I ordered the breakfast burger and it was super tasty and filling. Service was nice and the restaurant is well located. The only negative point: the price for breakfast seemed a bit too high for Germany (I come from Luxembourg and am used to such prices there)

We had breakfast, there are also great vegan breakfast options. The coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice were very good, and all the waitresses were incredibly polite and attentive. I only gave it three stars for the ambience because you don't have a view of the beautiful old buildings outside, but there are nice flower pots and you have sun.

We had dinner in a small group. The service was very attentive and friendly. Even though someone was there a little later, we were able to eat together. The price-performance ratio was completely appropriate. All the dishes were very pleasantly presented and as far as I can tell, everyone enjoyed it. There is a point deduction for the atmosphere. I still know Café Max from Neustadt. It was always very comfortable there. The old town counterpart unfortunately has an indoor atmosphere. It seems very busy here. Nevertheless, I would come again.

The service is confused, they ignore the customers, even if they bring you the wrong order, they won't even change it for you... the mess on the tables, the dishes that haven't been taken away and the breakfast for 14 euros doesn't match it at all.

Yes, great, we've never been here before, but we'll definitely be back soon. You can eat well here in peace but in the middle of the city. It wasn't full either. Food was delicious and the service was very pleasant.

Super tasty despite somewhat urban prices. The Argentinian beef steak and the vegetarian dishes are also recommended... Very special in summer and wonderful to sit outside. The waiters are also easy-going, friendly and funny. We will definitely come back...

Pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. The bruschetta, burger and drinks I had were just perfect. I didn‘t have such a nice burger bun and patty combination for quite some time. The service and atmosphere were okay as you would expect.

Despite the long queue, it was our turn very quickly. The order went smoothly and quickly. The price of the food was relatively reasonable, the only thing I could complain about is that there were a lot of mini pieces of fries in the portion. Unfortunately, these are a bit hard. We were looking for a place to have dinner around 7pm on a Friday evening. A place for 5 people was no problem. Despite the central location, quiet and nice space on the terrace. Drinks and food came quickly. Tastes very good.

Modern restaurant with a large beer garden. The menu is very mixed with different dishes from all over the world. The currywurst with sauces in 7 different levels of spiciness is probably well known. Otherwise there are various breakfast options, small dishes, desserts, burgers, Italian and Asian dishes, some classics and local dishes. The offer is completely sufficient, as is the very diverse drinks menu. We had a comfortable table outside and were served quickly by a friendly waiter. I chose the cutlet with baked potatoes and bacon bean rolls and enjoyed a good, cold Radeberger with it. The stir-fry was brought relatively quickly. The portion was mega, I can only guess, but it was at least 300 g of meat. Freshly fried meat should still be juicy on the inside, which was no longer the case here. It was completely fried and a little bit more, i.e. dry. The taste was good and there was enough sauce to balance it out. There were extra steak knives for this. The potatoes were good but could have been a little softer. The bacon bean rolls were ok. The beans could have been a little firmer. The sauce with colorful peppercorns was tasty and not spicy, exactly my taste. There is still room for improvement here. The price was completely ok, and you can't say anything negative about the portion size. You can pay in cash or by card. It was good, but for 5 stars I was missing something extraordinary. I haven't been to the second floor interior yet, but I'll do so later. I can recommend the location.

There were 6 of us eating at Max. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. Compared to the other places we visited in Dresden, I give it 5 stars, especially for the friendly staff.

The table was dirty and my pants were dirty too The fruit salad wasn't fresh, the greens on the strawberries were still there and tasted old. The peach was mushy and tasted very sour

Food was OK, service was NOT. We were there for breakfast. Why we're unhappy: - The lady that seated us was rude, however our (main) waitress was very nice. - After we were seated, they would not clean the leftovers from the previous guests for a very long time, until we specifically asked them to do it. - The waitress that took our order was not the one that served us. Multiple different people served our orders and they were all quite confused, bringing the wrong things or bringing us something they had served us already. - Although the orders are taken digitally, some orders were wrong - e.g. we ordered extra bread and were brought the wrong type after specifically being asked what kind we want. - One cup came with lipstick on it, but was replaced after we asked. - One coffee was already spilled all over the cup and saucer when it arrived. - We asked for an ashtray, the waitress went for it and we never saw her again. So we asked another one. - I found the food to be OK, but the group I was there with was 50/50 on it.

Fries good, sandwich good, burger meat pretty bad. €1 for 25g of mayo or ketchup is cheeky. Ladies toilet dirty. Goes better.

We arrived here spontaneously for breakfast on May 16, 2024 and were seated in the restaurant. Drank really good café crema and ate two very tasty breakfasts; Cheese and old town breakfast. We would like to emphasize the friendly service and beautiful atmosphere.

I actually always eat the beetroot couscous with goat cheese at Max. Last week I was there and ordered this again. The portion was suddenly very small. When I asked whether there was a new chef or the recipe had been changed, I couldn't be given any correct information. The price was the same as always. Very disappointing.

There was no free table inside, so we had to go out and make sure there were blankets. The food was delicious but it took a long time, as did the drinks.

Unfortunately not a nice experience! If you don't reserve, you'll sit outside in the cold. You discuss the food with the service and when the food is there it doesn't taste good. Absolutely not recommended. The bakery around the corner has friendly staff and better food.

Today my wife and I spontaneously had breakfast here and despite not having a reservation we got a table. I had a "fitness breakfast" and can only recommend it, because it's really something different than cheese and ham with boring rolls. Flexible and friendly service. Spacious outdoor area. Very stylishly furnished. I'd love to come back 😊

The price-performance ratio is not right here. If I e.g. For example, if I order a smoothie for €4.50, I expect a glass with at least 200 ml content. What I got was a mini jar of bad tasting fruit pulp. The breakfast offering is completely overpriced.

Mediocre place, friendly waitresses and very dry and almost unfriendly waitresses, expensive for what it offers - but within the tourist area at least it is not a tourist trap, 13 EUR for a Currywurst is a bit exaggerated..

Don’t do it to yourself. Food is not very good—think clearly prepackaged ingredients thrown together, and the ambiance is nothing.

Delivery of service is not as ambitious as the interior design and presentation of the brand. Unless you order champagne for breakfast!

Very rich and delicious breakfast

We have been coming for many years and have always been satisfied. Today we ate the Max Burger, where the meat was too dry and the presentation was careless. Ketchup or mayo has to be paid extra, which we don't understand. The truffle mayo didn't really taste like truffles. There were no biscuits with the coffee and the candle was lit upon request. Unfortunately it was no longer the gastronomic experience as we know it. With a lot of competition from surrounding restaurants, you should consider where the unique selling point is and why guests should come there.

The food was great... but it was brought from the currywurst grill next door, there is an interesting business constellation here. Clean, fast service (Sunday lunch) and reasonable prices.

Very good breakfast offering. It is advisable to reserve a table on weekends as it is very busy.

A very nice location. If you have the chance you should try to get a table by the window. No matter what the weather is outside, it is absolutely useful for personal relaxation. The breakfast is very rich and absolutely corresponds to the price/performance ratio. The service is very friendly and accommodating; the principle of balanced hospitality has been understood here. We would love to come back again.

Had breakfast at Max this morning. There was a wide selection of breakfasts with eggs, vital with berries in Porige style or the Max special with all the trimmings, always decorated and served with fresh fruit. We reserved a table for the three of us online last night and were able to indicate when making the reservation whether we had any special requests. So I could wish for a table that was ideally located in a quiet location. Breakfast came very quickly and was absolutely delicious. Prices from 11-20€, absolutely suitable for the size. We'd love to come back.

We had breakfast at Max and I have to say that the ambience is nice and the seating is quite comfortable, but that was marred by the service and the food. As soon as we sat down we were asked what we would like to drink and eat without even having a chance to look at the menu. If you wanted to order something to drink, it took forever before you could even place your order, despite 4 waiters and only a half-full second floor, so we ended up ordering the drinks online. The food itself was okay, but for the price I would have expected much more. The disposable jars for jams and honey are particularly a no-go for me.

Qualität und Ambiente in Ordnung!

The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right here. Far too expensive (food is only bistro quality and not restaurant quality). You pay extra for each side dish, tap water was refused to be served. The Max Burger tastes extremely dry, no side salad. It takes a long time to be allowed to order, and not every guest at the table gets their own menu. No recommendation.

Simply great - a glass of wine in the evening with a view of the Altmarkt - always very nice.

The service was super friendly and quick, the two ladies were simply great, but selling the vegetable broth with garnish as tom kah gai was really shocking, but the dry bread with it was delicious 😂

I often get a currywurst from the snack stand downstairs, and today was my first time in the restaurant. In addition to the things from the snack bar, there is a lot more choice and you can sit comfortably at the table. The staff was on the ball, quick and friendly, the food was plentiful and everyone enjoyed it.

Of course I went out to eat again this evening. I chose citizens today. And I have to say the burger was very tasty and the restaurant is in the old town of Dresden. It's a very nice restaurant with nice staff and you didn't have to wait long for the food. Can definitely recommend it.

I was here yesterday, the food was very good, but one of the staff there yesterday had a really unfriendly attitude towards us, I got very unfriendly and rude looks from her. I don't think this was a bad experience but I felt very uncomfortable because of her attitude. Anyway, another staff with blonde hair served us very well.

Ich bin oft und gern hier. Die Qualität ist gleichbleibend gut und der Service stets freundlich! Selbst im größten Stress bleibt Zeit für ein nettes Wort!

Die Online-Reservierung über Google hat super geklappt und wir haben zu sechst im Obergeschoss gesessen und hatten Blick auf die Erinnerung an die Sophienkirche. Der Service ist freundlich, hat jedoch noch Luft nach oben - gerade was die Aufmerksamkeit hinsichtlich Getränke anbelangt. Es wäre z. B. schön gewesen, wenn die 6 Kaffeegetränke alle gleichzeitig gebracht worden wären. Wir mussten beobachten, dass die fehlenden 4 Kaffeegetränke fertig auf dem Tresen standen und standen und standen. Das Geschnetzelte, der Salat, die Bowl und der Ziegenkäse waren lecker. Wobei der Ziegenkäse nicht richtig gratiniert war. Die Käsespätzle waren kalt und sollten noch mal heiß serviert werden. Hat leider auch nicht richtig geklappt. Der SachsenDreier war beim Auftischen schon essbereit also auch nicht heiß. Das war sehr sehr schade. Ebenso ist es sehr ungünstig, dass nur einer berechtigt ist abzukassieren, das hält unheimlich auf bis man dann endlich dran ist. Schade.

ein tolles Restaurant/Café mitten in der City. Auf zwei Etagen sitzt man sehr schön. Im Sommer kann man auch draussen sitzen. Großartige Auswahl an Getränke und Essen. Man kann sich auch eine Currywurst von unten bestellen lassen.

Wir haben im Lokal zu viert gefrühstückt. Es war absolut ausreichend und super lecker und viel günstiger als im Hotel. Das Personal war auch super freundlich.

Nettes Personal, das Ambiente wirkt leider sehr kalt und ungemütlich. Das Frühstück war wechselhaft, der Bürger selber ist sehr zu empfehlen, allerdings ist der Obstsalat nicjt so besonders. Der schmeckte wie aus der Dose. Leider gar nicht.

Currywurst wird leider nicht zeitlich mit anderen Gerichten aus gleicher Bestellung serviert. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen.

I was visiting Dresden, and I wanted to visit a nice place to eat, have some coffee and have a good time with my parents. We found Max, and we decided to have 3 cups of coffee, as well as 2 burgers. We ordered the coffee. We could not find the regular tap water on the menu. I asked if she can bring non-mineral “tap” water. I did “not” expect to be charged for tap water, because we are already ordering food and drinks. After coffee, I ordered a doppelburger with 2 beef patties, and a vegetarian burger. Server asked if we wanted ketchup, but she did not tell us whether it was “extra” or not. I used a cell phone with Google Translate to translate the German menu to English. I did not see an indicator of tap water or extra ketchup. Although I showed her on the menu with my finger the doppelburger, and told her clearly it was the “double burger”, my burger came with 1 beef patty. I sent it back. We asked for 1 more glass of tap water, and, she brought 1 more glass for each person. When I saw the check, we were charged 1.80 Euros for each glass of water and 2 Euros for tiny amount of small ketchups they gave with burgers (that already came with fries). The 2 servers were rude and cold. She came to bring the check, and we were charged 7.4 Euros extra (5.40 Euro for water and 2 Euros for ketchups), despite their mistake with my double burger order, and despite making us wait an additional 15 minutes. They lost my tip altogether. This place is not tourist friendly. I do not advise anyone to go there. This is the first time in my life that the restaurant can charge a fee for tap water (it is not bottled water) or ketchup that usually comes with burgers and fries. Making a mistake with the order is not nice. It requires an apology already. And, they are not competent. They definitely need lessons to learn about how to treat customers. (They were obviously lacking soft skills.)

Als wir das Restaurant betraten roch es sehr unangenehm nach altem, noch nassen und muffigen Putzlappen der anscheinend nie richtig trocknen darf sondern sein Leben triest in einem alten Putzeimer fristet und auf sein jähes Ende hofft. Nach diesem eindrucksvollen Auftakt, welcher nicht ausschlaggebend für diese Rezension ist vollbrachte das laut Definition der Küche „weich gekochte Ei“ mich dazu diese Zeilen zu schreiben. Denn weich gekocht entsprach hart bis durch gekocht. Auf Nachfrage war es nicht möglich ein weich gekochtes Ei nachzuliefern, auf meine Kosten hingegen war dies selbstverständlich möglich. Auch würde man hier ein weich gekochtes nicht aus einem Eierbecher essen können, da es diesen schlicht nicht gibt. Danke für dieses eindrucksvolle Erlebnis!

Essen Top, Service flop Das Essen (Duroc Kotelett, Max Sandwitch und der Sachsendreier) ist sehr lecker, die Pommes sind meines Erachtens etwas salzig gewesen und könnten etwas knuspriger sein. Aber der Service war an den Tag leider eine Zumutung, der zuständige Kellner war in den guten 3h Aufenthalt ca. 3mal bei uns um uns zu bedienen.

Trotz hohen Besucherandrangs wurde uns noch ein Tisch im OG angeboten. Speisen und Service waren top. Danke!

Die Tischreservierung hat super geklappt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich aber anscheinend auch überfordert. Die Bestellung über QR Code hat nicht funktioniert und wir warteten geschlagene 35 min auf ein Frühstück das mich für diesen Preis erstarren ließ. Mein Tee war bis dahin kalt und das beschriebene Frühstück war eine Frechheit. Die Brötchen waren wie Gummi und das Obst war fasst nicht zu sehen und dann noch an der Grenze zu nicht mehr genießbar. Das Ei war mehr als Hart.... sozusagen Tot gekocht und das ganze sah auf dem großen Teller sehr traurig aus. Sorry, Max... diese Schüler waren sehr unbeholfen und unprofessionell. Bitte helft diesen jungen unerfahrenen Personal und stellt ein Profi daneben... wir haben mit Tringgeld 50 Euro bezahlt... dafür kann man weit mehr erwarten. Ich war das letzte mal da..definitiv!!.Da hat jeder einfache Bäcker um die Ecke mehr Ideen 💡.

Confused but gentle welcoming, food was tasty for decent price, staff mixed the orders and sauces and brought starters in same time as main dishes which is a big lack of timing. We have waited a lot for drinks to be ordered but food came in quick timing but not coordinated between customer. So unpleasant experience for a restaurant which is great overall with kind staff.

Es war sehr schön ,bis mir die Kellnerin die Cola übergeschüttet hat,ausser ein kurze Entschuldigung kam nix,der Abend für mich aber gelaufen.Sonst ein ganz schönes Restaurant.

Es gibt eine richtig tolle Kinderkarte! Aber das Essen an sich hat mich jetzt nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Der Service war top, so auch die Getränke. Und das Ambiente war auch sehr schön. Alles in allem fand ich aber das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis etwas überzogen.

Auf den Hinweis, dass etwas fehlt nur ein pampig. Also wie das Beötchen. Essen in Ordnung, aber lieblos und zu teuer für die Qualität. Gammliges Obst. Schwitziger Käse mit angehärtetem Rand.
