Maxim - Restaurant in Mainz

We were there for breakfast today with 13 people. I had reserved the table long beforehand. When I arrived the place was empty except for 4-5 people. A large table was not prepared for us. The waitress had little ambition to put a table out of the individual tables for us, but in the end she did. Another waitress then came who served us in a friendly manner, but didn't ask if we wanted something to drink for the last 1.5 hours. The breakfast itself was appropriate for the price and the portions were sufficient. What really bothered us was the pungent smell of incense sticks/automatic room fragrance spray (whatever). It was so extreme that we actually considered changing restaurants because of it. There was no toilet paper anywhere in the women's room. When asked, there was a single roll (4 toilets). The atmosphere in the restaurant itself is very nice, but some of the toilets are pretty run down, which could be improved with little financial effort (e.g. broken push plate, glue residue on the shelves, etc.)

Food was horrible. Out of 6 people, 3 had diarrhea afterwards. Service also a disaster. Can't recommend

We didn't get the pizzas we ordered and they weren't baked properly. The dough was still raw and stuck to the pizza box. The pizzas were so bad that we ordered pizza again from another store to deal with this trauma.

A nice restaurant/bar with an outdoor terrace. Food was delicious and service was nice too :)

So the service (young gentleman) was great, I can't say anything about it and the ambience is relatively good. We had a burger and a steak. The steak was ordered medium and came out almost English then I let the steak go back the second time it wasn't really any better. The third time the steak was done (which wasn't what I wanted) but the meat wasn't really good either and was totally toe. Afterwards I found out that the cook wasn't there at all and the boss's wife was in the kitchen. I don't know what to say about that

The boss is rude and easily irritated. The waitress raises her hand to people if she doesn't like something.

Despite booking online, there was no room for us! Staff is rude and shouts as soon as there is a minimal problem!

We rented an apartment above the restaurant, which is really great, so it won't be included in the review. When checking in I asked how watching football was going to be this evening. Answer: We always have space for hotel guests. Asked for a place at 7:30 p.m. and we were sent away. Then by chance I saw that a 4-series was available. There, waitress only asks 2, answer yes. Then it became totally unfriendly, we were supposed to sit at the side and I was even written to by her. Still sat down well. But we weren't allowed to order drinks and were completely ignored by her and her colleagues. After 45 minutes we had a drink. Now watch football in our very nice apartment

I rarely write reviews but I have to; I have nothing against the restaurant “Maxim” and I don’t want to complain about anything. However, the rating is due to the waitress (slim, blonde woman). We had no choice but to cancel the order and leave the place while she was forced to take the order. The waitress showed no interest in her job and seemed incapable of interacting appropriately with the guests. If someone clearly does not enjoy their work and is unable to satisfy customers, it would be wise to look for a career alternative that requires less direct customer contact. This lack of professionalism has meant that I will never visit the store again, even though I have been there frequently in the past.

Unfortunately the ambience is very superficial and has no real character. This feeling is underlined by the half-hearted service we experienced as a group of 11 people. The mood that day was cheerful and happy, but the visit to Maxim silenced our lively conversations. The order was taken quite rudely from the end of the table and you had to call out to the other end in the hope of getting something. The glasses could be passed around and you could also pour the wine yourself. Questions about the wine list were taken personally and not answered very nicely.

Very bad owner!!!! If you complain about something because you can't do it, you will be treated unkindly by the owner. Despite the fact that the owner's daughter wanted to save everything, the shop cannot be recommended.

We drove from Frankfurt to Mainz to Maxim but unfortunately we were very disappointed. When we ordered an Ipanema, only water with syrup without brown sugar without mint came. When we complained about it, a nice lady came who wanted to help us and corrected the cocktail and brought us a real Ipanema. Suddenly the waiter came up again and said that the boss wouldn't accept it and that he would have to pay an extra charge for the gingerale that came with it as a complete drink. After we tried to talk to the manager, the gentleman refused and walked past us and said no time and raised his hand and we decided to leave this bar/restaurant immediately. The waiter and the lady were very nice and wanted to help us but the manager didn't do anything. Never again, very disappointing.

Just disappointing, even though we loved going there for years!! We were a group of 10 girls and wanted to celebrate a birthday, since it was spontaneous we went and had to pay 0.50 cents per plate for the service and then 2 euros, which was okay for us. After we ordered our cocktails, which we always enjoyed drinking in MAXIM, we just got water, a slice of lime and Sprite, it was supposed to be an Ipanema. We immediately complained and everyone wanted to drink a Red Bull. After the complaint, a very nice lady came and brought us another Ipanema, which was also very tasty and we all decided to drink it. 2 minutes later the owner sends someone up and simply wants more money per glass because there is a shot of ginger ale in it, which was no longer acceptable for us. When we wanted to speak to the owner, he passed us Walked, put your hand up and said no time. You should be able to deal with complaints and criticism. We all work and know how to deal with people, the lady and the man who served us were very good but the owner just took it to the point where we had to leave.

The store is a complete disaster The BOSS is simply incapable of criticism and UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Instead of answering the recession so cheekily, I should take care of the store, which is unfortunately going down the drain. I really feel sorry for the employees!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I was there a few days ago and S. (a relatively slim lady with long black hair) served me. I asked for a menu. And she was visibly annoyed by the situation because I asked for it because I was still undecided about what to drink. She came back and I ordered a Sprite and she immediately said loudly: “I ALREADY UNDERSTAND YOU!” because I repeated it in a friendly way (since I wasn’t sure whether she understood it acoustically). I asked her to leave out the ice from my friend's water because she gets sick quickly. The waitress was very annoyed again and said: “THEY ARE NOT COLD ANYWAY!” I then said: okay, because she really can’t drink it cold When she came back there was water with ice cubes in it. I kindly said that she doesn't drink water with ice. She then somehow justified herself. I can't expect this service from anyone. We wanted something relaxing to drink and this is what we ended up with. Really very disappointing, especially she sat there with Airpods in her ears and cell phone in her hand. I don't know if you want to employ someone like that.

Das Personal ist freundlich jedoch sind die Besitzer wohl nicht empfänglich für Verbesserungen Die Teller sind kalt so das die Speisen schnell abkühlen und somit das Gericht darunter leidet. Der Koch trifft nicht die Garrstufen vom Fleisch weder beim Steak noch bei den Filets was sehr schade ist. Aber vielleicht schafft er es ja in der Zukunft Wenn man es anspricht wird einem zwar zugestimmt jedoch nicht geändert leider

We stopped here by chance and got great burgers at completely reasonable prices 👍🏻 The young waitress was also nice and we have nothing to complain about. If I lived nearby I would come more often 😊 I can't understand the bad reviews about the food.

Ordered from Lieferando. Fries from cardboard boxes, super limp. Burgers are an absolute disgrace. Never eaten such a disgusting one. Beef patty hard as a shoe sole. Buns also super chewy. Half thrown away. And for over 15 euros… Never again!

After the owner's nice response to my review without comment, I now have to explain what happened here in the restaurant yesterday: We came to this restaurant yesterday (Shrove Monday) after the procession had ended and were pleased that it was pretty empty for Shrove Monday (in... Ground floor maybe 50% of the places occupied). We were warmly welcomed and seated on the first floor. We were the only(!) guests here, which alone shows how ridiculous the accusation that we harassed other guests is. None of our group was (excessively) drunk, some had not drunk anything or had their first alcoholic drink here in the restaurant. Some of our group ordered food. After about 45 minutes of waiting, everyone received their food. Except for one meal that was missing. Even after repeated requests from the waitress, this was not met, so we canceled the last meal (after everyone else had long since finished eating). Here the waitress has already attracted negative attention with cheeky answers (“Did I talk to you or what?” when one of the group answers a question that was actually intended for the person who was still waiting for their food). Meanwhile, several drink orders were either delivered incorrectly or not at all. This can all happen, no question. But what really shocked me was what happened while paying and after the visit. When it came to paying, the person who didn't receive their food asked if there was any accommodation for the lack of food after waiting 1.5 hours. The answer? "Why that? You canceled your meal but I wanted to bring it to you. That can happen with a complicated meal (a cheeseburger).” Then the condition offered to settle the matter with the owner. We said yes. She then says that the owner doesn't have any time right now because he's "in the office because there's stress with another customer." But since it's a family business, she can tell us that he won't accommodate us either. Besides, it's not her fault (which is true and we also told her) and whether we knew how unpleasant the situation was for HER. Not a single apology from the restaurant at any point. Everyone then paid (card payment at the table was not available at the moment because the reception was poor) and left. As I said, errors in service can happen. But the way dissatisfied guests are treated here is really crazy. You can see this now in retrospect, based on the reaction to a bad review. Instead of asking what went wrong, attempts are made to discredit the guest with (obviously) made-up allegations. I have never (!) experienced such behavior. And I worked in the catering industry myself for 10 years. A pity. Nice restaurant in a good location. But here (especially in retrospect) the opportunity to win new (local) customers was missed. Nonetheless, I wish the team all the best and much success. *********************** Insight is the first path to improvement, which is probably why nothing will improve here. As you can see from many other examples, every negative review is labeled as false/unjustified/unobjective and paying customers are attacked on a personal level. Really pathetic behavior for a manager/owner. You should also pay more attention to names in reviews, then you would notice whether it is the same or a different review. And I will be happy to comply with the request not to come back, I hope many will do the same when they see how criticism/customers are dealt with here.

Was eating at Maxim for the first time. The service staff were courteous and very relaxed when talking, I can understand if it is unusual for some people but I can't say much more about it after visiting. The space was very open and well furnished. Unfortunately our table had not been wiped properly. As someone who has worked in three restaurant kitchens, I was very disappointed with the food. The plates were not preheated and the food got cold very quickly. The processing quality of the schnitzel was poor, all the ingredients were very weakly seasoned or not seasoned at all and were kept warm for longer. The food was ready very quickly and I can only explain this by the fact that it was not freshly prepared but was kept warm. I would like to see chefs who can season more at the start and that dishes are freshly prepared. I understand that it is more expensive to have experienced chefs there and fresh preparation is also associated with stress, but you can already see the consequences of such savings since the Maxim was almost empty if other restaurants nearby were full. I'm sure you'll be able to do better in the future, not every day goes well and I wish the young team all the best for the future.

I was there for breakfast yesterday. I really enjoyed the farmer's breakfast, the price-performance ratio was right and the service was super friendly. I can only recommend the Maxim

We stopped at Maxim's during our visit to Mainz. We decided to take the daily special which included a claasic hamburger, fries and a drink. The price sounded reasonable. I expected a simple hamburger fries and a small drink. What we received was a very well made large hamburger with all the toppings and french fries with a special coated seasoning and a 0.33l drink of our choice. A very tasty meal. We had a very nice and helpful waitress which made our luncheon experience to a very satisfying one. Thank you Maxim,s for making our visit to Mainz just that much better.

Ich habe meinen Frieden mit dem Maxim geschlossen und vergebe inzwischen alle 5 Sterne, da mich mein letzter Besuch vor Ort überzeugen konnte. Endlich mal ein Restaurant, in welchem es während der gesamten Öffnungszeit Frühstück gibt 👍🏽 Morgens bekomme ich kaum was runter, will aber auf die typischen Frühstücks-Produkte nicht verzichten. Hier kann man z.B. auch nachmittags oder nachts (früh)stücken 😋 Die blonde Bedienung war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und ist auch auf diverse Sonderwünsche eingegangen. Bald soll es eine neue Speisekarte geben: Hier bitte nicht die Chance verpassen und auch vegetarische Burger anbieten 🍔 Außerdem die Frühstücksoptionen bei Lieferando bestellbar machen 👍🏽

Zu Gast war ich am Montag, 14.08.2023 mittags. Die Küche verdient eindeutig 5 Sterne. Die Bedienung, die junge Frau mit den langen schwarzen Haaren, ist jedoch eine Katastrophe und gehört schnellstmöglichst gekündigt oder in einen Bereich versetzt, in dem keinerlei Gäste sind: Die Suppe und das Schnitzel wurden gleichzeitig serviert. Nach 5 Minuten hatte ich trotz mehrmaliger Aufforderung immer noch keinen Löffel, keine Gabel und kein Messer und sollte mir das alles selber aus dem Schrank holen, was ich dann auch getan habe. Auch Salz musste ich mir selber von einem leeren Tisch holen. Diese Bedienung war stets unfreundlich. Auch die Bitte, mehr Pommes Frites zu servieren, hat sie abgelehnt (bei einem Kollegen hat es früher geklappt). Als ich den Kassenzettel haben wollte, ließ sie mich mehrere Minuten warten und hat stattdessen einen Kollegen beschimpft. Kein Wunder, dass dieses Restaurant bei dieser Bedienung fast komplett leer war und ich werde das nächste Mal auch woanders essen gehen, wenn ich diese unfreundliche Bedienung dort wieder sehe!

Der Chef hat uns auf eine sehr nette Art dazu gebracht zu bleiben was auch wirklich gut war. Fühlten uns sehr wohl. Kommen gerne wieder. Kleines Manko die Toiletten können etwas mehr Beachtung bekommen 😊

Die Schnitzeln kamen kalt und das Bier Warm. Also das Personal bringt dich mit einem netten Kompliment dazu nicht zu sagen. Mir ging's zu mindest so. Aber bewerten tue ich immer. Halb Stunde später musste sich meine Tochter ergeben. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Für jeden der gerne einmal aus dieser schnellen Welt entfielen will ist die Lounge im Hinterhof der perfekte Ort. On top ist der Service eins A, zuvorkommend , mitdenkend, freundlich und auf zwischenmenschlicher Ebene klasse. Danke werde wieder kommen und es jedem empfehlen.

Bei den Kommentaren habe ich mit Schlechteren gerechnet. Das Essen war ok. Die Kommentare des Besitzers auf die negativen Bewertungen sind aber Comedy Gold 😆

Bier hat geschmeckt. Schnitzel war lecker. Burger und Bratkartoffeln bodenlos.

Ich bin gerade mit meiner Frau in Mainz und sind im Maxim. Das Essen ist super und die Bedienung sehr freundlich, man kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen

Hallo also das schnitzel von meiner Freundin war der Hammer war schön knusprig,aber die Champignon Sauce hat sehr nach Sahne nur geschmeckt. Ich hatte einen Steakburger für 14,90 ohne Beilage hab dort ein flache Scheibe Steak bekommen ca 0.5 cm, ich traute meinen Augen nicht wie wenig das war und dazu war der Burger bun irgendein billiges Burger Brot was man im Laden kaufen kann. 14,90 dafür war eine Frechheit wirklich !! Kann ich bei diesem Produkt nicht empfehlen.

Heute spontan hier essen gewesen. Super lecker hab selten so gut gegessen. Wir kommen wieder. Auf jeden Fall.

das Schnitzel war gut, der Salat war frisch, und ich war sat und zufrieden.

Wir, mein Freund und ein befreundetes Pärchen und ich, waren am Samstag Abend dort. Uns hat es dort gut gefallen. Die Getränke- und Speisekarte war übersichtlich. Wir haben jeweils 2 Coktails getrunken, die uns geschmeckt haben. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und nicht aufdringlich. Sie kamen und fragten ob alles in Ordnung ist. Wir kommen wieder.

Fomos 3 vezes para almoçar, e em todas fomos muito bem atendidos, e a comida também é muito boa.

Preiswerte aber extrem gute Schnitzel. Besonders gut ist das Paprikaschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln 🤙

Sehr höfliche Mitarbeiter. Essen war gut. Konnten uns ganz entspannt auf die Terrasse hinten setzen und hatten unsere Ruhe. Da kann man halt bisschen dem Trubel vom Neubrunnenplatz entkommen. Ich hoffe die Shisha Lounge oben macht bald wieder auf.

Very friendly service from Abdul, we don’t speak German and he was very accommodating to us! The atmosphere was lovely, this is a fantastic place for lunch and the tequila sunrise was delicious. The food was fantastic, can’t recommend enough. Thank you!

Preisleistungsverhältniss super, lecker schnell frisch freundliche Bedingung. Saubere Toiletten. Aufenthalt im Apartment sehr angenehm. Zentral in der Stadt gelegen. Für Gäste die nicht selbst kochen wollen, frühstücken auf der Sonnen Terrasse lohnt sich ;)
