A hamburger for €2.20 instead of €1, and that wasn't so long ago? That's not a markup anymore, that's a farce. And the meals? Almost as expensive as in a restaurant – except you're hungry again after half an hour. For families, this is no longer fun, but a luxury. It's no fun for smaller families or singles either. Fries for €4.29 – seriously? At that price, the frying oil should be glistening gold. Especially sad: The McRib used to be legendary – juicy, flavorful, with plenty of sauce. Today, it's simply missing that certain something. Despite all the nostalgia: The taste of yesteryear is history. Even the hamburgers and cheeseburgers aren't what they used to be. That's what happens when you try to cut costs and replace ingredients with cheaper ones to generate more profit—it shows in the taste. We've decided: No more drive-thru. From now on, burgers are only available homemade—fresher, cheaper, and with real flavor. McDonald's used to be iconic—now you don't even want to go there anymore, and the line at the register is a nightmare.
