It was very tasty. Unfortunately, there was no Georgian beer available during my visit, but everything else was pleasant.

It was so delicious again! This is our second time here. The food is just like in Georgia. The service is fantastic and the owner is super nice. We'll be back soon ❤️

Absolutely delicious! We ordered several different dishes and everything tasted fantastic. Nina was very friendly and catered to our every need. We'll definitely be back to Mespinzelo next time we're in Cologne. Tip 1: Be sure to reserve a table. Tip 2: Payment is only accepted in cash or via PayPal. Card payments are not accepted.

So, I'd like to share our experience from last Saturday, November 8th. Despite having a reservation, it was extremely crowded, at times quite chaotic. We didn't get to our table until 7:20 pm instead of 7:00 pm. The waiting guests were piled up both outside and inside. Sure, you wait a bit. No problem ;) However, when you politely inquire and contact the owner, she loudly replies, "Well, everyone called and made a reservation," and the lady herself seemed a bit annoyed, well, that's certainly not a pleasant start to an evening. We took it in stride! :)) Reservation management should ideally be handled with a booking tool like OpenTable or other platforms! An email we sent over four weeks beforehand went unanswered 😅 to avoid any organizational complications. Otherwise, everyone was quite helpful. The decor is quirky and uniquely beautiful. It perfectly reflects the lively, vibrant atmosphere. And when the owner came to settle the bill, she briefly apologized for the chaos. There was no schnapps, though, unlike at the other tables 😁🤣 Despite that, we had a lovely evening in a special atmosphere. As for the food itself: I personally didn't think the dumplings were very good. There was far too little filling for the rather thickly rolled-out dough. All the other dishes were very flavorful and delicious. Oh, and the drinks, especially the green thyme lemonade, were unfortunately warm. We'll be back to try the other dishes. There are several vegan options!

Georgian cuisine is delicious, especially Mtsvadi is highly recommended. A great tip in Ehrenfeld.

I really enjoyed my time at Maspinzelo. The staff were all very friendly and the food was fantastic! I'm vegan and found lots of delicious options. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded and it was difficult to get a table even with a reservation, but it was definitely worth it!

I had something like this (I think it was a goose leg) with rice. The meat practically fell off the bone by itself 😍. We also had a whole range of appetizers, all of which were incredibly delicious, especially the eggplant with garlic cream.

Georgian cuisine to enjoy and a different, great cuisine to try in the heart of Cologne's Ehrenfeld district. We had a wonderful time there enjoying various dishes, such as dumplings, shashlik, and baked bread. Along with delicious Georgian beer. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant is lovingly and beautifully decorated, just like a vacation. Definitely recommended.

We walked pasted this restaurant yesterday and decided to go in with our two boys. We decided to go in first because of the great visual appeal that the restaurant had from the outside (which unfortunately a lot of restaurants in Germany don’t have) and the great design continued though the restaurant. The food was delicious and both waitresses provided great service even though it was really busy. Keep up the good work guys :)

My wife and I visited the shop this summer. We had a table inside and waited about 30 minutes before we could order. The owner was very busy outside fixing the sun umbrellas, which weren't working. Then it was our turn and we were able to order. We would love to visit the shop again because we liked the food and the atmosphere. We've often recommended the Georgian cuisine to our friends. A friend of ours quickly showed interest, and we invited her to dinner. We've tried to enter the shop twice since our first visit, but each time we were asked to come back later and given some organizational reason why we couldn't be served yet. The shop is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Each time we tried to enter the shop at around 2:30 p.m. and couldn't understand why, two and a half hours after opening time, we were asked to come back a little later. The owner, I think her name is Nina, even claimed out loud yesterday that she thought we'd never been there before. This sparked a discussion, and I was able to tell Nina how lovely the conversation was on our first visit. So, we're not liars and we're not lying, dear Nina. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be visiting you again. Good luck, and thank you anyway!

Unfortunately, I can't share the many very good reviews. Of course, it's all a matter of taste, but I wasn't impressed by the decor (quite colorful and kitschy, with uncomfortable chairs), the service, or the food.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The food is truly delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the people there are very friendly. The atmosphere is super cozy; you immediately feel at home. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Cologne! My whole family was very satisfied, and we'll definitely be back again :))

We were there last Saturday. The food was neither particularly good nor bad. It's worth eating once, but you don't necessarily have to go back. The sparsely filled dumplings consisted almost entirely of thick dough, and the chicken dish we ordered looked significantly more delicious in the photo on the menu than what was served (the accompanying sauce was just as unspectacular as the dip for the dumplings). The Georgian beer we ordered was too warm; the only really interesting thing was the green Georgian tarragon lemonade. Unfortunately, you can get much better and tastier food (and drinks) elsewhere for €40 for two. 🤷‍♂️

It was delicious! Having visited Georgia once, I fell in love with the cuisine of this country. And even more love for the people and the way they welcome you. You come as if to old friends' home. They talk to you as if you have known each other for 100 years. And this makes the atmosphere of this place unique. I really like it. The choice of wine is good. Mukuzani is my recommendation. Excellent tarragon. There is also Georgian beer. Personally, for my taste, the meat was a little salty, but I like everything lightly salted. Another nice thing was the small compliment from the place in the form of a cake. But to be honest, there was simply no room for it 😁My rating is 5.👌🏻 I will definitely come back here again.😉

A sweet little place to linger. We had a table full of delicacies and shared them. Among them were Megruli, Lula Kababi, and Badrijani Nigozshi. We also enjoyed a glass of house wine. It was delicious, and we felt very comfortable. We'd love to come back.

Best georgian restaurant in Cologne!

Absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed everything! Our first Georgian experience. The starter was Pkhali Mix, and for the main course, Mtsvadi chicken shashlik and Sazivi chicken in walnut sauce. Everything was absolutely perfect! Very attentive service! Authentic, and the team is super friendly. We'll be happy to come back next time we're in Cologne.

Georgian cuisine is always delicious and filling. A cozy place with a good location. Friendly staff. The food tastes really good, and the prices are reasonable. One drawback: There's no consistent quality standard. It's not always the same – sometimes the same dish tastes completely different, the meat might not be cooked all the way through, or something else might be wrong. Moments like these make me sad. But I love Georgian cuisine very much. I hope they improve things like this in the future.

I always enjoy coming here; the cakes are super moist, but they're also great for dinner. The vegetarian selection is extensive, and everything is freshly prepared and delicious. The service is always friendly, and it's simply an integral part of Ehrenfeld. An absolute recommendation, 10/10!

We were in Maspinzelo on Sunday. A really nice, small restaurant with a manageable menu and delicious dishes. The owner is friendly, open, and always smiling. The mother is still the boss in the kitchen, and you can taste it in the dishes. The value for money is excellent. We were extremely satisfied and would gladly come back :)

I have been to dozens of Georgian restaurants (incl ones in Georgia itself) and I was just not impressed with the food here. It was not bad-bad but it lacked the character.

The food was really average. But the atmosphere is nice

Unfortunately the food was very tasteless. We ordered filled dumplings, a beetroot salad and flatbread with cheese. The dough wasn't quite done yet. Unfortunately the cheese had no taste either. The mushroom dumplings were barely filled. We were only full because the dough was so heavy in our stomachs. Unfortunately there was no taste at all. It was our first time eating Georgian food and unfortunately we were disappointed. The only things that were “good” were the beetroot salad and the service. The shop was full and we still didn't wait that long for the food. In my opinion, the price of the food was extremely high compared to many other restaurants. You could pay in cash or via Paypal. At the end there were 2 small pieces of cake on the house. Unfortunately they also tasted better than the food... so all in all I would give the shop a maximum of 2 stars.

The service is terrible. We waited for khachapuri for an hour, and when it was brought, it was only for two people, while the others sat at the table and waited. The waitress answered the question of why we are waiting so long for our order with rudeness! Cutlery is dirty! The smell from the kitchen can be heard too much in the hall. The dish itself is not finished, the dough is not completely baked. It is not convenient to reach the toilet. Until the waiter was called, no one paid attention to our presence!

Long wait for the order. And the taste of the food is so-so. Terrible savings on everything, and the dishes are not washed properly.

Mega delicious - again and again. Had never had Georgian before but was pleasantly surprised and would eat it again.

Food was delicious, super tasteful and really perfectly prepared. The selection wasn't large, but you can tell that what's on the menu was worked out to perfection. But the waitress also made the experience so extraordinary, super friendly and warm, just a mega charisma that put a smile on your face. Also great for vegetarians. We had the Khinkali with spinach and cheese and the Megruli. Highly recommend both, they were simply delicious!

This restaurant is an enrichment for the Cologne gastro scene. The wonderful Georgian cuisine is prepared and presented here authentically and, above all, very tasty. You can snack on smaller portions or fill your stomach with starters and main courses. The staff is warm and customer-oriented. We felt very comfortable and hope that a lot of people decided to eat here! The seating outside when the sun is shining is a great bonus!

Opening times are incorrect. You can make a reservation, but the restaurant isn't open when you're there for lunch at 1 p.m. Better go somewhere else.

Don't understand the hype. Prices are at restaurant level, quality of food and ambience are more like snack bar quality. The spinach balls were very salty and garlicky. The dumplings were also salty and fell apart. Our clothes smelled greasy afterwards. The waiter was very friendly and brought us a cake at the end.

Today my family and I went to Maspinzelo for the first time and we were all absolutely thrilled. Really delicious hearty cuisine with inspiring service and an extremely friendly atmosphere. We had, among other things, Lula Kababi, Adjaruli, Khinkali with minced beef and Mchadi - all very tasty. We are looking forward to being guests at Maspinzelo again. Be sure to reserve in advance on weekend evenings.

I have never eaten such good Georgian food in Germany. I was in Düsseldorf at two restaurants, Berlin and at home with a Georgian family. But the taste is right here. The portions are appropriate for the price. The atmosphere is more suitable for a family evening or an evening with a couple who have been friends for a long time. But not for a first or romantic date. Authentic, fresh and friendly. Top.

Unfortunately, my experience was very mixed. My order wasn't brought to the table after 25 minutes+, even though the restaurant was very empty. My friend's dish came on time, at least. The food that was served was delicious. The lid of the water carafe had clearly visible mildew/mold on the bottom. Unfortunately, I only noticed this after we had already drunk the water. In addition, the table was dirty with wax.

Went there for the first time yesterday. Very authentic atmosphere. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Like a little trip to Georgia. Very tasty food.

I was there a total of six times in mostly larger groups (always in the evenings, with a reservation, without it you can't get a table on the weekends/only rarely, I only went there spontaneously once at lunchtime with a friend; there was a table without any problems). The waitress/owner always (!) seemed very friendly and nice, you not only felt welcome, you felt at home on the couch. I found the family atmosphere with children behind the counter to be great. Despite the huge rush and only one waitress, the food is served quickly. It's a shame that the beetroot salad is no longer offered in 'large slices' (I once had it when the restaurant opened), I find these chopped vegetables to be rather laborious to eat and it simply lacks something in terms of taste, you chew a lot less - for me the taste experience that I enjoyed at the beginning is missing here, especially since the cheese from back then was also missing, I thought the combination was great back then. The bean salad has an interesting taste, but you have to like it. All possible types of dough preparations (with cheese in the dough or gratinated, sometimes with egg yolk) are all delicious. Some things (e.g. the spinach balls) take a lot of getting used to, although they are definitely authentic (but I can't rate them). As a shop owner, I would rather offer this as a 'sample size' and as a 'meal', as you can quickly 'consume' it. The fact that some dishes are served cold, like the spinach balls, is also slightly irritating and this could be added as you don't expect this when eating together with friends in the evening. The dumplings are highly recommended, really great, as is the dip! The minced meat in the wrap seemed to me like it had been bought ready-made, as the consistency seemed very industrial (I don't want to imply that here, but it did seem like it and the middle was partly a bit cooler; thawed?), but the taste was still ok. The grilled eggplants with paste are also super tasty, but I would like more of them to fill you up. The chicken in walnut sauce is very tasty, although I would prefer it if the meat was removed from the bone. It can be seen on site and in the pictures here in the comments: The size of the pieces of meat/number varies and the arrangement (as in the picture on the menu) is not even remotely successful; this spoils the otherwise really good impression. The grilled things are also great, I can't complain here, the taste is perfect and the spices are great. Serving the food (partially) on wood is beautiful, the bowls are equally beautiful. The toilets are clean and the restaurant otherwise appears well tidy. As a greeting from the house, the small piece of cake (eaten in two bites, intended as a bedtime treat, not as an extremely large dessert) at the end is simply an incredibly nice gesture; the open and pleasant gathering is repeated here as at the beginning. Each time there was also a different cake and so far they have all been very tasty. All in all, an evening at Maspinzelo is always wonderful. PS: Criticism is always important and I sincerely want the restaurant to continue to exist, which is why I also give this extensive and honest feedback, as this is the only way to grow.

Very nice and bright restaurant. The menu is very diverse and there is everything from vegetarian to meat. We were really excited. Both the filled dumplings and the meaty wrap. We also had a Georgian beer, which was very drinkable and went well. The service was extremely friendly and really nice. We felt completely at home and very welcome. For dessert there was a piece of fluffy sponge cake on the house. Really great. For me, the restaurant definitely needs repeating. We both thought it was great. Fortunately, card payment is also possible.

I was missing Georgian food here, and then we found this place 😀 The khinkali were wonderful, the ones with beef were especially good: juicy and a bit spicy. I also liked the desserts a lot - the carrot cake and the berry-chocolate cake. I would also like to mention the nice atmosphere and the very friendly hostess. 😀

The whole family was there for dinner. We ordered a lot of dishes, we wanted to try everything. Everything was very tasty. The portions are large. There is something spicy, and there is something moderately spicy. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, they will help you and give you advice. There is a menu in Russian. The children tried khachapuri for the first time and said that they had never eaten anything tastier😁

We had a very nice and sociable evening here with very tasty food and very good wine and beer. Overall, the evening made us excited about Georgian cuisine and culture.

When we asked if there's a kid's menu the lady replied that they don't have it because kids in Georgia eat what parents eat. We made appeal to all our diplomacy to avoid arguing and ordered food. Kinkhali were very spicy, even for us and when we asked for an explanation, the owner said they're always spicy (which it's not true, it's not the first time we eat georgian food and we have visited Georgia as well). Since one of our favourite dishes is the rolled aubergines filled with walnuts paste, we ordered Badrijani Nigozshi, which ended up to be just slices of aubergines with some walnuts paste spreaded on top. Again we were a bit surprised and the lady commented that like this we have it both inside and on top. We're not so naive, real rolls would have been much more filling inside. The cherry on top of the cake was the mean of payment, either PayPal or cache. And again we were told that all restaurants in Bonn use these methods (which it's not true). All in all, our advice is to avoid this place, especially if you have small kids. Kid's corner that you may see in the reviews doesn't exist anymore since 5 years but we were provided with some kids books to entertain them.

Georgian? Great! At first we were skeptical about what to expect, but we were very positively surprised. The menu seems manageable at first, but we were still somehow overwhelmed. But the warm hostess gave us very nice advice, including when it came to portion size. As a result, a little later we had something of almost everything on the table, everyone could help themselves and, as far as I could tell, everyone in the group enjoyed it very much. It's really something different. At the end, the very attentive lady gave our birthday child a piece of cake as a surprise 🍰 Would recommend everyone to go here at least once, if only for the experience.

First of all, the food was really, really good. But the service really wasn't good and everything took forever. In addition, the child's food was brought last and at a distance, which is not really good in my opinion. The atmosphere takes some getting used to and there were packaged drink bottles everywhere in the local rum.

Simply delicious!!! Absolutely recommended. A fair price-performance ratio. We felt very comfortable and welcome there and will definitely come back! P.S. Restaurant is very busy. That speaks for itself))
