonald's in Gilching and am thrilled every time! The service is super friendly and fast, no matter how busy it is. The branch is always clean and well maintained, which guarantees a pleasant stay. The food is as you would expect from McDonald's: tasty and fresh. The fries in particular are always perfectly crispy, There are sufficient parking spaces available. All in all, a reliable place for a quick meal or a coffee in between.

The tour manager is not polite, he shouted at the employees when the shop was full of customers.

McDonald’s offers consistent quality, fast service and a convenient location. The burgers are delicious, especially when they are freshly made. The fries are always nice and crispy. Service is quick, but sometimes there are long lines. The interior is standard and functional. The prices are fair, especially with vouchers. One negative point is that the cleanliness in the restaurant could sometimes be better. Overall a good place for a quick snack. 4/5.

In the drive through you really have to check everything. Unfortunately, something is always forgotten. There was one employee for whom this did not happen. It was gone pretty quickly.

In the morning at 10:00 a.m. hot drinks are only available in reusable cups, and table service stands have been deliberately removed. When returning the reusable cup, neither “good morning”, “please” or “thank you”… I don’t understand how such people can be employed in such an area with customer contact.

Extremely friendly staff. We accidentally knocked over our drink and were given a replacement without asking. The child wanted to exchange a toy for another, and that wasn't a problem either. The drinks were forgotten at the Hapoy Meal, and here too we were immediately accommodated. And that at Christmas :)

Unfortunately it has deteriorated a lot, whether it's the quality of the food or everything around it. The burgers 🍔 in the box don't have a whole slice of processed cheese underneath, just a quarter of a strip that is cut so that you get the impression it's a whole slice. I ordered 3 cheeseburgers. 2 normal ones and 1 without cucumbers. When I bit into my burger, which was supposed to be made without cucumber, it was with cucumber. Disgusting. Since I can't stand cucumbers at all, this is scandalous. Also, my cheeseburger, which should have been without pickles, had no cheese. The order clearly stated that I ordered my cheeseburger without pickle and not without cheese. When I looked at the label on my burger, to my surprise, it said no cheese. Why would I order a cheeseburger without cheese. Besides, I paid for the cheeseburger and not for a hamburger. Here you can see repeatedly that the employees don't like to respond to EXTRA REQUESTS. That shouldn't be the case. Too bad!

We were really looking forward to McDonalds again today. Bon with my son to the mc drive. I ordered 3 maxi menus. With the first one it worked, with the second one Mc chicken said she didn't exist, with the third one she didn't react at all. I asked her about it at the counter. She waved and said drive up. Everything in broken German, of course. Oberhammer my Mc Rib fart was dry... once again super disappointed with the store.

The food should actually taste the same at every branch, but here it was just bad. The fries weren't salted and tasted like cardboard. Three different burgers were just way too dry. At least the cola was poured correctly. The service was very satisfactory
