Manns Bräu in Bayreuth

The food has clearly lost quality. The week before last, one of us got a Cordon Bleu that was really amazing. Between two wafer-thin, dust-dry pieces of meat, baked to death, there was a slice of cooked ham and “cheese” that looked, smelled and probably also tasted indefinable, like “analogue cheese substitute”. It's shocking how such a simple standard can be messed up like that, especially since they don't necessarily charge frisbee prices. The more manageable fried potatoes that were served were also borderline carbonized. One of us would have accepted it, two of us would have left it burned. Knuckle from the deep fryer (there are definitely fans of it, but it's not necessarily fine dining) & bratwurst were ok. One of my buddies and I were glad we didn't order any food. Service is quick, friendly and on point - there's nothing to complain about. Interior is a bit greasy/worn and could use a bit of caring. We are now looking for an alternative for our group.

Enjoy good beer and delicious food outside (view of the old town) or inside (rustic atmosphere). Service was quick and friendly, dogs are also welcome. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by - hopefully see you soon!

The dining room is rustically furnished - a tavern with corner benches and unnecessary frills. Apparently the restaurant is increasingly visited by locals. Very friendly and personable service. The food is excellent Franconian home cooking.

Everything great! I always enjoy coming back! The Manns is also the perfect place for everyone to come over spontaneously and sit down somewhere.

Unfortunately I can't give more stars, as much as I'd like to. The nice service and the rustic atmosphere are fine, but we were mainly there for the food. And were pretty disappointed. On roast day there was already no more crusty roast at 11:30 a.m. Also no fried potatoes with fried eggs. So ordered the classic - Schäuferle. It came promptly - and was just dry, way beyond the point. Even though I'm not particularly sensitive, it shouldn't have been brought to the table. Then it's better to go to the competition, which simply does it much better for the same price.

Nice quaint pub. Nice waitresses who are on their toes if something is missing. The menu isn't big, and it doesn't have to be. The food tastes very good and the beer is also delicious.

At lunchtime, we got immediately a table. And the food was in not even 5min on our table. Portion was also pretty huge.

The Manns Bräu in downtown Bayreuth is a long-established restaurant. The food was delicious 😋 and sufficient. The service was sometimes overwhelmed, but very friendly. Not all orders were delivered as ordered, but complaints were resolved immediately. The ambience is Bavarian (Upper Franconian) rustic, but very noisy. The prices are in the lower middle range and are reasonable.

Great place in the center of Bayreuth. They serve their own beer and Franconian cuisine. The interior is unpretentious, typical for this kind of establishment. The food portions are large, everything is tasty and satisfying. Local beer is also excellent. Prices are average for a provincial city, and quite cheap for Munich. Service is fast and polite

Were here for the second time, always delicious. No waiting times. We got drinks straight away and the food was there a few minutes later. Simply great.

Very nice Franconian restaurant. Very tasty beers. Something different to the standard Bayreuth beer. Door serving possible. Our service was super nice and also very attentive. The food is good Franconian. Unfortunately I can't give the Schäuferla 5 stars because it was quite dry that day and the sauce was thin. The other dishes we had were very tasty. However, I can definitely recommend the Mannsbräu.

A cozy restaurant with a warm, lively ambiance, frequented by locals and filled with a friendly atmosphere. I tried the pork knuckle and cordon bleu—both were cooked well and nicely prepared, adding to an overall enjoyable experience. They accept cards!

Rustic, cozy and a Bayreuth original

A meeting place, known in town and country. You always meet someone or get to know someone. I particularly like that Mann's has become so well known and that there are always audiences from all over the world. Very good address to get to know Franconian cuisine.

Super fast, super friendly service. Even without a reservation it wasn't a problem. Good Franconian cuisine, but also a lot of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, simply rustic and delicious beer and food. Everything was great 👍

The knuckle was great... Price performance was also completely okay. Ambiance pub bar there side street and construction site with containers. You will also be completely full from the pottion.

Very friendly reception, beautiful and rustic restaurant, very friendly, attentive and fast service. The dishes on the menu are more than sufficient, and we found it very positive that there were also many vegetarian dishes. The beer from our own brewery tastes good, and we had Schäufele and Haxn to eat. Both were really good and completely sufficient. We found the price-performance ratio to be very good and we can recommend the Mannsbräu without reservation.

Great shop with very tasty beer and great Franconian cuisine. Inside it is very cozy and rustic. The service people are very friendly and always have a funny saying. Our order came very quickly and was very tasty. The knuckle is highly recommended. Special requests for supplements are also no problem. We recommend!

Visit in July 2023 This is how I imagined my visit to Bayreuth. This rustic restaurant has everything your heart desires if you want to try out local cuisine. As Prussians 🤣 we were warmly welcomed, served in a friendly manner and had great, tasty food on the table, plus 1-7 shopping wine 🫶🏻🥂

Always fun, delicious food, portions have unfortunately become smaller due to the current financial crisis... Generally quite loud, so not for sensitive ears indoors at peak times.

We had a reservation with a specific request to sit outside. Apparently there are no reservations outside, which is perfectly fine, but we wanted to sit at a free table outside, but it was already reserved? We then sat near the garbage cans at a wobbling table that was so tilted that the sauce spilled out of the plates. When we wanted to straighten the table a little, we were immediately reprimanded by the waitress without any explanation. The service was generally rather unfriendly and dismissive. The food itself was quite good, but our dishes came at a significantly different time (10 minutes), so that the first one was finished when the last one had his meal. This would be understandable for a large group, but there were only 3 of us. Some of my food was almost cold when it arrived. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed and wouldn't come again. The price/performance ratio is absolutely not right here. It's better to go to the Oskar, where you sit much nicer and everything is more professional.

The worst service ever! We have been in this place not for the first time but they charged us for 2 extra beers. And the staff was blaming us for that! We have paid without any doubts but then we checked the bill and we were shocked! It’s totally unacceptable! We will never come back to you again. I am asking your management to check that situation and we are waiting for the excuses!

Unfortunately, we can't fully understand the good reviews. The lady from the service was spontaneously very unfriendly. You can accept that sometimes, but dirty tables, plates and greasy menus cannot be excused. And if the food is in front of the guest just five minutes after ordering, you should be skeptical. The food was lukewarm and unfortunately one of the worst we've had in a long time. A pity

Authentic Franconian inn with its own beer.

This restaurant offers delicious home cooking and its own beer, resulting in a wonderful combination. The dishes are very tasty and authentically prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for traditional dishes and a special beer experience.

Great beer! Visited on a beautiful spring day and sat outside. Just a short walk away from all the stores and crowds but very much worth the few extra steps!

Cozy little brewpub on the edge of the Altstadt. Small dining area inside but what you see when you walk in is the beer window. Several great options vom fass and even a guest tap or two. Also some bottles available. Buy your beer(s) at the window and head outside on a beautiful evening for a great Bayreuth experience!

A very rustic and simply furnished inn in Bayreuth's southern city. I've actually never eaten such great cordon bleu! The portion was huge and as I said, totally great! My friends had ordered Schäufele and they were also excellent and the portion size was suitable for a large appetite. The prices were also great. All in all, the price-performance ratio as well as the service and the ambience were great!

We came across Manns Bräu by chance on a short trip to Bayreuth. Since we were very hungry, we stopped in spontaneously. What should we say? Quaint economy, nice staff. Pure authenticity. And that meal was a real treat for the palate. It's been ages since I've eaten so well. People like to give more tips. We hope Manns Bräu will remain in this form for all our guests for a long time to come.

I ate here a few times and enjoyed the place. They have really good traditional food and inexpensive good beer. It's a great place for vegeterians and vegans: a lovely selection of tasty traditional dishes (Bavarian and Franconian) made for vegans, which made me come here more than once. And the beer is really nice: I've tried all of them ( three kinds).

Although there is a traditional restaurant, a brewery outside the building, good for drinking beer. Ambiance “shabby” and in need of an overhaul. Eating scary!!!! I ordered schnitzel from the PAN and received two pieces of fat dripping from the deep fryer that were fried together - not edible for me. By the way, wearing a jogging suit isn't possible at all.

Erst wollte ich ein Schäufele, aber die süße Nicole hat mir das Spanferkel empfohlen. Das war SO lecker und auch das Bier ist super. Ich komme bestimmt wieder. 😁 Allerdings ist es schwer, einen Parkplatz zu bekommen. Aber man sollte eh besser ein Taxi nehmen, dann geht mehr Bier.😉

Heute 20.12. laut Insta am 25.12. geschlossen...🙄. Gleich angerufen. Ja, haben zu. Ist auch am 2. Feiertag nix vermerkt... hä? Und jetzt?.... und das jetzt an Weihnachtsfeiertagen....
